The Container Store

I’d give 5 stars to my original planning appointment with Kathryn! She was great!She worked with me to create exactly what I wanted and when we were under budget, she worked with me to add some custom details. She stayed within my price range. However, everything after that was a pretty bad experience. I will never be recommending them for closet install again. If I could give Zero stars I would for ”custom” closets. 1) my original design was altered without consulting me by a designer I never worked with. When I asked the man why he did that he tried telling me the plan hadn’t changed. (Thank god I took a screenshot of the original design on my phone! Then I had to spend 50 minutes “fixing” my design, with a third designer over the phone!, back to my original design! 2) When I went to pick up my parts they tried to give them to another lady. 3) Due to the redesign issue, I’ll have to go back and pay full price for parts that were part of the original plan. 4) Originally I wasn’t paying for demo and install but after all the effort to get my order right, I figured it would just be easier if they did everything and relieved me of the stress of DIY. So I paid $1000 for demo, patch and paint, and install (but was left with the old material and the trash wasn’t even removed from my room!) Not to mention that in my original consultation, I asked the lady if they could entirely paint the walls that would be affected and she had confirmed that could be part of the additional $1000 for demo and install. 😡 Now I’ll be paying one of my painting teams to come in and work around the installed closet to paint the walls so that it’s a presentable finished product. RIDICULOUS!!! I definitely could have saved the $1000 by doing the install myself! #whatajoke You can see in the picture that’s definitely not what I’d call an acceptable final product. I’d be so embarrassed if my finished product by my company looked like this.

Went in to buy an organizer for my closet. The cashier had me scan a QR code to see if I would get 20% or 50% off my order. So I scanned the code, entered in my information and the wheel stopped at 20% off. Then he hit total and my total didn’t change. My items apparently did not qualify for their in store promo. Big joke! He called over the manager and she was super rude. Will not be going back to that store! If you are going to run a promotion maybe next time explain it to your employees??

Products are completely overpriced to the point of ridiculousness. I've seen the same products online, at TJ Maxx, or HomeGoods for a third of the cost. I also started signing up for a consultation online, but decided not to. They had my phone number and they called me every hour for two days and left a voicemail every time. I reported spam and blocked them. Don't waste your time or money, and, for the love of God, don't give them your personal information

They had what I needed and were nice enough at the checkout. Nothing extraordinary but nothing negative either. The store seemed very clean and well organized and there is convenient parking even if you do not want to go through the rest of the mall. It also has nice indoor access to the rest of the mall which I enjoyed since it was 102 degrees the day I came. I will most likely return if I ever need more containers.

This is in my top 5 favorite stores of all time! I absolutely cannot go to this store without wanting to buy something from every aisle. They literally have containers organized by every life function, such as business, kitchen, bathroom, laundry. How could you not love this store!?

Huge variety, not cheap prices but all the items are good quality and will last a long time. They also have a variety of useful items you wouldn’t expect, like re-usable sandwich bags. Tons of mall parking outside, back doors open to the parking lot.

From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and excellent service. Everyone was so attentive and made us feel like we were special. Very clean establishment

I got there right at 11:00 when they open. Lisa, the store rep, was at my door before I even finished my message telling them I was there. She quickly brought out my order. But it seemed short of items. I had ordered 3 (three) 3-tier cart gift wrapped organizers”. I understood that to mean it was the wheeled cart pictured online. But no. It was merely some little bracket and container to attach to the cart. The cart was NOT included. I was disgusted. But Lisa kindly took my receipt into the store and got my money refunded. That way I did not have to hobble in with my cane. Kudos to Lisa. Thumbs down for the misleading item description.

I saved up for an Elfa Closet system for my master bedroom and only wish I hadn't waited so long. My closet organizer was excellent. She listened to my needs and designed a closet that combined shelves, rods, and drawers. There's a place for my laundry baskets, too. It's brilliant, and my closet works so much better now. I've been able to clear off most of my bathroom vanity and organize my items for daily routines on a closet shelf. I love using the closet and look forward to getting my other closets done sooner rather than later.

