The food was great and all reasonably priced. I loved the history and antique feel of the interior. I was over the moon that they offered vegetarian substitutions for almost everything in their menu. Our server who was also working behind the bar was top notch!! 10/10

There’s always something happening, whether it’s a fundraiser, karaoke night, or just a night of great laughs and meaningful conversations. You’ll leave satisfied and already planning your next visit. The Corner Tavern is like the 80s sitcom Cheers—a true community staple. Try the Chocolate Cookie Dough Whiskey Martini, the owner created for me. It's my favorite, and hopefully yours too. 😋

Had an amazingly calm but fun night. Excellent staff. Great food. Great bourbon. Amazing ambiance. Definitely recommended and will be making this our hometown tavern.

I cannot believe the prices here! I got a fantastic burger on a fresh roll, stacked with bacon and onion rings for about what it would cost for a meal at McDonald’s. The service was good and the atmosphere is extremely laid back & comfortable with an impressive draft list. Definitely stop in!

Been here a few times I just wanted to say thank you to the gentleman bar tender.. My friend insisted on trying to get me to drink more then I should & the bar tender recognized I had enough for the moment.. Lets just say thank god I wasn't driving.. & Had my friend had his way, I wouldn't have been walking either...

Tyler makes the best espresso martini I have ever had since moving to Naugatuck in 2006 from New Haven. He is also an extremely friendly and sociable. The pub has traditional pub food which is great if you are looking for casual shareable food. Overall atmosphere is everyone is friendly and down to earth, trivia night on Tuesday is a lot of fun. The bathrooms are historical, I mean that quite literally, however sadly the women’s bathroom is basic and the men’s bathroom is all marble with historic ornaments.

I was traveling through and love to sing karaoke. I found this place on Google and it was a blast. Drinks and service were great, the DJ had a great sound system and the place had a ton of singers. I would definitely go here again if I'm traveling through.

We love this place! Amazing atmosphere, drink selection and food is always delicious! We love Tuesday night trivia and Saturday night karaoke. If you're looking for a friendly well managed clean bar then this is the place for you! The drink selection is great! Some of my favourite beers and ciders have come out of this bar! They have a juke box and TVs so you will never miss a game and sometimes live music which is always a treat! You will love it here and oh try the cheese curds!!

This is another place that I visit almost every Friday afternoon yet never check in. I just feel happy when I walk in the door here. It's nostalgia combined with the company I am meeting- it just makes me smile. Their pricing is very reasonable, their selection has something for everyone, and their food is drool-worthy - PLEASE sample one of their many delicious homemade sauces- the favorites still remain the honey mustard and chipotle. Their burgers are huge and delicious. I love supporting this small business.

I've been coming to Corner Tavern for years and always have a great time! Everything from the service, food/drinks and music/entertainment is on point. The atmosphere is awesome here. The interior is original construction and love that it's very different from other pubs. I just get a cozy feeling being inside. I Love when they do karaoke night. They have a great selection of beer and hard alcohol. A friend I was with was surprised they had one the other night that she never finds at other bars. It's a nice mix of patrons, all ages and types. I always feel very comfortable here and have an awesome night. They also decorate for holidays which is always fun when businesses get in the spirit! I was there just a few days ago and had mozzarella sticks, wings and tenders. They were so good, I've been thinking about them since then. I think I'm going to get myself some more today! :) This place is one of those where you could easily drive by every day, not knowing what you're missing. Give it a shot, you'll be pleasantly surprised you did. I'm so happy we discovered this little gem years ago and have been able to enjoy it ever since.

Corner Tavern literally has the best beer selection around! My two all time favorite beers came from them being on tap at the Corner! Great selection of German and Belgian beers. The owner and all bartenders are super cool! For food, no joke, gotta get their chicken tenders! Only place I get them. Always perfect. Definitely a great place to check out if in the area!

What a fun tavern in the middle of nowhere kind of. I came here with some friends on their karaoke night a few weeks back because they wanted to sing and it's a fun atmosphere inside. They have reasonable prices and I'll def have to try the food the next time we go back. Def love the vibe.

Quite frankly the best bar in the Valley. Go for trivia on Tuesday nights! Or any night! They have a huge rotating draft beer selection with lots of variety. There's always sours and ciders on tap which is what draws me in.

