Very cute place in Hull serving high quality food in a super cozy, bright space. The vibes are so humble though, and that’s why it gets 5 stars. Some of the best tomato soup I’ve ever had!

We met some cousins for dinner to catch up and picked The Corner Stop as they were regulars, and we'd eaten here <1/yr. The service was v good, the atmosphere near the large fireplace was great, and the noise of a busy restaurant wasn't a problem at all, but enjoyable. The space could handle it, and we could easily talk amongst ourselves. The Caesar salad was a nice starter, and my wife was brought anchovies, which made her happy. Three of our group selected the swordfish while I chose the pork chop. The fish was perfectly done and moist; the pork was overdone and dry - just the way mom made it, but not the way I like it. The flavor of the chop was nice, with pieces of bacon in a light sauce, and the small bites of prepared apple were mini flavor bombs [probably the best part of the meal]: delightful.

Had a great dinner with friends, food was delicious, had the Tacos, friend had Scallops! Service was wonderful, Christine did a awesome job! Loved the place and decor was very cozy❣️

This was our first time in here and we're definitely coming back. We managed to get a high top table in the bar area on a Saturday night, which was ideal. Beer selection is solid, drinks and food were both excellent, and service was great. Parking is the only challenge, but it's worth it. We will be back.

They have a dedicated staff that are simply amazing especially those thorough dishwashers 😉 always It's Such a friendly & cozy environment to go enjoy a delicious meal or even to just unwind at the bar with a few tasty beverages from their awesome drink menu

Very upset with the experience here. Heard it was a great rooftop bar, but when my friends and I who are visiting from New York got there and provided our IDs, we were denied service because we had out-of-state IDs. I’m confused, all 200 people in that bar on a Saturday night were from Massachusetts? And anyone who is visiting Boston is not allowed to get a drink from here? It’s a tourist town. I think it was just a sorry excuse that the bartender provided. Should’ve at least scanned them, or asked for another form of ID. Just an inconvenience during our one night out on our trip.

Food was decent Service was abominable. Waitres forgot to bring out appetizer and when entree came she said raw oysters would come "later". Hostess didn't even know how to get to outside dining and had to go to the kitchen to ask. Went there via parking lot.

Sit at the bar with Jess or Joe - always a stellar experience. We just started going there about a month ago and now we are there 2+times a week Favorites- tuna tartare, dollar oysters, mom's meatballs, wings, tomato soup and flatbreads. All delish!! Fish tacos also great - solid heat on them. Drinks are great - music selection is great - but the service is top notch. We dine out several nights a week and this is one of our favorites!

I typically like this place, I've lived near by for years and the staff has usually been so kind and helpful. However the last couple times I've gone the food has not been as good and the last time the manager at the bar area yelled at us because we asked about our order which was 40 minutes late!! He was so rude and said "forget it, I'm cancelling your order." We were not impolite when asking about our food so it was so shocking that he responded to us like this. It made me sad because I always enjoyed going here previously. He needs to go, totally unprofessional and so rude. He was shorter in height, dark hair, brown eyes. Needs anger management

This place is super cute! I went for a quick dinner and enjoyed the lychee sour cocktail, tuna tartare, fish tacos, and an ice cream dessert with pecans and salted caramel. The cocktail and tuna were my favorites but nothing was bad. The atmosphere is very interesting- casual but nicely designed. There's a big bar, back patio with fire pits and some cozy seating options. I enjoyed the ambiance and food!

Great food and excellent service. Had the mussels and the lamb and all was amazing! We will be back soon!

Omg. If you're a mushroom pizza fan, this it the ultimate!! LOADED with them. Great thin crust. Perfect for two. (Or one with take home!)

Fabulous lunch! Great ambience/decor; attentive server Elizabeth & Joe the bartender/owner was very personable! Oysters very fresh & tastily served & the Maine mussels appetizer was superb! Good wine selection as well. Highly recommended!

The food and service is great, and the prices are reasonable. The biggest problem is with the hostess. We are regulars, always make an early reservation, and rave about our meals. We usually stay about an hour. When we ask for a specific table (one person in our party has mobility issues) we are met with a hostile no. We would prefer to sit at a table near the exit with enough room to rest a cane and not too close to other tables as there needs to be enough space to get in and out. I am not sure why this is a problem, often when I request a certain table, she will say, that is reserved, then it remains empty along with the other table that would have worked for us. We are shoved in a tiny cramped corner that is uncomfortable for our situation. Also, the wait servers and staff are friendly and remember us, but the hostess does not have a clue that we have been going there for years.