I've been saving my maiden voyage to the Container Store for a day when I had plenty of time to comb through aisle-by-aisle, it did not disappoint! Any storage nerd or office supply enthusiast will be in heaven here. There are so many more storage solutions here than just "containers", I was delighted to find creative solutions for shelves, hooks (even big enough for your bike!) , cute office desk goodies, chic filing cabinets, kitchen gadgets, foodsafe bins and bags, closet shoe storage, jewelry organizers, glossy acrylic makeup organizers, and they even have high quality paper boxes impossible to find anywhere else. There were some odds and ends, like suitcases and travel stuff, upscale gift wrap, magnets, pins, hangers, laundry baskets, shoe stretchers, children's organization, daily planner kits, cork boards, a little bit of office furniture, etc. This being said, everything was pretty pricey. I'm sure there are places with much better deals, The Container Store just puts it all in one place. If you're looking for a basic plastic tote, it's probably best to hit up Walmart or a home improvement store. If you've got a complex storage problem, or if you've got the money to fill your pantry with Good Grips bins floor to ceiling - go for it! I didn't buy anything this time, so I didn't have any interactions with the staff. I don't think I was approached by a staff member at all in the hour I spent there.

I have spent thousands of dollars at the container store since March solely due to the products. Its customer service (or lack thereof) is what will drive the Container Store out of business. Purchased numerous commercial grade items on line for pick up. Since I was driving 85 miles into Salt Lake City, I stopped by the store at 1:00 PM to inquire about my pick up order. I stood in line behind 2 other customers. The customer being waited on was purchasing 2 entire carts of items. The cashier (a middle aged woman with shoulder length hair) was evidently having an issue with scanning the items. The customer being waited upon was cognizant of the time it was taking and attempted to assist. The cashier kept scanning a single item twice. Multiple items too many times. After what seemed like a long time - the cashier finally got it correct. NEVER at any time did the cashier call for back up to check out the 2 customers in front of me or myself. It is finally my turn (after about 20 minutes of waiting in line) and I advise the cashier that I am there to pick up an order. She asks and I give her the order number. Evidently, it is not ready yet. OK - no problem. I inform the cashier that I drove 85 miles into town for numerous reasons and that I needed to know when the order would be ready., She looks like a deer frozen in headlights. I asked again and she replied that someone was going to pull the items. So - I stepped aside and allowed the customer next to me to be checked out. After that customer and before the cashier could start checking out someone else - I ask her for a status. She doesn't reply. So to recap - I stood patiently in line twice to get waited upon and now it's been another 10 minutes while I am allowing other customers to be waited on and I still don't have a status of my order. I asked her once more - she looked up and said nothing - continuing to wait on yet another customer. So - I took control of the situation and went and pulled all of the items which I ordered . . . And brought them to the front. I walked up to the cashier and said "Ok - I have the items - now what?" At just that moment - 3 other employees walk up. The cashier says something to another employee like - I'll have to cancel her order and re-ring her". To which I interrupted . . . These are the items on the order. Can't you just confirm that and let me be on my way? At that moment - out comes another employee asking which items she should pull. The manager (one of those 3 previous employees) asks me why I pulled the items myself. To which I replied - I attempted to get information out of the cashier on 3 different occasions over 25 minutes to no avail. She answered none of my questions about my order - and she said my order wasn't ready - so I got it myself. So then the manager tells the cashier that all she has to do is scan each item and I could be on my way. To which the cashier then tells me - "there is a customer in line behind you - could you please wait while she waited on her." To which I replied "No - I have waited long enough. I turned to the customer behind me and said - I had to want 30+ minutes to be able to check out - you just arrived - you can wait another 2 minutes. No thank you for your large order. No thank you for your patronage. No sorry for the mix up. No sorry for the time you had to wait. Nothing. THIS is why my and my clients' orders are shipped to my business. I detest having to deal with anyone at any store. They are not invested in their company, evidently no one is capable of independent thought and productivity and efficiency are foreign concepts.

Oh the irony! An organizational store that was completely chaotic! It looked like the floor hadn't been vacuumed in weeks. There were hundreds of unopened shipping boxes of product haphazardly placed throughout the store. Some isles you couldn't even walk down them because of the boxes and carts. But interestingly a lot of the shelves were bare! Because everything was still in the shipping boxes. My wife was so excited to go there after watching The Home Edit and we drove over 2 1/2 hours round trip to find this pathetic store. I felt bad for my wife who came ready to spend a lot of money, but she couldn't find anything or anyone to help us. So.... Amazon, here we come.