The chili and cheese nachos were absolutely amazing. Tons of chili and cheese, fresh jalapeños, onion, and tomato, topped with an amazing chili and fresh cheese. Really a winner! Service was responsive and friendly and drinks were done well and decent amount of alcohol. Wings were decent but not great. Overall very good experience.

On a quiet cold night my fiancé and I were looking for a place to warm up and eat and this place came up. So we gave it a shot, the food was really delicious and filling! Drinks were great! At a great price too! We really enjoyed our night here and left with very full bellies. Honestly the place is very quaint and spacious! Great vibes!

Female bartender (not resting bitch face owner) was cool, however owner and balding bartender suggested I move from a parking spot in front of bar....there is an event across the side street, so parking was not closely available. patrons were like " nobody cares if you are close to curb" Buttttt apparently owner has a hard on for parking violators...this is the vibe I get. I moved my vehicle and choked down a beer that was in the line way too long. So of you are still reading this review, there are lots of better places to spend your money. Again my female bartender was very cool.

The perfect tavern. Service was fast and friendly. My girlfriend and stopped for a drink and decided to stay for a meal, as there was an Irish folk band playing and the atmosphere was laid back. I ordered a flight of beer and and she, a cocktail. We had appetizers and enjoyed the band. The food was served quickly and it was hot. Nice quiet crowd, a place you can actually relax.

"16 Beers on Tap" The Corner Tavern, originally known as The Old Corner Cafe is a landmark in Naugatuck. I believe it was established well over 60 years ago. A friend of ours happened to be there and asked us to come meet her and a friend. Right before she called, we were trying to decide what we wanted to do so we figured why not. This is a cool neighborhood bar that looks like it hasn't changed since it was built a long time ago. But everything is well kept and clean. I was surprised by the awesome list of 16 beers on tap. I had an Ommegang Saison Rose and my wife had a Yuengling. They have a nice variety of typical bar food on the menu and the owner does a great job preparing everything. I ordered a dozen hot wings and my wife ordered the black bean burger with onion rings. Those were the best wings I've had in a while. Served with carrots and celery and a choice of ranch or blue cheese dressing. The buffalo sauce was very tasty. It wasn't crazy spicy but just enough. The black bean burger had excellent flavor. But my wife and I both felt that the texture was mushy. The onion rings were great. Good food, good beer, and close to home The Corner Tavern is a winner.

I ordered wings but no spice dry rubbing as they have all wet sauce on them. I am disappointed.

The atmosphere & great beer selection keep this place going no doubt. I have been here many times for tap take overs, live music & beer events. I will not eat here again. Friday was the last time for me. How can you screw up a grilled cheese with bacon and tomato? By serving it barely toasted with the cheese unmelted inside and grill top remnants stuck in the bread that's how. Yuck! !

Stopped in just for a drink with the wife. Positives: the interior has been cleaned up nicely, server (Courtney) was very friendly and personable, great line up of craft brews and reasonably priced. Negatives: They need to do something with the ventilation it smelled very badly of grease it was really bad, I noticed before I even took a sip my pint glass had a crack along the rim and I brought it to our servers attention and she very apologetically took my beer away and proceeded to pour it out of the broken glass right into another pint glass instead of pouring a fresh one. I would have given 3.5 stars but not an option.

Great food, lovely owner, & helpful staff. My favorite Naugatuck place to go for food and drinks! Get the sweet potato fries! Also many rotating taps and excellent prices on unique beers.

This place has more "character" than Mickey the Mouse, With a craft beer selection that will bring down the house. A welcoming aura and a great mixed crowd, From seasoned beer drinkers to kids getting plowed. New ownership, but the same building that my 60-year old mother used to go to drink when she was 18. The owners have done a great job of maintaining the classic, classy interior from the original construction: textured ceilings and walls, a big oak bar, and huge vintage urinals in the men's bathroom! I was pretty excited to pee when the time came. The beer selection is the best you are going to find in Naugatuck. Stouts, IPAs, Tripels, Ciders ($5-7)...They also have Bud Light ($3.25), but if you drink that stuff you are dead to me. Beer selection included some local Connecticut breweries including my favorite, New England Brewing Co. Sea Hag and 668: Neighbor of the Beast. Do it. A great place to try a new brew (that rhymed, tee-hee) This is a little simple bar that is a great place to catch a game. There were people here ranging from 21 years old to probably 70, so bring the whole family. My new go-to joint in Naugy.

