Corner Slice Review - Midtown - New York - The Infatuation

"We understand if you’re skeptical about this Hell’s Kitchen slice spot opened by people behind a ramen restaurant on the LES. But they pull it off. This vendor in Gotham West Market serves the best slices in Midtown. The crust is what makes these square slices special, and the crunchy, airy squares are so light that you can eat three of them and still stay awake during your boss’s speech on boosting morale. The topping options are pretty straightforward here, and our favorites are the ones that let the crust shine, like the one that’s just topped with sweet tomatoes, oregano, and grated cheese." - Team Infatuation

A small pizza shop serving big, delicious New York style pies. It's right on the corner + the parking is in the back. Street parking too. They make medium-thin crusted pizzas, perfectly baked to be crispy/chewy that pizza should be. They are generous with toppings so create your favorite or order one of their specialty pizzas. I got the Meat Lovers one with pepperoni, Italian sausage + shaved ham + it just melted in your mouth with flavor. My BF loved it. I also ordered a cheese pizza with garlic + fresh basil which was so good! The fresh basil was amazing on it. They lay on the sauce + cheese nicely too, no skimping here. They offer all the usual toppings plus include Parmesan cheese + hot pepper for take-outs. Couple tables inside and nice patio with tables outside. Friendly service too! I also like how their Large pizza is actually large! So many places have shrunk their pizza sizes so that a Large is really medium-sized now most everywhere else, which is not fair. THIS place has true old school pizzas at reasonable prices that are worth the trip.

The food is so good! The prices are reasonable! The staff is so nice and welcoming! I’ve always ordered Togo and they are always okay with me running a quick errand then returning to pay and pick up my order. Great location, and the music is a nice vibe.. there’s plenty of seating if you do want to dine in. Garlic knot balls , pepperoni pizza, and the lasagna all taste amazing!

I’m visiting my family in Los Angeles from San Diego ca. the reviews were great for this place so I came for pizza and the famous lemon pepper wings. Let me tell you, so yummy! Pizza and wings were so delicious. You will be so glad you came. Come and check it out.

Wow! Amazing!! Service, incredible. Flavor, bomb. Pizza was fire. And the lemon pepper wings to freakin die for. A 100% must drive. My family and I drove out here from Covina ca. and it was worth every mile. Highly recommend.

Google
We got chicken wings, really good flavor and moist, not dry at all. The pizza has a good flavor, and thin bottom and crunchy crusts love that. I should have taken pictures as soon as i got the food, but I was hungry .

Google
I was craving pizza and I was not disappointed. What a great tasting pizza! I highly recommend this place. I heard about the world famous lemon pepper wings and let me just say, they are a must try. You just have too . They are sooo gooood. The service was amazing. Come Try , you won’t be disappointed.

Google
We came in at 3:20 pm, the place was clean, tons of parking and staff were friendly and polite. We ordered the combo pizza- large and it was delicious! 2 adults and 3 kids and we enjoyed our food. We also ordered a slice of tiramisu which was delicious! 11/10 recommend!!

Google
I've been passing by The Corner slice for A minute. I had time today & took my wife to sit & eat. Quality pizza! Big medium pizza brought to our table. They also have A patio section outside to eat. Love this place, the chipotle bbq wings are ridiculously good. Nice local spot we gotta support & they got busy during the hour we were there

Yelp
As soon as I walked in..I was greeted. I can smell the pizza. It's a small mom and pop shop. I ordered a cheese slice. The pizza was perfect. Thin crust, cheese was melted perfectly. The amount of sauce was on point. The taste was exactly what I was going for. Definitely worth the visit. A++++

Yelp
We decided to finally give this place a try after driving by many times. I can see how they might appeal to folks who don't want to invest in a whole pizza but wanna indulge in a specialty slice for a quick bite. In our case, we usually order whole pies but wanted to see how they are and tried a couple slices. Needless to say, we feel pretty deceived by their high rating. The extra star is for the service. They're friendly enough, but the pizza just SEVERELY lacks on many levels. The crust was too crunchy and cardboard-like, the sauce was bland and flavorless, and to top it all off, it was overcooked while the toppings were very undercooked. We also really didn't appreciate the huge long slices of peppers and onion thrown onto the Veggie, and the big chunks of tomato & basil that just sat on top of a dried out cheese slice. It was kinda like eating a shitty sparse salad on top of an even shittier sheet of bread. Seems like when you order by-the-slice, they take an old cheese slice, throw the toppings on with 5 sprinkles of cheese (if you're lucky) and rebake it. Maybe that's also why they're overcooked? But the toppings are basically raw and none of them mingle or fuse with any cheese. Based on how they handle their slices, we decided it was too risky to try their other offerings. I really try to support small businesses in the community but this was just bad. Luckily for us, our go-to pizza spot is just down the street. Slicey's is literally just a couple blocks east on Pico, and they've never disappointed. They definitely have the superior pizza in the area and excellent wings. Highly recommend them over this place. You can thank me later.

