Had an early dinner here on a Saturday, we sat outside with our dog. Overall, it was a good experience! You have to order inside, pay, and then carry out silverware/drinks yourself. The food came out pretty quick and everything was tasty - we got the Penang chicken curry, the seafood basil fried rice, the curry puffs, the pad Thai, and the chicken satay. Nothing too special, it was pretty standard and what you’d expect at a Thai restaurant. Parking is a bit of a challenge, but we managed to find a decent street spot. Definitely recommend this place if you’re looking for decent Thai food in midtown

Google
Crazy food here. The food portions were huge and the service was spectacular with the constant check ups on us. Food was generally good! Pad Thai - sweeter than usual but absolutely amazing, I loved that it was friendly for non spicy lovers and still delicious! Green Curry - I eat a lot of Thai Green Curry and the taste was super authentic and lovely. The ingredients were generous as well. BBQ Chicken and Mixed Vegetables - still nice, chicken BBQ flavour was a little weak, the green vegetables was oyster sauce, nice! Tom Yum - decent at best! Too much mushrooms and lacked the usual kick of the Tom Yum. Still good tasting though! Drinks - HUGE and Sweet! Love the Thai Iced Coffee the most! Best part? Affordable!

Alex Parrilla

Google
we ordered the BBQ chicken plate and Mango sticky rice. Everything was delicious, priced fair, and arrived quickly. As someone who tries to eat pretty healthy I was very impressed with the quality and taste. My first time here and I will definitely be back to try some other dishes!

Google
The restaurant certainly pulls in a lunch crowd but I wish I could say I loved my food. Our dishes were not bad, just not memorable. The flavors were heavy on the fish sauce and between our Pad Thai and Thai fried rice (maybe due to the bird flu thing) didn’t see much of any egg. Our rice noodle and Thai coffee was good. One thing of note is that pork does not appear to be one of the protein options here.

Google
Delicious food at reasonable prices. Outdoor seating is great on nice days, with plenty of street parking nearby. The drunken noodles, pad thai, and spring rolls are my favorites, but every dish we’ve tried has been excellent...

Google
The food is always fresh and consistently delicious. Not sure why its taking me this long to write a review. Im only giving a 3 on atmosphere because it is nothing fancy but clean! The staff is always friendly and willing to accommodate. Get there early on a weekend, especially on Sunday. Packs out early. I love that they have fresh flowers on the table every time I have been there. I love this location better than their sister locations on J st and in Elk Grove, but check them all out!

Google
Authentic and flavorful!! Quaint restaurant with the familiar and friendly Thai touch. We were greeted with smiles and delight. Our food was served promptly and the portions were rather large which made it perfect for family-style sharing. It’s a must-try, especially for an evening out with the family.

Google
Food was good. Service was slow, probably because they were busy. She sat us down and didn’t bring water or take order until 10 minutes or more. Got our order pretty quick but then waitress disappeared and didn’t check in or bring us the bill. We had to go find the waitress up front and ask for the tab and request to go containers. Otherwise the atmosphere was good. Nice crowd during lunch hour.
google avatar

Carolyn M.

Yelp
The avocado curry is the best!!! I recommend it highly! Quaint atmosphere. Very nice servers.
google avatar

Yelp
We brought our friend here late last month, after another friend gave us the recommendation. The atmosphere is comfortable. The service was very good, and our server was attentive. The food was delicious as well as a good value. I especially liked the drunken noodles, to which we added shrimp. Enjoy The Coconut On T!

Yelp
Nice little unassuming (nothing fancy) local Thai spot a little off the beaten path in a mostly residential area downtown Sac. They have a decent outdoor seating area in front (parklet) and a good amount of indoor seating for dining. The staff was friendly and efficient throughout our meal. We started with the Spicy Thai salad (with beef) - this had more going on than the usual Larb salad we would get. But, it IS spicy, so know that going in... We love our spicy food, and this was just a bit off, as we could both tell the "fish sauce taste" was pretty overwhelming more so than the other flavors. Next was the red curry dish with chicken. We requested this dish be "Thai spice" heat level, which typically is very spicy. . . The overall flavor was good, but unfortunately, the heat level was pretty flat. The star dish was the eggplant veggie dish. This was full of eggplant, zucchini, bell pepper, onion and broccoli. All sauteed over flame, and was full of cool 'charred' flavor. Definitely worth ordering again.

