Great small bar. Everyone knows each other it seems and made us feel welcome. Definitely will be back.

After driving past the Cove for too long I’m happy to have finally made a stop. I had a nice beer from Atwater, and it was served in a chilled glass. Service was very nice, and they seem to have a regular clientele to keep things lively. I’d definitely recommend them as a dive bar in Douglas. The bartender was friendly, and it was just a nice place to stop for a drink. Definitely worth a try.

We were basically driven out because we had 12 gay guys to show up and buy drinks and spend Money on food and told one customer complained because we were Gay. We were asked to stop touching each other. Really we have spent hundred of dollars there and to be treated that way is ridiculous. Wow

Small neighborhood hood bar. Been here a long time. I used to play pool here in the early 80's. Chicago pool hustlers use to come up during the week. Stakes were high.

My local dive bar. Prices are outstanding, service is wonderful Pool tables. Juke box off you phone. I even play the "Victor's" on it from Texas when Michigan wins. Great service. Took my mom here 17 years ago when I moved in. Have hamburgers hours after other places closed. Thanks.

We weren’t quite sure what to expect when we came to the Cove, but our first visit was so much fun, we came back a second time! Perfect little neighborhood bar, met some really nice people (Vicky and John) who were so engaging and fun, and let’s not forget Phil the bartender- he was so personable and friendly! Great jukebox, the coldest beer in Michigan, yummy hot dogs, and all around a great little spot to visit- You can enjoy drinks with the locals but you’ll feel like you’re at home. Next time we come to the area, we’re coming back! 😊

Yelp
Have you ever had a place that you didn't want to review because you don't want other people to know about it? This is that kind of place. It's a dive bar in a very busy City and it is still a local watering spot. I can't say the food is the greatest but they do have keno, and they do have ice cold beer and they're very heavy-handed on their cocktails. Don't expect anything fancy, but always expect good conversation. The bartenders are always friendly every time my friend and I have been there and I will continue to go every time I am on the west side of the state.

Yelp
I love a good dive bar and The Cove is absolutely that! Cheap drinks and pool tables with locals and friendly bartenders. They also have a great selection of high end liquor. I enjoyed a Saugatuck Brewery Blonde and my husband had a Screwball Whiskey mixed with Baileys. Our bill was $10!!! We didn't have any food but, they had a thorough menu of bar food with extremely reasonable prices! Cash only but, they have an ATM.

Yelp
Nice place, good atmosphere. The food was a little pricey. $8.00 for a bag of potato chips and dip.

Yelp
This is a must stop bar, when visiting Saugatuck/Douglas. Absolutely a gem and perfectly unchanged after all of these years!

Yelp
The absolute best kept secret in the Douglas/Saugatuck area. Local hang out with ice cold beer, frozen mugs, IPA draft if you have to have it. The best air fryer food I have ever tasted. Owner operated. Very nice people working there,

Yelp
Bartender whined when we entered 2hrs before closing tonight. Huffed and puffed about us entering & said he "didn't want any problems". We had never said a word, when he said that, we just nodded and left. Find a place that actually wants to have customers verses this out of the way shack.

Yelp
Don't let the tired sign and old school feel fool you, The Cove is a subtle gem in Douglas. Being a bar, I'll begin with the drinks. Served mainly in a high ball glass, you'll get nothing less than a strong to normal pour. Liquor and beer selection is nothing but the norm. Food is surprisingly appetizing however prepare to smell like fried food the rest of your night

Yelp
This was a great find. Almost drove past it the first time, but so glad we found it. Definitely falls under the "dive bar" category, but we loved the old school charm. In an area of more trendy places to drink this was a nice change of pace. It was also the only place that stayed open past 11:00!! We were amused by the shelves behind the bar that were labeled with the prices for each liquor. :-)

Yelp
Nice friendly bar. limited food choices. Nice pool tables. I stop in there 5 or six times a year. Never had a bad experience there.

Yelp
Well I must challenge the one star wonders here. What I gather is that they don't like dive joints. If you do (and for the record I love them) stop in the Cove. The owner is almost always running the place and couldn't be nicer or more efficient. You come in for your second visit and he remembers you like you are a ten year regular. The crowd is very local, but I am not. I do have an outgoing personality and never have a problem fitting in. The menu is limited but good. Everything goes in a convection oven, not a microwave as someone falsely reported. If you want a $15 cocktail head into Saugatuck. If you want a really authentic local bar do not pass the Cove.

Yelp
Do not go! A very rude place. The customer does not come first. We were traveling and wanted to stop for a late bite. Called ahead to see if they were open. Mary answered the phone and said yes. Said they would be open for another hour. When we got outside the location we were turned away. Mary told us tbh already had last call. That was 5 minutes after the first call and 45 before closing. Do not waste your time.

Yelp
Small hometown joint. Taco Tuesday is awesome 3 tacos and pop $5.00 can't beat it. Two pool tables , keno, and cheap beer prices.