Yelp
Placed a catering order the same day for 5 pizzas 2 salads and 2 orders of wings and they got everything done with absolutely no problems. The wings were massive and perfectly sauced, they didn't last 15 minutes. The Caesar salad is classic, and all 5 pizzas were crispy and fresh. Will absolutely order again!

Yelp
Just one slice over the course of one visit and I had to give thanks. Before now, I'd never met a NY slice I liked. They had all been limp, and honestly a little lazy. I stepped in with a wish that this pizza really wasn't like other pizza; it was ~different~. Imagine my surprise when I heard a crunch during my first bite and every bite after that. I'm hard to please, but Corner Slice made a woman out of me.

Yelp
Friendly employee taking orders. Prices are fair. Pizza was good. It wasn't the best pizza; and certainly not the worst. Will come back again!

Yelp
The place is good for a quick stop , price is very reasonable but the crust was no good. The cheese and sauce tasted good but maybe the dough quality was just not there.
google avatar

Kyle W.

Yelp
Came here for 3x slices on a Friday afternoon. The cheese and sauce taste good, but the crust left a lot to be desired. It's frozen-pizza-ish style, thin but cardboardy (if that makes sense). Got one Pepp and 2x cheese slices. Pepperoni was my favorite, crispy and not overly salty. All slices were very greasy, so def grab napkins on way out. Overall, I really appreciate a neighborhood slice shop in LA and may come back in a pinch, but have had much better pizza in Mid-city area.

Yelp
Was just passing by when I noticed this little slice of heaven!! No pun intended, popped in to take a look and decided to try' a few slices, was really Impressed with the pizza sauce, I'll definitely be back when I'm in the area!!! The atmosphere and the entire staff were awesome.......

Yelp
I really was craving pizza so I came as soon as they opened . The pizza was good and decently priced . Good value . There was already a client waiting but the service was fast , the man tried really hard to give the best possible service, I'm sad I couldn't tip him with the machine they use for credit cards.( I don't carry cash) . The ambience was nice had places to sit and gave a mom and pops restaurant vibe .

Yelp
The owner is super sweet. I celebrated my friend's bday with some Pizza, wings, salad and art! The staff were really attentive and turned on heater and music in the patio area. We ordered the combo pizza, salad, and habanero wings. The medium pizza was good enough for 3 people. The Cesar salad was crispy and delicious. The habanero wings were super spicy! I would recommend this place for good food and great ambience.

Yelp
I stumbled upon this place one day and I've been coming here ever since. Even though the restaurant looks super unassuming, the food and service is soooo good. The pizzas are thin crust and the perfect marriage between crispy and fluffy. I'd recommend the classic pepper is and the Hawaiian. Now the WINGS, so darn good! I really wasn't expecting it but these might just be some of the yummiest wings I've had. I found the wings to be flavorful and crunchy/juicy (I'd recommend the garlic parm). I've even had the salads which are also just as yummy! Service is also just as great. The workers make you feel really cared for and the vibe is super homey. If you want to sit down, I'd recommend sitting out back where they have a sort of "Lady & The Tramp" spaghetti scene ambience going on. So cute!

Lucy R.

Yelp
I found my favorite pizza place! We tried the pepperoni and Hawaiian pizza and it was excellent. I love the thin crust and the fresh ingredients. We also had the lemon pepper, garlic Parmesan, and chipotle BBQ wings . Hands down best wings I have had. Must try this family own business when you are In town. You won't be disappointed.

Yelp
This a must visit place here in LA. The pizza is amazing! The wings and pasta are excellent. You will not be disappointed. You can also grab a slice to go if you're short on time. The owners Vidal and Ed are super friendly and always have a great attitude towards everyone. The restaurant is super clean and they always keep the party going with good music. The pizza is has amazing crust and isn't too thick. We tried the pepperoni and Hawaiian. Every bite was thin and crisp. Ingredients were fresh and my only complaint was that I didn't get more. We also tried the wings and chicken salad which were so good I didn't share with my family. It's a great little corner place where all the locals come by. It's always a great time for pizza!

