Edit: I came back two months later and still had the same 5-star experience thanks to Tommy and Lydia! I travel for work and this was hands-down the best airport meal I’ve ever had!! Highly recommend the Filet Medallions- perfectly seasoned steak that melts in your mouth and can be cut with a fork, paired with whipped mash potatoes with the perfect amount of butter and completed with perfectly cooked asparagus. At $36, some may consider this steep, but this is a $50 plate where I live in Seattle and therefore an amazing value. It was also the perfect portion size which means I had room for their perfect cheesecake. My server Tommy was fantastic, attentive, professional, as was the host Lydia who is friendly and professional.

Google
My server was extremely slow and almost nonexistent but I saw the other servers pretty attentive to their tables. Asked for water twice and never got it. My food was good but extremely overpriced a $40 salad is insane. I also was overcharged for my margarita.

Christie Ann Miller

Google
Heather, my delightful barmaid, was friendly and professional. The burrata offering was excellent, a rare treat for airport fare. Thank you manager Mark for running a class act!

Google
Amazing place to grab a drink and some food. I can’t believe the ratings listed here, as our experience was phenomenal. Jeff is an awesome bartender! He made sure we had everything we needed. Best cheese curds I have ever tasted in my life.

Google
I have to say, I love the atmosphere of this place. The lighting sets a relaxing mood. And nothing aids digestion like Frank's Sinatra playing low in the background. The servers were great and the food is always good. I had the salmon and the bacon appetizer. Both were fantastic. The wait wasn't long at all and I was there nearly 2 hours. I could've stayed longer but my beer tab was getting high. I definitely recommend if you have a decent layover!

Google
Food was good until I discovered my half eaten grilled cheese still had the paper in it. Update: The email address below is not valid, dropping to one star.

Atmosphere looks great. Menu looks great. Service is slow. Need an hour to layover minimum to be safe. Food is disappointing. Better than a Skyclub, but not the steakhouse quality expected. I’ve tried eating here twice and disappointed each time. Skirt steak is SALTY (and I love salt), fries are soggy. Beer is good tho 😂

Google
The Cook & The Ox is a nice restaurant in MSP airport. They have a nice bar and a fun menu. The grilled cheese sandwich and fries were really good. The jalapeño fries were okay and not quite as described. Envision very heavy thick cut fries with a drizzle of sauce. My main drawback is slow service. I sat at the bar when it was not busy. The 2 bartenders talked to each other and a couple of customers for over 5 minutes before waiting on me. I had plenty of time, so I was at the bar for over 2 hours. But it took almost 30 minutes to get my food. Several other customers had to ask about the timing of their food and were frustrated. The bar staff didn’t seem to care. If this weren’t an airport bar that might be okay, but this is not good in an airport. If you have plenty of time and aren’t rushed, I’d recommend it. If you’re tight on time I’d recommend going somewhere else.

Yelp
Airport food is always a challenge. Especially when you only get to eat one meal for the day. I was looking for a full entree that would hold me over for 18 hrs. Im not usually a beef eater but my server assured me their steak dishes were good. She was right. The steak was rather tender for an airport restaurant. My one complaint was "What the heck is a hospitality tax for?" Other than that i would say Next time you are at MSP give it a try!

Yelp
Worst place to have breakfast of all times !!! Ordered two coffees , my cup was lathered with lipstick . See picture . Then after showing the waitress I had to wait an additional 15 minutes for a new cup . She was so slow and confused . Like she arrived here stowed away in the landing gear and never left .Only to torment others traveling in actual seats . Even the greeter guy up front looked like he was miserable and about to cry . I could have sworn I heard him mumble under his breath he hates this place . We sat and ordered a two simple traditional breakfasts. How can that go wrong ? Well , Cook and the ox managed to screw that up too . Breakfast looked like it dropped out of a ox . No care put into this breakfast at all. See attached picture of the nastiest breakfast of all time . Was anything good ? NO!!! Scrambled eggs came out like an omelette heated in old underpants and sat on to flatten it . Where's the scramble , maybe how your messing with my head with this rip off of a meal. English muffin tasted like it was rubbed on an old car engine to sop up the grease . It's the kind of English muffin where they use old spray butter and throw it on the grill giving it the middle finger while it toasts. To top It off the Mutant Hash-brown .This was the strangest hash brown I have ever scene in my life . Took my a moment to figure out what it was . At first I thought it was Calamari . It looked like a hair ball from a cat with old calamari mixed in . See picture. Paid over 50 Dollars and left without eating . They got the last laugh though , got my money for sub par food . If you read this please don't go here . Walk down to Lake wine Market like I did after this . I was treated way better and actually ate . Great service and food. Waiter was happy and no lathered lipstip on my coffee cup. If the mangers or owners read or care , here's my suggestion . Go under cover here and see how slow the service is and no urgency at all by employees . Then actually order a meal and taste it . You may be surprised how bad it is . And lastly , I dare you to eat the mutant hash brown

