Everything is fresh and made with care, and you can really taste the quality in every bite. My favorite is their challah bread, it’s soft, fluffy, perfectly braided, and slightly sweet. It’s amazing on its own or toasted with a little butter. The bakery has such a warm, welcoming feel, and the bread always tastes homemade and comforting. If you love fresh bread, especially challah, this place is a must-try!

I stumbled upon this bakery unexpectedly since it’s right next to a dog park I’ve been taking my dog to, and I’m so glad I did. Right when you walk in, there’s a tray of samples, which is such a nice touch — especially if it’s your first time or you’re feeling indecisive. Every pastry I tried was fresh and delicious, and everything was surprisingly well-priced. My favorite was the pistachio bread and vanilla bun! The customer service truly stood out. The woman helping me was kind, answered all my questions, and even gave me a coupon for a free loaf of bread on my next visit since it was my first time in. It’s a small, take-out-only space, but there are outdoor seating areas right outside, which makes it easy to enjoy your pastries nearby. It’s been a while since I’ve visited a business that so clearly puts real care and pride into both quality and service. With so many small businesses cutting corners while overcharging, this place is doing the opposite. They’ve made a fantastic first impression, and I’m genuinely very impressed — I’ll definitely be back!! 🤗

Really great pastries. The folks in shop are very nice, and always ask how we’re doing when we come in. Our daughter loves the cookies. They are our go to for Thanksgiving and Christmas. We drive from about 40 minutes north to visit whenever we can. 10/10

TLDR; this place puts every other bakery to shame. 5 stars is not enough. I stumbled upon this place because a cafe closer to home sources their baked goods. We visited their storefront this weekend and were totally blown away by how good their pastries and bread are. The garlic knot is my all-time favorite but this time, their pistachio tea cake was what really made my day. Nothing is greasy, nothing is overly sweet. This place is an absolute gem.

The Cottage is truly one of the most special places in our community. Every time I visit, the staff goes far beyond simple customer service. They are genuinely kind, they remember people, and they truly care about how your day is going. That kind of hospitality is rare and it never goes unnoticed. I also appreciate the care they put into making fresh pastries every single day. You really can feel the intention and pride behind everything they make. I recently attended their Pretzels for Purpose event this past weekend and was honestly emotional seeing the impact this small bakery has on the Edmonds community. The generosity, heart, and the way they show up for people is something that means a lot to me. I’m proud to support a business like this.

Pistachio Cake! That’s right, they now have a very yummy Pistachio Cake, no weird extract just glorious pistachios and the cake is so moist you just can’t stop eating it. While here we always try to get a loaf or two and guys their focaccia always hits the spot, but of course don’t forget to grab a cookie or 4 its well worth it.

The Cottage is amazing, and so is everybody who works there. I’ve never met kinder people before. They truly make the atmosphere there feel family-like. Their bread is top tier (my personal favorite is the herbed olive sourdough), and I love that they carry local items on their shelves. You can see - and taste - how much love they pour into that place. I also had the privilege of volunteering at their Pretzels for Purpose event, and this place is so much more than just “flour and water”. They truly care about their community and Edmonds is a better place because of them.

Indeed, the bread from this bakery is delightful! I bought a loaf of the olive sourdough and it didn't disappoint. The kind young lady working behind the counter gave me a rye chocolate chip cookie and oh my goodness, it was delicious. 🤤 The customer service was excellent and I'm looking forward to trying other goodies from this bakery in the near future. Sorry, the chicken noodle soup that's shown in my picture isn't there's. 😁

What should I say about their sourdough bread which is nothing less than amazing. I have tried their tea cake as well. Not too sweet and goes so well when you need a small pick me up. It's definitely a small bakery with wonderful folks running it. Always very friendly and kind.

This bakery is a hidden gem in the Perrinville neighborhood of Edmonds. Love their bread and baked goods. I've stopped by when they had samples of their French onion foccacia out, as well as their granola butter smeared on bread and it was all sooo good! On this last visit, I got the chocolate chunk rye cookie, maple shortbread and the dutch apple darling. All were delicious, but I would say the standout is the chocolate chunk rye cookie. I like being surprised when I show up because I never know what is available or what new item is on display that is calling my name. Service is friendly and prompt. Even with a line, it goes quickly. There are a couple of tables outside with chairs to enjoy your treats.