This place is absolutely fantastic. The service was impeccable, the design is friendly and warm even though the space is exceptionally large, the lighting and little touches are great. But that's not why you're reading this- you're reading about the food. It did NOT disappoint. Joe, the GM, recommended octopus, wings and mussels. They were all fantastic - wings were sticky and delicious without being saucy, the grilled octopus was perfect and the coconut broth was the star (ask for more bread! The broth is worth it) For mains we had a short rib with polenta and a duck breast. Both were PERFECT. Absolutely chef's kiss. I noticed a couple iffy old reviews - if you haven't eaten here in a while, it's worth revisiting. The new GM clearly knows his stuff.

My husband and I really like this place. We have been there several times and it has always been good. The drinks are quality and the drink specials creative. We have always eaten at the high tops in the bar which is a nice big open room with very high ceiling. The food is modern and I have never been disappointed. The poke bowls are excellent, the tuna tartare delicious and I have had the pork chop which was excellent too. There have been times where the food was slow in coming when it was crowded- but always worth the wait. Nice place to just have a drink too, but gets crowded on the weekends so go early or later. Recommend!

Love this restaurant. The wings are excellent and the Hippy Dippy salad is a go to for a delicious fresh salad! The bar serves fabulous, creative drinks. The couches in front of the fire make the perfect spot to catch up with friends and enjoy a drink. The owners are lovely and the service, fantastic.

Downgrade from 2.5 to a 2.0 see prior review. Flatbread ( got a margarita and a sausage flatbread) just blah it's not awful ate 1/2 but if you want a flatbread, the Scarlet Oak is better, upgrade flat, try Toaca Cafe. Continuously, the Asian Chicken wings are a much better choice at a solid 3.8 - as this time was a take out, I put some blue cheese on them when I got home; actually a pretty good add to an otherwise solid choice there. Still like the inside experience at the bar, but otherwise. I still kinda like this place, but think it's just going to be an occasional drink stop over.If your looking for another local neighborhood restaurant, ( slightly more upscale but not over the top) try Hingham Cafe.

A bit noisy on the bay side But we had a great corner table. Our waitress seemed a bit standoffish but maybe she was just shy or anxious. Food and drinks were delicious!

This was probably one of the WORST restaurants I've ever been to..dont know why people are raving about it unless they all work there...the food was horrible besides being late..we saw a couple of bartenders trying to pick up customers and the service wasn't that good either..do urself a favor and stay away from this place..the Schooners in Hull is much better and friendlier..

Food was good. Waitress was not. Smelled like a rotting carcass and old earring backings (the ladies will get it). Very rude and entitled.

Had the worst experience and officially have taken this place off my Resturant list! We have eaten many times there, usually pretty good. I get that Resturant are hurting as far as waitstaff, help, etc. but this was not a night that there was a lack of help! We made reservations, we're seated, then forgotten about for 10 minutes. We tried to get the attention of the waitresses going by, but none could see us in the corner. Just as we were about to leave, a waitress came over and admitted our waitress had forgotten us and she would put our drink order in. Another 5 -8 minutes went by. The Resturant is not really gluten sensitive....you can always tell this when they have very few items in the GF choices. The meal was terrible!! I ordered the steak as it was one of the only things available GF, and it was so chewy I could barely eat it. Just continue on down to Red Sky for a great meal!

I just had my second terrible experience of two visits. My first included an incompetent , very rude and obnoxious waiter who made many mistakes. The food came out in the wrong order and wasn't what we ordered. It took forever and was very disappointing. Our second experience was with take out. We were hoping that the first encounter was strictly the waiter's fault. It wasn't. The take out was a half an hour late and the food was ridiculously humorous. It made the decision very easy to never return again. The steak for the steak salad was $15 and was perhaps 3 oz. The marinara sauce for my son's pasta was perhaps a teaspoon of sauce. We had to open a jar of sauce and heat additional sauce to augment the serving. The kids burger for my daughter was about 2.5 oz. Tiny. Terrible place.