Yelp
The Cook & The Ox was not a bad little place to grab a burger between flights. The food was good and served promptly, but didn't really stand out. This might have more to do with the place being in the middle of an airport, than the restaurant itself. I'd consider pulling through again if I find myself walking around there again.

Aaron S.

Yelp
If you're hungry, stay away from this place. Just had the steak medallion. They were delicious--both bites. $39 entree the size of an appetizer. I'll never come back.
google avatar

Yelp
This is a nice spot to grab dinner before a flight if you want something a bit more upscale than the typical airport food court. The decor is pretty nice, and aside from everyone having suitcases you don't really feel like you're in an airport. The food was good enough, and the service was extremely fast despite the place being packed. This would also be a great spot to order drinks and apps if you aren't looking for a full dinner!

Yelp
Turned away7/6/25 7:55 PM. Website indicates open until 9 PM. Hostess: "You can have a drink at the bar, but we close in 5 minutes."

Yelp
We finished going through TSA and had some time before our flight. We were hungry and this seemed like a good place to get something to eat. We were seated by a friendly hostess who put us at a table where my husband could plug in his computer and check things for work. Our waitress was very good getting our drinks, ordering our appetizer and a bit later our meal. She checked back to make sure things were going well but didn't hover. Our food was really good. We had the jalapeño fries which had fresh chopped jalapeños. My husband had a BLT and I had a salad. Everything was flavorful. Service was pretty quick but we felt relaxed and we didn't feel like they were hurrying us out the door. There was a nice bar and plenty of seating with lots of outlets for whatever you may need to charge while you are eating.

Nancy L.

Yelp
My soup had a chunk of plastic in it. Approximately 1/2 inch by 1 inch. Yuck! Another person at my table enjoyed his crisp fish sandwich.
google avatar

Jennifer D.

Yelp
Service was absolutely horrible, although the hostess was very good. Our server couldn't be bothered to stop at our table more than to take our order and drop off our food, without so much as a look at us. Our food also took a very long time - he may have forgotten to put our order in or not delivered it when it was ready. We waited a long time after finishing our meal to get our check. The actual food quality was decent (mid-grade, no complaints), but in an airport servers should be mindful that travelers have connections and be more attentive.

Yelp
I had a long layover and decided to sit down somewhere for a late lunch/early dinner. The exterior of The Cook and the Ox seemed to be nicer than some of the surrounding restaurants, and in the middle of my extremely long flying day, I decided to treat myself to a nicer meal. I was seated right away and there were plenty of empty tables at around 3pm. I ordered the pan seared salmon. The salmon was well cooked and has a decent dry rub seasoning, though it was nothing special. Since the type of salmon wasn't specified, I am assume it was farmed salmon. The maple pan sauce had a sticky texture and was... for lack of a better word.. goopy. The mashed potatoes were well flavored but had a starchy, sticky texture as if they had been over-mashed. The zucchini was too salty for my taste and I did not eat much of it. Luckily my server was very sweet and friendly, which made me look upon the experience fonder. Overall, I wouldn't come back. However, airport food is hit or miss and you never know until you try. Since I was so exhausted from flying, I was satisfied with the meal.

John P.

