Say Goodbye to Gastropub The Common Table’s Uptown Location | Eater Dallas

"A decade-old Uptown gastropub known for brews, whiskey cocktails and comfort food like grilled cheese is closing its Uptown location after lease-renewal talks stalled and the building was deemed in need of significant repairs; the Uptown spot’s last day is January 26. The owner group says the Frisco outpost will remain in operation and they hope to relocate elsewhere in Dallas. In its final week the Uptown location staged celebratory events — including a Friday “see ya later on” party with DJ Joel Salazar and taps featuring some of the best beers from the cooler — and is remembered as a small-house neighborhood spot serving honest food, thoughtfully chosen wine and an award-winning beer selection." - Adele Chapin

We came for hip-hop brunch and had an absolute blast! I went with my best friend, her family visiting from Arizona, and her daughter. The moment we walked in, Public Enemy was playing — as an old-school hip-hop fan, I knew right then we were in for a good time! We ordered the Lil Kim Mimosa Tower in tropical (so good!) along with chicken & waffles shaped like Texas, breakfast flatbread, breakfast tacos, chicken fried steak, and the BCT sandwich. Every plate looked incredible and came with generous portions — totally worth the price. Our server was friendly, patient, and attentive, keeping the energy high and our drinks full. The vibe was festive, fun, and full of great music. I recently moved here from Central California, and this was exactly the kind of spot I’d seen on Instagram and wanted to try — it lived up to the hype! I’ll definitely be back for another brunch soon.

If you’re looking a good Saturday brunch I’d recommend this place. The food was very flavorful and filling. I ordered the biscuit and it was sooo good (minus the jalapeño jelly). Regarding the service it’s was very busy the day I went, so I didn’t see our server often which was a hassle towards the end when I need the check. If you’re coming here I’d recommend a reservation!

We had a ladies brunch and everything was good. The atmosphere is so chill and the food was amazing. You had great options to choose from. They also have a DJ that starts at noon! Go enjoy some mimosas and brunch.

So hubby and I came to Dallas Little Elm to be exact for business and to visit our stepson and grandkids that live up here.😍 So everytime we are here my\nStepson always brings us to a really cool restaurant. So we decided to go eat dinner he suggested this place The Common Table. This place is so cool. 🤯It's right in the heart of downtown with all the Dallas Cowboys pictures, and there's a hug statue of men huddling right in the middle of the turn about right outside the restaurant. As your walking from the parking garage there are Dallas Cowboys, different numbers along the path, there are also little memorandums explaining about the person and the number of the team member. This place is awesome. It is a vibe for hip-hop music, and football lovers because they have a hip-hop brunch that I heard that is barely any seat's left.🤯 As you walk in there's a really nice set up. There are tables and umbrellas outside for outside seating with T.V's. As you walk in the door there is a big bar to the right plenty of seating then they have a private room off to the right of the bar that looks like the Lord supper. 😮But it has all of the popular hip-hop stars it's really cool.🤩 Check my pictures and you'll see a video too. 😉 So we must have came on a popular day because a couple of people were in their celebrating their 🎂 There was one lady at her part they had a wig party. 🥳 Yes you heard it right It was so funny and there wigs are looking crazy.. birthday girl was a lot tipsy🤣 They also look like they had a lot of fun.😁 So as we sat down our waitress came and gave us our menus and asked us what we wanted to drink. I ordered a Strawberry Fields Spiked Lemonade, my hubby and stepson ordered Crown For A King and my stepson girlfriend had a Sanpellegrino Mineral Water. Way also ordered appetizers that included chicken parmesan sliders. Flash fried calamari and Fire Cracker Cheese Steak , Eggrolls.😋 Ya'll when I tell you when the drinks came out. They were amazing but when these appetizers came out they must have made them with crack in them because they were absolutely fire. 🔥 Do you hear me every last one of them.💯 So we were very excited to order our entrees just from the appetizers😉 Our waitress was fantastic also her name was Aliyah Rainey ask for her she is awesome 🫶 So for my entree I ordered Pan Seared Atlantic Salmon with mashed potatoes and mixed vegetables. My husband ordered the Chicken Fried Ribeye my step son and his girlfriend ordered a Texas Chicken Philly sandwich. When all those came out everything melted in everyone's mouth. 😋 This restaurant is so good and it's fun to look at there are so many pictures of music and football celebrities and it just different little things that gives it a great vibe. 😎 While we were eating, we also got to watch the pregame Dallas and L.A. we're playing. Ever in Dallas and want something for dinner and your downtown? Give The Common Table a try. You definitely won't be disappointed.😉

We arrived on a Saturday afternoon at 330pm. It was fairly busy but we were seated right away. There was really good music playing wicked loud. We were given brunch menus. I didn't really want breakfast food but I was able to get a Greek salad with salmon. It was pretty tasty. It wasn't $30 tasty but I did eat it all. It was a decent experience but I doubt I'll return. It's not my jam. The others in my party ordered the Greek salad with shrimp and chicken waffles. They enjoyed their meals as well.

I placed a pickup order for the braised short rib and I was thoroughly disappointed. It’s supposed to come with a red wine demi glaze, but that was nowhere to be found. It also came covered with fried onion rings, and the description of the item online does not mention that at the time of this review. But here’s the kicker: I found a long black hair in my food. Absolutely disgusting. I tried to call the restaurant several times to request a refund, but they use an automated system that listens for your answers, and it did not recognize what I was saying and kept hanging up on me. Very frustrating and I will not be eating from here ever again.

is definitely way overhyped from TikTok. The food was pretty basic—I’d give it a 5 out of 10. Service was just okay, nothing special. Our server was nice, The DJ was good with the music, but honestly, you could get the same vibe at a different spot. The space isn’t very big either. Drinks were just okay—only 3 bucks, so that was a plus. Overall, I felt like it was a bit of a waste of time and money,
