It’s got a dingy-glam saloon bar that seems to run on champagne, Guinness, and the potential for things to get out of hand, while upstairs is a red leather-clad dining room tailor-made for raucous dinners. "One of the great grainy photos of the 2010s is one of Tom Cruise and David Beckham. Cruise is animated, with some water and a glass of red in front of him. Becks, doublefisting like a true Brit, has a half-drunk pint of Guinness and a glass of rouge too. "Contrary to its name, The Cow is a pub and dining room near Notting Hill that specialises in seafood, not beef. One of the go-to orders here is oysters and Guinness, but you’ll also find a deluxe seafood platter, fresh crab tagliolini, and The Cow’s fish stew on the menu. This namesake stew is a volcanic orange colour with mussels, prawns, and white fish bobbing about—and comes with a giant crouton with a big dollop of rouille on top. Forget whether Tom Cruise or one of Jude Law’s angular offspring are in the corner of this celeb-favourite pub and restaurant in Notting Hill, and just focus on what’s in front of you. Specifically, the six Jersey rock oysters and a pint of Guinness. They’re delicate and crispy, and the perfect foil for a creamy pint of the black stuff.
