The Stunning NoMad Arrives in Downtown LA | Eater LA

"A gold‑wrapped, mirror-and-marble counter with a Parisian cafe sensibility offering quick morning caffeine and light pastries, European‑style standing bars, and a gentle evening shift into wine and cocktails; it also conceals a small hideaway bar that becomes visible after sunset." - Farley Elliott

Google
The Coffee Bar is absolutely delightful. Immediately upon entering I was greeted with a smile and background on the location from the cashier/barista. Love an engaging team! ☺️ I had a hot latte with cinnamon honey and oat milk, and a croissant muffin with raspberry filling - as a Brit, this is a dream. The quality was/is to LIVE for!! Chef’s kiss. This was my first time but certainly not my last! As a plus, it was perfect to have my morning meetings and the calming jazz music was just the cherry on top. Thank you Coffee Bar for being so warm and welcoming! 💖

Plenty of parking. Came in to buy their whole beans, they offer to grind it for you if needed be. I prefer to grind my own though, but nice to have the option!

Great fare in a lively atmosphere. The coffee (flat white) was creamy, the perfect temperature to taste the profile, and the canele was piping hot and crispy around the edges, as it should be. There was a group of knitters chilling with their projects; super cozy and welcoming shop. Looking forward to try the next lot of varietal coffees!

Google
Stumbled upon this gem for morning coffee. Parking was plentiful. It’s in a cool-looking plaza near a school in a great neighborhood.so, can’t go wrong with that. It was cool to see a coffee shop that actually uses their roaster. I feel like other places just have it for decoration. They were really nice and happy to teach me the process. I asked a lot of questions bc I had never seen a coffee bean roaster before. I want to go back to try all the different honey flavors, and other drinks. Also, I recommend the cannel (?) some muffin thing.

Google
The loveliest little coffee shop 5 mins from LAX. Bright & open energy, with local art and tasty pastries. Recommended!

UPDATE Did laundry as excuse to come back, same quality as first time. More flavor options, my banana chocolate chip cookie was delightful. ORIGINAL The coffee is as fresh roasted as fresh roasting can be. I thought I had my best coffee at a crepe restaurant in Lawndale than I came here. I also really liked the people working there, it was like being in a small town coffee shop with the LA high end quality foofoo coffee. There is a lemon vanilla honey, I imagine it is amazing with tea selections. There were some pastries, seems made by a local baker, I bought an Oreo blondie for later, it was nice also. There are also fresh teas here. I was at the coin laundromat in same plaza, which was ok, but quite honestly I would go back to do laundry just as an excuse to drink coffee or tea here.

Google
My favorite coffee by FAR in the area! I go every weekend. The espresso is a perfect roast for me, not too burnt and they roast it there. They have a variety of honey based syrups to choose from too. The atmosphere is super peaceful and chill. The people working here are so sweet also and they seem to have fun events for the community.

Google
Literally the best coffee. Roast their beans in house. Syrups made in house. Such an unassuming place. Wife loved the matcha. Bought some beans, the decaf was made using a sugarcane decaffeinating process? Very cool, will be back

Yelp
I originally found The Coffee Bar because a super cute book truck I'd been wanting to visit was parked outside for their birthday celebration in August. Well, well, well... what a delightful surprise for me! Not only did I finally find the book truck but of course I also found a fantastic new coffee shop that I'll definitely be returning to! The Coffee Bar has a well-rounded menu with something for everyone. From matcha (yes, that's of course what I ordered) to lattes and plenty of other drinks in between. Prices are very reasonable, especially considering the quality, and my drink was smooth, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. It seems like the kind of place where you can count on a good cup every time. The staff deserve their own shout out because everyone I interacted with was kind, welcoming, and genuinely seemed to enjoy working there - even when it was super busy for the birthday celebration! There is also seating both inside and out, which makes this an *even better* coffee shop! Whether you're settling in with a laptop to get some work done, bringing a book for a cozy solo morning, catching up with a friend, or just savoring your coffee quietly, The Coffee Bar is ready for it all! And, I was most appreciative of the public restroom. So, what started as a quick stop for a book truck turned into a potential new go to coffee spot. I'm so glad I found this place, I'll definitely be back again and again.

