I am a lover of corn beef and pastrami sandwiches so I decided to go inside and check this place out. I didn’t care for the bread. It seem kind of dry and if you pick the sandwich up the bread broke apart(really dry) The meat wasn’t as flavorful as I’ve tasted other corn beef and pastrami sandwiches, and I had thought that they had, handmade potato chips but they were regular potato chips so I checked them out and they were OK. I doubt if I’ll return now.

I recently visited the Corn Beef Factory and had mixed feelings about my experience. While the menu offers both Reuben and corned beef options, I opted for the corned beef sandwich, which unfortunately fell short of my expectations. The bread was not soft and lacked the homemade touch, giving the impression it wasn't made with love. Additionally, they weigh the meat, which made the sandwich feel a bit impersonal and less generous than I had hoped. In hindsight, I should've gone for the Reuben. Overall, it's an average spot for a corned beef fix, but there's room for improvement.

Google
Simply put the corn beef is great here! All of the sandwich options were lovely and the homemade chips were to die for. We got it to go in by the time we got back to our house the food was still warm and ready to eat. The old-school traditional corn beef you dream of is exactly what they serve up here! We will be back sometime soon to indulge again. The staff was super friendly!

Google
Very good corned beef sandwich. Piled high. Wonderful service. The management checked in with me. I might become a "regular" here because my husband loved it. Not a lot of seating.

Google
Very good corned beef and pastrami I think you get good value for the price. The menu is very small but the food is very good. I will definitely go there again I recommend eating here.

Google
The vintage diner of your dreams! This place is tucked in west Fulton market but visible with its maroon red paint! Super cute and spacious on the inside with minimal wait times. The staff here is the absolute sweetest! I picked up my turkey sandwich and while I waited for it to be packed the gentlemen who was preparing it was very kind and pleasant to talk to. The sandwich itself was fresh and jam packed with turkey! The fresh kettle chips were warm and crisp and paired well with the sandwich. Overall a very cozy place with good food albeit a bit pricy. Would absolutely recommend checking it out!

Google
Amazing all around. Everything is amazing. When I just went a second time, there was something wrong with the staff and I just wasn't able to get anything to eat. The line just kept getting longer and longer and I couldn't wait anymore. I was only 4th in line but nobody was able to help us

Google
This place has really good sandwiches. This was my first time there and no line and they were fast too. Best corned beef sandwich that I've had in a longtime.

Yelp
If you're in the west loop and in the mood for a corned beef or pastrami sandwich, something different from the popular Italian deli down the street, go to The Corned Beef Factory! Great sandwiches. Homemade chips. Hits the spot.

Aesha E.

Yelp
I passed by this place as I was heading home from the West Loop and it caught my eye because a corned beef sandwich sounded like it would hit the spot as a place to grab a late lunch. It was a surprise how early they closed because they're a sandwich joint with fewer than ten sandwich options, none of which are particularly breakfast themed. I've never seen a restaurant with such a narrow focus but they know their niche and do it well. The rueben I ordered was really good. As someone said, it's not the biggest sandwich you'll ever have but it was well made and I wasn't hungry afterward. The employees were friendly and helpful. Parking is only street, and because it's Lake Ave street parking can be a bit tricky (and expensive). Luckily the el runs right along here. I am rarely in this area so I don't know when I'll be back, and there's so many restaurants around here that I'd probably want to try another, but it's a solid option.

Yelp
One of the few spots in west loop that force you back in time. Place is OG, food is delicious and prices are unreal reasonable for Fulton market. So far I've tried the Tom & Jerry, the Reuben and the corned beef. Each and every sando is credible and the winner is the meats. The kettle chips are simply unrealistic and stay crunchy for a while. You will entirely miss this place if you're not specifically looking for it. Place is a bang for your buck but don't expect Manny sized sandwiches. They are smaller but MORE than plenty for 1 persons meal. Overall- one of my favorite Fulton market lunch spots!

Zoe G.

Yelp
Great Ruben sandwich. The gentleman working was very kind and let us try the meats before picking what sandwich we wanted. Great prices for how much you get.

Karri B.

Yelp
Amazing corn beef sandwiches and the staff was so friendly We really enjoyed our lunch

Dennis P.

