The Clumsies

AMAZING! Really reaches the expectations, has a great ambiance, the staff is great and mostly the drinks were amazing. We ended up trying 3 and they were all great. We weren’t going to eat, but we ended up trying the corn balls and WOW!!!! So tender and delicious. Highly recommend the bar.

One can very quickly see why this location is one of the best bars in the world, hands down. I asked the bar tender to help choose drinks for me based on my preferred flavor profile and boy were each drink amazing. We had only planned on stopping in for a single drink and ended up sampling three. The only reason we left was due to dinner plans on the other side of Plaka. This location truly is unique and special and should not be missed.

One of the best bars we’ve ever been to in the world! The cocktails 🍸 were impeccable and the service by Andrea was 11/10. We also had the pulled meat toastie and the tartar which allowed us to have more drinks! Pleased to see Chai Yo on their napkin which means cheers in Thailand 🇹🇭 where we’re from! Highly recommend to anyone looking for delicious drinks in Athens with a relaxed atmosphere.

A bit unassuming from the outside I arrived due to their appearance on the top cocktail bars list. The bartender wasn't too kind, spoke to me loudly from afar rather than getting close and didn't really provide recommendations. Despite not being too busy, I definitely got the feeling he was too busy to help. Despite being 37 degrees outside, they didn't refill the glass of water without being prompted and also provided the complementary peanuts only after I finished the first drink. The drinks themselves were not bad but nothing special enough, especially considering the plethora of cocktail bars around. Their Aegean negroni was blue for no reason, feeling more like a gimmick than an actual attempt to create a good drink.

On a family vacation in Athens, our 19 year old daughter found The Clumsies based on a TikTok video listing it as a “Top 50” bar in the world. It did not disappoint! The setting was a modern, but cozy, upscale garden and we enjoyed cocktails and lunch. We tried the lamb bowl, elevated macaroni and cheese, and Dutch pancake, and The food was all delicious, but the star was the avocado toast with sliced tenderloin. It was so fresh and savory. But of course the focus was on the cocktails! The annual menu was divided into four “lands” with the overall theme of inclusivity. The mixes were creative, surprising, fresh, and yummy. My favorite was a delightful drink called a Hyppocampus. You started by smelling the aromatic paper that was infused with sunscreen, then drank the cocktail, which was tropical, light, and refreshing. It was designed to evoke memories of the beach, and it delivered. The Clumsies was a lovely find in Athens!

Sat at the bar and enjoyed some unique cocktails along with a shrimp taco. The bartenders were engaging and we had some fun conversations about drinks. It’s a vibrant and atmospheric place to unwind.

Landmark bar. Unassuming from the outside but absolutely heaving inside. Long and surreal cocktail list. Very professional service but due to business not easy to casually chat especially over the noise. Great for a party night out though. A must visit if you take your drinks seriously.

Very cool spot for drinks in Athens! Try the Greek salad inspired martini, it’s unexpectedly good! Staff are lovely here aswell and provided snacks with our drinks which was nice!
