"Thanksgiving lunch at the Colony Grill Room. It even sounds legit, doesn’t it? All you need is a disapproving ex-US army father and an ambition to make biodegradable surf boards in California and you’re basically living the American dream. Anyway, kick off this confusing fantasy with their £65 Thanksgiving set menu. There’s a truffle-topped quail caesar salad, pumpkin risotto, turkey and trimmings, and of course pecan pie. If big birds aren’t your thing then there’s also a vegetarian menu complete with your old friend nut roast." - jake missing

There are plenty of big red leather booths, crisp pink tablecloths, and black and white portraits of Hollywood screen sirens to make you feel appropriately Mayfair fancy. But there are also breakfasts that’ll shut your stomach up until dinner time.