Yelp
Cute spot! Delicious food. Friendly service. Our food came out hot and fresh! Forgot to take a picture of the mango sweet rice with coconut ice cream! Highly recommend ordering that! Perfect sweet treat!! Portions are hearty and had enough leftovers for lunch! Great prices too!

Yelp
The coconut on T!!! One of my go to places for Thai food in Sacramento! Located on T (duh) right across from Betty wine bar and in a neighborhood! One of the best parts is the home like feel inside! I usually get the chicken pad Thai or the Thai fried rice add shrimp! But truly everything here has always looked and tasted good! They have a cute outdoor patio! Cash preferred! The service has always been good and the ambiance is really nice! Come check this place out!
google avatar

Eric K.

Yelp
I gotta say for Thai place they make an absolutely amazing burger. Definitely try the Thai burger with fries. I know people will be like why are you getting a burger at a Thai place? But it was the best decision I made. The meat had amazing seasoning. The fries were just okay but the burger is worth it!

Thuy L.

Yelp
The food is very delicious, and the prices are reasonable. We enjoy sitting outside when the weather is nice. There's plenty of street parking. I especially like the drunken noodles, pad thai, and spring rolls, but everything we've ordered has been delicious.
google avatar

Shauna f.

Yelp
Great food and flavor! On our chicken orders, they use white meat. Fairly generous portions.
google avatar

Allisa L.

Yelp
Best Thai in Sacramento! We loved coming here when we were locals, now we make sure to eat here any chance we're in town! I'm obsessed with the drunken noodles-spice level hot, and my husband always gets the avocado curry! Both dishes are always fresh, hot, and full of flavor! Staff is always friendly, and service is always quick! Sometimes they do check in deals on drinks too, so make sure to look or see if they have any yelp check in signs when stopping in!

Yelp
Stopped by for a lunch with my girlfriends on a Sunday afternoon! It wasn't too busy around 2:30 so we were seated immediately. The restaurant was cozy and comforting and the waitstaff were so kind and sweet! My friends and I ordered family style and got a Pad see ew with chicken, Pad see ew with beef, Pad thai, and Green curry. I also got a thai tea for myself (so good!). Everything was so delicious!! Both pad see ews were very saucy and flavorful and the noodles were nice and soft. The pad thai was a bit sweeter than what I was used to but it was also saucy and flavorful! The green curry was light and homey with a small kick. The whole meal and getting to eat a little bit of each dish was so satisfying. I would totally recommend this place to anyone in the area craving Thai!

Yelp
This is a staple in our lunch rotation! Every time we're in the mood for a steamy, hot and delicious plate of Thai food we head down to coconut on T. The owners and staff are super sweet and always greet us with the biggest smiles and super fast service. I usually get the see ew with beef or shrimp, but really you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Food: 4/5 Service: 4.5/5 Ambiance: 3.5/5 Marcel's foodie score: 4/5

Yelp
The Coconut has been around ever since I moved to Sac so it is one of the well established Thai restaurants. They have solid food all around. Angel wings: B Stuffed fried chicken wings, I usually love these everywhere I go. These were not bad, I think the meat needs a little more flavor but the sauce helps provide some nice sweetness. Kao soi: B+ Curry noodle soup and I got it with chicken. Loved the broth and all the toppings. The noodles aren't my favorite but they give a huge portion for the price.

Yelp
Came with the ladies for dinner and happy hour on a Friday evening. Ordered a bunch of different things and a glass of Merlot. Our food was really good. The ambiance was nice and it gets really busy. Service was good. Our waiter was so kind and friendly We have to come back.

