Employees definitely aren’t that friendly to customers. No employees said hi or made any contact while I walked in or was looking.. Many shelf items had no prices by them. Two employees were joking by the register about having drugs, when I went to check out the lady acted like I was the weird one for not knowing prices which were not labeled. Since Container Store charges 300% as much as their competitors, I would at least expect a friendly and professional experience, otherwise why go back…

I wanted to double check the size of a pin board I was looking at for my space before puschasing it. When I walked in, I was bombarded by 2 of the staff members with questions, which was already uncomfortable. When I was leaving, one of the women up front chased me down and asked if I didn't find what I was looking for. I told her I was browsing while waiting for my husband. She rolled her eyes and looked at my sweatchirt pockets and muttered how it looked like I did more than browse. My sweatshirt pockets are small and can only hold my wallet, phone, and car keys. The insinuation that I was stealing caused me to pull out my phone, car keys and wallet to show I didn't have anything, and I left. This is ridiculous. I shouldn't have to pull out my personal belongings after being chased down to prove I'm not stealing. It made me glad I left my purse in the car (it's bigger and I probably would have had to pull out more.) I often frequent your store for inspiration for my home and have been for years. This experience made me feel very unwelcome in your store.

Amazing selections of products to organize your home or office. Parking is available. Good shelving ideas and options.

Changed rating from a 1 star 2 yrs ago, staff is much friendlier now. only thing holding me back from a 5 star rating is those insane prices. Poor folk need containers too

The Container Store is a shopping place that provides containers or boxes to organize your goods. This shop has all sizes of containers from small to large. So, if you want to keep your room or office tidy, The Container Store is the place you need to visit.

Has lots of great items for organizing almost anything. Store was very clean and visually appealing. Prices are on the high side, but they have some decent sales.

Google
The Container Store by Mayfair Mall has a broad selection of all things to contain your life. The staff is helpful. If you are looking for ways plastic can get you better organized, you should check out this place. We considered them for a closet remodel but found a preferred alternative elsewhere based on what we sought. Lots of other unusual things in store that you didn’t realize you needed until you shopped here.

Google
I love this store. Had to do a return as well as a pick up. I spoke with 4 different team members while I was in the store. They were very helpful, polite and knowledgeable.

Yelp
When i first walked in the door, i began an aimless search. One of the attentive and observant employees offered her help. She brought me right to what I came for. Then I we near the checkout register, a second, attentive and observant employee asked if I'd like to check out. Such professional spot in help, plus a fantastic selection of products.... It's hard not to feel like you're walking on the sunshine of wonderful help great products! Wow. Online shopping can't even come close to this good!

Yelp
Love this store. The one by Mayfair Mall is very neat and organized. It's in the back of the mall, great location and plenty of parking . I like it's rewards program, although it'd be nice to accrue points on every purchase. Tip: You may find some treasures by the clearance section in the back. I've found quite a few myself!

Yelp
I don't know why it's so hard for the hardcore fans to ...contain themselves. It's a store full of various storage strategies. So, I had to come here in a Time of Pandemic and they have a nice social distancing curbside pick up for online orders. Looking in the windows it's a big, bright, enticing store. Very clean. I always thought that the reason I didn't clean up and organize was because I just didn't have the time. Turns out, that's not actually the case. But now I have a big rubberized tub to ... oh who am I kidding. I may never fill this thing up.

Yelp
My love is in love with this store, though I could not tell you why. Sure, there are some interesting things here, but much of it seems overpriced for what it is (plastic, basically). My main complaint is that customer service is practically nonexistent. You could spend a half hour in the store and the only staff interaction you'll have is when you check out. Given the variety of items you would think that they would take advantage of that to assist you in finding the storage and organizational solutions you never knew existed and now can't live without, but maybe they don't need the money?