Yelp
My smoked salmon benedict was served cold. The server offered to remake it. The second smoked salmon benedict was served cold. Not tepid, not lukewarm, cold. I returned it and determined to eat elsewhere. Without asking to speak to a manager, the manager arrived to "apologize", but instead explained that the smoked salmon probably cooled the other items on the plate, including it seems, the hollandaise on top. I let him know that was a nonsense excuse and that it is dangerous to hold hollandaise that cool. He then siad he is certain they hold the hollandaise at a safe temperature. I refrained from telling him that I'm a chef and from asking him to show me his thermometer. He then made a point to tell me that he had taken the smoked salmon benedict off my bill. Wow, you didn't charge me for the cold food I didn't eat. What a guy!

Yelp
While traveling, a few colleagues and I stopped in before our flight. They had a great bar selection, and the food was actually great. I had the filet tips with garlic mushroom. Surprisingly spot on, so if you are in the Delta terminal in MN, check it out. Oh, and the service was great as well.
google avatar

Jennifer R.

Yelp
Not very good - I won't return when I'm in MSP. To be fair, their burgers looked pretty good, but this restaurant looks better on the outside. The Caesar salad was a little weird (grilled chicken placed on half a ciabatta on the side?) and EXPENSIVE. My coworker had salmon with hers that was mostly raw. The service was unenthusiastic and not very quick, even though we were assured we had time. It was also a little dirty, despite being nicely designed.
google avatar

Eddy H.

Yelp
Nice chill vibe Medallions were cooked perfectly medium and asparagus was seasoned beautifully Service was great as well.
google avatar

Steven E.

Yelp
Enjoyed another petite fillet sandwich at my favorite restaurant in the Minneapolis airport. One of these days I'll make it here for an early flight and get the petite filet with eggs! Always comfortable. Btw, they add a small junk fee to the bill that does not go to staff (not gratuity): boo to management on that...

Kenzie S.

Yelp
I had time to kill at the airport and wanted to sit down to have a nice meal. From the outside looks of the restaurant, it looked really appealing. I ordered the filet medallions with a cook of medium rare. The filet medallions were served with asparagus and mash potatoes. The filet was cooked well accompanied by a delicious sear on the asparagus. The mash potatoes were decent but were a bit starchy. I dined in later in the evening closer to closing time, so there were not many people in the restaurant. My server was friendly, but the service was slow, especially for a few accompanied tables.
google avatar

Jessica P.

Yelp
Beautiful interior for an airport restaurant but the food was mediocre & overpriced. Shishito peppers are served with standard ranch dressing as the dip. And read carefully - the "Kale Caesar " (an item many of us order when trying to find a menu item with actual nutritional value) was just romaine lettuce with fried kale crisps on top which defeats the purpose. Salmon was pretty good and my son said his burger & fries were ok.
google avatar

Jason S.

Yelp
This is a top notch airport restrain restaurant. The service from Hirut was quick and pleasant. Great, big band music played through the dining room. I had the petit and eggs for breakfast. The steak was tender and cooked to perfection. the accompaniment of grape tomatoes and the housemade steak sauce was a perfect pairing. Quick bite or long layover, you can't go wrong.

Angela P.

Yelp
$36 for this sad excuse of a plate. The asparagus was still crunchy and the "homemade sauce" tasted exactly like Worcestershire sauce ‍ To top it all off the waiter we had was extremely rude. When I asked for a cherry coke, he said, "what do you think we are? Applebees?" Uh no. But you aren't what you think you are either will never go here again ‍ This place thinks they're of top tier but it's a steak house in an airport. Come on. This place needs to be knocked off their high horse

Yelp
Egg frittata inedible and $21 Pancakes pretty good Service fine Quiet and relaxing space

Yelp
I stopped in because my flight was delayed again, and I decided to grab some dinner while waiting for my flight home. It was a long week so I decided to treat myself with some steak and a good glass of wine. I sat myself at the bar top, and was immediately greeted by the bartender. He was very cheerful and very welcoming. I decided to order a glass of the Duckhorn Cab and that solo charcuterie. The wine was delicious as always, and the solo security was actually very cute as it arrived in a glass with a different sorts of cornishones, salami, cheese, and bread twists. Then I decided to order the fillet medallions and the potatoes. The flame medallions came with a House steak sauce, which was a little bit spicy and on the tomato side but all in all a nice accompaniment. I'd still love A1 steak sauce, but it was good either way. The service was great, the bartenders kept checking in to make sure that I had everything I needed, and it was nice to just watch the other guests/passengers pass in and out of the restaurant. I was surprised at the restaurant was as large as it was , they must get really big rushes at certain times. I have since returned twice, so the food is pretty good and the ambience great. Are usually sit at the bar where there is an outlet for me to work while I'm having dinner and waiting for a flight. Great place to stop in before your flight, you won't be disappointed .

