"This Irish pub in Downtown serves all the best fare from the British Isles, including bangers and mash, Shepherd’s pie, Scotch eggs, fish and chips, a traditional Irish breakfast, and international variations on Irish favorites like the corned beef and cabbage rolls that look something like a deep fried egg roll. It stocks a large selection of domestic craft beers and some international standbys, all best enjoyed on the outdoor patio." - Courtney E. Smith, Alaena Hostetter

"This Irish pub serves up some of the best shepherd’s pie in town, with lamb, beef, carrots and mashed potatoes served up with fresh brown bread and a house salad. Looking to nap away the afternoon? Order the traditional Irish bread pudding, served on Jameson custard with cream." - Allison Castloo

We stumbled upon the Crafty Irishman Public House while on a walk in downtown Dallas. The menu posted outside looked great, so we tried a few things. Nothing disappointed and it would be easy to go back a few times to try new things. We started with the Scotch Eggs, which were great. The sauce it's served on was delicious. Drinks were good, the curry was tasty although a little sweet for my taste. The beef and lamb was saucy and tasty and even the Caesar salad was perfect in size and taste. We were so full, but came back later that night to try their bread pudding. Jameson custard? Yes, please! I liked it because it didn't have an overwhelming alcohol taste that some puddings have. It had apples and raisins in it, but was made so well that you couldn't really tell a difference texture-wise. Service was friendly both times we went.

Amazing food!! Parking is a pain. Small area with lots of drink options. My friends and I ordered the cabbage and corned beef rolls. They are egg rolls that taste amazing. The cheese curds were delicious. There was a spicy kick to it, which made them better. We also ordered the tomato basil and baked potato soup. Comes with brown bread that is so soft. Both soups were great. The main dishes I came for were the scotch eggs and fish and chips. Scotch eggs were soft with runny eggs cooked to perfection. Best I've had. The fish and chips were to die for. To end the dinner, we ordered bread pudding. I can't even describe how soft and delicious that was. Everything was fresh and hot. When I say I'm glad I live so far away from this place, or I'd be so fat from eating there every day. Definitely recommend this place!

Small Irish pub in downtown! We didn't eat, just stopped in for a few drinks post dinner, and this is a nice little place! Good atmosphere with a wide range of drinks available. One of the girls kept checking in on us to keep our drinks flowing which was appreciated! This was a great choice for us as the music wasn't too loud so we could catch up with some friends that we met up with.

In town for a tournament and ran across this little gem down the street from where we were staying. Wow, we couldn't be more satisfied with the food service and atmosphere. Everything was one-point! Excellent selection of Irish whiskey, Scotch, Bourbons and local beers. The fish and chips where tremendous, the batter wasn't thick and greasy just perfect, Scotch eggs were great. The locals were talkative and friendly, couldn't ask for a better downtown pub... We'll definitely be back .... For the fish and chips of course .. 💯

The Crafty Irishman 🇮🇪 lives up to its name with its authentic Irish ☘️ atmosphere and delicious cuisine. Today, I indulged in the Castletown, also known as the "Reuben" sandwich, paired with a side of fries 🍟. The hearty combination of savory corned beef, tangy sauerkraut, melted Swiss cheese 🧀, and creamy Thousand Island dressing between slices of toasted rye bread was a delightful taste of tradition. The fries were perfectly crisp and seasoned, rounding out the meal nicely. This Irish pub is a must-visit for anyone craving classic comfort food with a Celtic twist. Cheers to a satisfying dining experience! 🍻

For starters, it was a treat to walk into a bar for lunch to find out they had several non alcoholic beer options. The food was great. Fish and chips had the biggest piece of fish. Like larger than my head and was tasty, fresh, and crispy. Fried crunchy, scotch eggs were perfectly cooked and had good flavor. The cabbage rolls were seriously bomb. My bangers weren’t as bangin but they had okay flavor. The gravy and mash were great though and the sauces on the appetizers were a delight.

Google
My first time eating at The Crafty Irishman and it did not disappoint. I’m vegetarian so it’s not always easy to find something to eat downtown. I live next door to this establishment and decided to give it a try and just do a pick up. I had the Happy Cow (plant based burger) coleslaw, fries, and the Flourless Chocolate Cake. The burger was not only one of the most delicious plant based burger I’ve ever had, but the fresh tomatoes, lettuce, mushrooms and the red bell pepper aioli sent it over the edge. I did opt for their house bun instead of the rice bun and it was super fluffy. The coleslaw was spectacular, not sure what the dressing was, but it wasn’t a reg slaw dressing like that fake slaw goop you see. This dressing was light, faintly sweet, almost like a sweet vinaigrette. I could eat that slaw everyday. And saving the best for last was the uber decadent flourless chocolate cake. If a dark chocolate Lindt Truffle could be a cake this would be it. Not too sweet, dark chocolate cocoa taste, served w a homemade sweet cream and the most delicious ice cream I have ever tasted in my life. I need to call them back and ask it it’s homemade…It’s that good. Was totally not disappointed at all and will definitely eat there again and inside. When I walked in, it has a very homey Irish pub feel, with friendly waitstaff and TVs to watch your fav sports. If you are in the area stop by and try The Crafty Irishman Public House out!