Yelp
Lots of options for your new year's get organized goals! They have a lot of cool options, varieties of sizes and styles, but the price of organization surely stacks up. This January we had one food pantry project - and despite some serious planning, we've made four trips to the store. Our second trip was to return a mistaken selection of sizes for a hinge (smallest piece of the project - we thought only one size was offered because we didn't pay attention to the other empty hangers offering different sizes). Trip number three was a decision to double our organizing efforts because we were enticed by a coupon... a coupon that they took from us but the never applied to the order (too bad I didn't pay enough attention until we were driving away). Trip number four was spurred on once again by a coupon from the previous purchase, though not as great as the previous coupon. Store staff was helpful in returns/exchanges, and friendly about coupons, but very dismissive about potential cashier mistakes made on previous visits. Also, when I had a receipt for an exchange, they didn't want to look at it and requested my phone number. The receipt had a barcode and would have skipped the whole charade of the wrong phone number being on my rewards account... So while I would say they have a lot of great options, I recommend that you do yourself a favor - browse their website, so you know what you are coming for in advance... and don't forget to research the options at the dollar store or other online entities.

Yelp
I'm ashamed to admit how much I love shelves and containers. It's unhealthy. Coming here makes me feel normal among my peers. My organization supply addict family. First of all, it couldn't be easier to get to. It's just off North Ave behind Mayfair mall. There is a large parking lot in front of the store. Behind that lot is a two story parking structure which is going to be very handy in two months. You all know what I mean. Black Friday Sales! The mall is just on the other side so pop in to buy stuff to put in your new boxes/containers. I went on the second day of the grand opening and there was a line out front. My people! It wasn't a long wait since I arrived only about five minutes early. As we all filed in, the employees greeted us with cheers and clapping. A standing ovation before I even decided to buy anything. But who am I kidding? I came here to spend! I was given a cart, a catalogue and sent on my merry way into the crowded abyss of goodies. First impression was that it looks smaller on the inside(anti-Tardis?) than it did from the lot. It's not too much different from my old stomping ground in Chicago other than feeling a tad cramped. The aisles were full of shoppers, yes, but they were also only exactly two carts wide. There was no room for error here. Either hit the shelf or hit your neighbors as you wiggle through. My arm was quite a target. Rude. The products are no different than other locations. If you haven't been to a Container Store yet, what are you waiting for!? Shop online and come in with a list. See and feel the products to make sure it's the right one for you. If not, turn around, there are plenty of options. I also really enjoy the ample supply of stationary and gift wrap supplies. So, it's not ALL containers. You might need laundry soaps or a chair. Maybe a funky coat hook. It's. All. Here. The check-out process left a lot to be desired but it was opening weekend. With every register occupied it still took 15 to 20 minutes to get through. Don't complain please. You know what you're getting into AND they're working out the kinks. Should be smooth as butter in a month. Remember that every person who signs up at the register for their POP perks emails will take an extra 3-8 minutes depending on how fast they type. I'm thinking the majority will be through with this before the big shopping season descends upon us.

Yelp
I've never understood why people lose their shit over the Container Store - I feel like I'm a pretty organized person and I've really never felt the lack of an entire store dedicated to containing things. However, I came to the realization that my beauty cabinet was in disarray and that I needed to better organize my huge pile of travel size samples. (Subscription boxes holla!) So, off to the Container Store which definitely delivers what it promises. There are containers in every size, shape, category and price point imaginable. They have stuff to organize your kitchen, your bathroom, your closets, your media collections, your hobbies, your garage and any other area of your life that might be messy. In fact, it's a little overwhelming - did I want a standard container? One with a lid? Something in a drawer model, perhaps? CHOICES! I did find the employees here to be really pleasant and helpful. I was checked in with and offered help but no one was pushy. I did find just what I needed and now my pile of samples is well organized which is great. In terms of pricing, you can probably get a lot of this stuff elsewhere (Target, Bed Bath & Beyond, Home Depot) but it is convenient to have everything in one place. Also, an unexpected bonus was a really nice, big gift wrapping area. Again, tons of options - I'll need to remember that.

Yelp
I have ordered online from Container Store before this location existed. I first visited this location shortly after grand opening and again a few months later. This place has almost everything you could want for organization but it's pricey. I went to dollar tree and found some of the almost exact same designs but for way less. I bought ten Storage containers at dollar tree for $10. If I would've purchased the same thing from the store, it would have been $80 for those same ten containers. Yes, the quality was the same. I was online yesterday and noticed that they had an under sink storage organizer on sale. I purchased that and some towel hooks online for local pick up. The process is very easy. You park in the designated parking spot, click on the link to notify the store you are there and they will bring out your item a few minutes later. Very convenient. Joint the pops reward program for free. It can give you some nice discounts and other perks. The hours listed on yelp are incorrect. I got there early because of this. An employee came out before the store opened to give us our online order fulfillment. That was very nice of them to come out early before the store even opened. I sent in a request to update the hours on yelp.

