I love cruising the aisles to problem solve, organize and see what's new for my home and office. Not sure what's wrong with their escalator ,(often under repair) but they also have an elevator for their two story store. Also nice rewards program that only requires a phone number.

i wanted to do a custom master closet & decided on the elfa closet system. the wait time as a walk-in was minimum 30 minutes but when i finally got help the associate was nice & patient with my specific needs. i chose to pay about $530 for the container store to handle installation. the installer was on time, professional, and got everything done in 2 hours. the installer did *not* follow the height i chose for the top-most sections. i'm really short and didn't want my top rods or top shelves too high to reach but the installer put the topmost roda & shelbes abour 2 inch off my 8ft ceiling. i asked him to correct the height (lower everything) & he did so without issue. the one reason i wouldn't use this store's custom closet system again was the pickup process. the asaociate advised me not to have anything delivered bevause it's easier to fix mistakes or broken pieces in person. it was a nightmare to load my car with the tall brackets. the associate didn't do much to help with the brackets - they only put the smaller items in the trunk. i have a 2-door jeep wrangler and it was hard to get the brackets to fit so i had to duct tape them & i had to hold onto them the entire drive home. overall i do like my custom master closet.

Had a larger closet built for my bedroom and gifted myself an Elf closet system. Made an appointment to work with a designer at the store. Instructions on what to measure were super easy and the appointment went smoothly and I ordered everything that day chose a later pick up date for the items and also paid to have the system installed. The company they used was excellent. Good communication and setting expectations on what I needed to do before they arrived. Installation took a little over an hour and when he left everything was cleaned up. I would recommend using container store if you are looking to install a closet system in your home.

I am a trade partner with The Container Store. I was able to find all the things I needed and the products are excellent as always. At this particular store, the check-out experience was what resulted in the 3-star review. I watched as the customer in front of me experienced the same rude treatment. The cashier argued with me about the trade partner discount on Elfa products repeatedly referring me to a sign to read to back up her claim that you have to spend a certain amount to receive the discount. Perhaps she wasn’t trained on that particular aspect of the business or maybe she just lacks customer service skills. I have never witnessed such poor service at a Container Store. If the rating was just for customer service I’d give this experience 0 stars. People should be held accountable for the job they are paid to do.

I love coming here. It is laid out well and it is just truly wonderful to see all the organization. The staff was friendly and helpful. Everything was laid out well and clean.

I Felt Treated Differently And Nasty By Nicole Eisenhauer Cassell · Visual/Operations 46604 This Was My 2 Time Going To This Store Today I Parked Here Picture Below ⬇️. It's called a container store, but you still have to find things on Amazon, because this store doesn't have the containers you need. Stop trying to be a miscellaneous store and actually have containers.

Went in to check them out and they had everything we needed for kitchen, closet and bath storage. Things we had never even thought of. A nice eclectic selection of everything to storage solutions.

Yelp
Horrible experience at The Container Store in Nashville TN two months ago. I went to pick up some things and was going to talk to someone about elfa closets. Saw only two people on the sales floor in the Elfa area who both ignored me. I finally stopped a lady who walked past me to discuss the plans I had for my closets. She acted like I was bothering her. I frankly gave up on buying elfa. I then went to go pay for what I intended to purchase and found only one register open and 8 people in line. At that point I decided to seek out the manager. I went back into the store and now found that NO ONE a was on the floor. Looked in every nook and cranny and found no one other than other customers wandering. I then found what appeared to be magnetic access cards and a Zebra hand held device laying in the open on a display rack! I waited 15 minutes for the manager to finally appear. I asked why I had found no one on the floor to help customers. I also handed her the security tags that were left behind. Her response? "we are badly understaffed and working to unload our truck". I asked her if customers spending money were not important? She barely responded and could have cared less. (she did not even act alarmed or concerned about the security tags and the zebra device) I called their headquarters in Dallas and have never had any response from them. Two weeks ago I was in one of their stores in the Denver Area and experienced the same thing.... only two people on the entire floor in Elfa both involved with customers... Sad to see a company I have shopped at for 35 years go down hill so badly. This company consistently ranked top on "Best Places to Work" years ago and now could now care less about their customers. I just looked at Fortune Magazines top places for 2024 list .... 100 companies and Container Store is not even on the list. Sad. I left my cart behind and ordered on Amazon....