If you're a storage freak and live in the Salt Lake Valley, it was probably hard to contain your excitement when the first (and still only) Container Store came to the Fashion Place Mall a few years back. It's all there: Custom Closets (including Elfa, Laren, and Avera), treasure chests, wicker chests, plastic bins, trash cans, tons of shelves, laundry storage, jewelry storage, food storage, toy storage, makeup storage, kitchen storage, hooks galore, garage organizers galore (including hooks, shelving, and gear boxes), bathroom organizers galore, office organizers galore, gift wrappings and boxes galore ... and the list goes on and on. So many varieties, so many colors, so many options. Give yourself at least an hour to peruse it all! I'd love it if the prices were lower, but no one in the Mountain West can match the sheer volume and variety of The Container Store!

If your child has Autism (sensory issues) forget about it!!! We know the recommendations, we have to because we live with it! It's clear as day, no interpretation needed, he's exempt from wearing as mask. They went on to argue that he was above 2. This we understood (he's 4) but he also would not allow us to put a mask on. They refused us entry due to him not wearing a mask, and they were nasty about it because we were wasting their time. So, according to the container store, parents of special need children are not welcomed in their store unless you duct tape a mask on your child. We are not people, you do not have rights! Your kind do not mix well in a public setting! Got it, thank you for making that clear! Turns out Orson Gygi has what we needed and they let our child in, no questions or strange looks! BTW, read the reviews how online orders are handled... turns out the chances of them getting more then two stars is about as good as letting our son with Autism into your store! I swear, with what they charge for some their stuff you would think they could afford a little compassion!

I've always enjoyed shopping at the Container Store and have enjoyed the savings I've received on some really nice stuff over the years. I've purchased about 10 of their rolling gray garment closets. The first 7 were great and are still heavily in use today. Recently CS put these closets on sale for $10 off. I was excited enough that I bought three more. But sadly, the reason they were on sale was that the plastic (from China) was over-baked and they just crumbled within hours of assembly. The plastic just crumbles. No wonder they were on sale.

Okay. I have never set foot in this store AND the service I received was stellar!!! I live out of state and have spent days (husband can verify) looking for cute storage for our nursery. We have a small home so storage will be visible. I FINALLY found the perfect solution at my nearby Container Store. After less than great service, I discovered that this item was discontinued and the distributor isn't shipping it. I called Container Store after store at different locations and they were sold out or wouldn't ship. I finally decided to call SLC location (sis lives nearby) and see if they had it. Lindsey, the General Manager, was amazing! I called TWO HOURS before they opened. She answered the phone, was warm, kind, patient and located said items for me. She then assisted me in the shipping process. This may not seem like a huge deal, but for a first time mama to be in serious nesting phase, this meant the world. Great service!!!

My husband and I were so very pleased by the wonderful service we received from everyone we dealt with in this store. Sue was helpful making suggestions by phone, Sabrina, a manager, was AMAZING at helping us select our purchases, Mark was helpful sorting out our previous purchase mistake, and Rich was thorough and considerate at the check stand. The only problems we had were due to our own mistakes, and the people at this store were wonderful sorting out these mistakes. It has been a long time since we were treated with such professional consideration. In addition, the Elfa closets are fantastic...functional, durable, flexible and well worth the $. I wish I could give the store and the products 10 stars

Some staff at this location are some of the rudest in retail sales and it starts at the bouncer who monitors the front doors who rudely tells you that there isn't mall access... I almost felt profiled that I was a mall rat or something but the ignorance came from the older lady at the cashier who should probably watch her tone when she talks to people. Also if you purchase things online expect a few days to be able to pick it up.. slowest online ordering ever for pick up that I've seen around! 3 days!!

Absolutely love this location. They have a great selection of products and their store is always clean and organized. They are helpful in finding you things to complete your organization projects. Side note. It is super helpful to near use your product areas before going so you know what will fit in the area you are organizing! Super great fuel for this store helping me get my home in order! My only complaint is sometimes it takes awhile to checkout, or the cashiers are just shooting the breeze with each other when they could have been helping customers checkout.

This place is pricey. Like designer tupperware expensive. Bed bath and beyond is a little less pricier and the same, if not more products to organize you. Listen, I find Ikea perfect for these projects and would drive all the way from downtown to save almost half of this place if not more! I walked thru today and there was inventory all over the floors. Ive never seen an employee, good or bad if you need help. All in all not impressed with overpriced plastic. Hopefully the stuff is manufactured in the US to justify high cost but besides that I wouldn't recomennd the store.