I visited The Cottage, Community Bakery a couple of weeks ago for the first time and was instantly hooked by their fantastic bread and pastries. I've been several more times afterwards, making this essentially a weekly excursion at this point. Yes, it is that good. Ciabatta ($3) - The size of a large hamburger bun, these ciabatta buns are a miracle of the baking world. A chewy and moist crumb combined with a fantastic, very well developed flavor and a crust that's crisp yet gives. (5/5) Vanilla Bun ($4.25) - Think of a cinnamon roll - somewhat dense and bready, but rich and sweet - and subtract the cinnamon, but add a generous amount of vanilla and a layer of sugar on top. That's the vanilla bun. It's sweet and chewy with a burst of vanilla flavor. Delicious. (5/5) Pear Bostock ($5) - Thick cut piece of toast, baked until it develops a harder layer on the edges, but the interior remains light. It's topped with a delicious almond frangipane, light, fluffy, and smooth, then a layer of tender skin-on sliced pear, and finally dusted with powdered sugar and cinnamon. If that doesn't get your mouth watering, nothing will. (5/5) French Onion Soup Focaccia ($7) - They had a sample of this in the store and I couldn't resist buying after trying. The interior is exceptionally moist and fluffy, topped with baked cheese, giving a fantastic nutty flavor, combining well with the rosemary. There are small pockets of salt to create an explosion of flavor with every bite. I think this bread could have used just a bit more time in the oven to create additional browning on the bottom, but flavor-wise, this focaccia is excellent. I'm not sure if this was intentional, but there are soft onion bits baked inside, which have settled to the bottom half of the bread. If you only eat the bottom side of the bread, the flavor is very reminiscent of a Chinese green onion pancake. (5/5) Toasted Walnut Sourdough ($9) - Again, an excellent baked crust with an exceptionally moist, high hydration interior. The bread looks a bit darker on the interior, possibly due to the walnut skins coloring the dough? The taste is nutty with a pleasing sourness. While toasting the bread, there are sections where the heat hits the interior walnuts, giving a great toasty flavor. (5/5) Cardamom Bun ($5) - This is essentially a cinnamon roll but with added cardamom. I found this pastry to be a bit weaker than everything else. While it has a pleasing sweetness level and the cardamom flavor isn't too overpowering, the interior feels a bit too hydrated, with dough that's kind of melded together and a crumb that's too moist. I wonder if the the cardamom sugar mixture slathered inside adds too much moisture? Still, this bun is plenty tasty and I especially love the additional crunch from the nib sugar strewn on top. (4/5) I was trying to find a replacement for my favorite Zingerman's in Ann Arbor after moving to Washington and I can safely say that I've found it. The only downside is the prices - I've never seen a place sell baguettes for $7 before! Still, the Cottage, Community Bakery is a stellar bakery, and is one that I will be visiting time and time again.

The Cottage, Community Bakery has been in existence since 2018 and I enjoyed reading the background information provided on their website. Clearly, I have been under a boulder (not a rock) not having this amazing indie business on my radar screen sooner, learned about it only recently. Indeed there is a quality bakeshop with reasonable prices for north enders in the Perrinville area of Edmonds! I had stopped by on 11/25/24, only to find out that the site is closed on Mondays. My bad for not checking beforehand. I returned with a fellow Yelp Elite/IGer on 11/30/24 after our breakfast at nearby Bistro 76. One thing that was notable upon immediate entry was the amazing, tantalizing baking scent. I loved how the various stacked flour bags acted as instant customer flow barriers. Lots of merch, platters of samples, and I was glad for the line because it allowed me to gawk at the vast product line of artisan breads and other baked goods. I bought one each of the French Onion Soup Focaccia ($7), Lemon Bun ($4), and Chocolate Chunk Rye Cookie ($3). Delicious and satisfying - as how well crafted baked goods should be received. Also notable, very welcoming, well informed, and upbeat counter staff. Definitely recommended! Open Wed to Fri 8am to 6pm. Weekends 8am to 4pm. Closed Mon/Tues. Stop by early for best availability and selection.

