A chef‑driven, wood‑fired pizza shop with a playful space‑age vibe. The daily “Trust Us” pie and duck‑fat fries made it a local essential. Highlighted by regional editors and noted for creative toppings and technique.

My friend found out about this piece via an Instagram post on things to do in Lansing Michigan. The pizza looked eh in the video but I said, ok. Let's try it. Glad we did. The vibe, energy, and employees were all great. For the pizza we let the chef pick, just said vegetarian. It was definitely top notch! We both got salads and they were good. Also tried the fries in duck fat. We didn't notice anything special about the taste like we thought there would be being cooked in something unique. The popcorn reminded me of what I poop at home. I use salt, pepper, and garlic. They added truffle oil. It was tasty. Took the left over popcorn home (we had good amount of food) and ate it on the way back to Ohio. So there are at least 2 rooms and a large back patio. We sat in the room by the kitchen because the other room was pretty full and loud. This filled up to the longer we were there. There was a pinball game and some old video game in the center of the room. The TV was playing old MTV music videos. Big mural on the wall next to our table. The kitchen is open. Was fun watching the people in the kitchen working away doing their things as we waited for our food. Good company. Good food. Good experience.

Great place for casual get together. The food and drinks are fantastic. Service was friendly and attentive. We ate indoors but the patio was very busy and popular.

We came here within a week of seeing this place on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives. The pictures of this place inside and out make it look so much better than it is. It is run down both inside and out. However, the food is amazing and most everything is from scratch. We had the SpaceBall pizza, garlic bread with balsamic drizzle, a cherry coke (alcoholic), and a beer. The food and service were awesome. Having said that, it wouldn't be my first choice the next time we discuss getting food. The location in town is not great. It is a strange thing to say the food was great but wouldn't choose it over something else. I greatly appreciate the time in preparation for the ingredients. I loved the fact there is a lot of care for the quality of food. It was nice to be able to pay our bill immediately on out phones.

Google
Best pizza I've ever eaten! I tried the "Trust Us" - I'm not totally sure what it was, but I don't care because it was SO GOOD! Also enjoyed the "Trust Us" drink - probably my favorite drink I've had, though I couldn't drink much of it due to a high alcohol content. Only downside - no gluten free options, which would've been nice for my wife.

Google
The pizza was really good, but I got a salad and I am not sure if it was just a bad day but the chicken was as hard as concrete because it's been cooked over and over again plus the salad was a side salad and not a full salad. I definitely won't order a salad from here anymore.

Google
So I’ve been hearing for years now about Cosmos and I finally decided to try it. I was not disappointed. The pizza is out of this world and to be frank with you, it’s my personal favorite spot for pizza. It’s always got a crisp and cooked to perfection with and pizza you get. Nachos were amazing, so the wings. If you have not been here please do yourself a favor and check them out.

Google
I’m always on the search for the best pizza while traveling and this place did not disappoint. The corn fritters were amazing!!! We got the Marg pizza and the meat lovers. Definitely high on my pizza ranking list!! Make sure to get some popcorn to go!

Steve Lowenstein

Google
Pineapple prosciutto habanero pizza is the best I’ve ever had. I get it every other months. Kaela is the best bartender/waitress and bar friend!

Yelp
Stopped here as this was on our Triole D tour! Usually there is a poster or printed art depicting Guy Fieri but this place has signed pizza boards which is very unique. We got a pizza naturally. It wasn't my fave but it was my hubbys pick and he loved it so I'm good with that.

Yelp
A unique pizza spot by Old Town in Lansing!! This was my first visit and I was pleasantly surprised. We got a prosciutto/pineapple pizza and a surprise veggie pizza. Both were great! The popcorn and corn fritters were my favorite. I would definitely give this spot another try next time I'm in the area!
google avatar

Yelp
We always love the unique pizza combinations on the menu. I love a "regular" pizza as much as the next person, but their unique combinations have pushed my personal "pizza envelope" and are always delish!

Duane G.

Yelp
Very cool pizza / tiny bar spot. I got the Pineapple Prosciutto pizza. VERY good. The big winner was the Truffle Butter Salt & Pepper Popcorn...it was OUTSTANDING!!! Wait staff was hustling the meet everyone's needs and helpful with my questions. Highly Recommend!
google avatar

Yelp
Everything was great! the service, the vibes and the popcorn from the vintage machine. Obviously the pizza was the star of the show. I haven't been here in a minute and forgot how amazing their pies are. Great place to stop by if you're visiting your MSU. I also got a drink but it wasn't anything special. It tasted like a lemon drop shot but drink form. It got the job done.