Yelp
Well, this place is now off my list. They first started off right with hearty sandwiches and a generous handful of chips all presented in a neat box attached with string for around 12 with drink which was expensive enough for a sandwich. Now you receive less of a stacked sandwich with 1/2 the handful of chips and no box and string presentation. Oh well, nothing lasts forever as they say. I'm done with the poor changes here. Sandwich was good, but not this good.

Sunnette V.

Yelp
A very tasty, meaty authentic corn beef sandwich. I really enjoyed the fresh taste. It has been so hard to find a real good corned beef sandwich, but this place is great and the sandwich is delicious!

Jason F.

Yelp
This is our second day in a row visiting and getting lunch. Yes, it's that good! These guys don't chince on the meat and it's all good! The guy behind the register was super nice and helpful! The place is clean with a great vibe! Folks on and out and gives off the traditional sandwich shop vibe. You can tell a lot of locals come here! Seems like everyone knows each other. Oh yeah, it seems as though the chips are homemade. Crispy and light! Check it out!

Jay B.

Yelp
Very good sandwich shop. Wish they had toppings like potato salad and coleslaw for the corned beef sandwich. The corned beef texture was a bit tough and rubbery but I would go back. Decent grilled cheese.

Mary c.

Yelp
Best corned beef sandwich. Portions are generous. Pickle and chips great side. You know this is sliced off the brisket right there. Makes a huge difference. Price is reasonable for sure.

Marvin V.

Yelp
Most delicious corn beef I have ever had. I am hoping it is real corn beef and not the chopped and press product that you find some restaurants use. Tender and flavorful.

Lucky R.

Yelp
Delicious fast service and excellent price. Would definitely go back. Totally fits Chicago.

Phaithe N.

Yelp
Amazing sandwiches with good flavors. Simple and filling. Worth the prices, and the meals come with their homemade potato chips. Multiple sandwich options such as pastrami and Italian beef! Rapid service.

Leang E.

Yelp
I appreciate the simplicity of the place. You know it's going to be great because there are only 9 sandwiches to choose from, so much more focus with a limited menu. I had the Tom and Jerry so that I could have both the corned beef and pastrami. Flavor was excellent but maybe I am being too picky but admittedly could have had a bit more meat seeing pictures from others makes me feel I got slightly short changed. Service was quick and prices are reasonable.

Adrian T.

Yelp
Went to the factory and I was totally disappointed. I ordered a Ruben sandwich and I was expecting the sandwich to be flavorful and I was not a happy camper. First it did not taste like corn beef and the sandwich was not as fat as it is posted on some pictures I have seen. I really wanted to savor the taste of a real corn beef sandwich.

Ringo 7.

Yelp
This is the first time I've been here. This is the first time I've had a corned beef sandwich since COVID started. Let me tell you the price is right. As a retiree I can't see me spending $25.00 for a sandwich all the time like at Manny's. These are $.14.00 plus change. You also get chips with your meal. I'll be back

Michiel D.

Yelp
Good for takeout, not as a sit down. The service is extremely friendly and fast, yet food was lacking a bit. I ordered the pastrami sandwich. The pastrami itself was great, thinly sliced and plentiful, yet there was barely any mustard on the sandwich and the pickle spear was just a tiny addition to the platter. The home made chips did make up for this. The venue itself is pretty dark and not so cosy. Unfortunately also no possibility to sit outside with good weather.

A F.

Yelp
Went to this place for the first time and had a good experience. It's a smaller restaurant with a great location near Fulton Market. The customer service was amazing, my family and I were chatting it up with an employee and he was just the nicest most hospitable person ever. He even gave us free potato chips to go home with after we told him how excited we were to try out the food. I got the turkey sandwich which tasted pretty good along with the house made potato chips which were super crunchy. It's a pretty good sandwich not bad at all. Definitely would give it a 7/10. Try it out if you're in the area!

Rebecca H.

Yelp
Yes! Yes! Yes! This place is the real deal. They make their own pastrami and corned beef. And it is absolutely worth it. Peppery and juicy and fabulous. The menu is small and simple but on point. I ordered the Tom & Jerry with spicy mustard. Everything is served on rye. The chips are homemade-super thin cut and crispy. It was every bit of two meals for me. The place is super clean. A simple shotgun dining room with very few seats. The staff is friendly.

Annemarie H.

Yelp
Just a 3.5 / 4. I'm spoiled because of a place called SLYMANS in Cleveland but this was ok. Great price $13. They were outta Swiss cheese and the rye was just ok. Would I go back? Yeh probably but it really was just mehhh! Great location RIGHT OFF Morgan Green Line. Great customer service. VERY CLEAN. And fast too! :)

Alex P.