Are you looking for a great local bar with an EXCELLENT selection of craft beers and tasty bar food?!?! Well, come on down to the Corner Tavern. As soon as a keg is tapped a new beer that you may not be familiar with is up on the board and ready for you to try! I've had several different brews since they opened last year, and there is always something for a beer person to enjoy ie. IPAs, lagers, stouts, etc. My fav recently is the Breckinridge Oatmeal Stout. If you're looking for mixed drinks, or wine..well, of course they have that too! My favorite dishes are the nachos that are a meal in itself, and their salads. They make their own homemade dressing and it really compliments their food. Tara and Ryan have done an excellent job with this place and this is by far my favorite place to go to just hang, relax, enjoy a good brew and spend time with friends. Its a great atmosphere that is always welcoming!

One of the best places in the area to find amazing and unique craft beers, and they aren't too expensive. When I come here, I try as many as I can without getting too soused. They offer pub food selections as well as salads, wraps, and kids meals. The food is excellent, priced well, and the portions are large. A great place to come with friends for a night out.

Stopped for lunch. The corner entrance, woodwork, tile floor and high ceiling welcome you. Great atmosphere and friendly service are also a plus. The beer selection is great. Many local brews, reasonably priced. The menu is limited and the food is prepared fresh. My only complaint is the limited menu. I would give 5 stars if the food was better.

All i have to say is you wonder why your place is dead with only one other customer during lunch on a Saturday.....staff has an attitude. You all can make the choice yourselves. Try and support local businesses but you wonder why most people would rather go elsewhere. Only reason you got two stars is because I liked the food.

I've been here a few times with friends. Last night my wife and I went to a wake down the street and it was late when we got out. She was in the mood for a burger and a drink so I said let's go to the Corner Tavern. I think she was kind of hesitant about eating "bar" food but I reassured her it was good, and considering where we were leaving from we just wanted somewhere comforting. She ordered the "Rubber Ave" burger, and I got wings as an appetizer and a buffalo chicken wrap with onion rings. We also got drinks from the bar. All the food was excellent, my wife finished everything, my wings were crispy. The only problem was that my wings came out WITH my dinner! An appetizer is supposed to come out before my dinner. The waitress who was older, was very slow. She didn't give us silverware, and was inattentive. There was a small crowd, and the drinking folks hadn't come in yet. Should probably hire another person on Friday nights if she's working. 2 for service 4 for food & choice of

- Beer selection is one of the top in the valley - Atmosphere is above average - Service is average, very respectful - Where this falls a 2 star is the ownership, particularly the male co-owner. I am not sure what his problem is but his attitude is terrible, noticeable every occasion. Guy takes offense when asked if he can take an order. Apparently he does not like money being sent in his direction. With all the bar/restaurants popping up around I would advise spending your money in an establishment that provides respect to those who pay money to be there! Shame on you!

Love this bar. We go in maybe once or twice a week to grab a beer/app on Tuesday nights for trivia (come down at 8 p.m. and try to beat our team), or grab a quick bite for for dinner. Also have karaoke on Wed/Sat and, on occasion, live music on Fridays. The inside is mostly original dating back til god knows when. Great atmosphere with a huge crowd of regulars. The food is largely your normal pub fare, like sandwiches and burgers, but my favorite is actually a salad. I get the harvest salad about 50% of the time. Fresh romaine with grilled chicken, and LOADED with walnuts, bleu cheese, craisins, and sliced apple. It comes with some pita wedges and balsamic vinaigrette on the side. Really really good, and light to save some room for the real reason you come here - the beer. You will be hard pressed to find such a great rotating selection at such reasonable prices. The Corner has approximately 30-35 beers on tap at all times. Some are mainstays (NEBCO Sea-Hag, Two Roads Hef, Guinness, and a couple others) but about 80% of the beer menu is constantly changing. At no point in time will you find less than a third of the beer menu from local brewers (not just two roads and NEBCO, but newer places like Relic, Firefly, Beer'd and so on). They also get tougher-to-find brews like Sip, Goose Island Bourbon, and Fuzzy more often than other bars in the area. I love that I can go in there weekly and try something I have never had before. I have seen some comments about cold service, but I can say this has never happened to me or anyone I know. For the real craft beer lover, this place is for you.