Yelp
I visited The Coconut on T during the lunch rush hour with colleagues. While there was no indoor seating available, we managed to grab one of the two outdoor tables. The process is straightforward: you order and pay first, and the food is delivered to your table. The service is fast. Great vibe and super busy. Being a fan of Pad Thai at different Thai places, I ordered the chicken Pad Thai. The portion size was generous, and it came with a side of peanuts. The flavor was an excellent balance of savory, sweet, and sour, just perfect. The server also brought a tray of hot sauces and peppers which was a plus! I'll definitely return to check out their dinner menu and see how the crowd is during that time. Overall, it's a great spot for Thai food if you're in the area, but be prepared for potential parking challenges since it's all street parking.

Yelp
I've been a regular for coconut on t for years and YEARS. Was one of my ultimate go to for Thai food for a very VERY long time. However time has passed (I'm talking eight years) and Sacramento has a plethora of amazing Thai places now that coconut on t is no longer the standout. Service has always been great here, great location; and great inside interior with local artist's artwork lining the walls, but the food no longer hits the spot. Just recently the green curry I got was rather bland with not much coconut flavor and a lot of bamboo shoots. Even the chicken within the curry just had no aroma. The pad thai tasted like ketchup and heavy oil with no love put into the dish. It's hard to say if after expanding my horizons I now have a higher expectation for Thai food or if the quality has declined here but either way I can't see myself coming anymore. The prices are relatively decent despite the economy these days - which justifiably you get what you pay for, but i still want flavor.. I feel guilty saying it but just hope the feedback helps possibly revamp the dishes moving forward.

Yelp
First time trying The Coconut on T, but not my first time trying Thai food in Sacramento. I loved this place and I will be coming back again. I got cheese wontons, a salad, chicken pad Thai, and fried rice. The service was excellent, my water was always refilled and the iced tea was refreshing. I know this place is a great spot because it opened at 11:30 and by 11:45 the restaurant was full. The restaurant itself was clean and my water was citrus infused. The whole dining experience was refreshing. I recommend the pad Thai
google avatar

Mikayla M.

Yelp
I got the eggplant with chicken medium spicy and it was delicious. The sauce was flavorful and perfectly spicy and I loved all the veggies. I opted for brown rice and enjoyed it. We also shared the chicken wings and they were perfectly cooked and crispy and I loved the sweet and savory sauce. We also got the fried bananas with coconut ice cream and that was delicious and crisp as well. We will be back for sure. This place gets super busy so the service can be slow but you can tell they are hustling so just be prepared to be patient.
google avatar

Aden G.

Yelp
Pad see ew was salty and lacking the typical smokiness of soy sauce. It tasted more like a barbeque sauce. Fried rice had more veggies than rice and not sure that was intentional. Huge pieces of veggies and some fries rice added. Among the three dishes, this was the best one.Good efforts on trying to feed more veggies. Medium spice red curry was pretty spicy. Flavor was not bad but no wow factor. In all, this meal was OK which translates 3 stars.

Yelp
A Great Meal at a Great Price!! The Coconut on T is a great spot! It's been one of our family's favorites for years. Located on T between 11th and 12th, closeby street parking is usually easy to find and the atmosphere is relaxed and cozy, with warm lighting and lots of nice paintings. On my last visit with two friends, we each had a soda (there are plenty of other options -- including delicious Thai Iced Tea and good beer specials) and shared a Fresh Roll, Avocado Cheese (a fried appetizer that was interesting and filling and came with a nice sauce, but that I wouldn't order again!), Drunken Noodles with Beef (yum!), Yellow Curry with Chicken, and Fried Bananas. Including tip we paid $27 each and even brought some leftovers home! A delicious meal!
google avatar

Yelp
The avacado yellow curry is to die for. also try their fresh rolls the peanut sauce is phenomenal. Best chicken wings I've had in Sacramento as well. 10/10 don't skip this place. It's in my weekly rotation. Good happy hour prices

Yelp
Awesome food especially for recovering from hang overs, trust bae, this spot is a broke college students fever dream

Lisa A.

