We were excited about this experience and planned our day around visiting this speakeasy. Sadly, we were highly disappointed.
The service took such a long time. From the time to the time we left was more than 40 minutes. Here's what happened in those 40 minutes:
- Our party of 4 ordered 2 cocktails, 1 old fashion, and a draft beer.
- After about 20 minutes we were looking around for the drinks or our server. The bartenders weren't making drinks so you can imagine how confused we were to not have drinks.
- We were making a decision to cancel the order when the server brought another table their drinks (they came in after us). We asked about ours and she said the bartenders were finishing them (the bartenders had not been making drinks for some time).
- A few minutes later the cocktails and old fashion came out. We asked about the draft beer. Server said it was coming from main bar (which we could also see through the window).
-After a few more minutes, server came back to attend to other table and we asked the very kind person refilling water to cancel the beer.
- A few minutes later, server comes with beer and puts it in front of my husband. He said he had canceled this and she said it was already on its way out.
- Here's the best part, he was reaching for it and she yanked it away and said he didn't need to drink it, she'd cancel it. He said no, he'd drink it and she said no, she'd cancel it.
- She walked away, we were left in shock, she came back by and said we didn't need to pay for any of the drinks.
I'm not sure what her deal was but I hope she figured it out. From what we had of the drinks (i wanted out so I had guzzled mine before she said not to pay and friends had sipped theirs) the drinks were very tasty.
We had our standards set too high in guess?