Yelp
First time here and I'd definitely go back! The nachos and corn fritters were fav! The chicken pesto pizza was good, adding some seasoning somewhere in there (salt/oregano/garlic) would next level it. The Marge was okay, not one I'd order again but was worth the try. The donuts for dessert, chefs kiss!

Yelp
Staff was very pleasant was greeted and seated as soon as I walked in. Front and back seating area with a bar. Variety of beer and cocktails. Cocktail I had was gin, pims liquor, bitters, lemon juice and seltzer. Very refreshing and affordable. Pizza was hot, fresh and delicious! Main part of pizza was thin with a tasty thick crust. I got the marge pizza, but which had a perfect balance of ingredients between tomatoes, basil, mozzarella and a balsamic drizzle. Highly recommend this place for the ambience, affordability and the high-quality food and drink they have the offer!

Laura R.

Yelp
Service fantastic, very fun vibe, far from good pizza. Cheap ingredients; I've had better cheese and sausage on frozen pizzas from the grocery store. Disappointing. Maybe their other menu items are good.

Yelp
I like food. My weight and my doctor can both attest to the truthfulness of that statement. That being said, I always feel like I'm going to love whatever comes out of a restaurant that serves things I would eat as my only meal for the rest of my life, as well as food I wouldn't eat it if it had the antidote in it. Now with that opening line out of the way, let's get started. The atmosphere rings as basic hole-in-the-wall pizzeria. Nothing special, noting stands out. Comes with seating, four walls, and a roof. I'm a simple man. You don't need to have fancy decoration or eclectic music playing in the background. I'm here to eat, not have a spiritual cleanse. 10/10. For an appetizer, we ordered the Duck Fat Fries, White & Cheesy & Chorizo. The selling point for me was the fries and the cheese and the chorizo. They could be cooked in duck fat, pig fat, or Fats Domino, and I would eat them all the same. The fries were cooked in such a way that they held up to the cheese sauce, which was great because nobody wants immediate soggy fries. The serving of White & Cheesy was plenty enough to feel like I was eating fry soup. Not terrible, but I'm learning that me personally would rather have just enough sauce to cover whatever it is I'm covering, without going overboard. The chorizo was ok. A little dark and a little little. I'm also finding out that the best chorizo is moist and salty. This was really neither. 8.5/10 Now here's the skinny on my pizza. I'm picky and basic af. I'm a straight pepperoni, cheese, sausage guy. Doesn't matter if it's homemade, store bought, take out, or found in the street. However, I will try different pizza but typically only in a buffet style setting. My reasoning is as follows: I don't want to ruin my meal by getting a weird pizza I may not like. Now, because of that, we did skip over the Trust Us pizza, where they basically make you something they think you'll like. There was a little too much chance to be had with that. Instead, we settled on The #9 in the World. It had: boursin cheese, red sauce, andouille sausage, roasted red pepper, tasso ham, and cajun dust. The amount of toppings I liked overruled the amount of toppings I didn't like, so this was a safe bet. Super glad we ran with it. Perfect sized little slices, allowing the toppings to fit and spread out evenly, giving you all the flavor in every bite. This was a pizza I would certainly do all over again. 10/10.

Yelp
I guess the main dining area was closed? I was told I had to eat with my daughter in the adjacent bar area. Anyway, the server was nice, friendly and attentive. The pizza was cooked/prepared nicely. I got the "Trust Us", which I thought was a great idea, and it touted to "knock my socks off". For $20 it knocked a dent in my wallet but I left with socks in tact.

Yelp
Kinda expensive and seemingly for too good of clientele compared to the neighborhood its location is located in Good pizza regardless, just not my kinda place. Too hipster for their own good

Yelp
Just go! I'm so mad I didn't know about the cosmos until recently. Although the menu isn't exactly large, the quality of the food makes up for it. Personally, I'd rather have quality over quantity anyway! The pizza options were unique but absolutely delicious. My wife and I tried the stuffed corn fritters as well as the bacon and fig jam bruschetta as appetizers... holy tasty! For pizza, we had the runny egg (get it!) and the pineapple prosciutto (get it!). I don't know what kind of sorcery they're using over here but the runny egg is a game changer. The pineapple was easily the best I've ever had. We sat at the bar and were able to pick the brain of the keep; very friendly and offered great suggestions. As I said in the beginning... just go!

Yelp
It's always packed. I suggest going early. The servers are always pleasant. I go there for three items: Corn fritters - I usually take an order home Deviled eggs- their secret is the bacon. I've tried it in other restaurants, and Cosmos has the best ones. Salads-they have a salad that has fried goat cheese. That is usually what I have as my meal. It is amazing. It's great for summer days because it's filling but light and refreshing for those hot days.