Yelp
It's so disappointing to see things change at The Coconut. I used to love it so much! I recently went back, and sadly, the food just wasn't the same. My drunken noodles, for example, looked like a generous portion, but it was mostly broth - very watery and lacking that amazing flavor I remembered. The service was fine, except for a bit of a hiccup with the menu pricing. I noticed some prices were different on different menus, and I was charged more than what was listed. The ambiance is still lovely; that cute, intimate atmosphere is what always drew me in. It's such a shame, because it's one of my favorite parts of the restaurant. I'm really hoping things will improve, but unfortunately, I'll probably have to find a new go-to Thai place for now. I really hope you guys can look into these issues!
google avatar

Srini V.

Yelp
It is quaint and unassuming place with plenty of options to choose from. We ordered vegan style. The portion sizes are generous. Prices are reasonable. Good service. Food was tasty. Came on time. Service was good as well.

Yelp
I had one of the worst restaurant experiences of my life here on August 23, 2025. I ordered food at 3:11 PM, and it arrived literally boiling hot in a sealed plastic container. When I opened it, the odor of melted plastic was overwhelming, and the food itself tasted of plastic. After only a small portion, I became dizzy, developed jaw pain, and soon after projectile vomited everything I had eaten. I contacted Poison Control and was advised to report this incident as a food safety hazard. I also submitted official complaints to the City, County, and FDA. When I tried to contact the restaurant, I was initially told I could not speak with the owner or manager. After insisting, I eventually spoke with the owner, Nan. Unsafe packaging that makes customers sick is unacceptable. Serving food still boiling in plastic containers is not just careless--it is dangerous. I will never order from Coconut on T Street again, and I strongly urge others to think twice before trusting their food safety practices.
google avatar

Hilda A.

Yelp
Cute little restaurant in an accessible area, for midtown. Customer service was prompt, and they have a good size menu, with many options to choose from. My group ordered a few items, and overall got mixed reviews. Lacking taste: spring roll (and only offer tofu version), the Thai soup (this one had no coconut milk, and was very bland), pad see we (also very bland) and the pad Thai was basic. What was good: the tilapia plate, and yellow curry, both very good! If I come back, it would only be for these items. The area is full of Thai restaurants and we will try another location next time.
google avatar

Cristian E.

Yelp
Can't go wrong with the food here. Everything my friends and I got looked super good. The menu had a simple set of options on one page which is a huge plus for me personally. On top of that waiter was very kind; he recommended me his favorite entree (Eggplant) and it was delicious. Reminded me of the Thai place I have back home. Definitely want to come again and maybe try the drunken noodles
google avatar

Anusha G.

Yelp
We had such a good experience at Coconut on T! We went right when they opened at noon, so it wasn't bus. But I've also been when they're packed and they do a pretty good job at getting you a table quickly. The restaurant itself is clean and has ample seating. The tables might be a ~little~ small especially if you're sharing food but nothing too dramatic Now to the food - we got the drunken noodles w tofu, eggplant curry, and the basil fried rice. All three were delicious. The basil fried rice was my favorite. So flavorful and packed w veggies that were very well cooked. The eggplant was also delicious. I wish there was more actual eggplant in the dish rather than other veggies because it was so soft and flavorful. The drunken noodles were good too but definitely my least favorite of the dishes we tried. They had a really good texture but were just not as flavorful as the other dishes. A special mention needs to be given for the portions here! They are so generous and very reasonably priced compared to other restaurants in Sac. The staff is also very kind and attentive. I will definitely be back!
google avatar

Erik F.

Yelp
We come here fairly frequently and love the quiet intimacy and great food. Wait staff very kind and even exchanged a wine that wasn't to our taste. Highly recommend for a nice Thai restaurant perfectly intimately sized! And 2 dollar beers and 2 dollars off appetizers until 6.
google avatar

Joel M.

Yelp
My wife and I were out in Sacramento after as medical appointment and we're hungry and low blood sugar. We looked at several restaurants and remembered Coconut On T. The food has always been freshly made, perfectly seasoned, wholesome and tasty. And it still is! We keep coming back again and again.
google avatar

Heather C.