Yelp
I thoroughly enjoy the food from this spot. The reuben was very tasty. The owner was loud and amusing as he spoke to his employees. This is not a place that I would frequent, hence the four stars.

Christopher V.

Yelp
Very respectable sandwiches. ..not amazing or particularly memorable, but good. Nice portions and product quality. Fumare Meats & Deli was my go to in this area for pastrami, but the legend that was recently closed their doors. Friendly service, neat packaging, quality ingredients. Not better than Manny's and definitely can't compete with Hershel's Eastside Deli in the Philadelphia Terminal Market. Hershel's is #1 in my book. Honestly 3.33 stars, but considering everything that's going on, I'm giving a generous 4 star rating.

Susan N.

Yelp
Visiting from out of town and found this place. The corned beef was fabulous! Small inside but clean and very friendly service.

Craig D.

Yelp
Food is good, but don't order ahead using Yelp. They've been out of turkey twice and have no way (or desire) to let you know or refund you. Bari or JP Graziano are better alternatives that won't jack you around.

Nolan F.

Yelp
I like that their shop now has spacious indoor seating. The staff were nice. The meat quality and portions are good. Prices are a few dollars cheaper than Manny's Deli AND sandwiches come with chips. I think the rye bread and meats are tastier at Manny's Deli though. Chips were very good - lightly crunchy and right amount of salt.

Mike G.

Yelp
Corned Beef Factory is a great sandwich shop in the West Loop. Not a large menu but the sandwiches are really good. Other than the corned beef sandwich, the turkey rueben is decorous. Each sandwich comes with chips and a pickle. Service is quick and staff is always friendly. There's a few tables inside but not many so it's a good carry out spot. There's street parking on Lake Street but can fill up quickly.

Nerina B.

Yelp
The ambience is rustic and inviting. They also have a nice outside sitting area decorated with flowers. I ordered the Tom and JerryCombo. It has Pastrami and Corned Beef On Rye bread with mustard, and Swiss cheese with a side of pickles and homemade potato chips. The sandwich was really good. Both kinds of meat were good. They pile it on the bread so you get a nice portion size. The bread was soft and fresh. The homemade potato chips were good as well. They were not greasy and had the right amount of seasoning. They were cooked nicely.

Jill O.

Yelp
Such a nice little place. There's a little bit of seating here, including barrel tables and a community style table. The menu is very simple and as the name implies: corned beef. They have pastrami and turkey sandwiches as well, between $10-12. And hot dogs, for $5. We got the Tom and Jerry ($11) which is half pastrami and half corned beef on rye bread with either yellow or brown mustard, and swiss. With chips and pickle on the side. You definitely get your money's worth of meat, and it's delicious, tender, and well seasoned. The staff was super helpful, and super quick too, we were in and out with our to go brown box in about 5 minutes. This place is definitely worth checking out if you're in the area or need a quick lunch.

Yelp
Walking around Saturday I wanted something to go with my salad, something refreshing and lite. I passed by this location and double back. The menu was hanging outside and I thought umm I could eat a salad and sandwich. So in I went with no idea what to order for my spouse and I. But then as I approached the counter the Corned beef smelled amazing, the chef was creating a masterpiece in front of my eyes. I knew I would get The Reuben and a Corned Beef sandwich. Both sandwiches were delicious, no I didn't eat both. My spouse and I split it so we both could experience it. When I go back I will ask for extra kraut because I like the blend of corned beef and sauerkraut. If you are a fan of hearty meat sandwiches you will not be disappointed. Here's a bonus they make their OWN chips, yup I know your mouth is watering now but wait for it the pickles are just as amazing. Go and thank me later

Montserrat M.

Yelp
Awesome spot in the West Loop to grab something quick (but that isn't fast food) and very filling & flavorful! Came here on a Saturday and the guy behind the counter was super kind and helpful! Highly recommend because their menu is simple and affordable. I paid $5 + tip for a delicious grilled cheese sandwich, a pickle cut, and homemade chips! Everything was a 10/10. I was going to post this review with a photo but I inhaled the food as it was that good!

Bonnie C.

Yelp
Best Reuben and customer service in Chicagoland! We held a Reuben taste test competition and the corned beef factory won unanimously! It had the best quality and quantity corned beef. The bread was not too hard and not too soft with a delicious flavor. The Reuben didn't even require additional thousand island dressing dipping sauce. The staff is nice, funny, and super accommodating.