I had an issue with one of the employees several months ago, which I brought up to management. This employee made me feel very uncomfortable while i was in the store, staring at me and muttering under his breath. Ladies beware. This could be you

Moving? Needing to be more organized? Are you a secret hoarder? Then do I have the place for you! I have more movies than I know what to do with and I was finally running out of room (maybe I should slow down my purchases?) and desperately needed to find a new shelving unit for everything and this lovely establishment was right down the road from me! They were able to help me find something that I was looking for in perfect time without spending a ton of money. Everything in here seemed to be in pretty great shape and quality. I would absolutely recommend coming here for storage needs over a big box store or RC Willy or even IKEA. It's a great addition to the Fashion Place mall.

I had an awesome experience with the store. I had a very difficult situation and trying to organize a bunch of cell phone parts in my trunk. Previous iterations we're not working. So when I went to the store I asked for somebody to help me out. And hour and a half later we finally figured out a solution. He helped me through the whole thing. Was very polite and very patient. The prices were fair but it could've been better. Thank you very much for helping me Jon. I will be back for future purchases.

I am a registered nurse working in this pandemic and the staff at the Container Store just made my day. I placed an order a couple weeks ago for curbside pick up in two parts - one for the following day and one for a then future date 7/3. I get a call saying my order couldn't be filled but I can pick it all up on 7/3. No problem. I come today and there was a mix up filling the part that couldn't be filled originally and I was going to have to come back. The staff member had it filled while I waited (thank you!) so that I didn't have to come back. While waiting I watched multiple people In line outside violating the mandatory masking mandate for Salt Lake county. As a nurse who is working in the pandemic, this feels like a slap in the face. The staff then had the customers retrieve masks (that they had FTR) from their cars to enter. I feel valued by Container Store as a customer and as a nurse.

I've walked past this store while visiting Fashion Place mall a number of times, but it wasn't until I actually had a need for some specialized containers that I stepped in. Well all I can say is that this store puts my engineering mind into overdrive, and just writing this review I'm thinking of all the amazing home organization projects I can do. Other reviewers are correct, this store is heaven for anyone with any level of OCD. I defy anyone to NOT become obsessive compulsive after a visit here. I really like how the store is arranged into specific sections like storage, closet, kitchen, bathroom, travel, shelving...the list goes on...it makes navigating the almost overwhelming selection so much easier, and when you already know what you need, it makes targeting the correct part of the store so much easier. But this place is just fun to browse too, even if you don't have a specific need in mind, it's hard for the huge selection to not spark ideas of new and better ways to organize your household. I suspect there will be visits to this store during many of our visits to the mall. The store is very open, inviting, and very well organized. Staff seem pretty helpful and the service at check out was very good and friendly too. For a store in the mall, it's pretty good value for money too. I'll just come out and say it - what isn't to love about this store? Now I just need to find something to contain my excitement about this store!

Humanity is dead. Had to lower my mask for a medical issue for a moment before I was approached by an employee who asked me to leave. I made sure I wasnt by other customers and I clearly had my mask. I explained I will put my mask on again, but was just taking a moment making sure I was away from others. Again told me to leave and directed me to the exit. I will never again need another thing from any container store. This ridiculousness is saving me lots of money for sure

I drove an hour+ to get to this store to pick up a delivery at the appointed time (agreed upon in advance) after having waited 3 weeks and it hadn't arrived. No one called to notify me that there had been a delay so I wasted more than 2 hours of my day. The store suggested that I cancel my original order and reorder, telling me it would arrive at my house within a few days and it didn't. I called the store to see what happened and log my complaint -- the individual I spoke to didn't have the courtesy to apologize and directed me to a national hotline that I called only to wait far longer than should be expected to talk to someone. However good the product is, the terrible customer experience isn't worth the effort.

I shop at this store pretty regularly. I have to honestly say the staff is not helpful at all. They don't offer to help you, they don't acknowledge you, they don't thank you or greet you. When you do ask them for help they act like they are put out. On two different occasions they told me they didn't have a product and I found them in the store. With Covid, they got worse. An employee cracks the door open and every time, very rudely asks if you are shopping there. Then they barely open the door for you to go in. In my opinion, The Container Store=rude, unhelpful, employees. This has been years at this store.

Moving into a space considerably smaller than our previous place we wandered into the Murray location looking for closet solutions. We were helped by Camille who went out of her way to help design the perfect answer to our issues. She was kind and knew what she was doing.

Don't go here!!! Horrible employees especially the bouncer at the door that kicks out people with health issues. They are so rude and if they profile you and think you aren't shopping in their store they will kick you out and tell you there is no mall access.