This place is newly opened after being renovated and it's now one of the best places in the area. Competing with Pies & Pints for largest number of taps, these guys hold their owns and I think their food is much better than Pies & Pints. They have a big board of beers that's always changing. The prices are excellent, usually only $5 for an obscure beer is unheard of, yet these guys do it. Sometimes a beer is $6 but still, not a huge deal. This place is a beer aficionado's paradise. They also do food here and I've had a burger which was great and I loved that it was on ciabatta bread. The wings and fries here are also really good. Ryan and Tara are the owners and they've done an excellent job, the place is beautiful and the beer selection is outstanding.

The 2 stars are pretty much for the beers because the food is basic but mostly my problem is with the staff. I'm gonna go ahead and assume that groups of people at are standard at bars and especially at a bar that serves food. There were a good 10 of us and I actually arrived after most of them were already seated and had ordered. I guess I should've specified when I placed my order but I didn't think it would be an issue. At the end of our time there, I approached the bar alone to ask the bartender if she could separate my items onto my own check so I could pay outside the group. "You can give me a dollar amount" she says. I look at her puzzled... "A dollar amount?" I asked. She's like "Yeah, a dollar amount and I'll just take it off the total". Still confused I said well I'll go grab the bill and do the math I guess and she's like (all snotty) well I haven't brought it over yet and like rolls her eyes and walks away with frustration. She hands me the bill which is not even broken down by particular beers. It says $6 beer, $5 beer etc etc which is whatever. So I added up my shit and while I'm still irritated that she couldn't just separate what I had, I gave her exactly what it was for my food and beers plus tax and didn't tip her. Not really my style but ya wanna be a bitch go ahead then lady. Guess you don't like money. If you would've given me my own check I would've tipped accordingly but you wanna be lazy so now you can suck it. ‍ Anyways, come here for the beer and a quick bite but make sure you keep it simple or else you'll be treated like you're a moron for asking for things that are standard practice at other bars/restaurants.

Decent beers but forget the food...Waited over (40) f-ing minutes for a simple burger/fry's. Never did arrive. Chubby fuzzyed haired bartender (owner) made up some lame excuse about no room on the grill at the moment. Hilarious to say the least. Told her she needs to replace the cook ......She defended the loser cook. Walked out and paid for 2 beers (no Tip)....Went to Nardelle's around the corner and was served in under (30) seconds....EASY ... Better get it together! Its 2015.

I've been coming to the tavern for years now... Tara and the red headed bartender are always so great to me and to my friends. The food is good and the bar is always fully stocked with at least one hard cider on tap at all times for the non-beer drinkers among us so there really is something for everyone here.

First time *trying* to order at this place for a pickup order. I give my order of my two entrees which were the same exact thing and the person answering the phone interrupts me and rudely says "how big is this order?" And I asked, "why you can't take the order?" He replies, " I need to know how big it is because I'm the only one here!" I told him never mind and hung up on him. What if I wanted to order 5 things...10 things..., are you not going to take the order?! People never cease to blow my mind with how rude and ignorant they can be. Plain and simple that guy was a dick.

Great beer selection and that's about the only positive. The food is fresh....out of the freezer. And god forbid you want a second drink, you practically have to beg for them to take your money. If in fact they do begin to tend to customers at a faster rate, I recommend they use that extra profit for some customer service classes. I've gotten better service from call centers in India. To 66 Church I gooooo!!!!

I came here on a slow Saturday afternoon. Corner Tavern is situated on a corner, in a humble neighborhood right off Rte. 8. The craft beer selection is great and the prices are too. They seem to branch out a little bit with their spirit offerings, for those not into beer. The food menu is simple; that of a typical bar/tavern. My friend and I each ordered different burgers and both thought they were great, and again, fairly priced. The bartender and other staff working were friendly. If you look at my profile, I don't give out many 5-star reviews. Sure there are bars and restaurants that have terrific food, excellent service, and amazing decor - but you probably are paying a lot of money for those things. Here, you don't get skimped on your food or drink (that are both more than satisfactory) AND you don't pay too much for it.

Owners don't care about service or their wait staff. Beer selection is suffering because owner has problems retaining relationships with his distributors and wait staff (or lack there of) suffers due to terrible management. Food is good (great wings, but prepare to wait 45+ minutes). One bartender does wait service and drink service. Kitchen works at glacial pace. Owners are nowhere to be seen. Dine and drink elsewhere. Unless you have plenty of time to hang out and wait.

I go here often and really like the place and food Josette is awesome but there is a waitress with red hair and glasses that is the rudest nastiest person that I ever had waited on me tonight I walked out because of her being a bitch and rolling her eyes at us she should be fired very poor representation of your business

Stopped in for a light lunch and Pilsner and I have to say Cynthia was one of the most helpful bartenders I've ever experienced. I enjoyed the authentic pub atmosphere as well. Will be back!