AJ M.

Yelp
Very cool concept. Cornbeef/ Pastrami sandwiches do not get as much love as it should. The sandwiches here are good, just like you typical deli, but in west loop.

Bart S.

Yelp
I was a little depressed today, thought, I knew what would cheer me up, a great pastrami sandwich- headed towards the Corned Beef Factory on the near west side. I was thinking, on the way there, sure hope they are sill in business, it's been a while since I was over that way. To my surprise as I arrived- they moved, but just across the street. The new spot was better, it was small, but it had seating, which the previous spot did not. Food was as great as I remembered it. Also- the counter person couldn't have been nicer and more efficient. Service was fast, despite a couple people ahead of me. Sandwich was served with some salty non-de script potato chips and 1 pickle spear...I would have like two pickles- sandwich was a healthy portion of pastrami which was tasty and perfect. The only downer here is the parking situation- it's tough to park anywhere around there- spots come and go, so good luck with that.

Karolina J.

Yelp
Yummy! Met a friend here for lunch on Saturday with my dog. I read that the place was dog friendly but was a bit disappointed because they didn't have seating outside. Luckily the guys inside let us grab stools outside and we used the barrels as a table. Cash only!!! And price range is around $10-$12 But comes with a large sandwich and chips. They load the meats! I really enjoyed the Ruben. It had great flavor and was super juicy. My friend opted for the Italian beef which he also enjoyed. This is a great place for lunch. I will definitely be back.

Kyle W.

Yelp
Probably the best Italian beef I've ever had. Welcoming and chill environment to top. Very reasonable prices.

Daniel M.

Yelp
Went here during a lunch break. A popular spot definitely but nonetheless the food is all being freshly prepared quick. Their house chips are good. I never buy plain original potato chips but theirs here taste fresh and good. The Tom & Jerry combo is good. Very filling and the packaging to go is nicely done. Very unique interior design too. Walls are all wood. On the outside the glass seems tinted, thus I almost didn't even know it was a restaurant. Nonetheless they have a thing outside displaying specials.

Troy B.

Yelp
Maybe I was overhyped on a lot of sandwich enthusiast telling me to try this place. I had the corned beef With homemade chips. It was not anything special. Maybe I need to try the Tom and Jerry next time. Extremely standard sandwich, nothing to rave about.

Michael B.

Yelp
The world has changed and so has the CBF. Less protein for a higher cost has become the norm. At least the buy 2 get 1 free on Saturdays allows you to split the protein between the other sandwiches.

Alzetta H.

Yelp
I don't know what I can say that have been said. But I have been on Yelp for about 7 years and this is my 2nd five star review. This sandwich is AMAZING!!!! I'm the bread is perfectly hearty to hold all the incredible meat they give you. The meat is very lean and delicious!!!! AND i just learned it's buy one get one free on Saturdays. LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!!! Wait I forgot to mention the homemade chips. I generally don't even like homemade chips but I ate every last one of these!!!!

Dan T.

Yelp
Corned Beef Factory is a staple in Chicago. They make homemade chips in house. The corned beef is very juicy and stacked high. I highly recommend the Tom and Jerry to experience both the pastrami and corned beef. They don't have Manny's like prices which is another plus. Strongly recommend and will frequent again soon!!

Maia S.

Yelp
Great sandwiches! I wish I lived closer to Chicago so I could come here for a good lunch break. It's so quick and easy because you order and they had our order ready in no longer than 5 minutes! Sooo tasty and the house made chips are also so crunchy and similar to kettle cooked. I ate mine and some of my fiancé's because they were so good.

Danielle B.

Yelp
I visited The Cornbeef Factory on a recent trip to Chicago. I knew I was in for a treat considering that this place has been open for several years. The attendant at the counter was very friendly and told us the specials for the day. I ordered 1 Tom and Jerry, along with a pastrami sandwich. Both were served with a pickle and homemade kettle chips. I was surprised there was no macaroni or potato salad offered with the meal. The order came up quickly, which was great. It was raining and I was starving. I took the first bite and knew this was not the pastrami sandwich I had been dreaming of. The bread was dry and was not toasted. I could barely taste any spicy mustard. I doubt there was a smear. The cheese was not melted. The only positive was the serving size. The quality of the meat was plentiful and flavourful. The kettle chips were burnt.