THIS PLACE! OMG! I love containers and boxes and carriers and hangers and jars and baskets and shelves and bags... and *GASP*... you get the point. This place has it all. Why waste your time at department stores that have a limited, crappy variety of general boxes? Your stuff needs a better box. You deserve a better box. See the box, feel the box, get the box, be the box. You won't find anything here over that's over the top stylish, but there's not anything here that's really on the low-end either. It's all mid-to-upper quality and conservative design. Minus the laundry and shelving baskets. they do have some cute stuff in that regards. And hangers. Loooots of hangers.

If you are looking for storage Containers, this is the place. They specialize in storage of all sorts. Kind of an interesting niche; I have shopped at other locations in the past. What is cool about this place is they have it all. If you are looking for something specific, an odd size, or unusual application in storage, they have it. Staff is very helpful, and the store is kind of fun to shop in as you will literally always find something you need there. The prices are a bit on the high side, I have always known that about them. Sometimes you can window shop here, and find a similar item for less at another store. But if it is a speciality item or unique application in storage, this is your store.

This is an OCD person's dream store! I love organization, I am not all that organized, but I love the stuff! LOL They do have stuff that is sold other places including online, but this is a wonderful place to find everything you can imagine. I love just love it! The employees are polite and knowledgeable. Which is great since it seems like they make some good money for being wonderful salespeople. I signed up for their frequent buyer program and for my birthday I got a nice little gift on my birthday. Wasn't much, but was a nice thought....I can always use post it's :)

Really great storage bins and accessories but way over priced. $15 for a plastic medium sized bin seems a bit much. Especially when Walmart has similar products for less than half of that.

OCD people's heaven! I laugh at all the top check ins at The Container Store are Asians. So what is the best thing from Container Store? Display cases for collectables and folding bookcases! My husband and I love to collect nerdy figures and container store offers great selections of display cases and figure's stands. The price is reasonable and cheaper than Amazon's. The folding bookcases/shelves are the best thing to own! If you move a lot, the folding bookcase is easily adjust and light to move. Of course, the bookcases looks modern and sleek. Great quality! Love it when it is on sales! Not everything in here is a great deal. Some of stuff are way too expensive and you can find better deal at other stores. Don't forget to sign up their membership. They offer discount coupons if you signed up.

I love this store. Every time I've gone in, and I think I'm up to 12 visits now, the staff has been helpful and knowledgeable about their products. Each product I've purchased from them has been great quality and made a huge difference in minimizing clutter. The main things I've purchased so far: 1) The Curver durable plastic storage baskets have made a big difference in the laundry room and 2) The skinny 3' shelf that's gone up by a bathroom sink that keeps the clutter away from the sink and leaves plenty of room for the morning java! Also, they have a huge selection of functionally useful gadgets from home to office. For a useful, inexpensive gift you can't go wrong here. One last thing, access to the store directly from the parking lot is a huge plus for those of us who don't like mall shopping. That--was well thought out. And, the store is easy to navigate the way it's laid out. Enough said...go and you *shall* find!

It's always clean and everything is sooo organized in containers ;) Really though, the staff is nice, the place is air conditioned in the winter and thy are always willing to help you to your car. Sometimes too nice but I can hardly complain about that! :) highly recommended!!

Terrible shop online in store pickup at this store. Purchased a few small items online and selected this store for pickup. Called to confirm items were in and verified according to the email to simply stop by the cashier and the cashier can access my order. Waited in line. Stepped up to the desk. Cashier couldn't find my order in the system. Provided all of my information. Then was told I needed to go to another cashier for assistance. Waited inline again. Stepped up and explained that I was picking up my order. Cashier couldn't find my order. I told her I called and confirmed my order was in. Provided the email and my order number. 15 minutes later still no order. Asked why she couldn't look it up by my order number. She said she couldn't. Which seems ridiculous. I could tell she was hoping I would just leave. I begged her to just look for my package by my name. She found it easily in less than a minute.

I went for the first time and the experience was amazing. Really good and friendly staff. The employee helped me to find everything I was looking for

Wow! What an amazing store! We were in the store with a need to have shelves with storage bins attached to a couple of walls in the house for a small business. The experience was outstanding! It really far exceeded my expectations! The staff was exceedingly helpful. We were there for about 2 hours while the girl helped us design and pick out the right shelving, bins and materials. The design process was an impressive experience on their computers. They will be delivering the product next week. I will do an update after the installation. So far, I could not recommend them more!

Wow... High prices AND snooty employees? What a combo. We'll go back to IKEA, thank you very much. Oh, yeah... One more thing, don't ever argue with my wife. Or ANY customer, for that matter.
