The Best Restaurants in Nashville’s Gulch neighborhood | Eater Nashville

"South Carolina’s cheeky frose purvey, the Co-Op, has brought its boozy frozen concoction to Nashville’s city limits with two locations in the Gulch and Hillsboro Village oozing laid-back coastal charm. And while its wine-soaked slushies are the star attraction, the shop also churns out a variety of crispy salads and hearty sandwiches (like the Cubano with deli chicken, ham, spicy brown mustard, mayo, and pickles on a baguette) along with a variety of breakfast toasts and burritos. You can also opt for a non-alcoholic version of its blend, but take note: the shop is seasonal. It re-opens after a brief winter slumber on March 1." - Eater Staff

Google
We stopped in due to the rave reviews on the sandwiches. Pretty disappointed. The sandwich we tried was the chicken avocado. I was hoping for actual chicken breast and avocado but it was very salty deli meat with avocado spread on a mashed roll. I’m not sure what the high reviews are about. It was not horrible tasting but definitely just a decent deli sandwich but not with fresh ingredients. I wanted to give them a 3 rating but as we did not try the frose which a lot of people were coming to get I kept it a 4.

Clean interior, fast service, good sandwiches. , and of course, great frosé!

Google
Great frosè options, plus the sandwiches are great, and it's kid-friendly (they even have a weekly special for kids and a non-alcoholic option)! I like getting the California Turkey. The kids like the turkey or ham and cheese. Always great service!

We got two flights to try all the flavors and hands down the OG strawberry was the best with the grapefruit as a close second. Did not care for the blueberry mojito or prickly pear. The caprese panini was amazing! The salad was disappointing, lots of toppings but low on the lettuce.

The nicest employees!💖 Love the non-alcoholic Frose slush I got. It was green apple flavor. They have some really cute fashion items for sale too. The decorations here are top notch cute!💗 Some seem Taylor Swift inspired. Nice outdoors area to enjoy the weather while you are eating. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Google
The Co-op is such a treat! We tried the Turkey and Italian sandwiches, both were delicious. The drinks are so unique and what really make the co-op different. We tried the regular strawberry, lavender mix, and blueberry mojito. Can't wait to visit again, we will come for breakfast 💖😄🦩

I have been to the Co-op in Sullivan’s and in IOP. So happy that it had made its way to Chattanooga. We are so fortunate to have it. Chattanooga needed a frose place. I love the vibe and opening weekend seemed to be on point. I have been every day!! LFG Chattanooga!!! PSA…blackberry lavender was my favorite!

Ordered online today to grab breakfast and lunch before heading into work and it was a super easy, fast process. Got the meat breakfast sandwich and it had a great taste with fresh ingredients. I have the Caprese sandwich for lunch and it looks delicious. Also, grabbed one of their $1 drip coffee and enjoyed the coffee bar offerings there that included oat milk. Looking forward to going back and trying the frose and more food selections!

Yelp
The staff was helpful with several frozen options and a good variety of sandwiches to choose from. The frosé was very booze-forward initially, but it became more balanced and drinkable once it melted. It was a lovely day, so we enjoyed our food and flight outside under the shade. The sandwich is really what stole the show - I'm not a vegetarian, but the Veggie Sammie was perfect! It was a decent size (almost too big to fit in your mouth), bursted with flavor, and all of the ingredients appeared very fresh. I will go back for the sandwiches alone, but if I had to pick a fave frosé from the flight, I would pick the OG. The big downside of this place is the price. As much as I dig a fabulous sandwich and a drink, this will hit you in the wallet if you wanted to make a habit of it. On the flip side, though, the restaurant on the corner of the same building is also very pricey so maybe it is par for the clientele/area.

Yelp
I so badly wanted to like this place but my experience convinced me to never go back. I came into pickup my to-go order and the place was empty aside from a family of 3 and myself. The employees didn't even acknowledge my presence for over 5 minutes so I stood at the counter just waiting while they did other stuff before someone finally asked me if I was waiting on my order. Overpriced, mediocre food with small portions and terrible service.

Yelp
I was tired, hungry and hot from a full morning of work. I needed fuel fast. My usual stop had a long line of customers in front of me that I could not tolerate. I popped back out and tried another spot a few doors away. Perfect! There was no line, a warm greeting and a great looking menu still serving breakfast faire. There were just too many healthy sandwiches from which to choose. I picked one and by the time I totally absorbed the fresh atmosphere my selection was hot and ready. There is a featured "Froz" beverage which is frozen wine, but there is a non-alcoholic option which was my choice and delicious. So if you are north Chattanooga, stop in and fill up! You will leave happy like I did!

Yelp
Serving a group of 13 is a challenge at any eatery, so I need to temper my review with the understanding that our scenario was unusual. Even besides our group, the place was slammed. I guess that's a good sign if the locals love it! The frose were very good despite the inevitable brain freeze. 14% ABV packed a punch but it wore off quickly. The food tasted amazing! However... the portions were relatively small, especially at the price point. Unfortunately, it left some members of our group going to CVS next door for some extra snacks.

