"This family-run seafood standby serves a large pretzel baked with crab dip and sprinkled with Old Bay and scallions. Swing by during daily happy hour (3 p.m. to 7 p.m.) to score one for just $8." - Tierney Plumb, Claudia Rosenbaum

We stopped by CrabShack today - first time out of towners. Staff are so so super friendly. And the place is kept very clean, staff were wiping tables, cleaning windows - just very attentive. Their corn is EXCELLENT. Salad was very fresh. Tasty delicious broccoli. My jerk steamed shrimp were just okay. Jerk but not much other flavor. Areas of improvement: My daughter's salmon was just a bit to spicy for her (even though I specifcally asked for no spicy) Overall, about a 3.5 on food and a 5 on service!

The crabs are fantastic. The bartender Heather it is wonderful. I had a couple of beers and some raw oysters while I waited. I will definitely be back. I stopped in again on 6/28. Heather was a great server once again. I got three oysters on the half shell (Blue Star) they were excellent again. I got the fried clams on the happy hour special and they were yummy. I also got the fried zucchini strips, which I will not yet again. I think they would be better if they were thinner and had more crunch. The thickness was such that the outside was a little crispy, but the inside was mushy. I still give the restaurant an excellent rating.

Every Friday, dine in and get a dozen oysters for $12! A neighborhood seafood restaurant with a family atmosphere. There are a lot of adults drinking at the bar, but there are also a lot of families with children at the tables. A restaurant with a comfortable atmosphere! The oysters are fresh! Another day at home. I ordered pick-up for a home party and had a delicious meal with my guests. My three daughters love the boardwalk style fries, popcorn shrimp, and crab dip.

Google
Great Father's Day. The crabs were hot. The drinks were definitely giving get a beer after I noticed the bartender open a book to make a house specialty drink. The atmosphere was lively and the patrons were super friendly.

Google
It conveniently located by the highway, you can see their sign when traveling on the route, the foods are amazingly good and fresh, as its name sake, you have to try their crabs, half dozens or dozen, with tools to Crack crab open, taking the time, making mess, their salads are fresh, crab cake, fried seafood platers are very good, there's on site bar, many seating places, parking is big enough, there are several business on this street strip, not far from a mall.

Google
Got the crab balls and zucchini fries. Yum! The crab balls are enough for one. They are very good, very meaty. The restaurant was clean and neat. The restrooms are very clean. If you are in the area, give them a try!

Second time there and writing a review because some people in the review are crazy. Yes you walk to the desk to place an order but both times we got the younger gentleman with black hair and glasses and he was more hospitable and professional than most adults I have come across. Everything ended in yes ma’am or yes sir. Boil and crab legs are amazing. Corn with the boil is amazing. The crab dip with bread can be put on anything it is so good. Food speed is a new record for me. Each time family of four we are waiting ten mins tops for it to come out. Place has “culture” for the culture and plenty of TVs for everyone to watch their game.

Google
My newest guilty pleasure! The food was so good, I came back the next day. Everything that I've had this far has not disappointed: crabs (not pictured), raw clams and oysters, boardwalk fries, hush puppies, sliders. Not only is the food, but the servers have all been pleasant. I can't wait for my next trip.

Toya K.

Yelp
Showed up in time for their Happy Hour specials and was not disappointed. I got the steamed shrimp, wings, and crab pretzel. I did get a side oh hush puppies, not on the HH menu but they were HH prices. I didn't get a drink but the friends that I was with raved about how good they were. The bar was full when we got there; however, the crowd increased as time went on. Everyone was extremely friendly and the waitresses were down to earth. The menu is extensive full of seafood and American food. I had a great time with friends.

Yelp
Group Happy Hour on a Thursday evening at 5:30. It is a casual eatery with lots of seating. It has good parking and that evening was great because it was not crowded. I order at the front and the food was delivered to my table. I ordered Steamed Shrimp and Buffalo Wings. The fries and drink were my neighbors. Everything tasted fresh and was well-seasoned. The Buffalo wings were extra spicy to me but so good! I like to think I can eat spicy but I really can't. I had a Cadillac Margarita and it was strong and good!(Yeah me!) The server was friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was very fun, carefree and carefree. This is a great spot for families or groups. I will definitely be returning again.

