Google
A cool spot. Not too big or too small. A good variety of beers on tap. Flights available. A small bite menu but pizza around the corner. Friendly and helpful bar tender. A patio out back that let's you walk past the brewing center. Really just a neat place to chill.

I went here the other day with a friend and ordered a bunch of 5-oz pours of different beers. First of all, this was definitely the way to go about it for me, since I wanted to try as many as possible but a single flight wasn't gonna cut it. I basically had two flights' worth of beers, but a great variety. Each of the beers was top-notch and the environment is quaint, comfy, and unboastful-- just what I look for in a brewery. The bartender may have also been the brewer, because he knew everything about each of the beers, said just enough, and was charming in doing so. Strongly recommend this locale to the discerning beer quaffer.

Google
Naughty, naughty! 😉. Nice casual atmosphere with 8 taps available during my visit. Can you tell that I love their Naughty black IPA, the favorite of my visit? Good food from Comet Pizza next door can be ordered from inside the brewery. Very good soft pretzel with beer cheese is a nice shareable treat.

Google
It's not what you'd expect. There's lots of parking in back! Go here to have brewed beer with the unusual twist of flair a local brew should. What is great is the feel of locale it gives. Dogs are welcome spring through summer outside in the large back area. This spot plays average music and works well with all ages. Come by!

Robert S.

Google
Nice Dog Friendly Patio! Great beer and music, friendly staff, and very dog friendly! A favorite spot to go after tiring the dogs out a bit at a nearby dog park, such as Schappacher dog park, or Wiggly Field at the Voice of America park.

ShoopDeWhoop G.

Google
New favorite drink hangout! Great bartenders who know their beers, and are all around nice folks. The Pay It Forward Bulletin Board where folks have bought a drink for others is amazing!❤ And I had an apple fritter cider that was great (I'm a wine drinker) and I tried a darker beer that was also great. Just Go. You won't be sorry.

Google
Friendly and good! Common Beer's ESB called "Come Together" is a solid favorite and is one of the top recommendations by the staff. This brewery has a small brewery feel to it and the service experience is one of the best you will find in Mason/Cincinnati. The take a lot of pride in their work and it shows. Common Beer has a decent outdoor area in the back of their building when the weather is nice. You will be able to find something for everyone here. Various beer styles, wine, seltzer and mixed drinks.

Google
Enjoy coming here on my way home from work. Nice bar tender, pleasant atmosphere, and great beer! If you are in Mason it is a fun spot to have a drink and make memories. Plus they are partnered with the pizzeria nextdoor, so you can grab a quick bite to eat too. I love how they support the local businesses around them.

Thomas J.

Yelp
What a pleasant surprise is The Common? A Warm, friendly environment & staff makes it a mark above the average brewery experience. Inside you enjoy a warm friendly vibe, which flows outback to a large comfortable patio. My wife and I did a Mason area brewery tour finding The Common as a cut above the rest. Great Place!

Yelp
Great beer and cool bartender. It's a small place but has a big deck in back. I grabbed a flight of six beers and was very satisfied with all six! We had the pigs in blanket bites that did not disappoint! Overall a great experience and highly recommend!
google avatar

Alissa M.

Yelp
Beer was decent, bartender and patio were top tier. All around experience was great, would definitely recommend.

Yelp
Great spot! Great beer ! Great service ! Well planned food trucks and St Patty's kick off !! Naughty Lobsta, Barking Burger and love music! You can't beat a $7 Old Fashion!

Yelp
We couldn't be happier with our experience here. They have a lovely patio and provide bowls of water if you bring your dog. The bartender was fantastic the beer was really really delicious and we tried a bunch of them. They were very limited snack menu but everything we had was very good.
google avatar

Steve A.

Yelp
The Common Beer is yet another brewery located in Mason. It is so far my least favorite. The beer isn't as good. But it somehow is more expensive. So how does that work? I had the Come Together. It's an ESB. This one was okay but nothing special. It's $6 for a pint. That's average for a craft beer, but they also have several beers for $7, which is ridiculous. As many here have commented, the beers aren't worth that much. The beers are also lacking in flavor and they seem to be off on brewing techniques. Beers seemed to have imperfections. The colors looked kind of weird. I would like to give this another chance. It's because they are still kind of new. They have a chance to succeed if they just take more care in making products.

Yelp
First visit, we loved it! Very small spot on Main St in Mason, but there's indoor and outdoor seating to claim. Good variety of beers, plus a great guest peach cider from Wilmington you must try! Choose from pints or flights. There's no food here, but I did see a guy order a pizza from the place next door and they brought it over to him. There's board games to play in the back, watch tv, or just enjoy the weather if the windows are open. Trivia is on Tuesday nights at 7, and don't forget to stop by the candy shop next door for some caramel corn! Would return.

