Lakeview Punk Icon The Alley and its New Cafe Are Closing Again | Eater Chicago

"Lettuce Entertain You is turning Oyster Bah’s basement into a separate but related restaurant called Crab Cellar, inspired by the popular Lincoln Park seafood spot’s Thursday night special; Crab Cellar will serve only unlimited Alaskan king crab, burgers, and sides (plus drinks) for $59.95 per person on Wednesdays through Sundays and is slated to open on October 10." - Daniel Gerzina

We stopped here on our way home, and it’s definitely a must-stop spot! Even though I’m not a big seafood lover, I decided to give it a try — I got wings (which were delicious) and some Alfredo too. I’m usually hesitant about seafood restaurants because there aren’t always many non-seafood options, but this place completely surprised me. Everything was flavorful, fresh, and cooked perfectly. The snow crabs were also amazing — the rest of my group couldn’t stop talking about them! Whether you’re a seafood fan or not, this place is worth the visit. Great food, great service, and such a fun stop on the way home.

Ordered small half bushel for $85 yesterday. Crabs were old and brittle. Super disappointed as I drive 40 minutes here to treat myself to crabs. We just threw em out it wasn’t any point in wasting gas to return.

Google
Ordered large females and I assume they were out. Instead of advising me that they were out they gave me mediums and threw a few extra in. At least give me the option to alter my order. Prob won’t ever go or recommend this place to anyone. Not to mention the ones I did have were empty. Update: a year later I went back for large male I feel like I received an array or small, medium, and large. I can honestly say I’ve tried.

I have gotten crabs from here many times and they was always great until last week. I brought a 1/2 bushel of mix females. What got was 1/2 bushel of pickin crabs that was trash. I called to let them know, I was offer a refund if I return the crabs. One I couldn't bring them back because I was far away and two they didn't have the correct crabs to fix the situation only pickin crabs. Which ment you knew that those crabs you sold me was pickin crabs. I'm very disappointed 😞 Please do better!!

This place has been a staple of my childhood, my dad would take me as a child. It’s always been a good place. The owners and staff are awesome. Plus I love that it’s so close to home!

Food was awesome! Call in your order or order when you get there. Crabs by the dozen or bushel. Food seasoned well. It is take out only and fair price.

Yelp
Ordered the hard shell deep fried stuffed crab and babeeeee....so good. Hate to say tik tok brought me here but it did. A 30 min ride across town took me to this spot. Tiny area for parking and a little corner business across from McDonald's. Small and clean inside. Pleasant and busy staff. Menu board on wall. 2 benches inside for seating and one on porch. Folks in and out with crabs. I was so excited waiting must say it was worth the wait. Tasty crab cake. Large crab. Tasty batter . No way you could go wrong with this combo. I dipped forkfuls in mustard and predict I'll make a few meals from this

Yelp
The crabs are top tier. the taste has been the same great taste since I was kid but the one thing that is so frustrating is that they're hardly ever open when I call for crabs. It sucks because I really love eating here but boy oh boy Im sick of chasing them. the service is also great by the way which is why I just keep on calling

Yelp
Guess who had crabs on Memorial Day weekend 2020, when a bunch of other places were sold out? Corner Crab House did, that's who! While not as peppery as my beloved Conrad's of Parkville's crab seasoning, Corner Crab House's crab seasoning was tasty. I especially enjoyed that they only lightly seasoned the crabs because I prefer light seasoning unlike HubBae & most of our friends and family. Their location is LITERALLY on a street corner, so be prepared to find parking and stroll up to plant yourself in the line of people waiting for their call ahead orders. Don't be discouraged by the back to back busy signal when you call for orders because they're............. well............. always pretty busy, I guess. LOL. When they sell out of crabs, there's a recording that plays letting you know it when you call. I appreciate that kind of efficiency and up to the hour attentiveness but would rate them 4.5 stars because some of their large sized crabs were true mediums and some mediums were more "smedium" sized. None were light and all were steamed great, but I like crab shacks to align size pretty accurately with price point. The people working at The Corner were nice and helpful, too.

Yelp
My favorite place for crabs. Codie's , stuffed shrimp, this is my seafood go to place, I love everything they make and serve, they are a small building but they provide huge flavors and tastes, even the stuffed deviled eggs are amazing, give them a try, the prices are reasonable.

Yelp
They could work on their costumer service. I spoke to Two different women today. The one taking my order over the phone and the one handling the pick-up orders when I got there. Both seemed like I was bothering them by placing an order. I didn't even get a response when I said thank you to either of them. It isn't like there aren't 8384884488484 places to get crabs in Baltimore. They should act like it. But the crabs were good...