Yelp
You order then get a table number which makes it easy i suppose. The calamari was 3/5 it was not crispy enough. The crab cake sandwich was 4/5 high rating mainly because of the size and actual crab meat no filler. But it needed to be seasoned a little more. The whiting is strips and was amazing 5/5. I ordered a seafood boil bag with shrimp, scallops, 1crab leg cluster. They forgot my shrimp had to go up to get them to bring it. They brought it in a container without any seasoning. So had to throw it in my bag but the seasoning didn't really get into it because it was tossed in way later so it was bland. But the corn on the cob and potatoes and the seafood that actually came was amazing 10/10 the Cajun butter mild was tasty. It wasn't too crowded. It was clean and overall nice place. I would return for sure just hope they get better with completing orders.

Yelp
Food, service, and ambiance were all amazing!! This was my first time ever trying REAL Maryland crabs and the experience did not disappoint. The crabs were smaller but so sweet and I even loved the "mustard" ! I also ordered the garlic mussels, a dozen oysters, and an orange crush. All of these items were well prices and well made. There is a great happy hour here!!! I would absolutely come back & would definitely recommend this spot!

Vee L.

Yelp
The crab shack was a vibe I was not expecting. Most times, the patrons I encounter are regulars. In fact, by now, I'm probably a regular. Everyone is usually pretty friendly and open to conversation. I usually order the catfish sandwich, which is pretty good for the price. However, today I opted for the crabs. I ordered their last swamp dog. It was huge and pretty meaty. My husband enjoyed about half a dozen of the jumbos. The crabmeat tasted well prepared and seasoned and not watery. Also, when it comes to drinking at the bar if your bartender is Kristen or Ashley, you will be in good hands. On this particular day I ordered the shack tea(the blue drink next to the menu pic).

Derrick G.

Yelp
I have to take the time to give appreciation to one of my favorite spots to visit with my family. The Crab shack never disappoints me and my wife came here just for a nightcap, and we found out that they have Maryland crab even in the off-season. I wasn't sure of these were Louisiana crabs or actual Maryland crabs but they were delicious. Kristen was our bartender and server and she made sure we have everything we needed to have a relaxing night. I love an old fashioned drink but Kristen turned me on to the gold rush which was Quite similar. Me and my wife enjoyed the swamp dogs and jumbo crabs. I highly recommend making the trip to the crab shack.

Yelp
There's a menu when you walk in, but you order at the cashier in the back left corner. They'll give you a number and your food will be delivered to your table. All the employees were very friendly and helpful as it was our first time here. I ordered the 5oz Crab Cake Sandwich ($23) which was really good. It also comes with tartar sauce and was a perfect combo as this was my first time trying the crab cake. They also have a $8oz option for this sandwich. My husband got the lobster roll ($23) which was also good too but tasted like it was frozen. Overall, the pricing was fair and was a good experience. Can't wait to come back and try other food items!

Yelp
This was our first time visiting the Crab Shack Crofton, after driving by for years. Excited, we entered to an almost empty restaurant with the exception of the patrons at the bar. There was no hostess and a sign for us to seat ourselves so we did, glanced at the menu & placed our orders. Side note: The inside of this facility is HUGE with outdoor seating and a private dining area as well. I ordered the crab & lobster melt, with French fries. The wife ordered the 8oz crab cake entree. We placed our orders at 5:10pm, our son's order arrived at: 5:20pm, mine at 5:22pm, and my Wife's crab cake came out at 5:24pm. The lobster/crab melt was good, but it wasn't special. It was one of those meals that I wouldn't mind having again, but would probably never go out of my way to order it again, if that makes sense. The crab cake was really good & it had nice jumbo lump crab meat & not a lot of filler. We both didn't enjoy the potato salad, so I took a point away for that & the lack of outstanding service. That said, I'd come back again, and I'm glad to finally check this spot off my checklist.