Yelp
Recently visited this brewery and had a great experience! Wasn't very busy for a Saturday afternoon, but we were okay with that. The beer was really good and the bartender was friendly and knowledgeable about everything on tap. He explained the flavor notes and how each beer was brewed which was interesting. They also have a pretty big back patio and are dog friendly! Will definitely visit this place again if I'm looking for a low-key place to grab some beer.
google avatar

Yelp
Really fun and lively place. Interesting beer selections Mostly beer but some wine. Good service. Great dog friendly patio out back.

Yelp
We're big fans of the Common Beer Company. My husband loves the beer and they make me delicious old fashions or Kentucky mules. Mark and Becky are both great; very friendly and always recognize us to say hi. The music and food trucks are fantastic; we also love the dog-friendly patios so we can bring the pups with us for drinks!
google avatar

Brian S.

Yelp
Nice place, good atmosphere, beers were below average. I'm hoping this place can turn it around with the beer recipes because it seems like a really good place to hang out but not worth passing up other better beers to get to this relatively hard to get to spot. If you're nearby, stop in and let me know if the beers have improved. I would be excited to have a reason to return.

Yelp
New brewery in the heart of downtown Mason. It's a beautiful building. You can tell they sunk some bucks in to this place. Roll up garage door style front windows with a small two table patio out front. They have two picnic tables out back and six chairs around a fire pit. Parking is out back with about 25 spaces. They also had a food truck out front and offered soft pretzels at the bar. I sat at the bar. They had six beers to offer. I ordered a pint of the ESB. SEVEN DOLLARS. It is supposed to be crystal clear and malty. Theirs was cloudy and bitter. See the pic. I didn't even drink half of it. They charge $10 for a sampler of 4 beers so I got everything else they had besides the wheat. Here's the sad thing, I didn't care for any of them. They all seemed rushed and flawed. Their blonde was almost dark Amber in color, very little carbonation, and hazy. The hazy IPA was medicinal and had no citrus flavor whatsoever in my opinion which if it was true to style citrus would be dominant. The dark IPA was ok but at this point I was so irritated I left all of it on the bar and walked out. I think people, myself included are tired of paying a premium ($7) for pints of mediocre "craft" beer. I didn't pick up on any love for the craft. It all seemed about the money. Growler fills at $22?!?! GTFOOH!!! There is far too much competition in this space to settle for flawed mediocre beer. I may try them again in six months to see if they have honed in on their process but I dislike their business model so much I doubt I will come back. "Redefining local" What does that mean to you?

Yelp
Like this place. Friendly bar tenders with great sense of humor. Tables outside in front and beer garden in back. Easy to find on main street in Mason. Lots of parking in back. Interesting and fresh beer choices made on site. Great for watching sports or games on large TVs. Live music on Friday and Saturday with nice relaxed atmosphere.
google avatar

Erica D.

Yelp
We tried everything between two flights and really none were good. The Gose wasn't sour and we thought we mixed it up with an IPA, very odd. and the Raz IPA was awful. The most drinkable to the 3 of us was Look Back Saison. Not sure we'd be back, hopefully their beer get better, not sure how new this place is but we usually give some slack and try to revisit. No food served that we saw, board games in the back, limited seating, pretty cozy vibe overall. It was pretty crowded at 5 on Friday!

Yelp
Great spot, perfect on weekdays to get some work done Nice patio, and very nice bartender/owner

Yelp
Swung back by this little joint again on my last visit to town. Looks like the are keeping up all the great service and fun beers I found the first time I stumbled upon it! Tried the Garage Rock per a recommendation and it was delicious!! Love the fun names and interesting flavor profiles they come up with! Again, highly recommend this spot as a local and a visitor!

Kati C.

Yelp
I came here for the first time last night and I like it! I like the atmosphere quite a bit, laid back but nice . Nice clean bathrooms as well. Can't say I loved the beer, it was very foamy which makes me think something was off. But I'll come back and try again.

Yelp
Charming family run business.. This guy knows his beer, and definitely nothing "Common" about the flavor profiles their brewmaster is tinkering with. Had the seasonal "Son of a Nutcracker". Served in a snifter with a cinnamon/nutmeg sprinkle on top.. What a fantastic beer! If you're ever in Mason it's worth stopping by.
google avatar

Yelp
Cute place in old downtown Mason, but the beer is just not good. We got a flight of 6, 2 were almost undrinkable and tasted like soap. The other 4 were unmemorable. While the space is cute and the people are friendly, if you're looking for good beer, this isn't the place.
google avatar

Raechel M.

Yelp
Best local brewery in the area, hands down. Fantastic staff and phenomenal beers. Always a good stop, any time!

Katie R.

