Where to Eat in San Juan, Where Restaurants Aren’t Just Rebuilding—They’re Thriving | Bon Appétit

"You’re gonna need to stay caffeinated to get through all this eating. Luckily, San Juan is home to a bonafide coffee boom. Island coffee crops are still in recovery, but local shops supplement local beans with mainland roasters to keep the espresso flowing. There are two main draws atCafé con Cé: cult Gustos Reserva beans and a killer patio.Café Comuniónis run by a bona fide latte art champion runs this coffee shop, so expect frothy cortados. Hit up O.G. single-origin spotDon Ruizfor perfect pour-overs with house roasted beans, then walk through Viejo San Juan toSpiga, an Italian-ish café that takes its sourdough as seriously as its espresso. End your coffee crawl atCafé Cuatro Sombras, which has been growing Arabica beans in the Yauco mountains since 1846. They’re best in cortaditos." - ByAliza Abarbanel

Excellent little coffee spot, had a great ham and cheese croissant as well as the pan au chocolate with my double shot espresso and machiato tradicionale. The place itself was nice and quiet, the local construction not as much but my wife and I had a laugh that whatever tool there were using sounded like the horn of Gondor. Prices quite reasonable, would not hesitate to go back

I tell you that you will not be disappointed!!! My blended matcha was delicious!! I stumbled upon this cute fresh spot while walking the stunning streets of old San Juan. I was craving something sweet and refreshing and needed to charge my phone. This little spot delivered on both accounts. It is clean and fresh with a very simplistic decor which is clean and relaxing. I ordered on a pad which was quick and efficient. My drink was prepared quickly and with genuine care. And it did not disappoint! It was cold sweet and refreshing. A much needed treat, the barista even offered to remake it if for some reason I was not satisfied which I thought was a sweet gesture. However, there was no need. So when in old San Juan and in need of a cute refreshing space to grab a drink and catch a quick charge I would totally recommend this little spot. A place for travelers and locals alike. Such a vibe 🇵🇷❤️

Please subscribe to my YouTube channel aboricualifeinusa. Nice small place in the heart of old San Juan.It looks like its locally owned but its from a global franchise. The coffee is from a local farm.Coffee is a bit pricy but it was good.

I ordered an iced vanilla and a mango matcha from here. I LOVED my order and I would definitely come back. The service was good and quickly as I waited around 4 minutes and the place was so cute and aesthetic!!

Excellent coffee and great service — truly one of the best cafés in Old San Juan. The True White stands out as my personal favorite. Highly recommended for anyone who appreciates quality coffee in a charming setting.

The Coffee in Old San Juan is a minimalist haven with a focus on simplicity and great coffee. The modern aesthetic is clean and inviting, though it comes at a slightly higher price point. We ordered from the Hot Purists Menu, enjoying a Cappuccino. We also sampled the Iced Chocolate and a Matcha Iced Latte from the Cold Purists Menu. All drinks were expertly crafted and full of flavor. The service was surprisingly quick, thanks to the efficient tablet ordering system. The atmosphere was relaxed and pleasant, making it a great spot to unwind and enjoy a good cup of coffee. Overall, we had a positive experience at The Coffee. While a bit pricey, the quality of the coffee and the unique ambiance make it worth a visit if you're in Old San Juan.

Que lugar tan genial! Absolutely loved it here. The coffee is delicious, the matcha exquisite. We came twice on the same day. Definitely recommend. Quality coffee, perfectly made and with care.

I had high hopes for this place The aesthetics are nice and the drinks looked really good on the menu. However when I received my matcha it was one of the worst I’ve ever had. I ordered a coconut Matcha and when i received my drink it look nothing like the photo. It was matcha mixed with coconut water and it’s very pricy almost 8$! For a small cup. I can make better coffee at home. There are a lot better options for a cheaper price in the area.