HOLY CROISSANTS, BATMAN! Let me tell you about my serendipitous stumble into carb heaven at the Edmonds Farmers Market! There I was, minding my own business, when Community Bakery's stall beckoned to my inner Parisian (she's been sulking since that magical trip to France approximately 47,283 croissants ago). Picture this: Me, standing there like a kid in a... well, bakery, eyeing this absolutely magnificent loaf of bread. Did they have a bread slicer? Non. Did that stop me? Also non! Sure, I knew I'd probably turn that beautiful loaf into a bread crime scene at home, but YOLO, right? But wait, there's more! The real cherry on top (or should I say, the butter on the croissant?) was the crew of teenage staff members who were actually - gasp - HAPPY to be there! In Seattle, where the infamous 'Seattle Freeze' is so real it could probably preserve dinosaur DNA, finding friendly service is like finding a parking spot downtown - rare and worthy of celebration! These kids were dropping knowledge about baked goods like they were the next generation of Great British Bake Off contestants. It was downright heartwarming, folks! Makes me want to rush to The Cottage before my great state exodus next year. TL;DR: If you're tired of the Seattle Freeze, come thaw out with some warm bread and even warmer smiles at Community Bakery. Your taste buds will thank you, and your faith in human interaction might just get restored! P.S. To my mangled bread loaf: I regret nothing. You were delicious in all your uneven glory.

Fav hidden gem in Lynnwood. Influencers please just shush!!! Lol. Whenever I get the chance, I always try to get my hands on their olive sourdough bread. Literal heart eyes. It's the perfect savory tangy bread to have with a shmear of cold kerry gold unsalted butter. And with little bit of chili oil on top???-- so effing amazing. You can ask for their bread sliced as well. I'm sure any selection you just can't go wrong. But that olive sourdough... you can't get anywhere else. It's so great to just gift or bring to your fancy dinner party with friends. Also great to pair with some fresh oysters and red wine. I also grabbed their lemon pastry and it was so delightful. Anyways, I love you cottage bakery.

In short This is the spot--the local and expert baker(s) turning out all the awesome bread, pastries, pretzels, and the like. No cakes or pies, but everything else. In long Local restaurants have clearly already gotten hip to what's happening here, and that's how we found out about this place. We had fantastic pretzels at a place down in the Edmonds Bowl a couple months ago, where they proudly call out The Cottage as their supplier. We immediately planned to shop here the next time we could fit in a cheat meal. This weekend, with family in town, turns out to be perfect. I don't know if this corner of Perrinville is always this packed on Thursday afternoons, but there was not much parking today. Good indicator for the business! In related news, there's a whole set of interesting-looking businesses all tucked together here in a setting that's less like a strip mall and more like the "country village" model that pops up up around these parts. They're right by the parking lot entrance, and in the time it took me to park, multiple carloads of people headed in. You turn left right away and walk around the stacks of flour and shelving. Having no resistance to temptation myself, this ended up prompting me to grab a jar of Mt Baker Fireweed honey. The selection here is focused and shows some flair for variety, but by no means do they have hundreds of different products. It's one kitchen also filling dozens of restaurant/retail orders, so it was nice to see a couple dozen things to choose from here. I got the country sourdough (heavy, crusty, fragrant) and green onion focaccia (also dense and fragrant). The focaccia is probably the best I've had--once you heat it up and butter it, it's the only bread I've ever been tempted to describe as "tender." It's incredibly delicate. The sourdough English muffins also overpowered my sales resistance, and they're amazing. Not light and airy at all like the English muffins we Americans get at the supermarket, but chewy and tasty. For my sister I got cardamom buns and granola. I've never even heard of cardamom buns before, so I appreciate these folks helping me step a stride or two out of my sheltered existence. Kind of a cinnamon roll, but a little smaller, and more Christmas-y in their spice profile. The granola is sweet and crunchy and kind of a gourmet breakfast cereal you eat dry. Super good. The kids at the counter are super young, very friendly and nice, and work well together. I didn't have many questions and didn't dawdle, but they had all the info I needed right away. Awesome little shop.

Quick summary of this place it's a little bakery that has a few tables/chairs outside but is mainly to pick up your baked goods, don't plan on sitting here is all I'm saying lol I love love love this place, literally writing this as we've just picked up more yumminess (grabbed 4 of the chocolate biscotti to freeze and take with me to my fam) Let's get to the food Chocolate and pistachios biscotti: I LOVE this so much than in the summer when they take all the biscotti to market (Edmonds summer farmers market) I will suffer the mass of people and no parking and stay in line to get these Rye Bread: OMG we loved these for our grilled cheese sandwiches we made at home Chocolate chip cookies: one of the best cookies ever! Little flakes on top and leans more cakes than chewy which I love! Olive Sourdough/Sourdough /Walnut Sourdough/oat sourdough: guys listen all their bread is yummy, like cut a chunk off and eat it now good, like slice and toast and put a little butter and that's all you need in life good Go try it... thank me later Btw I live in Kirkland and yep I go there whenever I can. WORTH IT! By the way these guys are great, they even gave my little one a free pretzel bun (which was very yummy according to her)

This place has become a staple of my grocery shop every week. I get the brioche every week because it's so fantastic, perfect for sandwich bread, toast, or french toast. The maple shortbread is delicious too. I have to restrain myself to not get the sea salt focaccia every week. The staff is lovely, helpful, and will get you through the line quickly.