Yelp
This is my fifth or so time buying slices and whole pies from The Corner Slice. Their pizza has a straightforward original recipe with quality ingredients. The dough and crust are awesome. Service is all around professional. This place is small and best suited for on the go ordering. Call-in and carry-out orders are fantastic. Thanks for the great pizza: pepperoni, pineapple, & jalapeño.

Yelp

Yelp
Cheep, fast, good food, and good service . I was pleasantly surprised by this spot while waiting for my son to get out of practice. Thin crust pizza was delicious , the ceasar salad fresh and crisp

Yelp
Fantastic pizza! Not anything you would expect from a corner hole in the wall pizza joint. This pizza is on par with authentic NY pizza and one of the best in town. Highly recommend you give it a try!
google avatar

Yelp
Ordered a cheese pizza - sauce and cheese were tasty, and slices held up well(passed the flop test). But the breading tasted a little plain. Would definitely come back though! Cooks were chill too. Parking in the back!

Yelp
It is on the corner and they offer single slices. I think it's family owned and operated. Everyone was really warm and welcoming. I decided to order the Buffalo wings after the young man at the register told me it was popular, a cheese pizza with extra sauce and the veggie pizza. It was a 20 minute wait because everything is made fresh to order and I didn't mind as everyone was very friendly and sweet. My order came out too hot to handle, lol. I was burning my thighs in the car as we drove home. We actually had to let the food cool down before we could dig in. The cheese pizza was gooey, flavored and delicious. I kept going back to it and letting my spoiled dogs have the crust which they devoured. The veggie pizza was fresh and delicious as well. The chicken wings were just okay. We ended up baking them a bit more in the oven the next day and adding seasoning and then they were FIRE! Pizza kept well the day after too. We just popped what was left in the oven and voila! Bon Appétit! I added some garlic seasoning to the veggie for an extra wow and was very happy with my skills. I would go back to this establishment. You can eat there but the restaurant is pretty small. I wish they had more toppings and specialty pizzas like Barbeque chicken. I also wish they showed the chicken wings more seasoning love. Good food. Good price. Friendly staff. Thank you, Pizza people!

Yelp
This is my new pizza spot out here in the town I come here for 2 reasons Good service & good pizza I dropped all the other pizza spots around here over this place Really humble owner and he trained his workers really good thanks for always showing love.!

Yelp
I got a slice of pepperoni pizza for $3, which is a little on the pricier side for the size. The pizza was solid though. It was freshly heated, not too greasy, and had a nice crisp dough. There's parking in the back of the restaurant and a few tables inside to eat. They do have a minimum of $4 for credit and debit card use, so bring cash if you're not planning to spend more than that.

Yelp
MMMMM I Am SO HAPPY that I found this cute little pizza shop. It's DELISH!!! The pizza was EXACTLY how I LOVE my pizza to be. I asked for a crispy crust & they Nailed it! The Caesar salad is BOMB too & the prices are Unbeatable. I ordered a slice of cheese pizza & my only regret is that I didn't order MORE! The only constructive criticism I might have is to add a bit more pizza sauce. I personally InJoy a saucier pizza, but since the crust & cheese were Perfectly cooked, I wouldn't dock them any stars for it. It just might be something to think about in the future. I'm happy & sad to know this place exists, LoL. I'm sad because the place is way too close to where I live for comfort I've been Really Good about eating Healthier & knowing this spot is just a hop, skip & a jump away (as well as EXTREMELY DELISH!), it makes it Too Easy to want to cheat...a LOT Last thing I want to say is the employees were Super Nice, welcoming & accommodating. Thank You, The Corner Slice! Hopefully I can keep my distance, but I'm Sure you'll be seeing me again

Yelp
After the concert at Catch One we ended up here right before closing for some midnight munchies. My brother and I ordered the large mushroom pizza and within 15 minutes we were digging in and endulging in their great tasting pizza. They should stay open a bit longer during concert nights to feed the buzzed hungry crowd.

William P.

Yelp
We have ordered from this restaurant more than multiple times over the last couple of months and I've loved the pizza and pasta. Unfortunately, last order got multiple parts of our order wrong. After contacting Slice, pizza app, they did a follow up with the restaurant. Despite sending photos and explain to them clearly mistake they essentially told us to "buzz off." I rarely write negative reviews, as the restaurant business is very tough, but when the staff challenges the integrity of the customer even when evidence is clearly provided, then we make our own choice. Thank you for the previous orders, but we will never order from you again.