LOVE! LOVE! LOVE This Place! The food was unbelievable. The server Connor was so sweet, friendly and offered amazing service. It was the best Tomato Soup Ive ever had. One of the best chicken sandwiches too. I mean everything was incredible. Almost like gourmet bar food. To top it off, it was SUPER affordable- two full meals plus a bowl of tomato soup and a beer was $53. Can’t wait to come back again and again!

Yelp
Happy Cow + Sweet Potato Fries: This burger hit the spot after a long day of minimal airport food The sweet potato fries were fried to perfection and seasoned with the right amount of salt. Also the burger was a pleasant surprise--I got the regular (non gluten free) bun instead of the gf bun the comes with the meal. Definitely recommend these two menu items Our waiter was super sweet and helpful with questions:) The atmosphere was lively with people at happy hour as well!

Yelp
It's a very typical Irish pub. Nothing overly mind blowing nor terrible. Our waitress was efficient, but wouldn't call her overly friendly but did her job well. She answered any question you had and was attentive. The food itself was above average IMO. We had some wings, nachos and other items. All were good and better than expected. The inside itself is fairly small, maybe 8 tables plus a middle section. It definitely for smaller groups under 4 as they have 1, maybe 2, spots that can accommodated groups large than that. Overall, it's a solid choice if you are in the area.

Yelp
We fell in love with the craft Irishman. Very lively atmosphere. Loooove the live music, great service, good food, cold drinks. We almost didn't want to leave. The Galway Bay Mussels is a MUST try. It was so good. The mussels perfectly cooked and that creamy broth......yummy! The Dublin Double is another thing to try, especially if you're hungry because it is huge. I didn't think I would ever describe a burger as pretty, but this one is too pretty to eat. They offer military discount too, by the way. We will be back!

Yelp
Came in for a volleyball tournament and was thrilled to find an Irish Pub near the hotel! Most times we have found an Irish Pub they always have texmex and a lot of English food there. This place had wonderful Irish options with a side of chicken wings It's a smaller pub so huge crowds might be split and it is open seating. They have a nice outside area if you are into people watching. The love music put a smile on my husband's face and after fighting Dallas traffic he needed that! The options for beer is wide, and he had 2!! The food is great and authentic! My daughter didn't care for the Shepard pie (said mine was better ) but I don't use lamb so... My monte Cristo was superb and huge! Had to take half of it to go. I can't tell you about the bangers and mash as my husband didn't even offer me any. We are, hopefully, going to stop by again this weekend!

Yelp
Delicious authentic Irish dishes. My wife and I were in Dallas and saw the flag of Ireland so headed to the restaurant. We found The Crafty Irishman and were immediately transported to Ireland. Once I saw Shepherds Pie on the menu I knew what I was going to order. It was so good with the right amount of lamb and sauce to go along with mashed potatoes. My wife ordered her go to Fish and Chips and loved it. We had a great meal with excellent service. The restaurant felt like an Irish pub with high rise tables, bar and floor seating.

Yelp
For a festive Saint Patrick's Day lunch, my parents and I visited The Crafty Irishman, and it was a great choice! Located in the heart of downtown Dallas, the pub offers a cozy atmosphere and a taste of Ireland. Parking can be found parallel off of Main Street, making it convenient to access. Upon entering, you seat yourself, and a server will come by to attend to you. We were delighted to find that The Crafty Irishman had a bagpipes player performing Irish tunes, adding to the festive spirit of the holiday. I ordered the shepherd's pie, and it was absolutely delicious. The hearty dish was served with a side salad, which was a nice touch. To add to the festive cheer, I also enjoyed a green beer, which was a fun nod to the holiday. Overall, The Crafty Irishman is a charming pub with great food, friendly service, and a lively atmosphere. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or just looking for a taste of Ireland in Dallas, this pub is definitely worth a visit.

Yelp
I'm so thankful this place was open past 11pm. Looking to decompress after work, I posted up at the bar and ordered a Bells Two Hearted IPA. This is notoriously a whiskey bar, but I wasn't in the mood. Got the Corned Beef & Cabbage Special that wasn't advertised on the menu, but this was kinda disappointing. The cabbage was honestly the best part. Had fun chatting with other travelers at the bar. Bartenders mostly kept to themselves. Chill pub overall to visit late night for food and drink.

