"The indoor/outdoor cantina in Malibu is currently offering both batched cocktails and beer to-go. Prices might seem a bit steep (cocktails run $17-25), but everything comes in 32-ounce containers and all beer is sold in six-packs, so if you break it down, it’s actually a very good deal. Our favorite drink is the Spicy Oaxacan with mezcal and jalapeno, but you can’t really go wrong when the rest of your friends on Zoom are drinking vodka waters. Takeaway only." - brant cox

The Mexican cantina in Malibu has transitioned into a new concept called Beach Bird, which features a menu with some Cliffdiver staples like the quesadilla, as well as some new entrees and to-go cocktails. "You’ve decided to transition to a more Bohemian aesthetic this year, and that means doubling your kaftan count and learning how to pull off blankets as clothing in public. We can’t think of a better place to get in some practice than The Cliffdiver. The casual Mexican bar/restaurant right on PCH in Malibu is perfect for lounging around with friends after a day at the beach, sipping margaritas, and nibbling on vegetarian quesadillas when you find the energy. The indoor/outdoor space certainly has a strong artsy-beach-chic vibe going for it, but not in a way that makes you embarrassed to be there. "Sure, The Cliffdiver closes at 10pm during the week, but maybe an early last call isn’t the worst thing in the world, considering last year you showed up to Thanksgiving with two ice packs duct-taped to your head. This Mexican cantina right on PCH hasn’t been around long, but is already one of our favorite places to drink in Malibu. The margaritas are strong, they have a big front patio filled with lawn games, and if you get hungry, the mushroom quesadilla is tremendous." - brant cox