CeCe M.

Yelp
Went to order crabs and most places were sold out. So i figured I'd try corned. The crabs were steamed well and meaty. I only took off a star because I think they were $10 bucks over price.

Yelp
Coming from a crabologist "Delicious crabs" all year!!! Money well spent every time. I'm headed there right now to get a dozen medium females which should be considered large for $40.

Yelp
Despite my husband being nervous as we drove through 'the hood' to get here, this place has legit crabs to go. We got a bushel of mediums for $ 95 in early July (Sunday July 10th). Crabs were delicious, well steamed, and pretty heavy considering they were mediums. I would go back again, earlier in the afternoon to get better crab prices as they do go up closer to closing time.

Yelp
NOTE TO READER: This is your resident Honeycomb Hideout Hellcat typing. The review you are about to read is for a place that is not widely known, not famous, not in any Baltimore magazine, and you may not even find it on MapQuest...but trust & believe you WILL NOT be disappointed should you venture to the east side trenches to peep this spot for your crustacean fix. Corner Crab has some of best meaty and/or juicy crabs in East Baltimore. The prices are usually what I would consider "just okay" but when you taste the crabs, the complaints about what you paid coming out of your mouth are soon forgotten as you insert a crab leg into it. I deal with this place mainly for bulk orders only because they give the best deals on bushels and even throw in random dozens for free. Also, you are entered for chances to win a free bushel during the Summer months and they hold drawings weekly! With most crab spots, whether off season or during the Summer, it's always a good idea to call ahead and find out crab prices and the availability of what you want. Same applies here. Just because this spot is small, literally on the corner and is nothing but a mere house shaped shack, don't make the mistake of thinking this place doesn't get heavy business. Crab enthusiasts from the west side of town frequent this place for special occasions requiring bulk orders of crabs. Everyone I know has also had great customer service experiences with this place so I'm thinking the last reviewer may have caught them on a bad night. Anyway, try it for yourself and see.

Yelp
They have delicious crabs, but can be quite abit pricey. Ive never had an issue with customer service but Ive heard from family and friends that certain workers can be rude. I only get crabs twice a year to celebrate the holidays so I must just be lucky enough to always get a good worker. Or maybe because Im already really polite they just reflect that back. Either way my only complaint is the price but I understand from a business perspective with supply and demand why the price is higher. Maybe one day theyll get their own crab farm and grow their own crabs. That would be cool. Lolz!

Yelp
I'm not an expert on crabs. I eat them probably 2 to 3 times a year. But after having shelled out (no pun intended) $50 for dozen after dozen of mediocre "large" crabs at various other places in the area this place was fantastic. A bona fide 'hon' greeted me at the counter, seemingly misplaced in this seedy neighborhood. The larges were the largest larges I've ever received, and at $45 their 'dozen' came with 18 crabs. (A special they were running) Maybe its the time of the year - I understand fall is when the true Maryland crabs (i.e., not Louisiana/NC crabs) are sold. Maybe you just have to hike out to shady parts of town to find good crabs. Maybe this place has just been around since the neighborhood was nice because their crabs are so good. I don't know. All I know is I got ridiculously large crabs with gobs of seasoning (how it's supposed to be), cooked perfectly (not slimy, not spongy). I'll definitely be back.

Yelp
I would give them 5 stars because their crabs are good sometimes but pricey I wouldn't mind paying the price but the lady who take your order with the blonde hair is prejudice and rude she actually told me to set my money on the counter picked it up with a napkin and before that I asked her did she have any female crabs and instead of saying yes or no she spoke in a rude voice saying wait until I get to you she spoke 5 words instead of saying yes or no which was 1 word wow I'll never go there again

Yelp
They have the biggest crabs ive ever seen! $80 for a dozen jumbo males but you can get full off just one! The stuff shrimp are pretty good too.

Yelp
The service was horrible. I used to eat here when the 'dad' handled the register and he was overall a great person but the 'kids' are rude, slow and uncaring. It always crowded and hot. The wait time is long and my order was completely wrong. Never again

Yelp
Lastweek I really wanted some crabs. So when I stopped at McDonald's across the street from the crab house to return a movie to the redbox, the aroma of the seasoning turned me around. The customer service was pretty good also.I actually ate 10 small crabs. Next time I'll order medium.

Yelp
NOT giving this place an other try. Their hours listed are incorrect. Waste of time to deal with incompetence.

Yelp
Shocked! The crab cakes are the best we ever had. Jumbo lump crab meat. We don't even get that quality in a nice restaurant. While we were waiting , Mr John let up sample a really good crab. Will be back. Sam L