Yelp
Incredibly slow service despite not many people at the restaurant. Waited 30 minutes for eggs Benedict. When it came out one of the eggs wasn't poached- was hard and had the shell in it. Don't eat here.

Justine L.

Yelp
Food and drinks were good but it took over 50 min after ordering to get our grilled cheese and fish and chips. They seemed very busy! They clearly needed more staff but were doing the best they could. The sangria was really tasty and refreshing!

Yelp
I am fascinated by the vast differences in opinion and the rating for this restaurant. Perhaps I was just lucky to have dined in for late lunch, avoiding the lunch rush. So i was torn between ordering salad and protein vs pan fried salmon. I asked the server and she recommended the salmon. It ended up being a great choice. Nice size of salmon pan fried, crisp outside and well cooked inside but still leaving the moist and tenderness. I loved the green beans and carrots accompaniments covered in grey poupon brown sauce with little sweetness hint. Carrots weren't quite cooked, so it was very firm but better than soggy. I asked for fries substitute. Fries pass my fries test . The dish was 28 dollars which I think is very reasonable price for the quality and quantity. Will definitely dine in here again if I have a long sit in MSP airport. On the side note, this rating is not based on airport restaurants since this place surpasses the expectation of the airport food.

Sarah Y.

Yelp
Super slow despite the restaurant being empty. My grilled cheese was both burnt and cold/unmelted at the same time. Husband's burger was way overcooked and tasteless.
google avatar

Frank R.

Yelp
For an airport, 5 Stars Get the pan seared salmon, the bomb Great beverage selection Super chill ambiance Clean Great service Eat it!

Brandi C.

Yelp
Service was slow. Salad was called a kale salad but was a Caesar only cost more! My waitress told me I was not only one to complain and offered to bring me more kale.

Yelp
It's tough for me to rate this place. It will make sense the more I share what I went through. This eatery is across from the security checkpoint and the gateway to baggage claim at Linburgh terminal. I had been travelling to MSP airport practically monthly since October. I obviously have stopped these days due to COVID-19. I tend to get to the airport early. I like casually checking in and allowing slack time for delays. It did happen to me at the Air Canada check-in counter. A family of three had eight huge suitcases. We all stood there for roughly 25 minutes while one of them paid for the overage costs and saw the staff member check each piece. It took me a whopping two minutes to check in my bag and me after they were done. Anyway, even with that delay, I wanted to eat lunch before heading home. I decided to try The Cook and The Ox. I waited at the front entrance. A man greeted me and asked that I wait while he found a table for me. The restaurant wasn't busy. I admired the pretty bar and fancy lighting while he was on a search for a table. He came back and showed me to my table. It was interesting that in this small corner of the restaurant, there were three tables where they sat two people each. I had a man on my right and a woman with her service dog on my left. I got a menu and browsed. I ordered a Diet Coke. My server was highly attentive during my entire time there and sweet. I got two refills of Diet Coke. Waiting at the check-in counter made me thirsty. I saw a bison burger. I wanted it. I ordered the Dakota bison burger. It comes with fries. Yes, please! Moments later, my food came on a rectangular plate. Some caramelized onions were draped over the plate. The fries were in a cute basket. I liked the look of it. The bison burger was delicious. I loved the bacon, caramelized onions, and barbeque sauce. The bun was perfect. The only downside was that the burger was medium. I like it cooked a lot more for burgers. The not-cooked-well-enough burger was likely my downfall. More on that later. The seasoned fries were yummy. I dipped them in ketchup. I normally am not a crazy fries person. I was too stuffed to have dessert. My server came over with my bill. Moments later, she brought the payment machine. All went well with my credit card. I enjoyed my time here and the food. Unfortunately, the food did not agree with me. I ended up with food poisoning the following morning. After this meal, I had a cookie and two jerky sticks on the plane and skipped having dinner. I had eaten these items earlier in the week and did not have any issues. I am pretty sure that the undercooked bison burger did me in. How does one turn a horrible episode with food poisoning into a positive experience? I ended up losing weight such that my clothes fit a lot better. It took a week for my appetite to return. I also took two days off from work when my manager was going through a moody phase. I bounced back faster than I had anticipated, so I am grateful. It's funny when I told my intern about this experience. He asked whether I would avoid having a burger now. Harvey's immediately had a 2-for-$6 burger special and my eyes lit up. There's my answer. After work, I got myself that burger special and I was fine afterwards. I may come back and try a steak that is cooked more thoroughly. I would steer clear of the bison burger for now, or simply mention that I wanted it well-done next time. (121)