Yelp
Checked this place out for the first time last week and it didn't disappoint! Staff was super friendly, tons of great drink options and the food was fantastic! Get the truffle Parmesan fries with balsamic! They are amazing!

Yelp
Approximately a year ago my husband & I decided to make a serious attempt to try as many breweries as we could in the tristate area including restaurants as well. I also started my own instagram account with our travels. We have been to every brewery in the Cincinnati area but Common. We got online, saw they didnt have a food menu but you could order from Comet....Comet had just closed so we ordered from 2 Cities. We walked in at 9;20 & were jumped by the bartenders.....the blonde bartender scolded me as I tried to explain we couldnt get food stating "you wouldnt walk into a restaurant with food would you?" Well.....no, but this is a bar, with no food & we do ALL THE TIME & never have had an issue. Honestly, we have NEVER been talked to like this ANYWHERE!!!!! Seriously, do NOT give this establishment your business....they need to learn how to treat people

Dinah A.

Yelp
Incredible beer! LOVE their Son of a Nutcracker!!!! Special homemade snickerdoodle was out of this world. Soooo... this is my new fav for all things Fall and winter. Just, wow.

Yelp
Just got the opportunity to visit the new craft brewery in Mason and I must say I will be back. The atmosphere is so great. You want to spend time here. The drinks are great. A great variety of brews and quality wine as well. I would definitely recommend a trip here.
google avatar

Jeff H.

Yelp
I really wanted to like this. The atmosphere is really good. The beers is not great. Their IPA is not hoppy. Their smoky IPA is a result of burnt grains. Their cream ale tasted the same as the IPA. I tried 5 of the beers. The only good one was the winter ale. The ESB was ok, but it was not crisp and clear, but cloudy and blah. I hope that they figure it out, because I really like the location and vibe.
google avatar

Yelp
I am from Orlando, Florida visiting family and we stoped by this hidden gem tonight. The atmosphere was very chill and happy. Inside was very clean and whimsically decorated and lots of fun. There was a great mix of music playing, and it was the perfect volume to where you could enjoy it, but also cary on conversations and still hear each other. I have a gluten allergy, so I wasn't able to try the beer, but everyone I was with loved it. I had one of the ciders - I believe it was strawberry lemonade, and it was one of the best I've ever had. They also have fun events going on all week. I definitely recommend stopping by here for some delicious drinks and some fun!

Rob T.

Yelp
Just had 2 very well crafted IPAs and some food from a food truck on a nice street Sunday afternoon. They have the COVID precautions figured out well and lots of outside seating in the front and back. Kid & dog friendly.
google avatar

David F.

Yelp
Good beers and great atmosphere. Give this place a try. Its conveniently located in downtown. Excited to try there outdoor area when the weather is warmer.
google avatar

Kirk K.

Yelp
One of my favorites. Where everyone feels like a local. Solid beer selections with some recent medal winners. Great area outside to hang out. Great to have a brewery in downtown Mason. Go check it out.
google avatar

Todd L.

Yelp
In town for a baseball tournament, stopped in for a couple beers. Had the black lager and steam beer. Both were very good. Great service with recommendations. Lots of locals hanging out. Recommended for good beer. Drink local!
google avatar

Lauren L.

Yelp
Ok -- this place has 100% stepped it up since the last time we have visited. We decided to give it another shot after dinner in town. All the beers look and taste as they should; they are crisp and aren't cloudy. We were pleasantly surprised! This is officially a spot we will regularly go to :)

Ilana K.

Yelp
This was our first time in and really enjoyed ourselves. Love this cozy brewery! The staff is welcoming and the beer is delicious. Loved their ESB! They have a cool back patio with a fire pit & blankets! Highly recommend!
google avatar

Chris G.

Yelp
We stopped in with a few friends and a couple got samplers and a couple got pints. The ambience was nice and it seemed it was open mic night when we were there with a few people playing acoustic guitar and singing inside. We sat by the fire pit out back. Though they don't serve food, you can order from Comet Pizza and the bar staff will bring it to you. The beers were all good and the food from a comets was decent. They said they have a food truck some nights. It's a very relaxed place with decent beer.

Yelp
My wife and I made our first visit here this weekend. We have been meaning to go but just never got around to it until today. When we got there we were expecting it to be crowded but it wasn't at all. The beer selection and bartender were both very good. He was extremely helpful and talkative and appreciated everybody that was there that day and thanked each one of them for coming in to visit. I enjoyed the beers but the only thing that I wish they had was a larger food menu. I know they do food trucks from time to time but having access to a little bit more food would make it a five-star place.

Mar N.

Yelp
Cute family brewery I would recommend for reasonably priced pints and friendly service!
google avatar

Mackenzie H.