Yelp
The pizza is surprisingly good! It just became one of my fav places to get pizza in Lansing. We ordered garlic shrimp and chicken pesto pizzas for three people and we still have decent leftovers. The garlic shrimp pizza is very rich and buttery. The shrimp is very fresh and juicy which exceeds my expectations. The crust is crunchy and not chewy or burnt. The chicken pesto pizza is very tasty and you can smell the fresh pesto and basil leaves. This one has very light sauce on top which does not make you feel bloated afterwards The only downside is that their waiters are too busy and we need to wait to add items to our orders
google avatar

Mae B.

Yelp
They ran out of everything we ordered. Very frustrating. They also do not have gluten free crust. Wings and FF gluten free but tasteless. Family said pizza was delicious. Salad my daughter said was bursting in flavor. Waitress was ok. Seem annoyed because we needed more dressing. But there was only a teaspoon on the whole salad. Then she comes back and says they were out. lol I would not come again.
google avatar

Bonnie C.

Yelp
The pizza was really good!! The duck fat fries were good, not the rave someone gave them. Be ware if you want more sauce they charge $1.04. They also charge for Parmesan and red pepper flakes!! That was another $1.56! Beers are almost $7 and a glass of HOUSE. Chardonnay is over $9!! We would get a pizza again TO GO! Our bill ended up over $63!! Service was slow. The ambiance isn't all that. Typical sports bar with less TVs.
google avatar

Ivan H.

Yelp
The pizza of the day was pleasantly delicious! The regular pepperoni was also delicious! Service was great and the beer was nice and cold! Also the music that was playing that day was old school emo which was the cherry on top! Will be back for sure!!
google avatar

Mariko I.

Yelp
The perfect spot for an extremely indulgent meal Pros: - friendly employees - delicious pizza - fast service Cons: - the duck fat fries were good (like all fries) but it wasn't anything outstanding I really like their "surprise me" menu item! Very grateful they have a vegetarian version of it too.
google avatar

Fadi M.

Yelp
Trust us pizza was amazing!! Not even huge seafood people and it was simply amazing. Garlic sauce with surf and turf toppings.. it's fun they change it up and make whatever. Kayla our server was fun, kept it and was very helpful. Good place and good vibes

Tina M.

Yelp
Nasty food and nasty personality of the workers. Not really much to say wasn't impressed overall very unwelcoming place.
google avatar

Ryan T.

Yelp
Overall was pretty good pizza. Crust was tasty and edges were more soft than crispy but still good flavor. The chicken pesto one was nice. The pizza area was closed for dining so sat in bar area, which feels like an old bar... outdoor patio looked nice. Service was pretty quick because it wasn't very crowded.
google avatar

Yelp
Fun Environment and the pizza was pretty good. Definitely recommend this place. Old Town area which is a place to be.
google avatar

Carolyn E.

Yelp
This place is great! Located in Old Town; a very cool pizza place, indeed. Cool vibe, great beer, excellent pizza. I love the open kitchen. We started with the Buffalo cauliflower dip which was truly delicious. Served hot with freshly fried pita triangles. Creamy, spicy, perfect. We also had the panzanella salad and The Marge pizza, which is a red pie with fresh mozzarella and balsamic. Perfect wood-fired thin crust - foldable, chewy, crispy. Whenever I'm in Lansing, I'll be stopping by!

Marissa F.

Yelp
Great service. Great variety of pizza. Kinda of small for the price of pizza. Great indoor space. Music is kind of loud. Limited parking space.
google avatar

Hinna S.

Yelp
Cosmos is great! I love the pizzas and sitting on the patio as well as the drinks! Wonderful location and wonderful staff.
google avatar

Jay G.

Yelp
I love this place and consider it one of the dining and drinking gems of Greater Lansing. It has been a favorite of mine for a number of years now. They have a great beer garden for the nicer weather (which does actually happen), a classic bar area (with a respectable selection of spirits), and a more eclectic pizza dining space. The service is consistently timely and friendly. The beer selection is solid and their bartenders are on top of their cocktail game. The small plates and pizzas are all very good, although the pizzas do tend to run a little spicy (I rather like that, but my wife only enjoys a few slices before she needs a fire brigade to put out her tongue).
google avatar

Teresa T.

Yelp
I've never been disappointed in any pizza from here. So much that 8 times out of 10 I do a "Trust Us Pizza" and let them build me whatever they want. I am also a fan of the fried goat cheese salad, though its portion is way small. Corn fritters have good texture and flavor. The Cosmos patio is one of my favorite summer/fall time patios to be on. Great cocktail mixes and craft beer selections.
google avatar

Caleb D.