Yelp
Stay away. All of the MSP restaurants charge a 4.5% BS fee that doesn't go to the actual servers. This place adds crazy prices on top. One Grey Goose drink is $18, other places in MSP charge $12-14. And the food is average at best. Don't be fooled by the appearance.
google avatar

Heather T.

Yelp
I had a wonderful meal here. Outstanding. My filet medallions were perfectly cooked and well seasoned, just the way I like steak. I'm picky about my steak,, so was pleasantly surprised. The Cipollini onions were a little over cooked in some places but were still delicious. And the chocolate mousse was wonderful. I was delighted to be able to get a delicious steak dinner before my flight in a nice setting that had a pleasant atmosphere. I had plenty of time, so I didn't feel rushed which fits the pace of the service here. Highly recommend it.
google avatar

Alex D.

Yelp
Great new spot in the Minneapolis airport! Walking up, the restaurant looked classy and the greeter was friendly. She let me know the kitchen cook time was about 20 minutes, so I should plan accordingly if I had a flight leaving soon. I always appreciate this honesty. I was there in time for breakfast and went super basic with pancakes, blueberries, and sausage. I feel it's really only fair to rate the sausage though because this is a restaurant that is focused on the meat and everyone knows what they are in for when they order pancakes! The pancakes were good (more syrup, please!), and the sausage was excellent. The service was also friendly and prompt. If I am ever back in the airport during lunch or dinner, I'll be stopping back in to give their main dishes a try!
google avatar

Amy H.

Yelp
I had to add a review for this restaurant because they have been reviewed so poorly. The service was very attentive when I was here. The bartender didn't know the difference between the sparkling and still bottled water, but didn't charge me for the error. They were out of an ingredient for the cocktail I wanted, but the one I ended up ordering was pretty tasty. The burrata salad was DELICIOUS!! Overall for an airport restaurant/bar, this place was better than I've experienced in the recent past.

Norman T.

Yelp
Yeah can't quite call this a steakhouse... When I asked how is the pork cook, she looked at me like I was silly and said "on the grill". I kinda chuckled and rolled with it but should've know better... Wedge salad was actually petty good... bacon cely done though lettuce could've been better. Pork chop was uneventful and heavy... Creamed corn felt a little unsafe to eat.. and not great. Was a mistake to eat here :(
google avatar

Doug R.

Yelp
Good food and dining experience. Scott was especially helpful and was a pleasure to hang with from this pods. Will come back.
google avatar

Eric V.

Yelp
French onion soup was terrible, no miller lite, no Coors light, only bud, gross. Worst of all was the service, at first manager took drink order because there were no service then after we got our food never saw her until i begged her to give me bill, i have 4 hours to burn so would have certainly ordered more drinks

Karol M.

Yelp
Excellent service (Hirut was warm and attentive!) and super tasty steak and eggs. A humane place for a bite before a flight!
google avatar

Kathy P.

Yelp
Seriously slow or understaffed. We arrived at 1140am, placed our order immediately, bowl of soup & fish & chips. Food took nearly 40 minutes, fish and chips came out cold so we waited another 20 minutes. Now the hot fish was placed on top of the cold coleslaw . Taste of food was average. Another 20 minute wait for the bill. Just glad we had time to wait.
google avatar

Aaron V.