Yelp
The teammates here are always super helpful and friendly! I will say (and this is store policy and not their fault at all,) that it's frustrating to have to pay full price for an item. And less if I order online and do store pickup. For example, yesterday, I wanted to buy the Origami kitchen cart/island. It was $140 in-store and $118 online/store pickup. I decided to save the $22 and order online. The teammate explained the item would be ready in the morning, implying the item wouldn't be shipping from somewhere and would be pulled from the store. What's the sense in that?

Yelp
Look, I like to organize things! Is that a crime? Not here, it isn't! This place is a wonderland of organization. It's like Disney for containers. So many containers. I have found lots of cool stuff here and I always walk out with something. I also like walking around and looking at all the different things to get ideas for storing stuff.

Yelp
Hubbs and I seriously love this place! It's two stories of magic! I love just walking around and seeing all the different things they have to sell. Hubbs and I try to stop by here whenever we visit Nashville so we can check out what new kinds of containers they have. We almost always buy something when we come in here.

Yelp
Staff was extremely rude. I was also given the wrong item and essentially told to "deal with it". I ordered a white and grey nightstand and received a beige and grey one- not going with my room or what I ordered. I told them this was incorrect and they said they didn't have anything else. When asking for help to pick out some drawers that could replace them, they said no and were extremely passive aggressive.

Yelp
Small selection but excellent service. Would recommend in a pinch. Great loading spot.

Yelp
We just renovated our kitchen and now have a pantry. I'm in love with my pantry, and I want it to be organized and beautiful. I knew I needed the Container Store for this job. They sell everything you need for organizing closets, pantries, and more! Customer service is very helpful! It's a nice store, even if I do have to go to Green Hills to shop there!

Yelp
Stockings are ready to be hung and filled with goodies from the Container Store. The gift wrapping paper selection is festive this year. Cannot wait until my grandsons open their gifts with dog wrapped paper goodies! Ha! Many neat stocking stuffers are on sale now.

Yelp
Beautiful store, my type-A, overly organization-obsessed self can't "contain" my love for all things organization and storage. Hence why I love this store. Unfortunately, not this location. On multiple occasions now, I've *thought* that I've properly calculated what my total will be for my overpriced plastic bins but somehow I always underestimate the cost. How does that happen when I have a perfectly good calculator on my iPhone you may ask? This store cares more about filling in gaps in the store than ensuring the products are in their proper places with correct price tags. A dish drying mat I picked up had a vague descriptive tag of "mat" with a price of $10.99. Get to the register and it rings up $16.99. Do the employees give a shit? Of course not. Not to mention - the employees at this store are RUDE. What's funny is they're so over-the-top "friendly" when I'm trying to shop in peace, constantly badgering me to see if I'm finding everything I'm looking for. But then when I get to the register they glare at me like I'm interrupting Sunday dinner and begrudgingly scan my items. It truly is a drag coming here but of course this is the only location within 200 miles of me. At the prices this store charges, you'd think the cashiers ringing up said items would pull the bug out of their asses.

Yelp
At the Container Place, they have supplies and equipment that will allow you to organize every imaginable area of your home and business. It would probably be my own personal Heaven if I had OCD ;-) I'm giving them three stars because: 1) I'm not an OCD sufferer ;-) 2) Some of their prices here are ridiculously high. Imagine paying two hundred dollars for a garbage can! 3) The checkout process here is downright brutal! You can minimize the brutality if you avoid coming here on weekends or weekday evenings. Apart from the above, this is an AOK store.

Yelp
I love to organize and this place is my Mecca. They have everything you'd ever need, lots to choose from if you're ready to break the bank - because it's very hard to resist. Warning - it's nearly impossible to find someone to help you and their frequent shopper points are a waste of time but the selection makes up for it

Emily D.

Yelp
This store was THE worst. Every sales associate I interacted with was rude and unhelpful. Was with my mom, an older lady and they 1) did not help her stack her the order, 2) told her to scan the order by putting large bins on the counter herself, and 3) barked at her to put her account information in with not even as much as a please. I will not be shopping at this store again that is for sure. Another associate gave us attitude for asking for a tape measure. ?? Is this what we can expect post covid?? Oh and they did not offer to help my mom load her order into her car. NO customer experience. Older shoppers beware.