Yelp
Honestly, the pizza was superb, the duck fat fries were very good, and the drinks from the bar were solid as well. It's definitely not a fancy place, but the food was good and the atmosphere was fun. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in town.
google avatar

Olivia A.

Yelp
Loved this place! Definitely found it was confusing when we first walked in the door, we weren't greeted by anyone until we found our way next door in Zoobies Tavern. Someone told us to seat ourselves and then after that service was super kind but very busy. We ordered the stuffed corn fritters and i loved them! I tried the garlic shrimp pizza and it was amazing and the crust tasted great as well. Next time I want to try the Runny Egg Pizza.
google avatar

Lauren D.

Yelp
We were staying in Grand Haven and wanted a place in Lansing to stop for lunch on the drive home to Detroit. Wouldn't-ya-know-it this place popped up on Diners, Drive Ins and Dives and who am I to deny Divine providence? At first we thought this place was closed so I called [Google said they should be open] and sure enough they were, but you have to enter through Zoobies next door. We chose to sit in their outdoor patio area and it was really nice. They have great shade back there to keep you cool in the summer heat. I'm the only one that ordered a cocktail [the Stone Cold Gin] and though I wanted to like it, I'd say it was weak in both flavor and potency. Their menu had so many interesting flavors that we wanted to try about half of them, but unfortunately they dont let you split the pizzas so we were only able to try 3: The Runny Egg, The Pineapple Prosciutto, and The #9 in the world. The "runny" eggs were over hard and Im generally not a chorizo fan so this was my least favorite but I can appreciate the creativity. The pineapple Prosciutto was very good. They had shaved pineapple slices rather than chunks ensuring maximum coverage without losing pieces everywhere. The habanero cream sauce had just the right kick on this one so overall it was cery good. The unanimous favorite was the #9. It was meaty, tomatoey, cheesy, and the cajun dust added a unique flair. All-in-all I wish this place was closer so I could try it more. Knocked off a star for the disappointing drink and not having any signage in the front indicating they were open or where to go. We arent local and ended up walking all the way around the building before finding the right entrance, because we didnt realize Zoobies is affiliated with them

Yelp
Really cool concept of the "Trust us" pizza and cocktails. Never been disappointed by the outcome. Very fun spot to meet with friends and try something new.
google avatar

Karrie B.

Yelp
Fresh made dough, wood fired and all around bomb pizza. My family enjoys the "runny egg" pizza, the Caesar kale salad, duck fat fries and enjoying a cold micro brew on their patio.
google avatar

Erica D.

Yelp
A must in Lansing. Creative and flavorful pizzas along with a delicious appetizer menu. Far and away the best pizza spot in town, and definitely would put them against any pizza joint in Michigan. Tip: order the meatballs, whether it's the savory and sweet appetizer or on their pizza.
google avatar

Sam W.

Yelp
We came here bc the reviews on yelp but it was a bit disappointing. The positive first - the flavor was good. The service was great. The not so positive- the place was too hot - it was like the a/c just couldn't handle the small space. It was uncomfortable. And we were not near our hotel; otherwise, I would have ordered it to go. Also the pizza was burnt (so disappointed) I think it was have tasted better not burnt js the other pizza was okay.
google avatar

Dolly S.

Yelp
We had the pizza and wings, both were amazing. Perfect in every way. Eating outside on the patio we got to enjoy the open air and the servers were attentive. Great food, lovely atmosphere, I can't say enough good of this place with absolutely no drawbacks. Even the prices were reasonable. Especially for the magnificent quality of the food. Tip your servers well!
google avatar

Annette C.

Yelp
The 4 stars are for the food only as the service was poor. Our server seemed overwhelmed and very unsure of himself. He didn't check on our table once the food was brought or refilled drinks glasses without being asked to. In a noisy restaurant, he was so quiet I'm still not sure what was on my pizza. Now on to the food: we chose the corn fritters and the pizza was chefs choice. The corn fritters were good but not great as they seemed under cooked in the middle. But the sauce that is served with them made up for that. The pizza was delicious! My advice: let them choose the toppings for you. You won't be disappointed.
google avatar

Doug R.

Yelp
Great customer service from the waitress, but the food is average at least what I had. The seafood pizza is not made with fresh seafood and the truffle fries are average. I'm sorry I can't give them 5 stars because I was looking forward to the experience.

Christian W.