Yelp
Worth a second chance... after having a not great experience last winter (not very good beers), I decided to give this place another chance. We had a lovely evening on the back patio listening to a fantastic live music performer (David Thornton) on a cozy patio with a fire pit, lighting, cornhole and a variety of seating. I asked the bartender what the most popular beer was and he recommended the blonde ale, which I knew I didn't like from my previous visit, so I asked for number 2 which was the hazy IPA which I found very yummy, juicy and not too hazy which can sometimes over power the flavors of the beer. We ordered a pizza roll (best) and a pizza (still very good) at the bar from the place next door (comet pizza) and they served it to us. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Overall, would go again if I'm in the mason area.

Greg M.

Yelp
Thoroughly disappointed. Ah yea...$7 a pint for that?? My wife and I were very excited when they opened. We went up there the first week they opened. Seemed like a nice crowd. $14 for 2 pints seemed a little excessive but ok. I got the hazy ipa, the flagship beer. The only word I can use to describe it is "hideous". My wife got the lemon head envy. It was just as bad. We ended up dumping both beers in the alley. We were sitting outside. Surely they knew how bad the beer was. Probably should have pushed back the date and put some more work into the craft. Hopefully they get their act together, otherwise I'm afraid their business will fail.

Susan H.

Yelp
Great new brewery in the heart of old Mason. Tons of seating outside if you prefer that, and very kid and baby-friendly. Had a homemade lavender beer that was out of this world. Inside had a cool modern atmosphere. Very excited to continue supporting this brewery especially during tougher COVID times. Clean and new and eager to come back!
google avatar

Sean Z.

Yelp
Cute little local downtown brewery. Very clean. Had an outside area in the back to chill. Mike was a super knowledgeable and friendly bartender, helped me choose my flight of 6.

Doug H.

Yelp
Great location and the interior is very well done. Can't wait to sit out back when it gets warm. Enjoyed the wheat beer and the cream ale.

Aubrey C.

Yelp
Lovely little brewery with GREAT BEER and service. Zummy was my favorite! I can't wait to return!
google avatar

Katie P.

Yelp
Great beer, nice people and decor. I would recommend the chicken sliders and lemon head beer. The owners are very friendly! They also have the NFL Sunday ticket for sports fans. Finally a brewery in downtown Mason.
google avatar

Becky C.

Yelp
The naughty dark is good. It has a little bite but I liked it. My husband tried the bandit--was very drinkable. I loved the building. It was a fun place to watch football
google avatar

Brian K.

Yelp
Super cozy and casual. Owner interaction and meticulous attention to details and quality. Great conversation, impressive knowledge and super tasty beers. If great times and quality beverages are your thing....you have to give this place a try!
google avatar

Caarie A.

Yelp
Great beer, get service!! I will be back for sure. Has a great patio ready for warm weather and homemade dog treats.

Anne B.

Yelp
Common is by far my favorite brewery to visit! I have a go-to beer (The Rear Wheel lager) but I'm always excited to try the new experimental beers that come up on the regular. Mark and Amy (owners) could NOT be nicer or more accommodating; they truly love their regulars and can't wait to share new beers and making it a fun place to be :)
google avatar

Janet N.

Yelp
This nano-brewery is a find in downtown Mason. It's locally owned by Mark and Amy Lortz. We love the atmosphere, the people, and most of all, they brew some really great beer. My favorite is the Lortz Prayer, a hoppy, bold and citrus-y brew. My husband, on the other hand, really enjoys dark beers and particularly liked the Walk Around Town, a smooth dark beer with a lot of body. The Common also offer ciders, wine and other drinks. They don't have a kitchen, but we ordered mushroom and onion pizza rolls, and the server picked them up from the pizza place next door for us. They were really good. The night we were there last, there was a band, too! And, on Sundays, there is usually a food truck outside. My personal favorite is the BBQ truck with the best brisket I've ever tasted. My husband loved the chili. What's not to like? Really good people, great beer, yummy food and sometimes there's entertainment, too. Try it!

Frank B.

Yelp
Deeeee-lish-us-ness. Great beers, awesome ambience, & great staff! I've been here several times and I'm in love like a schoolboy. I'm a home brew judge and I really like this place. Might be the best ESB I've ever had, and that's a really under appreciated beer category. Mild and malty, with a slight hop presence. Coffee stout was also pin point. Lemonhead was great, not too lemony and not sweet. Literally one of the prettiest bars I've ever seen, with a great patio in the rear. I enjoyed a cigar at the fire and had a wonderful conversation with some really great folks from around there. The place has been packed every time I've been there. I wish the brewery much success. I think the beers are reasonably priced. I think I paid $5 during happy hour. I'd pay $10 a beer to make sure they stay here. Mason has a few cheap asses who drive new BMWs and I hope I never cross paths with any of them. I don't drink beer to save money, and if I were too, I'd obviously drink High Life. I like small brewery's and I'm worried they will out grow the joint.