Yelp
I must admit that I may be a bit Type A especially when it comes to organizing. Sure, my closet gets sloppy at times with piles of excessive clothes but I can't turn down a good plastic bin, file cabinet, folder, or storage boxes. Although I avoid major retailers and chain retailers as much as I can... The Container Store has a hold on me. I was delighted to attend the Preview Party for TCS's first Tennessee location at The Mall At Green Hills (grand opening is Saturday, November 5th) in the old Davis Kidd location. I literally geeked out at all of the amazing organizational options here. From tiny lucite boxes priced at 59 cents to the massive closet units... I felt my heart flutter at the 2 stories of clean and refined order. Add in the fact that this company knows how to throw a party! The Preview Party was packed with Nashvillians and TCS staff who boogied to a live band while enjoying free-flowing libations and tasty gourmet bites. You can tell that this company takes organization seriously but still likes to have a good time. The president of the company was getting his groove on while on the dance floor! Throw in the fact that 10% of all sales from the grand opening weekend will benefit the Minnie Pearl Cancer Foundation and you had me at Tupperware.

Yelp
Used the Elfa product when I redid my laundry / pantry. Accessoriesze with bins also found at the container store plus labels which totally rock and a color couple other much-needed accessories like a broom rack and a steamer. Couldn't be happier!

Yelp
Overall: Everything from tiny plastic boxes and entertainment centers to wrapping paper and wicker baskets -- and great service to boot! Products: This place really does have things you didn't know you needed. (and a few things you didn't know existed.) When it comes to storage and organizing, this place hits a very special, very OCD part of my heart! We recently bought an entertainment center, the Linea with 2 book shelves, and we have been super pleased with the quality and appearance. My only gripe is that it was a pain in the @$$ to put together. BUT -- rumor has it, you can pay CS to assemble items for you now! I strongly recommend it! Another great product purchased recently was an Elfa item... the kitchen cart. It has been great for adding additional storage and counter space to a small area. Service: The employees are knowledgeable about the products and more than willing to help! Can you ask for more than that? Cost: This is not a cheap place to shop and I'm sure you can find more affordable products elsewhere, but I think the quality matches the price.

Yelp
When in in the morning. The top floor was all the new products. Lots of staff. The main part of the store is down the escalator. They have lots. A few name brand container's a bit above retail prices I could get at Walmart and lots of stuff that I have never saw. The full custom closets were a bit expensive but everything else was real reasonable. But I'm sure the closets were reasonable if you were in the market for them. I was impressed with the huge office supply selection and the huge supply of coat hangers. If you like boxes, bags and containers this is definitely a fun place to go.

Yelp
I do have to say as I walked inside- I had a sad moment remembering Davis Kidd. My OCD/organizing freak inside slapped me to attention and down the escalator I went. I have been to other container stores before. I do have to say that I starte feeling a bit shut in once I got downstairs. I think part of the problem was that everyone and their momma was there. What was I thinking going on a Saturday in January??? They do give a teacher discount (which I love). The workers are also super friendly. I love that the store is divided up into regions base on what you are organizing. They have a solution for almost any problem.

Yelp
I've been fortunate to have moved to Nashville just as certain businesses I used to frequent back home start to pop up around here. One of them is The Container Store. I was initially disappointed when I first got in and saw barely anything on the sales floor. And then I saw the escalator and knew the first floor was just like a big storefront window -- items to entice you in, while the real goods were downstairs. This store did just open -- I expect they'll eventually cram the first floor when more items come in. I had nothing in mind when I went in. But the wares are usually inspiring enough to give you ideas on how you think you should use them. Just because things are in the bathroom section does not mean they should be used in the bathroom. That's what re-purposing is for. A plethora of organizational cubes, racks, fixtures, containers, boxes, tubes, etc., are in store for you here. I now know where to go for unusual box shapes. I take off a star because checking out was not laid out logically. There's a section roped off for people to line up in, but no one seems to know where to snake the line. I wouldn't ever want to be here if there is a long line and tempers are flaring, that's for sure. Thankfully, that wasn't the case when I was in.

Yelp
TCS has this clothes hanger rack that nowhere else has, which is the mainly reason why I kept coming back here. It is a little bit more pricy than other stores but you get what you paid for. I have bought 3 of them so far and I would buy more in the future. On my last visit, I found an awesome deal on the hangers (72 for $20), very sturdy and excellent quality hangers that come in 7 different colors. The staff here are also very helpful. When you have lots of things in your cart, they would pull the cart in the front, you can drive your car by and pick the stuff up. So convenient! 2014/#7

Yelp
A store that contains stuff that is made to contain stuff! Been waiting for it to open and was so excited that it finally did! I've seen bigger stores since I'm from Texas, but this store is still very nicely sized! It's connected to The Mall at Green Hills and it fits right in. After going down the escalators to the main part of their store, I walked the aisles and aisles of bins, shelves, storage units, etc. and wondered if there was any way I could use all of it...yes, ALL of it! Keke ;) Anyway, I know that I'll return there again shortly and if I ever need help with organization, this is where I'll go!