Yelp
Neat spot, but some items on the menu were a little dissapointing. For appetizers we got the duck fat fries, the baked wings, and the fried goat cheese salad. The fries were a little underwhelming as they were decent but seemed like they would have better based on what people in other reviews had said. The wings were also decent, they were tender and juicy but lacked seasoning. The goat cheese salad was great though, being one of the best things we ordered. It was very fresh and the fried goat cheese made a tasty creamy, fried addition to the salad. For pizzas we got the Runny Egg, the Pepperoni Classico, and the Pineapple Prosciutto. The Runny Egg was okay, I wasn't the biggest fan of the egg and pizza combo and it needed a bit more chorizo. The Pepperoni Classico was okay as well, it was a bit greasy and underwhelming. But, the Pineapple Prosciutto was outstanding! The spicy cream sauce combined with the prosciutto and pineapple was a great combo of sweet, salty, and spicy that tasted amazing. The spice was a little unpredictable as some bites you'd get none but some would really light you up. This pizza was probably the best thing we got here. Overall, there were a few great things we got but a majority of the items were disappointing. I'd like to bump my rating up to 4 stars because I loved the Pineapple Prosciutto and the salad was great, but everything else was disappointing or bland. Service was great though. Quick and friendly
google avatar

Heather M.

Yelp
The Cosmos is consistently good. We've been here a couple of times and have never once been disappointed. Their selection of pizzas are amazing, and on top of that, their duck fat fries are to die for- highly recommended for an appetizer with the parmesan! The "Trust Us" pizza might be scary to you- but I promise you it's worth the risk. It's been amazing to see the fun things they've brought out to us- they're very careful about allergens, so no worries there. Give it a try for a nice surprise!
google avatar

Heather H.

Yelp
The service can be slow even when COVID staffing wasn't an issue. Good pizzas and good beer selection

Brittney B.

Yelp
Love the pizza and the apps, I could eat bowls of the truffle pop corn. Nice environment too. Very chill.
google avatar

Kenzie M.

Yelp
Came here for a late lunch because I was looking for a nice place to sit on the patio. This place has a huge patio with plenty of different seating options (sun, shade, different chairs & tables). Our service was excellent and the food was delicious. I recommend trying the stuffed corn fritters. We also had the runny egg pizza and finished the whole thing between two of us. They have a small craft beer menu but it includes something for everyone. They also have cocktails and wine. I saw on their website that they give restaurant industry people 25% of Sunday's with a pay stub for proof. My waitress told me that this was an old promotion, but the manger still gave it to me. It was very nice of them to do that. Five stars because I have nothing to complain about :) I will be back!
google avatar

Holly J.

Yelp
Supper yummy!! But don't expect a "normal" pepperoni pizza! We loved all the unique options! I had the Duck Sausage, my mom had the Bosc Pear and my daughter the pepperoni! All very good! My moms was even a little burnt on the bottom but she devoured it wonderful food! Service was a little slow but not too bad!
google avatar

Todd R.

Yelp
In from out of town and tried Cosmos based on Local feedback. I was there on a Saturday night and sat on the patio where a band was playing, which was fun. I asked for recommendations from the server who gave a couple of suggestions, one of which I went with. The pizza was very good and the atmosphere was fun. I will visit again when in town.

Lynette M.

Yelp
We've had pizza here on a few occasions in the past, and both the food and service were good. We went again yesterday, and we couldn't enjoy our food due to an inordinate number of gnats flying around us. We had to keep our pizzas covered with napkins to keep the gnats off our food. I ended up just boxing up my pizza & taking it home. I couldn't take having to fight with the gnats. I hope they do something about the gnats & SCRUB their tables, because their tables have a grimy black film on them.

Nancy B.

Yelp
This used to be a great place for a pizza! Not so tonight. Our waitress did not know the menu, was not sure how to even pronounce the beer we ordered. She had to come back three times to tell us what the ingredients that were on the "Trust Me" pizza for the day. We were captive for two hours while she ran back and forth trying to understand what our beer and food orders meant. The machine was not working when it came time to pay the bill so we finally asked her to write our order down on paper and take it inside to get a paper bill. When she returned the items on the bill were not ours. It was a nightmare night out along with mediocre servings of what used to be great pizza. We will not be back!

Vanessa C.

Yelp
Usually get the margarita pizza, overall it's good but because it's such a thin pizza it's usually warm by the time the pizza is served you. Fried goat cheese salad is worth trying.
google avatar

Ray P.

Yelp
This is good pizza, maybe even better than good. I'd give it 4 1/2 if that were an option. If you're a pizza afficionado or a foodie, you'd probably like it. It doesn't hurt that it's adjacent to a cool bar.
google avatar

Marie H.

Yelp
I've went twice in one week. The pizza was perfectly cooked and flavorful. They also have great drinks.