Yelp
Pad see ew - supposed to taste of basil, she assured me there was plenty of basil. This was the most bland dish. The noodles had absolutely no taste and nothing else in the dish made up for it. The onion was the most overpowering item. Pineapple red curry - the sauce was good but everything was boiled so each individual item was bland with no taste and undercooked. Eggplant dish - lacked flavor and we had to ask for soy sauce Fried rice dish was very basic, usually this is an extremely popular item. Also plain Even the hot water we ordered had remnants of coffee?? Or something The best item we ordered was the coconut shrimp 10/10 Very sad to say this was a horrendous experience. We were starving, hadn't eaten all day and know that this place has great reviews - I'm not sure what will make this up. They weren't busy at all, but the lady was short with us and not helpful
google avatar

Bob H.

Yelp
Place is packed on a Thursday afternoon at lunch. And for good reasons. The food service and location. When I come to Sacramento I have to stop here. Usually get a curry. And guess what mango special curry. Usually get the avocado curry which is amazing. Good beer selection too. My favorite Thai restaurant and I have tried them all over
google avatar

Mind Fi T.

Yelp
Great food! The best cream cheese wontons I have ever had!! Also the Yellow Curry chicken if you like it hot get the Thai Spicy you will not be disappointed!!
google avatar

Federico M.

Yelp
I went to this spot with some coworkers during lunch hour since it's just a short walk from our office. The atmosphere is casual and perfect for a quick break. I tried the curry shrimp and drunken noodles, and both were absolutely delicious. A great choice for a satisfying and quick lunch near work!"
google avatar

Sienna S.

Yelp
I have missed thai food so much since going gluten free and I loved discovering this spot! They have very clearly marked allergens on their menu for both vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free items. Almost all of their menu is gluten free and I was not used to having so many options! It was a lovely experience. I alerted my waiter that I needed all of my food prepared gluten free and they made a note for the kitchen for me. Their pad thai is to die for! I'm still drooling over it several weeks later. I can't wait to go back!
google avatar

Monisha M.

Yelp
This was my first visit and upon entering we were greeted by Huy. He was very friendly and helpful. Definitely knows how to make his customers smile. The food was great and price was very reasonable. They have an outdoor patio seating surrounded by flowers. I was very impressed by this place and definitely recommend it. I will definitely be coming here again.

Yelp
This place has been on my list ever since I went a couple years ago. Finally made it back and tried some new dishes and it's just as good as I remembered it to be. Generous portions, super flavorful, can't go wrong on anything you order. This time I ordered the avocado green curry. I was expecting avocado to be integrated into the curry base but the dish just means you get two avocado halves in slices sitting on top of your curry. It did not change the flavor of the curry at all but since I ordered a hot spice level, the bites of avocado helped balance the spice. The star of the show at the end of it all was the mango sticky rice with ice cream. We shared it 3-ways and it was just the best end to our meal, especially since we all got hot spice levels. One of the best mango sticky rice desserts I have had. Service this time was sort of slow, but this is a pretty casual eatery so nothing I'm surprised by.
google avatar

Gigi J.

Yelp
Service was super friendly but quite inefficient. We had 6 dishes total, 2 appetizers and 4 mains. They brought them out all at once! Uuh, we're supposed to enjoy appetizers first and then make room for the mains after. Did not appreciate this, and the table had no space! Not enjoyable at all, they actually did themselves a disservice. Also, we had to stack the empty, dirty plates on top of each other. Not once did they clear the table. The dirty plates stayed there after we paid and left. Not a good look at all. Food was subpar, chicken wings were the worst flavor drenched in goo. Only items I liked were the shrimp cashew and papaya salad, thankfully there were a lot of cashews and peanuts. Not my pick and not eager to return when there's an abundance of better thai places around. Thank you, next ...

Yelp
I have been here a few times before but slacked on writing coconut a great review. Managed to take photos this time cause I'm usually took eager / hungry to wait. The food here is delicious and wait time is low; granted the times I have been here it was not peak service times. As someone that cannot handle spicy foods I order medium cause it is more flavorful than imma hurt spice. But they do have a no spicy option up to Thai hot as well. The staff is friendly and attentive. This is a casual place so feel free to wear the comfy clothes if needed.

Sam N.