What a gem in Lynnwood/Edmonds! I have had various bread and pastries at this bakery, and they are some of the best I have had in my life. The olive sourdough is to die for. The staff is friendly and welcoming. This is my go-to bakery.

This bakery is completely take away. So be prepared to take lots away! The sea salt focaccia bread is delicious. The baked pastry called a darling is a very unique and yummy take on a turnover. There is almost always a line but it is organized well and moves quickly. The customer is two steps away from where the magic happens. Clean and bright with delicious aromas.

Bread worth driving to from Shoreline. We have it on our calendar for a weekly pilgrimage. All the styles are great, the few pastries they make divine and the focaccia a sumptuous pillow that doesn't always make it home.

Decided to stop by when I saw they had a pretzel everything bagel. They had all different kinds of breads inside and after trying their bagel, I definitely will make a trip back to try their other goods. The bagel was fluffy on the inside and well seasoned. Their breads looked fresh and promising. I liked how discreet this bakery was. I highly recommend!

The breads made at The Cottage Coop are amazing! Everything is freshly made. Service is organized and quick. This is not a sit down restaurant sort of place, although they have a table or two outside. They also offer a few pastry and cookie options.

The olive bread is absolutely sublime - I tried nothing else, but that alone is sufficient for a return trip. Crunchy/crusty exterior, soft fluffy interior, unctuous sourdough and olive flavors. So yum. I knew when I saw the green of the castelvetrano olives when I sliced into the loaf that it was gonna be good (my favorite olive by far!).

We happened upon this bakery and picked up the cottage cookies and the focaccia. The cottage cookies were baked well, but the mix of toppings in there are not my favorite, but that's definitely a personal preference. The focaccia was really light and fluffy and quality bread, but I wish there was more flavor. It would have been fantastic if there was more herbs like rosemary.

Do yourself a favor when you're there and get the Herbed Olive Sourdough loaf...or the Dad's Deli Rye loaf. So, so delicious. I make my own bread, but I treat myself to theirs because it's amazing.

Absolutely delicious breads. We got the oat sourdough. A nut bread, brioche loaf and 1/2 dozen pretzel balls. When you store bread in airtight containers, it lasts all week. Last visit we got local jam which is also delicious. Check hours as they're specific, but a fun routine in our family to get fresh bread for the week. Considering prices for plastic packaged bread at the supermarket, getting fresh, preservative free and delicious bread for about the same price is a great option.

I recently moved from Capitol Hill and a friend told me about this lovely hidden gem tucked away in my new neighborhood. I was so excited my first visit that I bought the country sourdough, bagels, pretzel, banana bread slice, chocolate chunk cookies, this apple pastry, and the cardamom bun! All of it was so good! They can slice the sourdough for you as well. We went through that loaf so quickly! The banana bread is incredibly moist and delicious. The chocolate chunk cookies are amazing if you love a good chunky/chewy cookie. I recommend heating up the cardamom bun (it's rather dense when you get it) it will soften it up perfectly. This weekend I got another loaf of sourdough and the rosemary focaccia to try. Weekend trips to the Cottage is going to be my new routine for getting my fresh bread for the week!

Bought two pumpkin pies for Thanksgiving at the Cottage Bakery for Thanksgiving. The filling in the pies was great the crust was not edible you couldn't even cut the crust it was awful. I spent $50 on two which couldn't be eaten on cut into. The service was good but the pies were awful.

We stopped by on a weekend. The vibe was excellent. All the staff were efficient, helpful, and friendly despite being a busy Saturday morning! We bought focaccia bread, pretzel knots, cookies, and a cardamon roll. We absolutely loved everything! We will be coming regularly! 10/10 Reccomend!

This is a hidden gem , but more people should know about it and go here . Really delicious fresh bread , and pastries and cookies that aren't t too sugary . It's the bread that keeps me coming back. Love the walnut sourdough, but have yet to be disappointed. Best bakery (for bread) that I've found since living here.