Jack K.

Yelp
Had lunch here for the first time today, so went with the Corned Beef Sandwich, naturally. I swapped out the rye bread for French bread, and then went with spicy mustard and Swiss cheese. It was one of the better sandwiches I've had in a long time, and maybe my favorite home made potato chips I've ever had. It's small place but there's a still a decent amount of seating. They put the sandwiches into boxes and tie them with string, which seems to be their calling card of sorts. I'll definitely be back soon to try a few more of the sandwiches.

Audrey C.

Yelp
Holy yum this place is good! Corned Beef Sandwich: 8.5/10. Only giving this 8.5 because I sampled their pastrami after and that was even BETTER! After I ate, the workers recommended I get the Tom and Jerry as it's the best of both worlds. Their pastrami is so juicy and flavorful WOW. Potato Chips: 12/10. Homemade everyday. Melt in your mouth. So salty and delicious.

Milton J.

Yelp
Perfect little spot for lunch. Only and always get the Rueben! Good priced, and always in and out in a timely manner.

Eric P.

Yelp
If you're a cyclist, check out how much they care about your safety in this photo. This is a repeat problem with the shop. The food isn't very good and you'll find better beef at Manny's.

Doug B.

Yelp
I'm a native New Yorker so I've certainly had my taste of CB sandwiches in the past. If I had not, I'm sure I'd give them 5 stars and an over the top 'rave' review. My first visit, I ordered their namesake, a Corned Beef on Rye. I added yellow mustard, pickle and a Slice of Swiss Cheese. Pro: Take a look at the photo I've attached. These guys know how to stack up a sandwich. The meat is lean with excellent flavor, the mustard is slathered on and the bread is a nice chewy rye. The pickle placed on the side is crunchy with excellent flavor and the house made chips, well, I'll get an additional order on my next visit as the 'right sized' portion was not enough. They place each order in a 'cute' cardboard box and tie it up with a length of string earning an A+ for presentation as well as a great stacking opportunity for larger (office) orders. Con: It's a cold sandwich which would be much much more satisfying if it had some warmth and a bit more moisture to it. That's it... The location, under the tracks on Lake Street, and steps away from Restaurant Row on Randolph Street, provides little parking (though there is a loading zone, use your flashers). The business is small, standing room to eat and a small outside for better weather (though, again, under the tracks). $$$: Sandwiches with Corned Beef run $11 or $12 and they are cash only. Aside from Corned Beef and Pastrami sandwiches, they also offer a Chicago Hot Dog, Italian Beef or Turkey option. Somehow, I doubt seriously I'll ever be able to review any of them as the CB options will keep me busy. If your office treats you right this is a really good 'take out' option for all who are not, you know, vegetarian. I've heard they will take a credit card for pre pay over the phone but check your wallet, stop by an ATM, before going otherwise, again, cash only in store. I'd wager that a different location, with seating and parking, would be well worth it to them... just a thought! Looking forward to trying the Reuben and the CB & Pastrami options.

Phil S.

Yelp
Last week I finally made it to The Corned Beef Factory (TCBF) @ 1009 W Lake Street. This has been bookmarked for awhile. The location isn't the easiest to access as there is very little street parking as it's just west of the loop area, however I did get lucky and there are 2 spots directly in front of the restaurant designated for pick ups and someone was leaving as I pulled up. TCBF is mainly a pick up with some limited seating outside. I called in my order for pick up. I ordered a Tom & Jerry which is a combination corned beef/pastrami w/spicy mustard. I added sauerkraut & cheese on rye bread for $11 which I got for free courtesy of a coupon. The sandwich was very good w/generous portions of corned beef & pastrami. The sandwich was succulent and very good, by a tad too salty for my tastes. This also come with pickles and chips. The people that I assumed were the owners were super nice and accommodating. Definitely worth checking out

Shari B.

Yelp
Still my favorite corned beef shop! This time I got the Tom and Jerry Combo which has warm corned beef, pastrami, swiss and spicy mustard on rye. I think this one is my favorite. A whole sandwich is definitely too much for me to eat in one sitting, so I eat half and take home the other half. The chips are still amazing and the puffs are a great ending to the meal. The honey puffs are fried light dough balls with a soft and pillowy, almost gooey inside and doused in a thin honey sauce with cinnamon. I love this place. Cash only.