Yelp
One of the worst Thai places I've ever been to. The Tom Yum tasted like watery canned tomato soup with chunks of raw onion, overcooked chicken and a smattering of cilantro on top. No galangal, kaffir leaves, Thai chili or garlic. The green curry was watery with zero heat. They used dry microwaved overcooked chicken, tiny cubes of purple eggplant (not Thai white eggplant), only two small pieces of bamboo shoots, and a heaping serving of broccoli which doesn't belong in Thai green curry. The saddest part was that there was no depth to the actual curry. None of those traditional Thai flavors. Drunken noodles had zero heat, was overly sweet and again full of broccoli which doesn't belong in this dish. The noodles were overcooked and mushy, and the beef was rubbery. Overall this is the worst Thai food I've ever eaten. I've had better Thai food in mall food courts. 0/10
google avatar

Sofia G.

Yelp
Officially my favorite place for Thai food! Quick service and delicious!! My favorite dessert instantly became the mango sticky rice with coconut ice cream. Today I had the Kao Soi chicken which is like a curry with noodles, and the mixed vegetables entree. Both excellent choices! As far as ambiance, inside was a little warm and dimly lit, decorations are simple, they have art for sale on the walls.
google avatar

Sorrel B.

Yelp
By far, hands-down, best Thai food and olive Sacramento area. I've been eating here for years and their sister restaurant the drunken noodle and they have yet to ever disappoint. The food is always so fresh and so tasty.
google avatar

Bea S.

Yelp
It was ok. We ate here before a Tyler the creator concert. We ate outside because there were three middle schoolers and they don't like to be confined to sitting so this was a great option. BD had larb. It was more of a typical salad and with the meat on top. I had noodles and the kiddo had yellow curry. Everything was fine. Not the best I've had, it seemed kinda Americanized. But I hear people love this place, like it's an institution. I'm glad I tried it but there are other options, plenty of other options for Thai. Customer service was top notch! Patient, friendly, helpful. And they understood my Thai which is always nice
google avatar

Matthew G.

Yelp
So good. Great amount of food for yer price. Star was attentive, service was fast and friendly. Atmosphere was fun. Add everything was delicious. Highly recommend the drunken noodles!
google avatar

Florence K.

Yelp
Pretty decent Thai food in Sacramento. We stopped here on the way back to SF. The portions are huge and service was quick.
google avatar

Allen S.

Yelp
This place has always been good the many times i've gone. I recommend getting some fried rice or chow fun style dish with beef. If you can handle spice then you should add the peppers, i prefer then fish sauce hot pepper. The service is usually great, i recommend trying to beat the dinner rush so come a little sooner or a lot later. Ambiance is great, the tables could be upgraded but for the most part they are clean and great. This is my staple thai food place.
google avatar

Camille C.

Yelp
Wanted some Thai and it was late (like 9pm or so) but we weren't starving. So we decided to stop for appetizers and were really impressed with this restaurant. SN: They were surprisingly busy for a weeknight which I felt was a good sign. Food was fresh, service was prompt (but could have been a bit more friendly) and I geeked at how they serve their fresh spring rolls. Like cut roll sushi--so cute yet practical!! Loved it! Made the dipping (or should I say dunking ) in the peanut sauce so much easier. Calamari was crisp and the garlic Parmesan fries order was ginormous! Definitely made for sharing. Would say this is a place you'd want to visit in the downtown Sac area. Great food, great vibe and overall great experience.
google avatar

Abigael Osana T.

Yelp
This is the best (and my favorite) Thai spot in Sac! It never fails me. The food is delicious and the staff is quick and kind! It can get busy, so be aware of that! I also never fail to show up at a time they're not open, so make sure to check their times as well

Yelp
Ordered takeout from this location. This was my first experience here. It was recommended to me by many of my friends who frequent Thai food restaurants. I ordered the green avocado curry. Flavor was good however I believe the broccoli in it release too much water and diluted The taste for me. The rice was good. I picked this order up myself and found the location was very, very nice. In a very intimate part of town. Great for a date night. The service was excellent. I only wish that my curry was spicier. According to the gentleman who took my order, this was a spicy as they can make it. I would return here and dine in next time to embrace the fullness of this restaurant.
