The Commodore

Swung by after having dinner at Maialina, and was thrilled with the vibe. Super chill, laid back. Live Jazz music really set a cool tone. I hade the Old Fashion and my wife had the Espresso Martini, both were really well made and the bartender was kind. A couple neat touches, like the check coming inside a children's book and a guest book using AIM log in. Just a good time. Will be going back.

The commodore is a cool spot and oozes speakeasy. From it’s secret entrance to it’s dim litigating, great addition to Fountain Square! The old fashion was strong and flavorful, nice citrus mix. The food was great, strongly recommend the curly fries. The bar tenders were great, would definitely recommend for a nice date night.

I love the speakeasy vibe but the drinks and service make this rating a five out of five. Enjoyed an Old Fashioned in a relaxing corner of the bar enjoying a bright and sunny playlist.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting The Commodore, and I must say, it is hands down the best speakeasy I've ever been to. From the moment I walked in, I felt like I had stepped back in time to the days of Prohibition. One of the things that stood out to me was the amazing selection of cocktails. The Old Fashioned and White Russian were both exceptional, perfectly crafted with just the right amount of ingredients to create a rich, full-bodied taste. I highly recommend trying both if you get the chance. Another unique feature of The Commodore is its hidden entryway. It adds an air of mystery and excitement to the experience, and makes it all the more special. Once you find the entrance, you'll be transported to a whole new world, one where the rules of society are a little looser and anything seems possible. I should also note that if you want to enjoy The Commodore, it's best to get there before 8 pm. After that, the crowds start to pour in and it can get quite busy. But trust me, it's worth the effort to make it there early. Overall, The Commodore is a true gem of a speakeasy. From the delicious drinks to the hidden entrance, it has everything you could want in a bar. If you're a fan of classic cocktails and a unique, vintage atmosphere, then The Commodore is definitely the place for you.

The best cocktail bar in all of Indianapolis. I started coming here when only those who knew someone knew about that place. Now it’s pretty well know to be the best. The interior has a relaxed but upbeat mood to it and the bartenders are second to none at their craft. I doubt you’ll find a better drink anywhere in Indiana! If you don’t see what you like on the menu, just let them know what you’re into and they will give you the best they have!

Commodore is one of those “secret” gems that never disappoints. The dim lighting and rotating themes always make for a fun and immersive experience. On my last visit, the spooky theme was in full effect, complete with smoky vapor swirling around, and the drinks and ambience matched the vibe perfectly. Tyler, along with all the bartenders, is a true master of the trade. They consistently deliver exceptional cocktails with precision and creativity. After years of coming here, I can confidently say I’ve never had a bad experience. Whether you’re in the mood for something classic or experimental, Commodore is always a prime spot to indulge in a great night out.