Yelp
Certainly lovin' the vibes; nothing complicated just slow space to sit and chill. Despite sitting within the indoor area, the well-lit space with wide-open door gave that outdoorsy ambiance. Having their own roastery, I could really taste the high quality coffee. It did feel like a steal in this economy getting a 12oz latte served with 4 espresso shots and paying still a single digit price. If you're worried of having too much caffeine, it's customizable either reducing the shots or going decaf. They also had bunch of housemade syrup options, some of which were quite uncommon like the Lemon Vanilla I tried. I wouldn't call it my fave as it's quite strange for my palate having citrusy taste in my cup of joe, but at least I got my curiosity answered. Prolly next time would go more mainstream with honey or cinnamon!

Yelp
THE COFFEE BAR is a great coffee shop that can be found in a semi-hidden shopping center in the heart of El Segundo. It's not on the main thoroughfare (Main Street) but is near a school so it's convenient to parents. Though I say "hidden", it's not, really. With a large free parking lot and easy to find, it's a great shop for employees of the large corporations surrounding El Segundo. The cashier and barista are super nice, super friendly. The CORTADO was strong, creamy and not tart. There are plenty of indoor dining chairs.

Yelp
The Coffee Bar hits all the marks and then some. Was in search of coffee after a workout in the area and stumbled on The Coffee Bar. First impression: super homey and welcoming. Small coffee shop with vintage vibes (there was a vintage clothing sale inside). There was a woman doing cross stitch at one table, another working on a laptop at the counter, and a couple healthy plants to round out the decor. Loved it! What we ordered: - Cortido (hot, creamy, delish) - Flat White (hot, nutty, and yummy) - Lemon Vanilla Latte (hot, with almond milk, so freakin good. the lemon flavor was strong but not overwhelming. it honestly taking like I was drinking a lemon loaf/cake of some sort. Loved it so much that I ordered the iced version to take for the road. A must try). Next time I'm in the area, I'm coming back for sure! Tips: - plenty of parking in the plaza lot - small circular tables available for seating, more likely to take your order to go - super clean and airy bathroom, but there is only one so you might have to wait your turn - did I mention that you need to try the lemon vanilla latte? haha

Yelp
I enjoyed this little coffee shop. It's very baby new. The service provided was exceptional. Conversation about their coffee was light and easy going. I loved seeing the option on their menu as a Barista's Choice. Some times I can be indecisive and will say, "dealers choice". What I was given was their popular drink. It was a cinnamon latte. To me it reminded me more of the cereal milk of sugary cornflakes or like an horchata. It was good, but something that didn't overly impressed me to stand out from other coffee shops I frequent. The drink wasn't a dud, it just missed the mark for me. I do look forward to going back and trying out their many other drinks. BTW, they offer other options for milk that they don't charge extra for. This is a huge deal in the coffee community and much appreciated from a customers perspective.

Yelp
We stopped by The Coffee Bar in El Segundo after a nearby workout--always on the hunt for new coffee spots, especially when we're in a different part of town. This one came highly recommended by our friend Eddie, who knows his coffee, so we had high hopes going in. The shop is tucked into a small strip plaza that also houses a laundromat and a Mexican restaurant, and there's a large parking lot, which makes pulling in and out stress-free--a big plus in L.A. The space itself is pretty small with limited seating, and when we arrived, they had a thrift store pop-up going on inside, which made for some fun browsing while we waited for our order. Definitely added to the vibe. Here's what we got: - Miori ordered the Lemon Vanilla Latte (hot)--it was so good, we ended up ordering a cold version to go before we left. - I had the Almond Cortado--smooth, balanced, and just the right size post-workout. - Eddie went with a Flat White with regular milk, which got his stamp of approval. We grabbed a table outside since the indoor seating was full, and folks inside seemed pretty settled in (shoutout to the lady sipping her coffee while hand stitching and reading a book--living the dream). Coffee was excellent, and while we didn't get to try any pastries (the ones we wanted were already sold out), we're definitely coming back to explore more of the menu. Prices were super reasonable--all three drinks came out to under $20, which felt like a win. The staff was polite, and service was quick even with the extra foot traffic from the thrift sale. One heads-up: there's just one all-gender restroom, and it was being used as a changing room for the vintage shoppers when I needed it, so there was a bit of a wait. Highlights: - Great coffee, especially the Lemon Vanilla Latte - Reasonably priced (3 drinks under $20) - Fun thrift pop-up added to the charm - Large parking lot = easy access - Friendly staff and quick service Things to note: - Very limited seating inside - Restroom might double as a changing room during events - Popular pastries may sell out early The Coffee Bar is a cozy little gem in El Segundo--great for a quality coffee run with some character. Looking forward to going back for round two (and hopefully snagging a pastry next time).