Cynthia L.

Yelp
Awesome pizza! Service is amazing! Quality and crunch in every bite of my slice. Gotta make it here more now that I'm their neighbor

Michael F.

Yelp
Very delicious honest to goodness Blue collar pizza joint! Why pay those pricey snooty places? This place is amazing and the pasta and garlic knots great as well! It's my go to! And there's parking!
google avatar

Carmela B.

Yelp
A hidden gem! Passed by and saw it on a corner. Decided to stop with the hubby and check it out. We can never pass up on a pizza spot! It was worth the tight parking squeeze and the scary public restroom. I had the pepperoni slice and the tomato basil slice. My new favorite is definitely the tomato basil. Gave me the healthy but greasy vibes I need in my life. It's all about balance right? The slices are thin and delicious. The crust was so yummy and I'm not a crust person so go figure. Definitely check this place out if you're in the mood for pizza! Oh! And the wings were good too!! Customer service was 10/10 too!
google avatar

Richard T.

Yelp
This place is so fire! The pizza is delicious, the prices are reasonable, and the people working were so kind! 10/10 spot for pizza!
google avatar

Game P.

Yelp
It's pizza and more, so far I've only tried the pizza by the slice but I can say with certainty that it is very tasty and delicious. It's New York style so it is relatively thin but it doesn't take away from the flavor. The service here is amazing and overall a very friendly environment, special shout out to Bidal, I have come here before and his service is of the highest order. Everything is very reasonably priced especially for LA I payed 3.50 for the slice and do not regret it one bit. Everyone should give it a try. Check out the menu in the picture to see the other options.

Rae T.

Yelp
Favorite local pizza spot. Always get to-go orders, but staff are super super friendly every time which really makes a difference. Cute little shop, and there's parking in back which is a huge plus. Good quality and very reasonable pricing. Always happy with the pizza. Great neighborhood staple. Definitely recommend.
google avatar

Yelp
I NEVER leave reviews but this place deserves a shoutout! Ordered a large pizza with sausage & pineapple (no judging!) and it was excellent! The crust was perfectly crispy and the quality of the cheese, dough and sausage was great! It was ready really fast, the guys working were super friendly and you can't beat the price ($21 including tax)! I'll definitely be back, so happy I live close! P.S: they also have pasta, salad and pizza by the slice! And parking!
google avatar

Yelp
Rating based on the pepperoni SLICE!!! Me and the wife and daughter popped in and dig the low key hole in the wall vibe. EXCELLENCE IN PIZZA!!! Oldies music in the background. A good time here!
google avatar

Maria A.

Yelp
Pizza slice was good crispy and satisfying! Dough was good- perfect crust and well done. Wish the tomate sauce had more of a kick to it but overall quality and price was good! Parking was available and service was quick and good.
google avatar

Cindy K.

Yelp
Wish there will be more places like this - a casual, warm and friendly corner pizza shop that's open late and tastes delicious for a reasonable place. Very yummy thin customizable New York pizza offered by slice!
google avatar

Katrina C.

Yelp
Just a great little place with a beautiful patio and very reasonably priced slices! A friend and I went here after a show at The Wiltern, and it felt like a small quiet getaway from the LA noise. Service here is also great; everyone was super friendly and so sweet! Definitely would come back here if I'm in the area craving a slice.
google avatar

Miguel M.

Yelp
Veggie pizza is fuego! The vegetables had a solid texture to it so it was not mushy at all. I will be back for the wings next. Thank you!
google avatar

Jackie P.

Yelp
By far the best pizza in LA. I've tried the all veggie (my favorite) so fresh and tasteful. My son favorite is the pepperoni , he absolutely LOVES it , it's not all greasy and doesn't taste like a cardboard box. And my nephews favorite is the cheese. I love that it's a family owed and ran by all family. #support small business.

Daniel L.

Yelp
Very fresh ingredients. Great crust! Excellent pizza! Plus parking in the back! Highly recommended!

Yelp
I enjoyed my meal here. It is a (relatively) cheap place in a run down building. The pizza was good, but not stellar. It reminded me of pizza places I went to many years ago, before we expected a lot from restaurants. The toppings and cheese were of good quality, the crust was a pre- made shell but tasty. The cut and arrangement of toppings were not thought through; the onions and peppers were not really cooked, the pepperonis were soft and not browned at all, but the crust was brown and could not have cooked much longer without burning. It all tasted good, but could be much better. What really saved the day was the outdoor dining patio. The atmosphere is intimate and perfectly lit, and feels comfortably middle class, or maybe fancy poor? I liked it and would go back. Also, the service was friendly and efficient.
google avatar

Daniel D.