Yelp
A place for everything and everything in its place. I'm pretty sure The Container Store lives and dies by that mantra. Take any object in your home, the pointier and pokier and more oddly shaped the better. They can contain it. Besides the plethora of containers, they have tons of general organization stuff from hangers to dishracks, some décor stuff, and a section that would allow you to gift wrap packages in a way that would make Martha proud. The store lives up to the brand in style and cleanliness. If you've ever been in a container store, it's exactly the same as that one. There's something for everyone in here. It's safe to assume that if you walk in you will be leaving with something you didn't realize you simply MUST have. I will say that the price tags can be a little steeper than you'd expect or than you can find at other retailers, but I've had good luck with the quality in the past. I was lucky enough to visit on their Preview Open night, along with what felt like 500 of my closest strangers and the place was happening. Looks like MKE is pretty darn excited to get organizing!

Yelp
The container store is awesome!!! If you're looking for any sort of storage, organisation, hangers, garbage bins, travel containers, you name it they have it. I've been to other container stores in Denver, Minneapolis and used to go to the one in Chicago. Now this store is open I visit a few times a year. A HUGE selection of storage gear. They have a great website if you can't find it in the store.

Yelp
I just ordered my second closet from the Wauwatosa store. I like the first one a lot and am eager for the second one. This time my designer was Katy. She greeted me on time for an appointment, explained lots of options to me, and welcomed my preferences. I came prepared with measurements and she applauded my preparation. This time I have opted for their installer and will likely post about how that goes as well. While Elfa is not cheap, it is certainly versatile and high quality. Store service and friendliness are excellent as well.

Yelp
DO NOT waste your time or money here. I have filed a complaint with the BBB. I placed an order with the container for a custom closet. I picked up the first part of my closet on 7/24/22. The plans did not match the items we were provided, things were packaged together in NO logical order, and I was missing one of the top tracks so I couldn't install half the closet. I called the store the next day and they were able to cut a spare part to size which my fiance had to go pick up. I had called the container store on 8/3/22 to confirm that my order for the backordered drawer units would still be ready on 8/8/22. They confirmed that would be the expected arrival day. On 8/4/22, I got an email saying my order had been delivered, 4 days earlier than expected. I called the store to make sure since I had JUST spoken to someone the day before. They assured me there was an order there waiting. My fiance went from work to pick up the remainder of my drawer units. He called me to tell me it was just more standard bars (which we did NOT need- triple checked our plan). A manager was supposed to reach out to me but never did. On 8/8/22 I got an email saying my order was delayed. I called the 800 corporate number and the rep told me no, the order was showing ready at the store. I called the store and they said nothing was there. I called corporate again, and was told the units were at their east coast distribution center. She said she would put a "high priority" order in to have them delivered to my house. The manager at the store was rude, and the area manager was even less helpful and talked down to me about how the drawer units wouldn't be at the store because they were getting delivered to my house. Had to explain numerous times that corporate took care of that and shipped them to my home since he and the store manager were taking so long to get back to me and we had had so many awful experiences at this point. 4 days later, I received 5 shelves that were not even part of my order. I have had half a closet and have not been able to unpack my clothes in my new house for weeks. This level of service for such a high-price item is completely unacceptable and the phone calls and extra trips have caused significant disruptions in mine and my fiance's lives. Will NEVER give this store my money again.

Yelp
I live in studio apartment so space is limited, I needed a dish rack I don't have enough counter space I have a double sink !!! so I needed a in sink dish rack. I was really lucky it was on sale for $12 originally $17. A lot of the items sold there I have seen at TJ Maxx, Marshalls. I would go there if they have a sale.

Yelp
While I never really check in when I come this store, although I should because I could probably be the Duke, it is one my favorite stores. It will make you go crazy and want to organize every inch and cranny if your house! Definitely join the pops perk system for great coupons and remember to come with a budget in mind because it can get pricey. My favorite item are the drop down shoe storage bins. The are incredibly useful and keeps all your shoes nice and neat.

Rene C.