Yelp
I was staying in the area and looking for a good coffee. I just happened to drive by to find this place and decided to try. Very good coffee at a cute decor inside. They sell beans here and if I were living in the area, I would also buy a bag of beans.

Yelp
I don't know how I have missed this cute little coffee shop but now that I know I'm telling everyone! They have their own syrups and it's so cool and different. The chocolate croissant was so yummy ! Also they gave us all of their old burlap sacks to use for my nephew's kindergarten gardening class. They are very sweet and so friendly!

Yelp
Stopped by this morning for an oat milk latte. Basic, right? That's what I thought until I took my first sip. NOT basic. This may sound dramatic, but this is the coffee you've been looking for. I think I swooned at my first taste. Honestly I had no idea a cup of coffee could taste so good, and I've been drinking coffee for a loooong time. My morning went from blah to bright. Now I understand why I see the same motorcycle cop there every morning. It's so good, it's addictive. I took my cup to go, but the store front is cute-lots of little tables- great place to study or work. Compostable cups and lids, thanks! No upcharge for oat milk, much appreciated. And they roast their own beans- which must be why the coffee is so magical.

Yelp
I've always been a fan of Skillet and Whisk's coffee beans so I was stoked to find out they were opening a coffee shop in El Segundo last year! I've been a handful of times since then, and their coffee has always been solid. The ambience is super chill and never busy whenever I go and the baristas have always been so friendly and helpful. Definitely check it out if you want some good locally roasted coffee!

Yelp
Don't listen to the negative reviews , came here on Mother's Day Vey nice clean location, since it's new the parking lot had plenty of space for parking, there's a laundry mat and a Mexican restaurant on the same strip Now back to the coffee, the service is 5/5, pleasant young ladies who let me and my spouse know what they had and didn't have in stock as they are still new , house made syrups and very calm diverse music. Not that crappy loud Starbucks music!! They even have seating out front!! Had a " romance book bar" which is a voltswagon that was converted into a lil book truck full of romance Novals!!!

Yelp
Tried their iced vanilla latte after I dropped off my kids to 2 schools. Loved their drink with their homemade syrups. The staff were very nice and helpful too! Would definitely come back now that school started again. I often see other parents hang-out there after drop off!

Yelp
Customer service lacks warmth and is uninviting. The reaction we got from the woman with curl hair was confrontational and carried a sense of entitlement bc she "works there." They have a small space on the counter where the menu is and take orders, a plastic display container that is shoulder+ height , and apparently where they also give out ready drinks. It was our first time and we were looking down reading the menu asking for house syrup recommendations when said lady shoved her arm between my bfs body and the display container, where there was little to no room to do so, to grab a ready drink sitting next to the POS setup. My bf asked for personal space - so calmly that she didn't hear him and as she walked away she asked, what did you say? I repeated for him since he was still focused on reading the menu saying - he asked for her personal space. She said "I work here." Lol. I can't help but laugh as I type this - bc that makes it better? That makes it even worse that you couldn't wait a few seconds for the order to be placed and/or accept when someone asks for personal space vs reacting as if it's an optional ask to respect or not. We said nvm thanks and walked out without finishing the order.

