The Clumsies

One of the best bars we’ve ever been to in the world! The cocktails 🍸 were impeccable and the service by Andrea was 11/10. We also had the pulled meat toastie and the tartar which allowed us to have more drinks! Pleased to see Chai Yo on their napkin which means cheers in Thailand 🇹🇭 where we’re from! Highly recommend to anyone looking for delicious drinks in Athens with a relaxed atmosphere.

On a family vacation in Athens, our 19 year old daughter found The Clumsies based on a TikTok video listing it as a “Top 50” bar in the world. It did not disappoint! The setting was a modern, but cozy, upscale garden and we enjoyed cocktails and lunch. We tried the lamb bowl, elevated macaroni and cheese, and Dutch pancake, and The food was all delicious, but the star was the avocado toast with sliced tenderloin. It was so fresh and savory. But of course the focus was on the cocktails! The annual menu was divided into four “lands” with the overall theme of inclusivity. The mixes were creative, surprising, fresh, and yummy. My favorite was a delightful drink called a Hyppocampus. You started by smelling the aromatic paper that was infused with sunscreen, then drank the cocktail, which was tropical, light, and refreshing. It was designed to evoke memories of the beach, and it delivered. The Clumsies was a lovely find in Athens!

Sat at the bar and enjoyed some unique cocktails along with a shrimp taco. The bartenders were engaging and we had some fun conversations about drinks. It’s a vibrant and atmospheric place to unwind.

Landmark bar. Unassuming from the outside but absolutely heaving inside. Long and surreal cocktail list. Very professional service but due to business not easy to casually chat especially over the noise. Great for a party night out though. A must visit if you take your drinks seriously.

You have to check out this cocktail bar! There's a huge selection of creative and well-crafted drinks for every taste on the menu. A great evening can be enjoyed here in a unique and inviting atmosphere. Even on a Wednesday evening at an early hour, the place was quite full, and we had to wait for a table for four. However, the vibe, the drinks, and the overall experience made it worth it. I highly recommend visiting to soak up the atmosphere and try out the cocktails!

One of the best bars in Athens and also in the world according the 50 Best Bars list. They have a unique menu with a lot of twists. My favorite cocktail was the aegean negroni.

I tried a few times to get into this place but it was always too busy. Don’t even think about making a reservation as they don’t answer the phone- I tried calling six times at different times of the day. Finally the other day we made it in. The cocktails are good. The first one we loved but the second one, not so great. It’s a solid place but I don’t think it’s worthy of all the hype it gets. That said the bartenders are very very good.

We came here based on a friend’s recommendation and because it was voted one of the top three cocktail bars in the world in 2019. We were not disappointed. There’s a great selection of original cocktails and classics, all served in a lovely atmosphere with excellent service. It gets busy, so you may want to book in advance.