Absolutely horrible service. Rude staff, smelly, dirty establishment. They might not serve you at all, go somewhere else at all costs. Do not go to this tavern. There are better places not far from there. Never going there again.

If I lived closer to Naugatuck, this would be my regular come-and-hang-out tavern. It's got an amazing beer list, solid pub food offerings, a welcoming interior, and just a warm feel to the place. I really like it. I do have something of a bias toward the Corner Tavern: one owner is married to a friend of mine, and the other owner is married to another friend of mine. So when I first came to visit, I really wanted to like the place. Have I mentioned that I do? The draft list is long, varied, and regularly revised. I came opening night, and my jaw immediately dropped on reading the board. The biggest challenge for me each time, in fact, has been choosing among the options, which force me to ask, "What am I in the mood for tonight, really?" The food is quite good. I thoroughly enjoyed my burger, and the hummus plate is well stocked with plenty of tahini goodness and dipping breads and veggies. I've been on a quest for a come-and-hang-out tavern. If I lived in Naugatuck, that quest would be over. Maybe I should move...

Went here for the first time this weekend. There was a great atmosphere and very friendly staff. Food was tasty, I want to try every burger on the menu. Here is what we had: App - House-Made hummus and sweet potato fries. Dinner was salads and wraps (but like i said i need to try the burgs). Now the beer list: WOW; Craft Beer for everyone. The night I went had there were two ciders, porters, stouts, local NEB, IPAs, double IPA, seasonals and standards like Rogue Dead Guy. Finally, was very happy with the refresh and renovation that they did to the whole place.

Owner was very rude! Snapped at me when I was ordering my food and said No changes, you can't add things to your burger! WTF aren't you supposed to cater to your customers? Will never go back now! Worst service ever!

A great place for a large selection of reasonably priced craft beers. A basic bar menu. Short and sweet. Works for me. Parking can be an issue depending on when you like to enjoy your nice cold beer. I tend to keep to weekdays right after work (5-7) or weekends during the afternoon. The staff has always been pleasant based on my experiences. Definitely a must if you like a rotating assortment of craft beers from around the country. P.S. You have to check out the urinals. It's like peeing into a cathedral.

Reading the other reviews about the way the owners treat patrons, let me add my comments. I've regularly visited over the years and Saturday night was the last time for me. Had a party of 4 with 2 more guests coming later. There were 2 tables together near the bathroom (where I didn't feel like sitting), so I started to move 2 tables together in the middle of the room and one of the owners (Tara, who was sitting at the bar) started flipping out, using profanity about "Why are you moving the f*****g tables???" It's not the 1st time she's been rude to me and other customers, but it will be the last! They do have a decent beer selection but I don't go to an establishment to get yelled at. There were maybe 10 people in the place, not like seating was an issue. Food is average at best, service is terrible. Keep acting like this to customers... I know of others who refuse to go back.

Absolute best bar in all of CT. The owners are super nice and wonderful people. Prices are extremely fair and the food is delicious with great prices and big portions. Karaoke night is always fun and the atmosphere is awesome. 100% recommend. Get to know them and they'll treat you like family.

Great place in Naugatuck for a beer and food. Probably the best. The staff is wonderful here at this place and is always friendly no matter what time of the day you cruise down. There are a bunch of TVs behind the bar. The bar happens to be the star of the show! With a TON of beers on tap it's always exciting to see what the new rotating taps are when you visit. There's a big chalkboard in the back that has all of the beers on tap. There's something for everyone from light lagers to dark milk stouts. Some favorite dishes I've had here is the Tavern Burger. It's a mammoth of a sandwich and has wonderful flavor. The nachos are also incredible. Get them with buffalo chicken on them and you'll never want to each nachos from anywhere else again! Definitely a go-to place if you're in the area!

Extensive and ever changing beer selection, great food and a welcoming atmosphere. It's pretty cool to see photos of historical Naugatuck displayed on the walls, and be sure to catch the homage to the former Old Corner Cafe on the wall near the ladies room. Definitely a place to check out if you haven't yet. And the Tuesday night bartender is pretty cool. :)

Great food and any style beer on tap you can imagine (27 beers on tap). Friendly staff will make you feel like at home. Tavern is not a sports bar but has several high def tv's to watch your favorite game.