So wonderful to visit! Really great vibe and staff was so attentive. They have so many healthy salads in the menu and a solid kids menu.

Tried something new and will start by saying we will come back again. I had the salmon burger w sweet potato fries and it was really good. The other person in my party had the Lamb Grinder. When it came he said it didn't look like what he was expecting, but said it was one of the best things he's ever eaten. Had the roasted Brussels sprouts as a starter and it too was great. Server was ok, pleasant enough, but not engaging either.. The one main criticism we had was this. We were there during $1.00 oyster time. The menu said "at the bar". We were seated a a high top 2 feet from the bar. When asked if our seat was included, we were told no. At the bar meant AT the bar. Not 2 ft from the bar. So the person 2 feet away had the same oysters we would have had for $3.50. Didn't make sense and so didn't order the oysters. Prices were reasonable, and as I said, would come back again.

Wandered into this place after finding it here, without knowing much about it. What a great experience! Everything we had, from cocktails to our meals, was top shelf. I had the burger, which was perfectly prepared and very tasty. My wife had the Gfilled Cheese and tomato soup combination and enjoyed both thoroughly. Our waitstaff was prompt and professional. We had a high top table in the main room - bright and airy. I think I prefered that tot he other dining rooms, so if you have a choice, I'd try to state it as a preference. It's a shame we aren't in the area more often, we'd definitely make it a point to stop.

Corner Stop is a fantastic spot. The room is awesome and the bar is a great place to hang. The design is really clean and tasteful, and some cold winter nights you can score the sofas in front of the fireplace. The new outdoor space is great. Always a good beer selection with some classics that you don't always see on other restaurants' menus. Cocktails are on point, and the wine program looks really well thought out. The servers are good and have tried everything on the menu, so they can actually describe dishes really well. Really surprised that some of these reviews are less than stellar. I love the food. It's a great menu. I've tried about 75% of the items I would guess. The burgers are super good, which not everywhere else gets right. Packed bowls are delicious, the duck breast is yummy.... I think one of the thing that's special about the Corner Stop is that they do a lot of things, a nice variety of items, really well. Everything is healthy, presented beautifully and just really good. Also, the kids menu is excellent. Reasonable portions, a good selection, veggies and a little sweet. The selections are typical of a kids menu, but you can tell quality ingredients and a lot of love go into the preparation. Like you'd make for your own kids at home if you were a pro.

This is a medium burger to go. It looks raw. The food costs a lot more than it should and is not consistent. I usually love it. Sometimes they miss terribly. Also I should be more upset than I am. Great bartenders though!

Went there specifically because of the tomato soup. Unfortunately it was not how we remembered. Instead of soup, it was more like spaghetti sauce. The rest of the food was good. Just sad we went for the most delicious soup and it wasn't anymore

We hosted a baby shower here. From the very beginning they were very responsive and flexible. The function room is beautifully simple and a great space . Food, menus, drinks were all on point. The flat bread pizza is noteworthy. I highly recommend this place. The main dining room has a great bar, fireplace and great vibe.

Came back for dinner and drinks! Food was ok, wasn't bad, wasn't great either. Drinks were amazing!! And service was good. Overall I really enjoyed the ambience and the bar. Skip a meal here come to drink !!

We had our rehearsal dinner here in a private section of the restaurant and couldn't have been more thrilled with our decision! The food was delicious and the staff was incredibly attentive, helpful, and nice. They were incredibly flexible and easy to work with, we can't thank them enough for everything and making the night so special for us!

Beautiful atmosphere, yummy food ~ we loved this restaurant. My husband had a cheeseburger and fries, he thought it was delicious. The girls and I had their tomato soup with grilled cheese sandwiches... This was the best grilled cheese I've ever had! The soup had quite a heavy wine note, but the grilled cheese was delicious dunked in it. We are from California and we can't wait to come back to see our family and dine here again.

Only reason I'm giving 2 stars is for atmosphere because I love their restaurants interior design. My boyfriend and I got the stuffed clammies that were clearly frozen and heated up. We split the braised short ribs with cauliflower grits and the meat was drenched in jar sauce to cover up the dryness. Only good thing was the grits. Our waitress was beyond slow and never came to our table to offer more drinks. Another waiter had to do her job. Never apologized for being slow. When leaving she was rolling silverware laughing with hostess. If the manager was around I would 100% ask for a meal to be comped. Went head heads back and it was very good and now it's completely opposite.