Ry' W.

Yelp
For $40, they're skimping out on what they give you. Half pound of crabs include 2 small clusters of legs -- I only got one. There's barely any sauce in the bag and the potatoes aren't cooked through. Go to Crab Galley or somewhere else.

Lj S.

Yelp
This place is reasonably priced for a seafood place. The cream of crab soup can contend with any soup. I've tasted. The service is friendly and fast and I have not had any bad food there whatsoever.

Michelle Y.

Yelp
Was craving seafood, had driven past this place many times so let's see.... Open floor plan with basic seating-- wooden tables, wooden chairs, well lit, and several mounted tvs for customers to enjoy while dining. Was immediately greeted and welcomed upon entering by who I later identified as a manager. He was very knowledgeable and patient as I dissected the menu and placed my takeout order. No frills here- if you are eating in, head to the register, place your order and pick a seat. I placed a to-go order and sat comfortably enjoying the aroma of fresh cooked food while waiting. Food: Catfish sandwich was pretty good with the slaw and sauce. Slaw by itself is bland as were the fries. Whiting platter was average. Jerk shrimp were pretty good, nice flavor. Should add a lemon slice on the side. Fresh brewed unsweetened Iced tea had good flavor. Overall, a pretty good meal. Will return and eat in, and try other menu items.

Thomas S.

Yelp
Place my order food came out all wrong Service was slow & not thoughtful Don't ever TIP until you receive your FOOD. I was missing my shrimp in my order , told cashier provided her with receipt. She was so busy training it took 30 minutes to get my shrimp. I won't visit here again.

Laura H.

Yelp
Food was either flavorless or overly seasoned. Service was good, employees were helpful and attentive. Laid back, Casual place. Shrimp were over cooked. Fried oysters, tasted like they were plucked from the ocean, battered, and thrown straight in the fryer, and into a basket. Crab and Lobster Melt, although toasted, very dry and deceiving, almost like a crouton. Mexican Street Corn was the only pleasing item we ordered.

E S.

Yelp
Not sure why they have negative reviews. My family and I went during happy hour and ordered a variety of food. Everything was fresh and the server was friendly. We had the crab pretzel, grilled wings, oysters, garlic mussels and calamari. The drinks are amazing and they are NOT shy about making them strong. Overall we will be back!

Jenny T.

Yelp
Order and pay at counter. They bring out food pretty quickly. Decent pricing. Large space and lots of seats, medium noise level. Crabs were nice and meaty and steamed well, we got large and XL. Crab place down the street was out of everything except small so we came here and glad we did. Lots of beer on tap. Hush puppies and honey butter were good. Sweet potato fries were crispy and flaky. Got the clam and shrimp boil with a sausage - it was okay- not enough sauce in my opinion but it was cooked well. Better than I expected based on Yelp reviews so was pleasantly surprised and would probably come back again.

Monique H.

Yelp
Spacious Cool Attentive server Great bartender The Food: lack flavor but presentation was good.. the garlic mussels was just over steamed mussels in juice. No flavor at all and pretty chewy. Grilled Wings: great grilled flavor but I ordered lemon pepper and there was little to no lemon pepper on them. Glad I only ordered 6. I requested additional lemon pepper seasoning he brought out what looked like the sauce from the mussels with some fry lemon pepper seasoning in it. Still didn't taste like lemon pepper. I brought them home to eat with my own lemon pepper seasoning. Popcorn Shrimp: wasn't horrible wasn't great in flavor but was freshly fried Steamed Shrimp: was good Overall the food is a tad bit over priced for what you get. On top of that.. Condensation dripped into my drink from the air duct above. I was over it Drinks were solid and decently priced

Dani G.

Yelp
Confusion on what size crabs they have! Continuously changes, one minute they have jumbo then they were out, they had x-large then they were out but oh the truck came in so we have large nope we out! And the manager did zero to compensate. Lastly, you have to ask for everything, bucket, crackers and when I asked for wet wipes they came out in the servers hand. Do you have any in the package?--oh they all dried out! Don't waste your time please!

