We stopped by The Coffee Bar in El Segundo after a nearby workout--always on the hunt for new coffee spots, especially when we're in a different part of town. This one came highly recommended by our friend Eddie, who knows his coffee, so we had high hopes going in.
The shop is tucked into a small strip plaza that also houses a laundromat and a Mexican restaurant, and there's a large parking lot, which makes pulling in and out stress-free--a big plus in L.A.
The space itself is pretty small with limited seating, and when we arrived, they had a thrift store pop-up going on inside, which made for some fun browsing while we waited for our order. Definitely added to the vibe.
Here's what we got:
- Miori ordered the Lemon Vanilla Latte (hot)--it was so good, we ended up ordering a cold version to go before we left.
- I had the Almond Cortado--smooth, balanced, and just the right size post-workout.
- Eddie went with a Flat White with regular milk, which got his stamp of approval.
We grabbed a table outside since the indoor seating was full, and folks inside seemed pretty settled in (shoutout to the lady sipping her coffee while hand stitching and reading a book--living the dream).
Coffee was excellent, and while we didn't get to try any pastries (the ones we wanted were already sold out), we're definitely coming back to explore more of the menu.
Prices were super reasonable--all three drinks came out to under $20, which felt like a win. The staff was polite, and service was quick even with the extra foot traffic from the thrift sale.
One heads-up: there's just one all-gender restroom, and it was being used as a changing room for the vintage shoppers when I needed it, so there was a bit of a wait.
Highlights:
- Great coffee, especially the Lemon Vanilla Latte
- Reasonably priced (3 drinks under $20)
- Fun thrift pop-up added to the charm
- Large parking lot = easy access
- Friendly staff and quick service
Things to note:
- Very limited seating inside
- Restroom might double as a changing room during events
- Popular pastries may sell out early
The Coffee Bar is a cozy little gem in El Segundo--great for a quality coffee run with some character. Looking forward to going back for round two (and hopefully snagging a pastry next time).