Just finished an early Father's Day dinner with the whole family. Service was perfect. Food was amazing. We have a variety of food restrictions and they were very attentive and accommodating. Their beer list is a rotating selection of great local crafts and they don't mind letting you taste test the new stuff. Great selection of cocktails and margaritas. Clean, welcoming, and professional. I'd definitely go back.

This restaurant continues to disappoint in many ways. Today the served my draft beer in an liquor glass. I asked why and was told the owner wanted it done that way. Second beer was in a proper pint. Our food was bland and in the case of the fish sandwich dry with a burned bun. Who lets this out of the kitchen? As locals we will probably return but we are quickly running out of reasons to eat and drink here.

Our family loves the Corner Stop! The hippy dippy salad with shrimp is delicious! The empanada with the braised short rib is fabulous and the bolognese and flatbreads are great too! My husband loves the curried cauliflower and pan roasted salmon. Hands down the best cocktails in town! The service is great and Casey the manager is so helpful and friendly. This place is fantastic! The outdoor patio is lovely too! Highly recommend.

We went to Corner Stop last night on a whim. Thursday night crowd meant the place was almost full but we got seated in less then five minutes. Our waitress was great, and she juggled a "high maintenance" table seated behind us, she never lost us in the effort to make everyone happy. She checked just enough without being overbearring. I got the fisherman's stew which was amazing. My wife got the hippy dippy, salad and tomato soup. Everything came out just like it should. Hats off to the Corner Stop staff for a great night.

Love this place. The service is off the charts. Great beer menu. Owners care about your experience. Outdoor seating. The food is fresh A must stop.

This place is fantastic! The new outdoor patio is really lovely. Staff are warm, attentive, and so good at what they do. Lamb Meatball flatbread is incredible. They have ordering online too! Highly recommend.

We visited as a group of three on Tuesday, and we fairly disappointed with the menu (or lack thereof). The waitress was very friendly, but started by sharing all the menu items that were unavailable that evening (at least 5 items were changed or had been removed from the menu). The bar area tables filled up quickly, and the waitress was working alone and unable to give any table due attention. When the food finally came out, the sausage on the pizza was dry and old, and the macaroni and cheese would have been better if replaced by Kraft. The appetizer wings were tasty, though. The cocktails are always creative and delicious, but there are plenty of south shore spots with good drinks and an equally complimentary menu.

I worked for this place for about a year, and I felt like a part of the family. My boyfriend and I went out to dinner tonight 7-24-20 and I was so excited to order dinner! There food here is hands down my favorite! If I could order the entire menu and bring it home I would. Our server/bar tender JESS is amazing, and so sweet. Thank you for an awesome experience!!! The new outside seating is beautiful and they added these really cool shells to the flooring! Thank you for always being and excellent experience- employee, or guest.

This is a great place (tasty food, good wines and mixed drinks, atmosphere, decor) .... BUT it is also a disappointing place (A "Russian roulette" of food where crispy fries on one night are suddenly soggy and floppy the next, perfectly seasoned and cooked meat one night can be over/under cooked on another visit, a sudden heavy hand with salt or over cooked fish pops up after many perfect meals, etc). It is the inconsistency of food (staff and owners are great- always) that ultimately turned this neighborhood favorite for our family into a seldom consideration. Basically, we just can't trust it anymore. Anyway, we've had some great meals and fun times at the Corner Stop. Special occasions were made better .... definitely give them a try. Just try not to fall in love with them, they will eventually break your heart.