Yelp
I have been a fan of the Container Store for years, loving their products and finding the employees super helpful and accommodating. That all changed on August 17, 2018 when I ran into the most rude and condescending sales person (in the Elfa design center) I have ever met. Living 150 miles away in southern Kentucky, I was headed home from a trip to Nashville. I thought I had details worked out with the delightful Buffy to pick up products for part of my project on Friday August 17. Unfortunately, Buffy was not working that day, so I encountered a different sales person. I was immediately told that I was out of mind to expect to walk in and pick up storage products, that he could have my products pulled on the following Monday, and not a minute sooner. When I asked him to text Buffy or someone else to see if she had made arrangements, he informed me he was not about to bother someone on her day off. No, "I'm sorry ma'am", no "wish there is something I can do", just a tough luck lady, I'm too busy to fool with you attitude. Unfortunately, I was so mad I didn't take the time to get the name of the sales person or request a manager. As a result I have decided to go with a different storage company. I will never shop in The Container Store again. I'm sorry Buffy, this insensitive and rude co-worker of yours cost you a $6,000 sale/commission.

Yelp
For the price point of their products. Their service is subpar. I was interested on items on display - stackable shelves. I asked if there were any loose ones anywhere i can grab a few. The lady told me to break down the display myself cause that's all they have. Uhm. ok. Each time I've gone here it seems like i'm interacting with someone who just started and is clueless on products and protocol. Maybe better training and on boarding their new employees would help.

Yelp
I have always enjoyed my experience at this store since they opened. I have purchased all of my retail shelving, racks, hangers, and storage from the Green Hills location over the past few years. However tonight I was told at exactly 9:00 by the feisty late 30s early 40s brunette manager on duty "we are closed and I have sent my staff home, the weather is bad and you don't want to be responsible for keeping the rest of us here, we are closed". At this point the temperature was above freezing and it was no longer raining. I was completely in shock that I was being told to drop my items and get out at 9pm on the dot. There was no warning that the store was closing and I had simply lost track of time. When the manager realized that I was not alone and that my partner was also interested in making his purchase, she changed her tune immediately and tried to change her story, offering to help us "find anything" and ensuring us she did not care to stay late because she lives "two miles away". I will continue to shop at The Container Store but will be reporting how rude and unprofessional this manager was to myself and my partner. So take note, if you are under the age of thirty it is possible that you will be treated as an unimportant kid regardless of the thousands of dollars you have spent with them in the past. At the end of the day this woman has provided me with the inconvenience of another trip to the store and should be fired.

Daniel B.

Yelp
Don't judge the place by what you see when you first walk in...Go down the escalator! This place get 5 Stars! The selection here ranges from inexpensive to expensive. They have "stuff management" selections for every room, closet, and drawer imaginable in your house. The kicker? They have a great staff that will help you get a plan and help you shop!

Yelp
As a hater of all things clutter-y, I have a major heart on for this store. My dragged DH in here to at least consider the elfa system for our master closet. Tim K, the world's awesomest container store employee, took our measurements and got to work. While that was going on, we browsed around and I kept hearing a bunch of oh's and ah's coming from my right side. DH was sold once we saw what Tim had set up for us and we went back and bought the system yesterday. All of the staff is friendly, helpful, and very into their jobs. We also got the elfa door rack for my bazillion jars and packets of spices and it's awesome. We'll be back for the next elfa sale!

Yelp
Bought a few items for our apartment here and I am very satisfied. While they are not cheap, they often have solutions you can't find anywhere else. Also, their inventory rarely changes, so setting up and maintaining a registry is very easy. Great place for simple storage, hangers and cord management! The staff is also super friendly and helpful!

Yelp
OK, this one's my fault for giving them my email address in the first place, but once you're on their list, the emails never stop. Unsubscribe doesn't work, nor does writing to customer service.