Vivian R.

Yelp
There was no real sign or server to explain what to do. We walked in, it was busy another customer explained we could sit wherever but we have to go up to order our food. So one area for ordering food and another for ordering drinks. They don't sell wine by the bottle which makes to quite annoying to continuously go back up and stand in a line for another beverage. The food in my opinion is overpriced, but I guess that's how most things are these days. I rather get my steamed boiled bags at Pier 99 or red crab house at least they serve you and staff there far more pleasant and helpful than this place.

Slim G.

Yelp
if you could give this place a -5 stars this is what they would get. nothing but the fountain soda was good. Crabs are over cooked and tasteless and sauces on the boils are flavorless and nasty. stand clear and choice a different place!!! This is not it at all save your money and time.

Danielle G.

Yelp
The place had plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The waitress met us at the door promptly and instructed us to seat wherever we'd like. We went to counter, where the team decided who "was going to get their money" so others can stop complaining about not getting orders. They were not sure if the sausage would come whole or cut. The crab was not very spicy and the liquid seemed a little too clear to be flavorful, but I was pleasantly surprised, but it did get cold pretty quick so you have to move fast. Maybe they could split the bags into one pound bags so your food stays hotter longer. We had to ask for a bucket, crackers, bibs, and gloves. These items should have been provided in the beginning without asking. I was also confused with pricing. It's seems like the boil crab is priced $8 more than the non-boil price and not sure there is a $8 difference.

Scott M.

Yelp
I was very happy with the food and service I received from the Crab Shack in Crofton. What I really loved about it is the freshness of the food. Plus, the Crab Shack's customer service is spot on. I felt welcomed by their team. Atmosphere is chill and cool but the staff is also really friendly. They know what they're doing and what they're talking about, and you can tell making the customers happy is their main priority. Food is pretty good, some Southern classics and some twists, and for their prices it's 100% worth it. We had the catfish sandwich with fries and The catfish combo meal with fries and coleslaw. We also got some complementary hush puppies down in the deal. The catfish is fresh crisp very flavorful. Very simple batter makes it very southern, appears to be a corn meal mix with some special spices. The fries are just like those you'd find in Ocean City at that place that begins with a T. The coleslaw was fair, not a lot of flavor but still better than most places around. All in all the food is delicious, a very eclectic menu, I can't wait to come back. Also the key lime pie is to die for, it is made in the house fresh daily I could live off of that by itself. Give this place a shot they are doing limited indoor seating.

Candice H.

Yelp
I've been going here a lot since I moved to the area. Crab soup definitely, shacktea with the right bartender a definite try. Happy hour is the way to go here.

Kim C.

Yelp
Restaurant was clean and inviting we were able to sit ourselves but we had to stand in line to order then stand in a separate line to place drink order. The drink line wait times was ridiculously long the bartender was serving too many people so our wait time was long to just order a drink. The crabs were just okay not great first order of steamed shrimp were not done, had to send them back.

Margaret D.

Yelp
We stopped here on our way from Virginia to Pennsylvania. Service was fast and great. Everyone working there had a smile and was helpful. I has the crab soup which I liked, and my friend had the coconut shrimp which turned out to be a huge order at a reasonable price. No complaints about the Key Lime Pie. We are going to make this place our mid point stop on future Pa to VA trips.

Lakesia P.

Yelp
If you want a mediocre seafood boil and poor customer service this is the place to go. The flavor of their sauce was very basic and tasted like something I could've cooked at home myself. On top of that, I cut my hand when I went to sit in a broken bar stool. The bartender was very helpful and but I can't say the same for the manager on duty. She was very dismissive about the entire incident. There wasn't an apology or acknowledgment of the fact that I hurt myself while in their establishment. I will never return or recommend the restaurant to anyone.

Brittany H.