Let me start off by saying that I love this place and it was my first time here tonight and I'm so glad that my wife and I found this place because we will be returning here often. That being said I shall proceed with some of my basic point guideline reviews Parking: Ample free parking no issues Decor / ambience: Beautiful modern cozy high ceilings. Lots of Birchwood gives a nice organic feel Greeting: Prompt warm and inviting. Very happy to see us as if we were regulars even though it was our first time there Menu mix: Very creative, strong culinary talents and well thought out dishes. This is fine inner-city dining without having to travel to the city and pay a fortune for parking Does the water taste of bleach? Unfortunately this is one of my criteria points. And so many restaurants either fine dining or common dining you find this when you get regular water service. I'm a common guy so when I have water before a meal I like it right out of the pipe. I very rarely opt for the bottled water or sparkling that is sometimes offered. The water here did taste of bleach, thus the rinse cycle on the dish machine must be adjusted. Drink pour: Very nice pour here. My wife and I had a few glasses of wine and I was very happy with the generous pour. The prices were extremely reasonable too. Nothing I hate more than a skimpy pour glass of wine especially when you're paying so much for per glass Food quality: Fantastic top-notch, this is the stuff you going to find in the big city without having to travel there. This is a true local gem for foodies and people who simply like great food. Very nice presentation too Service: The service was spectacular we will well attended to and felt very comfortable with our server Karen Value: Fantastic value for the food quality level. Two appetizers, a few cocktails and two pricey entrées was 125 which included our gratuity Would I return? Absolutely !!!!! Comments / tips: If you are just a party of two ask for the corner table that is in view of the fireplace in the tavern. In my opinion it's the coziest table when taking your honey out. I did walk the rest of the dining area and you would be happy pretty much anywhere you sit. I just like the idea of seeing flickering flames when I'm eating. It gives an extra five point advantage on food service and Ambience. Bar seating looks very inviting as well. It's a beautiful wraparound bar that's in the high ceiling section of the building, the fireplace is in full view towards the entrance end. There are also couches near the fireplace if you want to sit and have some cocktails. Just ate there again on 1/17/15. great meal! however the water still taste of bleach. I hope this gets addressed because its the only bad point for me.

Would have been zero stars if possible. This place is horrible. I came the opening week and had a clam pizza that was raw. Like completely raw. Finally decided to come back tonight and it's TERRIBLE. Crab cake is inedible. I literally spit the one and only bite I took into my napkin. The pizza tastes like the gas from the grill. Waitress is really nice but this place is horrible.

Great local establishment with a friendly front end staff. Solid American fair with a culinary twist that will leave you craving more. Great bar with a few TVs and a fantastic craft beer selection with a rotating tap of all the top pours out there. I had the lamb burger and I would definitely try it again.. probably very soon.

Hidden Gem on the South Shore!!! Just hosted my daughter's baby shower at The Corner Stop for 25. The food was delicious, people are still raving about it, service - exceptional (thank you Liz) and atmosphere - the private room was so bright and cheery, we did a Winter Wonderland theme and the room was a perfect fit (see pics). If you are looking to host a shower, engagement party, family get together or office party look no further, you will not be disappointed! Will be going back for lunch or dinner for sure and rumor has it they maybe adding a brunch after the 1st of the year, I hope so!

Sooooooooooooo great!!!!!!! Driven past 1000 times, finally stopped in and we all loved it. High end food, cooked perfectly. Great restaurant and bar, can't wait to go back ASAP. The tuna tartare was perfect, blacker swordfish cooked to perfection and salad was fresh and crisp. Local hints: they sell fireworks in the basement, just slip a $20 to the host, wink and ask for cold tea. You will be escorted to sales area where you can purchase a large selection of class b grade fireworks! Enjoy

Excellent food, excellent service! Apparently they were short staffed when we visited with only 2 servers on. We never would have known: they treated us like royalty! The oysters were sweet! The street tacos had just the right amount of heat and the yellowfin tuna was perfectly seared but rare on the inside. Thank you, thank you! We will be back!

Love the ambience, the appetizers, and the beer and drink selection! I come here a lot for drinks and apps, but last year I came for Easter brunch with my mom and husband and we all loved it! The owner is very nice. I organize a lot of work events here and he is super flexible and responsive. My favorite spots to sit are by the bar or the fireplace. It's such a cozy place to come and meet up with friends after work.

Good place for burger and a beer but it's kind of annoying when the place is empty and the manager is slightly annoyed you don't have a reservation.

When we moved to the south shore area, we were looking for a nice restaurant with a good bar, friendly staff and great food. The Corner Stop is the place! It has become our local "Cheers". We usually sit at the bar and enjoy good conversation with the friendly bartenders, drink their yummy drinks, and have some of their wonderful food. The menu seems to change seasonally but our favorites are the salmon and the Bolognese. The Hippy Dippy salad is good too if you're feeling healthy.