Yelp
Started trying out local pizza shops and my go to is more of a big slice with a crunchy crust with some thickness to it this pizza has it all but it's lacking thickness it's a pretty skinny pizza don't get me wrong it taste good but I'll definitely have to go with pizza italia down in dowtown
google avatar

Yelp
NOPE! This is NOT it! This is among all of the other sorry a$$ piesI have tried in LA! No gooey cheese, no curled up pepperoni cups, no flavor on the sauce, or barely any sauce, or cheese! FORGOT ABOUT IT! You can buy this crap if you want to, but if you are from the tri-state area, you know bs when you see/taste it! I gave this place a try today based on the reviews. Now I am not sure where in The City these Yelpers are getting their pizza from, but the reviews are questionable. The pizza is not good enough for me to ever try it again. I called and placed a delivery order directly from the store, I spoke with Edward who appears to be a nice guy. I ordered a medium pepperoni pie with crushed garlic and spaghetti bolognese with mozzarella. I wanted lasagna bolognese, but was told they were making the sauce and it would be a few hours before it was ready, but I was hungry, so I opted for the spaghetti. I am happily leaving for The City on August 10th and I know I will get some really good pizza. Let's talk about that spaghetti bolognese. I know that pasta will soak up the sauce so I always request extra sauce. The pictures of the pasta were taken as soon a I received my food and there was barely any sauce on the pasta. I guess if I had not requested extra sauce, I would have received no sauce. You see the pictures, don't play! NO SAUCE, DRY AF! I called and spoke with Edward again, explaining that I did not get extra sauce. Nice guy that he is (sarcasm) he kept arguing with me telling me he put extra sauce. Edward STOP! You know, I know, and the pictures show that you did NOT give me extra sauce! I hung up the phone, I'm not going to argue with someone who is willing to argue with a customer. I was going to ask if I could stop by tomorrow to purchase a container of meat sauce. After hanging up, I decided I would go to Sunday Gravy in Inglewood to buy the sauce. Needless to say, I will never order from The Corner Slice again. I should have gotten in my car to drive to Firenza Pizza in DTLA, or Rosario's in Carson. I will say, the pizza that is the closest to a NY pie that I have had in LA is Firenza Pizza, and their Million Dollar Pasta is so damn delicious. If you ask for extra sauce, you get extra sauce. Also, located DTLA is Danny Boy's Famous Pizza. If you are in the area give either one of these places a try. I will say, I prefer Firenza over Danny Boy's, it has more flavor. If you know like I know, you will not f$&k with this BS! You can thank me later.
google avatar

Ryan B.

Yelp
Very disappointing pizza. I ordered a medium combo pizza. The veggies on the pizza had no char or crunch to them. They were just kind of mushy. Additionally, the cheese was not flavorful and didn't have any browning from the oven. The crust also had no crisp to it, instead just sort of flopping around as you try to pick it up. It was not the worst pizza I've ever tried, but I lost interest in eating it after just one slice.
google avatar

Elias L.

Yelp
Staff was very friendly and they have a really nice back patio so you can hang out with family or f friends.
google avatar

Jailene G.

Yelp
Fireeeeeeeee, decided to give a try cause I wanted a good ass pizza not like dominoes and let me tell you, did not disappoint
google avatar

Lauren A.

Yelp
This place is amazing!! The friendliest customer service and the best pizza in town hands down! The pizza is thin with the right amount of crunch and toppings! I don't even like crust that much, but I ate the whole thing! I had the chicken alfredo and it was amazing! So creamy and the perfect chew to the noodles! The outdoor area is so cute too! The prices are fair especially because the quality of the food is so delicious! Everyone should come here for a great pizza and even better owners!
google avatar

Rachel A.

Yelp
Ordered a large pepperoni pizza and lemon pepper wings togo. The pizza was great! It was the perfect thickness and not too doughy. The wings could've been a little more well done but the seasoning is on point! Definitely will order again to try their other items.
google avatar

Richard E.

Yelp
Really good NY style slices! Nice people too. I would have taken pictures, but I ate my slices too fast!!!

Yelp
W pizza top 5 fasho come here with your family your mom or dad or cousin you'll get good pizza

Yelp
Honestly a 10/10 place !! The pasta was great !! The wings and pizza had hit the spot !! The service was friendly and quick even with offering some suggestions!! Though the place is small the food is definitely worth it !!