Yelp
Horrible customer service. Drove half an hour just to buy these shoe containers I really needed. I had the shoe containers INSIDE MY CART and they end up taking them away from me because someone had already paid for them online. First of all, why are they still on the shelves if they were reserved. Second of all, they were already IN my cart and I was in line to checkout. It was extremely rude and embarrassing having your stuff taken right out of your cart just for them to give to someone else. They were all out of stock after they took them away so not only was it a waste of my time, but a waste of my gas as well. NEVER COMING BACK TO THIS RUDE STORE! I recommended everyone to go somewhere else because the workers there are lazy and rude. I've never had to write a review like this for any other store.

Yelp
The Container Store is awesome but also very dangerous. I don't let myself going often because when I do I come out with at least $100 worth of things I didn't even know I wanted. They have all sorts of organizational things and they are organized by what kind of room you would probably use them in. It's really nice, because I may know I need something to help organize my kitchen but don't even know what sorts of things there are. Today I went and specifically to get some bins to put inside my fridge or freezer and they had a massive section. There was an employee named Ian who was extremely helpful and also very excited to show me the different things that would work. He actually seemed to really love his job. As for prices, some stuff you can find cheaper elsewhere but when I was last in I double checked a few things on Amazon and they were either the same or more expensive! The Container Store is like a toy store for boring adults, and I love it!
google avatar

David S.

Yelp
Yeah, its a container store. If I to describe this place to someone, I would call it a slightly nicer Bed Bath & Beyond. I went it and the place was pretty hectic and crowded. The workers seemed really busy and could probably have used a few more hands on deck for a Saturday afternoon. I would definitely consider this place I had to a big organization project to tackle, but not sure what else would get me back in the store.
google avatar

Melissa L.

Yelp
Have a large selection of storage things for all shapes and sizes. Material and color options avail too. Clean store, ok customer service.

Gail H.

Yelp
Nice store but very slow check out. Found 6 sales people congregated in aisle but couldn't get them to open another register. Only 3/6 registers open while people in long line. Guess they think it looks good to have long line- crazy demand!!! Versus good speedy service. Walmart here come.

Yelp
Read the reviews before me and feeling slightly stereotyped, but I am ok with that! *big grin* I am totally Type A and I can definitely get behind, "a place for everything and everything in it's place." That said, I'm a huge fan of TCS products. Although a little pricey, they do engage in various forms of, "responsible capitalism" (think Starbucks, etc.) Basically they do a lot of good deeds and email you a lot to tell you about them (if that's your thing). As far as the customer service aspect goes, there is still room for improvement...most brands hire people who will be "ambassadors," of their brand, so going back to that "Type A" idea, some of the employees may have strengths that don't lie in sales/people facing. This is me going on a limb. I've had a great customer service experience, but most are just "meh." There is usually only 1 register open and you're not acknowledged when waiting. To me there is a perceived shortage in staff. Since the drive is a bit longer for me (especially given ALL our interchange construction), I kind of want to feel more warm fuzzies after I spend $200+ on hangers, baskets, and devices only a small percentage of the population has heard of (yet are somehow constantly backordered online). I do believe they'll get there, and either way I love the place so much I won't stop going. If you haven't been, do go. And if you're a Capricorn, give yourself 2 hours for your inaugural visit!

Yelp
I visited the Container Store today for the first time ever at the new location in Wauwatosa at Mayfair Mall. I was really happy to find exactly what I was looking for at a reasonable price. I was only purchasing 2 items. However, when I attempted to check out, only 2 cashiers were working and the line was virtually not moving. After waiting for 10 minutes (on my lunch hour), a 3rd cashier was brought up, but only after I had switched lines. Finally, a 4th cashier, who appeared to be a manager, began ringing up customers. Overall, every cashier spent an unnecessary amount of time chit chatting with customers rather than moving quickly to complete transactions. It should be noted that the store was full of employees stocking shelves, but only 2 additional cashiers were ultimately brought up. Having worked in retail, I understand that stores get busy closer to the holidays. However, other merchants make it their practice to not only call up additional cashiers as needed, but also to announce the request over the PA system to assure customers that additional cashiers are on the way. Neither of these things happened at the Container Store. When a cashier was finally available to ring up my transaction, she walked away to another register to assist another cashier. I left my items on the counter and walked out of the store. I'll find similar items at Target instead. As a retailer, if you have customers who are willing to pay for your merchandise walking out of the door without doing so because of your sub-par customer service, you've pretty much failed your sole mission. I won't be returning to the Container Store.