We stumble upon this little bakery because it is on one of "car-ride" routes that I take my dog on. My wife and I are always on bakery hunt so when we spotted it few weeks ago late in the afternoon we decided to give it a try. We were there late so the selection was limited, but we were still BLOWN away with what we were able to get. We got a Baguette and a pretzel. We pretty much devoured both before reaching home because they were SOOOOOO yummy. The baguette has this chew to it that I absolutely love. Not just the chew, the just right amount of fragrance and sweetness just in the bread itself was to DIE for. Needless to say, we try to visit them once a week now. Actually we just got back from the store about few hours ago, this time we got baguette, garlic/herb focaccia, a berry galette, and I think it's Raspberry Darling. And on the way home I made a stop at Town&country market to get my favorite Hams, headcheese, prosciutto, and brie to pair with the fantastic bread. I had to tell the wife to stop eating the bread on the ride home, but she kept sneak in a bite when I'm not paying attention. That's how good this place is!!!!

Fantastic baguettes and sourdough bread. The real thing. Not the junky French bread some of the local grocery stores sell.

I get the Toasted Walnut sourdough almost every time I go here. It's always excellent. But that's not what brought me to Yelp to post a review. What brought me to Yelp was the Focaccia I got today. It is wonderful! Chewy, yeasty, moist, salty, just perfect. Clearly only an hour or two out of the oven. I just can't stop eating it.

This guy started with just a pop up stand during the pandemic. So grateful to have them then and cool that they are doing well now. I very rarely eat sweets but bought a cookie box for Christmas and it was awesome. Sometimes they have pizza dough made fresh too which is fantastic. Their breads make an otherwise boring sandwiches for dinner night into a treat.

Love this bakery and the breads and pastries. Lately though several items are overbaked and even a little burned. Today's english muffins were very dark and tasted burned and a few weeks ago my walnut bread had a burned crust. We love the cottage cookies and focaccia.

Haven't tried much yet, but the olive herb bread was amazing. However, the cardamom bun that I recieved was completely raw in the middle, not sure if it was just this batch or somthing else. The other time I had one it was raw as well.

Shortbread was old and rock hard and almond bread was old gross and soggy. Waste of time if they're selling products like this.

I've tried their breads, pretzels, cookies, pastries and gluten free granola. Every thing is fresh and yummy. It's well staffed and friendly. I try to go once a week. You can't go wrong at this bakery!!

So happy to have this amazing bakery in the neighborhood! We purchased 2 pizza doughs and a salted pretzel bagel. Hands down the best bagel I've ever had. I cannot wait to return and try their other breads and pastries.

Was in the area while my fiancé was picking up lunch and saw this cute bakery. I am obsessed with bread and definitely needed to check it out. So I dropped in and got a brioche loaf, a french baguette, and a few of their pastries. I am in love! Wish I bought more bread. The french baguette was perfectly chewy and yummy. We ate a few slices of the brioche which was really good but used most of it to make french toast the next morning. Definitely coming back! Also read about them on their website and they have such an amazing backstory!

Discovered these guys at the farmers market and they've quickly become a weekly staple for me. Every single item I've tried from them has been delicious!

I was so glad to find an actual bakery close to home! Finding really good bread in this area has been a challenge. The bakery now has some limited hours for retail and I've stopped in several times. They have a wonderful baguette and the everything bagels are delicious. Maybe my favorite thing has been the olive sourdough bread, but today...I bit down on an olive pit. Fortunately, not hard enough to break a tooth, but it was still quite a surprise. I tried the biscotti, which were delicious, but I prefer biscotti baked a little longer so they can stand up to a dunk in coffee or wine. So, lots to love and a couple of things to keep in mind.

This is by far the top notch bakery in all of the US, which is a bold statement. However, it is true! All bread and sweets are authentic and original.. not to mention delicious. My husband grew up with the owner which makes this even more special. Local people crashing local business, this is what we are all about!

We stopped by a couple of weeks ago and ordered an apple pastry, which was delicious, a few Irish soda breads that were surprisingly slightly over baked and a little dry and molasses cookies that were IMHO too sweet. We have had their pretzels in the past which were excellent!

Real sourdough! The bread is so fresh. They have very good shortbread cookies and other baked goods. Staff were very friendly, fast, and efficient. Great place.