Yelp
i remember thinking "a 'container store'? the hell is this supposed to be?" when it was announced then filed it away in the recycle bin of my brain. cue forward quite a few months, and i have a reason to go here. i'll be moving to a place soon (fingers crossed, yelpketeers) that's smaller than the place i'm at now by about 350 sq feet, though has a huge closet. but i'm a man. i really didn't care about the closet size until i started thinking about the stuff that i need to take with me that i need to stow away, then i really cared about that huge closet. i started doing some research on how to maximize that space and ran into this store. a woman noticed me bumbling around the store and went to help me/see what the hell my problem was. i told her what i needed and we were able to design a freestanding shelving system that will be able to store what i need for the kitchen and gave me plenty of ideas for the big bedroom closet. for those of you that live in a smaller space and need to maximize that smaller footprint, you can find lots of quality stuff here that'll probably help you out. there is a ton of other stuff for the SUPER organizers (not me). great customer service, they have a good thing going here. eric b

Yelp
I love the "elfa" system for closets but I am VERY disappointed with the customer service. Every time I have come in the last few days they are completely over whelmed and I end up standing around for over an hour waiting. Also there is no organized way of queuing for service. As a result I end up coming across as impatient when I first arrive because I HAVE to get SOMEONE'S attention in order to secure my "place" in the pecking order of who gets served first.

Yelp
I love The Container Store and buy from their catalog and website. I used to visit the actual store when I lived in DC. This location was not what i expected. It is on two stories, which could be cool -- but the upstairs is sparsely filled and not staged very well. The downstairs is poorly lit and the shelves are too high. I dunno, I left buying one thing as a gift -- and nothing for me. And I am obsessed with containers--I have containers FOR my containers. So the fact that I was unmoved by their merchandising is problematic I fear. Maybe they need a new manager or something.
google avatar

Yelp
By far the largest Container Store I have ever been in. The FIRST floor is all storage. Take the escalator down for everything else. They have a lot of displays for their Elfa closet organization. We went their to look at their Elfa wall desk units. They look great but expensive. Great selection!

Yelp
Love this store. Perfect addition to green hills too. Definitely going back.

Yelp
I am newly in love with the Container Store. Having lived in NYC, I always felt their Manhattan outpost was a bit chaotic, but the one at Green Hills is beautiful and makes me want to reorganize my whole life! They have absolutely everything you could need there, but what's more is that every last sales employee is so personable and fun and HELPFUL. I have been working with two designers there, Blake (who is moving, sadly, for med school) and Amanda (who is designing our closets), on an Elpha system for all of our bedrooms, and I am so happy with the results and the promptness with their replies. I would recommend the Container Store staff 100 times over.

Yelp
First of all, I would like to start out by saying I am very livid as I am typing this review. The moment I walked into the store it looked empty and bland. I was shopping for some wrapping paper and I didn't see nearly half of the choices that were in the catalog that I received in the mail. So I continued to make my way down the second floor hoping to find what I was looking for. I saw more choices so I was a little bit more satisfied. But not completely. I had to make do with what was available (which wasn't half of the wrapping paper that they had on display). I understand that the holiday's make things hectic (to say the least) and shelves get cleared faster than usual. I proceeded to find the most available register. As I was waiting patiently (like a good customer would do) An employee had come up to me and the other customer that was waiting behind me and told us that the line starts in another direction and she told us to move. Without any altercation (yet), I did what she asked. Clearly, I was in line BEFORE the lady behind me was. So therefore I should have been the one to proceed to the register FIRST before her when available. I could tell the other customer was a little upset that she couldn't have just stayed where she was. What was it going to hurt? I did not see any signs as to where the line had started. And I believe she said something along the lines of "First you told me move here and now you re telling me to go where?" I was shocked as to what I heard from the employee as her response went something like "Oh, ha Well, I'm telling you to move here." (In a snotty/rude kinda way) And she wasn't that clear on where I was supposed to go so I had to ask her again (I mean, I didn't wanna break the STRICT rules you all have about lines) "Where does the line start?" I was too overwhelmed by her confusing (lack of simplicity) response and just walked away and went back upstairs to checkout. Again, all I wanted was some wrapping paper. And I don't think I was treated that well as a FIRST TIME CUSTOMER. I will not be back.

Yelp
I've been waiting for The Container Store to come to Nashville ever since moving to Nashville several years ago. Finally went in there today, filled a basket with several items, and then walked to the counter to check out. And there I stood, credit card in hand, but no one would wait on me. One sales associate behind the counter was busy chatting with another customer about goings on at the Ryman tonight. Another associate stood to one side reviewing papers on a clipboard. A third walked up to the counter and promptly began checking out another customer who had come up after me. Finally, the first associate finished his little chat; he then strolled over to the guy with the clipboard and started chatting with him. Still, no one would wait on me. I was clearly visible and was the only other customer at the counter. Finally, after several minutes, I gave up and left the store. Nashville is know for having poor customer service but I have always experienced great service at every other Container Store I have ever visited so I was expecting the same here. Maybe service will be better the next time I go in. Or, I could just run into Target and get the same stuff there. I won't get good customer service there either but at least the merchandise will be half the price of the Container Store.