Yelp
Did someone say Crabs ALL YEAR ROUND?! I love this place super lowkey, divey almost but definitely for a seafood lover! Everything here is delicious from the hushpuppies to crab broils to the cocktails. Only suggestion if you have a special sauce bring it! They have weird butter (why its not 5 stars) so we order a side of lemon butter to compensate for what is given. This place definitely isnt for service as you place your order at the counter and you are left alone after delivery. But you dont need much here, everything is at your table!

Mark H.

Yelp
Great time last night 2/9/24 they took care of us with no problems 17 people ages 1 to the reason for the gathering my 60th and wife's 59th birthdays, service was fantastic, all the food was plenty, expensive but what isn't these days? Crushes were good beer was cold! Crab cakes I had were delicious, wife loved lobster roll, we had a little of everything, plenty of large televisions all around for sport's etc Keno is available etc we will be back to try crabs when they are in season and hopefully a little cheaper, see you soon Crab Shack

David S.

Yelp
Cool place. But here's the major problem. Every time we get Maryland hard shell crabs to go from The Crab Shack, they are way over cooked. To the point where the meat inside the body is like a paste. Way over cooked. If they took a couple minutes off of their cook time, it would be perfect. I can't be the only person to have noticed this. Not going back there if they continue to cook their crabs to the point of ruining them. Now. I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt and consider that possibly the crabs continue to cook inside the shell when you're driving them home, so, knowing that, The Crab Shack should reduce cook time for their to-go orders. Because they definitely continue to cook inside the shell inside the to-go bag. It's not rocket science. The few times that I have eaten inside the restaurant, all the has been pretty good. the service is good. Until they get it together with the over cooking issue with the crabs, I will not be spending hundreds of dollars per order on crabs to go. Just not happening.

Erik P.

Yelp
The crab balls were very over cooked and the crab dip had so little crab & even seasoning in it. If we didn't generally like this place so much we would have rated this experience even lower.

Russell J.

Yelp
Great seafood spot in Crofton. We ordered Cream of Crab, a Crab Cake, and Coconut Shrimp. All were delicious and came out hot and fresh. The crab cake seemed a little overpriced at $24, we felt at that price, it should have had 2 sides, not just 1. Other than that, a great experience.

Crystal L.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I have been trying to dine in for happy hour w/ this place for months, but because they didn't have their liq license for half a year, we settled for take out most visits. Each time i get the crabs. So far i have had the crabs 5 times - with high hopes each times. The first 2 times the crabs weren't the best, the next two the crabs were actually pretty good; today they were OK. I have high hopes for the next visit!! My boyfriend got the jambalaya which he thought was fine. Previous times he got catfish basket.. which was also fine. I will visit again, hopefully my crabs are great like they were a few times back. I look forward to dining in soon

Christal D.

Yelp
It's OK! Nothing fancy about this spot. You walk in someone greets you and tells you that you can sit wherever you'd like, it's open seating at picnic tables. You have the option to order and pay at your table or go to the register and order and get a number and someone will bring your food out to your table. They have a soda cooler in the far corner of the restaurant for you to get your drinks and also fountain drinks as well. THE FOOD: We had a Shrimp Po'Boy, crab balls cream of crab soup and wings with fries. Everything was great. The service was great, customer service was pleasant and helpful and friendly. They're expected to have alcohol in the future so that will be a plus. I hope that in the future that will consider changing the order process because it's a bit muddled.

Ms Tooth F.

Yelp
i only got the hush puppies, but they were great. Nice & moist with lots of flavor! Thanks!

Andrew J.

Yelp
We have been to this restaurant about 4 times. We have never eaten inside of the restaurant, and always taken food to go. The crabs are always great and seasoned well. The shrimp and chicken jambalaya is average. I would recommend a tad more seasoning and spice as jambalaya is a classic West African creole dish. If you don't like spice I would recommend it and you may love it. The fried catfish is also amazing and fried to perfection. The catfish are not full filets, they are more like strips. I would still recommend the catfish if you are looking for a fried fish option. Overall the food is good and I would still recommend it for nice seafood. The menu gives you many different options to choose from.