Yelp
Cute little sandwich shop with frozen wine, what could be better on a warm summer day? There is minimal inside seating and a few picnic tables outside, so if you go during peak times you may have a hard time getting a seat. Service is pretty quick though! Each time we go the food is delicious, but the prices are a killer. $28+ for a sandwich and frozen drink adds up quickly.

Yelp
The Co-Op is one of the newest spots in downtown Chatt, and is definitely a must try! I had been to a couple of the locations in Charleston and it's surrounding areas before and I was so excited when I heard Chattanooga was going to be getting one! My mom and I went for lunch on a Thursday and got the California Turkey sandwich and the cowboy chicken sandwich and they were both delicious! Of course, I had to get some of their famous frosé while there as well. I tried the big orange crush flavor and I highly recommend! My one complaint about this place is that it's a little pricey for a sandwich shop. Our two sandwiches, frosé, a tea and chips was $55 which I thought was a bit much. Despite this, I really like this spot and will definitely be back!

Yelp
I want to preface this review by saying that unfortunately I did not try the frose here just yet! I went hiking and stopped in for a quick lunch, couldn't drink any alcohol cause I was thirsty and exhausted... but next time I'm in! Husband had the Cowboy chicken sandwich and liked it although it was a tad small for his liking. I had the egg salad - bread was good and love sprouts on a sandwich. My complaint was the egg salad was very plain, needed mustard or pickles or simple salt & pepper to me. I'll be back to try a breakfast sandwich next time (they are only available til 11).

Yelp
This place is darling. Although I'm here in February, I can totally see the appeal on a warm summer day. Surprisingly the slushies are not super sweet, which I actually prefer. All around a fun experience!

Yelp
Been following these guys on Instagram for months waiting for them to open! Yesterday they posted opening at 2pm! Threw on a pink dress and headed down to get a frosé!! The place is so cute inside, they staff is fun and got a great vibe! The frosé was delicious! I didn't eat since I ate earlier but i plan on going back today to try some food!! 10/10 recommend!

Yelp
We enjoyed the atmosphere and the bang for your buck goes far! The staff was really friendly and whipped out the sandwiches as quickly as we ordered them. Would recommend as a stop in your evening for the Frosé (14% Abv), or a stop in the morning for breakfast!

Christy N.

Yelp
I'll start with the positives...the staff behind the counter was friendly and the sandwiches came to our table fast, hence the 2 stars. Food was meh, nothing special. Chicken salad tasted like it came from the Ingles deli. I could get a better chicken salad sandwich from anywhere. The cost....2 sandwiches, 2 bags of chips, and 1 beer and 1 Frosé...$62. You can get a better meal at Jimmy John's. The atmosphere....here's where my opinion really hits rock bottom....there was a staff member sitting at a table blasting a webinar. She was also talking to host or members of said Google meet, completely rude! My bf and I couldn't even talk quietly at our table, without the disruption of her webinar. Hey, ever heard of AirPods or ear buds??? Do yourself a favor, go across the street to Tremont and get a dang good burger for a justifiable price. I won't waste my money, time or calories on this below mediocre place.

Yelp
Best chicken salad I have had since my sweet mother passed away. The service was excellent and sitting outside was the perfect setting on a beautiful day. I will be telling others about our experience.

Yelp
My mom and I ate at Co-op for lunch and everything about our experience was wonderful! The staff was super friendly, the food was fast, and delicious! I'll definitely be coming back and next time will have to try the frose! I definitely recommend stopping by and checking out Co-op!

Yelp
Great Frose but not sure if it's a good grade, maybe a cheap wine. Because I had no more than two shots and before I left I had buzz and a headache! Hmmm? Sandwiches are great! Female manager has an attitude that I'm not use to seeing when I go to restaurants. More like a fast food mentality. Little bit more training in customer service for this wonderful new novelty shop of a wine and sandwiches , it deserves upscale employees. For the most part you do have quality employees. She may need some extra guidance. I use to be a food critic. Just giving some helpful feedback. I'll be back! And have frequent several times before.

Yelp
I love Co Op! I'm a regular there and typically come in through out the week to do remote work. The food is great and cooked fresh and the Frose is great for an after work delight. Ashleigh made my sandwich the last time I came in and it was delish! I got the cowboy chicken and it is one of the most delicious sandwiches I've ever had. Ashleigh was so sweet and accommodating and made multiple recommendations that were all great. Definitely a good place to check out!!

Yelp
This place just opened in Riverview. I Stopped in for a sandwich and a frose. The sandwich was amazing (the Cali turkey) and I can now see what all the hype out of Charleston was about with this place. My significant other had the cubano and agreed that it was the best sandwich in Chattanooga. The frose was great as well. Will be back soon!

Yelp
I love this place because the food is quality!!! Then it is awesome to have a frosty Frose! The people are always fun and the staff is so fire! Best place ever! Plus the merch is so fun!!

Yelp
Sandwich was good, but the Caesar salad we ordered was suboptimal. Lettuce looked multiple days old and croutons were stale and chewy. When I called, I was thanked for notifying but not offered any refund etc. Enjoy addition of frose to neighborhood but needs work on the dining.