Yelp
I usually get my drinks to go from this location, but today chose to enjoy the ambiance of the cafe. They have plenty of outdoor and indoor seating. The inside is quiet, so easy to get work done. While the matcha is just decent, I enjoy the fact that their syrups are made in house. And unique, like the lemon vanilla. Oh and their customer service is very friendly! Would definitely recommend this place!

Yelp
This coffee shop is nestled in a great location, serving up vibes as charming as a vintage record player). But beware, if you're craving a menu that's 100% intact, you might be left longing. Only about 75% of the offerings are available. I ordered a Cortado. The coffee was okay. Nothing special. The ambiance is cute, with cozy corners perfect for people-watching and hanging out with friends; However, the staff seem to think they're auditioning for the Loud Talkers' Olympics. Unless you've got a pair of noise-canceling headphones that could drown out a rock concert, studying here might be a bit of a challenge. Still, if you're looking for a charming spot to sip your coffee and watch the world go by (and possibly engage in some lip-reading practice), this place might be worth a visit.

Yelp
Love the coffee here! I only get my freshly roasted beans from here to take home. They make all of their syrups in-house, and all are honey based. Service is always friendly and great, and if you get a chance to meet the owner John, he is awesome.
google avatar

Erin O.

Yelp
Super excited to try this new coffee place in town. They make their own raw honey syrups!
google avatar

Mars A.

Yelp
So happy this is minutes from my home. The staff is super friendly. They started holding cute and fun little events. The coffee is delicious and they also make their own syrups! A big plus is they don't charge extra for milk alternative. I'm so happy this place exists!

Lisa S.

Yelp
Excellent oat milk latte! Very rich and high quality flavored beans. You can tell the beans were recently roasted. Love that they roast their own! One of the best lattes in El Segundo. Rivals Two Guns for sure!
google avatar

Ashly V.

Yelp
Cute local coffee shop. They dont use usual sweetners which is nice! They make their own with honey. By the time i went they had limited pastries so i recommend getting there early!

Doral B.

Yelp
The vibe in this place felt.. off? The girl at the counter was nice but overall it felt off. All three working there were having private conversations while we stood there. I got a matcha and asked for almond milk and cinnamon powder. It was my fault for not looking before I left but I didn't get any cinnamon powder on it and there was a lot of foam resulting in less of a drink. Again I should have checked because I could feel that the cup was light.
google avatar

Samantha P.

Yelp
I've been here twice and both times I have had a great experience. Personally as a latte drinker I love that they make their own flavored syrups with honey in house. This alone will keep me coming back. Bonus would be if they added in some gluten free baked goods options.
google avatar

A O.

Yelp
My first time at this coffee location. I held a business meeting and spent over an hour there working and meeting. I was able to get a sense of the great vibe this place has. It feels more like a community than just a coffee shop. The beans are also all roasted on site and the coffee and other goods are top notch. I felt good spending my money on a small business than one of the other chain coffee shops. A must visit.

Erica M.

Yelp
This coffee shop is a great place to get some quiet work done. It often seems kind of slow, so I'd love for more people to discover this place. The coffee is good, they have an area where they have some interesting retail, and they have outside vendors come in from time to time. If you haven't checked this place out, I think it worth the drive.

Lisa C.

Yelp
I vacation here at beach every year & I have finally found this gem of a cute coffee shop that is NOT Starbucks. I got a latte with oat milk and let's just say, this will be my go to coffee for the next 2 weeks. Taste so much better than Starbucks. It's just a bonus that the staff is so friendly. They also sell their coffee grounds & beans. So smooth

Brittany W.

Yelp
Love this coffee shop! Everyone is so nice, great vibe and the coffee is incredible! Anytime we have family or friends in town, we walk here for a coffee and croissant. The iced lemon vanilla oat milk latte--incredible if you're looking for some sweet, strong and unique! It's sweetened with their homemade raw honey. So excited to have this great coffee shop in the neighborhood!

David O.

Yelp
Great neighborhood coffee shop. Everything we get is always amazing. Staff is super friendly and welcoming!

Lauren W.

Yelp
Perfect spot to grab a coffee on a walk through the neighborhood. Really smooth espresso and a good variety of flavored honey to add to your drink. Very friendly staff!