Trinity S.

Yelp
Hardworking staff and they have a huge dining room. They have great food throughout the week. The one thing people should realize about this place they offer great breakfast on Saturday and Sunday. Great priced. Try them.

Jordan S.

Yelp
Haven't had a lot of boil bags but this really put me on. My family loves this place so I tried it for the first time. Hush puppies were delicious and sweet plus it comes with a honey/mayo sauce? Tried it out together and it was so tasty. The boil bags you choose 2-3+ things to go inside (I chose shrimp and scallops), a flavor (Cajun butter), and spice (medium). It comes with potatoes and corn and this is so good I finished the whole thing. Great place to treat yourself with really good seafood.

Claire K.

Yelp
Had the delicious, packed-with-crab Maryland Crab Soup. Best part was our order of large, heavily seasoned steamed crabs. We needed to take a dozen on the road with us to eat later and Dominic hooked us up with plenty of ice and tips to keep the cooked crabs fresh until we could heat them up tonight. Will definitely be back!

Sonya C.

Yelp
I am a huge seafood eater! I'm pretty sure I can eat blue crabs every single day. No need to even ask me what I want for dinner. Biggest issue--expense. I visited this restaurant twice last month. Both times were an enjoyable experience. Pros: The menu is extensive. Everyone in a big party can find something they want including non-seafood eaters. Everything from crabs to lobster to chicken wings --from the grill. You know, a real grilled flavor wing as if from the backyard grill. Yum! Strange phenomenon that happened twice. Not once but twice: The crowd will change from majority Blk to majority wht, then back to majority Blk throughout the same visit. I'm so serious. I watched this odd occurrence happen twice. No biggie now that I know I'm still safe. You know when little kids just stare at you, even when you smile at them, their folks don't deal with "my kind." However, this is a pro because it seems all like it there and no one bothered us at all. Perhaps it's the area? Anyway, it didn't affect the overall experience. You can walk in and pick your seating, then go up to one register to place and pay for your food order. You get a number to put on your table. Once done, go to the second register by the bar to place your drink order. The steamed shrimp are large and delicious. They have a happy hour food menu with 7 large shrimp for $7. A little high but some other items are priced more decently. They are good with their food seasonings. Cons: There isn't a happy hour drink menu. There is a weekday drink special menu but not on weekends. The crabs are inaccurately sized as most places now try to do. Like I can't see. But ok. Large is definitely medium. And these two times during April, the crabs were light and a few empty. For the high price, that's unacceptable. You're going to pay over $100 for just 12. When did this become acceptable anywhere?! I asked one girl at the register, who by the way wanted me to pick my size BEFORE she would tell me the prices (huh?) were they heavy. Doe doe bird said they couldn't do that because they are measured tip to tip. I'm still trying to figure out why she couldn't guess from holding them. This last visit my crabs were small and mushy. I'm not sure if that's from over or under cooking. I got a little disgusted by about the fourth one. Again, for the price...Either way, if they were prepared better the seasoning would render them very tasty. Paying for your food and drinks from two areas only a couple of feet apart is a pain. I guess it depends on how much you want it though. Overall, the servers are friendly and it's a come as you are vibe. I meant to tell you to try the lobster tail and scallops!! Buttery and tasty. I like the place really but they must do something about lowering their prices when their crabs are smaller. Just because you slap a large or extra large label on them doesn't make it so -- or worthy! And for $145 per dozen, that's ri-damn-diculous!

Juanita T.

Yelp
I really love the location, the environment. They could do better on customer service when greeting and letting customers know how to order. Food was great, so much better than Jerry's seafood.

Mike D.

Yelp
Great Value! You order yourself and staff brings to your table. Full bar service too. Fun place for the kids.

Katya W.

