One of the Best Pizza Spots in Venice Is Leaving After This Summer | Eater LA

"A community-oriented garden and gathering space that has operated for the past decade-plus, it hosted the pizzeria described above (which opened there in May 2024). The site is slated to be developed into a hotel, a change that will lead to the eventual closure of the garden’s current offerings and displace vendors operating inside it." - Matthew Kang

Veteran LA Chef Michael Fiorelli Goes Back to Basics With Wood-Fired Pizza | Eater LA

"On Abbot Kinney Boulevard, Cook’s Garden felt like a Westside incubator where founder Geri Miller built a place for local chefs and bartenders to grow produce; I found Fiorelli Pizza set up there on concrete pads over bare soil, using the garden as its weekly site. The space functions as a low-key, community-minded venue that hosts visiting chefs and small-scale food projects—I learned Fiorelli connected with Miller while at Terranea—and it supports operations that are intentionally simple and intimate." - Matthew Kang

We stopped by here and had some amazing pizza! The people there are so kind and friendly. (My wife loved looking at all the chickens and rabbits). Delicious pizza, and a nice atmosphere despite being right on Abbot Kinney!

We had a corporate event at The Cook's Garden last week and it was everything we had hoped for and more! Geri and her lovely team hosted 30 people for an interactive "plant & sip" event. The snacks were delicious & beautiful and Geri's planting instruction and demo was such a blast. It was a great way to spend an afternoon outside and we even got a chance to tour of their garden and learn about the farm. Thank you! We can't wait to come back!

Kids were having a good time walking in the garden when we were asked to carry the kids. No signs posted about no kids in the garden. And later saw they blocked off the garden to close access. Caretaker went in with the bunnies, but didn’t let them out even though there were clearly kids interested in seeing the bunnies. Don’t come here if you want your kids to interact with/ see where their food comes from.

My husband and I stumbled upon the Cooks Garden after brunch on Abbot Kinney two years ago. We were so intrigued by the beautiful garden in the middle of the city. Although we loved our new apartment and recent move to Venice, we were missing a little extra outdoor space for plants and gardening. After chatting with Geri, we instantly knew we wanted to join the harvesters program. Geri is incredibly knowledgeable and kind, we just adore her. She has taught us so much over the past two years, about gardening, utilizing all parts of each plant, and how to broaden our cooking abilities. It has been such an incredible journey. We feel a sense of tranquility and happiness every time we step into the garden. There are also many events held here. While we love picking our own produce, and eating what we harvest, these events may be my favorite aspect of the Cooks Garden. They are fun and bring the community together. Not being LA born, having this sense of community brings so much joy to my life. The cooks Garden has truly become our second home and we are so grateful to have it.

I went with my husband and my 2 year old daughter. The door was open and there was nothing warning that it was closed. We went in and were told that there would be a show and that we could stay 5 minutes just for my daughter to see the chickens. We didn't even get her out of the stroller and the owner of the place came in and kicked us out in a very unpleasant way. It was the first time we went to this place and honestly I don't feel like going back. What a disappointment to arrive in a place and be treated so badly.

TCG is so, so special. I’ve been in the Harvest Program for the last year or so and I feel so lucky to be able to learn from Geri. Highly recommend checking out the events, which are completely unique and totally a blast.