Yelp
I was kind of surprised by the low reviews for this place. The chief complaint seems to stem from speed of service, for a steak restaurant its pretty speedy. I ordered the filet sandwich and it was amazing and came out in about 15 minutes. The filet melted in my mouth and the house sauce was flavorful. I ordered with fries which was a mistake as it came with ketchup and the ketchup really throws off the flavor of any plate with steak. If youre going to order a side I'd go its the mashed potatoes. I was able to make a steakhouse Worcester combo for my fries as I don't like malt vinegar. All and all, great airport experience after missing a connection and waiting for a later flight.
google avatar

Emily L.

Yelp
This was a very depressing experience. I sat for 90 minutes and never got served anything to eat. Eventually I just walked out, leaving cash and a tip on the table to cover my one drink. I had to grab something to eat from a chain restaurant so I wouldn't miss my connecting flight.
google avatar

Mamma W.

Yelp
I had the one person charcuterie board, which is perfect $15 and a glass of Prosecco at $12. Woody the bartender was extremely attentive, keeping up on my refills and very nice to chat with. If you're at the Minneapolis airport, I would recommend eating here.
google avatar

Ella H.

Yelp
Traveling during the winter holidays is always a gamble so we arrived early enough to get dinner. The decor is classy and it feels like a nice restaurant instead of airport fast food. There is a large stocked bar on the right side. The tables include booths, half and halfs, and free standing tables. The menu does not designate allergy or gluten information. We discussed this with the servers and chose the salmon dish and the fish n chips. We also asked for coffee. The plates arrived hot and attractive. The coffee was a showstopper! It was really great coffee with a sidecar of heavy cream. The fish was fluffy and crunchy and the plate was loaded with a mountain of french fries. The coleslaw was particularly good and not a plain afterthought. The salmon dish was excellent with a tasty sauce and perfect veggies. We greatly enjoyed our meals. We will plan ahead to enjoy this restaurant when next we fly through MSP.
google avatar

Lisanne W.

Yelp
Service is extremely slow, restaurant had heat on and it was hot and waitstaff was really hot trying to work. Food was ok, barely warm and priced high even for an airport. Had some hash which was barely warm, half cooked potato slices with mushy frozen green onion and so not worth almost $5. Maybe since it's new it will get better since the location is perfect to catch morning commuters

Chamong L.

Yelp
Extremely slow service. Got drinks that took about 20 mins before we even got to ordering the food. That took even longer. Got the ox burger which was suppose to be medium rare but it was super dry and crispy. Never even got the water that we asked for 3x in the beginning. Staff never came back so asked another waiter for the bill.

Cass H.

Yelp
The food and drinks were delicious. Good quality food and service at the airport. Wow!

Koko C.

Yelp
Ate here twice. First experience was great at the dinner hour. Had the salmon, which was baked perfectly, and my husband had the burger, very tasty. Service and food to table were excellent. We stopped for breakfast on our way back, and never again. The service and kitchen were unacceptably slow, and my husband's hashbrowns were charred black but his eggs were cold. Happily, they removed it from the bill, but there wasn't time to make it again before our flight. For $30 a plate, we expected more.

Cogg F.

Yelp
They don't have enough people working here with only one bartender, they won't let you sit at the bar and eat, which is where all the TVs are so they stuck me in the back and could not watch the football or golf. There are much better choices in the MSP airport.
google avatar

Bob J.

Yelp
Worst service ever. Waited at a bar table 10 minutes for one of these clowns to come over. Just telling stupid old bar stories while everyone on a schedule waits. I know it is just a crummy airport bar, but the prices are more reflective of a decent fine dining restaurant. Very disappointed with this place. Will not be back.
google avatar

Beth L.

Yelp
We had a great experience at the Cook and The Ox in MSP airport this evening. Our server Scott was knowledgeable and provided great service! The food was awesome too. We recommend the bacon and chicken fingers for appetizers and for entree's get the fillet medallions and Ox Burger. thanks!

Bill D.

Yelp
$22 for 2 eggs, 2 slices of bacon, English muffin and hash browns. Ordered eggs over medium, they came out with undercooked whites. Bacon was burnt. English muffin was warmed, not toasted. Hash browns were made in muffin tins, not a bad concept, except they had ice crystals in the middle. Obviously made ahead, frozen, and microwaved upon order. Ambiance was good. Bartender was friendly and attentive. But for $22, your little breakfast (easiest meal of the day to cook!) needs to hit on all points. This was four strikes.