Yelp
While visiting MD over the weekend I stopped in to this restaurant only because Fat Boys Crabhouse was closed. Plus I enjoy trying a new restaurant but I am sorry to say I really do not have very positive feedback. The best thing about this restaurant is the staff. They are extremely friendly and pleasant. So one of my * goes to them. The food needs lots of help. We ordered the scallops, 1lb of crab cluster, oysters and 8oz crabcake. 5 tasteless, bland scallops for $14 were not good at all. The oysters were horribly shucked. Oyster shell chips were everywhere. The crablegs tasted like they had been sitting for a while. Old and overcooked. The seasoning applied to crablegs were too salty and just not good. The butter to dip the crab tasted like movie theater butter for popcorn. The crabcake was decent. Full of meaty lump crab. So my other * goes to the crab cake. They do not have their liquor license yet so that was disappointing but not a deal breaker. I hope with time, the food gets better. But I would not return until I see consistent 4 and 5 star reviews.

Savannah J.

Yelp
I've ordered from here a few times and have gotten a seafood boil twice (I think they call them Cajun boils). The first boil was good. Two nice size potatoes, a good portion of shrimp and scallops (I got half a pound for each), I had no complaints. However the second time made me not want to go order from here ever again. If you put the two potatoes together, they would've fit inside a standard egg with room to spare. Also this time I only got four scallops. I'm not sure what scale they use but I've ordered half a pound of scallops before from here and other places and it's never been just four. One top of that I could get a fuller boil for cheaper at places closer to me. I thought this place was over priced after a sandwich and fries cost $30-$35 (I can't remember how much exactly) but it was worth it because it tasted like quality but now I lowkey think they're just out here scamming people. They have pretty good fries though.

Jacquelyn M.

Yelp
Nice seafood spot. The inside has options of sitting at a bar, table with chairs or a picnic table. There are no servers. You go to the bar to order any alcoholic drinks and bring them back to your table and then you go up to the main counter to place your food order. They give you a number to put on your table and food is brought out to you. I got one of their seafood boils - clams, shrimp and crab with the Cajun flavoring. The food itself was good but I thought there could have been a little more seasoning used. Overall it was great. You can easily spend a lot of money in here if you like seafood.

Yelp
When you walk in there's no sign stating to seat yourself. This being our first time, we stood there for several minutes looking crazy. Finally we were to seat yourself, when ready to order then go to the register and place your order. We initially sat inside but the smell of old mop water turned us off so we opted to sit outside. We both ordered the boils. Mine was crab legs, shrimp, potato, corn and sausage in a mild Cajun butter. The sauce lacked flavor. The sausage was an add on and i didn't even like the taste. I was disappointed they didn't cut my sausage and corn. Because there are no assigned servers, EVERY TIME we needed something I had to get up, go inside and locate someone. Oh...we were going to get 6 whole crab but they were $65 and they were small! Two stars is generous seeing how there wasn't anything that stood out at this place.

Yelp
Went in with mediocre expectations with my whole family, but ended up pleasantly surprised. Crab Shack hit all my buttons. Great service, cleanliness, fat crabs and amazing sides. We were greeted and seated right away, treated like family as soon as we walked in. The staff made us feel comfortable right away and explained the menu. We got delicious drinks right away, even with the crowd. Our group got a dozen heavy crabs with all the fixens, corn, soup, and salads. All amazing. The crab cake was one of the best we've had, all jumbo lump. Sides were all hot and fresh, salad was cold and fresh as well. Can't wait to come back. Value 9/10. Service 10/10. Atmosphere 9/10. Taste 9.5/10.

Yelp
I tried the seafood platter for dinner this evening at the Crab Shack in Crofton at 450/Rt3. The cod was lightly breaded and cooked to perfection. The butterfly shrimp were huge, crunchy and scrumptious. The fried oysters were totally awesome. I was also provided with a large helping of outstanding coleslaw. Going back again soon! The atmosphere was very pleasant and I was able to pick up my favorite beer at their attached liquor store on my way out.

Yelp
I was unsure what to expect. It's a nice atmosphere for casual dining. The black and blue salad is delish. My Cajun broil was good. The garlic butter sauce was delish. I didn't get it with much spice and I am totally happy with my choice. I will come back.