Katie F.

Yelp
These were the BEST fish and chips I've ever had - my jaw dropped by the size of the fish. The restaurant had a great atmosphere with great service. They also have an amazing happy hour M-F 2-7 with discounted apps and drinks. Totally recommend especially the fish and chips!!!

Hannah D.

Yelp
My husband and I have been here a few times now for a quick drink and a snack and have had a great experiences each time! We love the chill ambiance and the friendly staff. Service is always good, even when they're busy. Good drink variety of beers and cocktails, and we've enjoyed the food as well. The scotch eggs, cheese curds and cod sandwich were all delicious! Definitely recommend for a good Irish pub experience!

Tia O.

Yelp
I got a Cesar salad and mango habanero wings. The salad was a typical tasty Cesar salad. The wings were not good at all. They weren't crispy and had no flavor even with the mango habanero sauce. And they were a tad undercooked so i couldn't finish all of them. I would not return.

Yelp
I really try to be objective with my reviews. I don't tend to feel as though posting a review of anything separate of "5" or "1" makes sense. Either you loved it enough to get it credit, or hated it so much that you don't want anyone else to suffer the way you did. Not today Satan! Well, this is our 2nd time coming to this Irish Pub. We had too many cocktails throughout the night at nearby speakeasy to honestly write anything. So, I withheld my review until tonight. Here are the pros and cons: Pros: Service is really good! We had two different servers for both times we came, and I have to give 5 stars for both times. Both servers were very communicative and helpful with the menu and suggestions. Great service is very difficult to find nowadays. Food quality was excellent. We started with the scotch eggs which were delicious. The first time I had scotch eggs were in London during Burns week. I've felt as though those were the best I ever had...until tonight. These were as good if not better than those. Next, we had the Shepherds Pie. It was tasty, but I'm not a Shepherds Pie fan. It was good though. I had the Oh my Cod fish sandwich with fries. This was delicious! Probably the best fish sandwich I've ever had. The bread was soft...the fish was so tasty...the spicy ranch was flavorful. Honestly...you have to try this. Cons: Parking sucks. However, it's downtown Dallas on a Saturday night. If you aren't prepared for it, then don't complain about it. I knew what I was getting into when I exited Good Latimer lol. I can't really say anything bad about this location. Service matters a lot to me, and they really hit the mark here. Food was what I needed in my life. The beers were great, too!

Lorri D.

Yelp
Whenever I'm in Dallas I must go to the craft Irishman for Scottish eggs! These eggs are authentic and so yummy! I always walk in thinking I am ordering a beer, eggs and an entree..:inevitably I get the beer and the eggs and am full, I want to try some entrees but I cannot pass up the eggs. Great service, beer selection and a hose eggs!!

Judy S.

Yelp
Food was just ok. Definitely geared towards bar side. Service was slow. Very small eating area.

Whitney T.

Yelp
This place was so much fun. The menu has something for everyone, and seems like authentic Irish fare. Fabulous flavors and it came out quickly. Our server was pleasant despite her seeming very busy. Overall, the experience was very nice and worth the cost.

Rachael M.

Yelp
Wonderful food, cocktails, and service! We had the Dublin Double and the Monte Cristo with a Pineapple Cosmo. We'll definitely be back!

Courtney H.

Yelp
10/10 for service. Our waiter was fantastic. It has a local Irish bar feel. It was much smaller than we thought it would be which is as no big deal. It was a nice walk from the Sheraton hotel which was good. We had the scotch eggs and fish and chips. Both were really good but not out of this world. My picture only has 2 scotch eggs but we actually got 4. The half portion of fish and chips is one huge piece of cod. Overall, I would recommend.

Patricia Z.

Yelp
Love the fact they had a vegan option which is super difficult when being away from home, however, the recipe can be tweaked. Shepards pie should not taste like spaghetti sauce. Presentation always makes food taste better as well!

Xanthe P.

Yelp
The service by Jeff was excellent. We were in a hurry so he recommended the spicy cheese curds and the corned beef and cabbage egg rolls. Both were really tasty. I think the cheese in the rolls was a cheese wiz type or American cheese food stuff but they were tasty because it was not overwhelming. In my opinion, a nice Swiss would be a better choice. Good beer and cocktail selection!

Katrina V.

Yelp
The Crafty Irishman was recommended to us by our hotel's front desk staff, and they did not disappoint. The place became our late night spot for two nights in a row. We stopped by The Crafty Irishman on a Tuesday night around 10:30pm, and I was shocked to find how lively it was. I attributed it to being that there were a few NHL games on TV. The pub was pretty busy, but we were able to snag the last indoor corner table. The Crafty Irishman had a good selection of beers. I zeroed in on the Yuengling on tap, which was my drink for the entire night. I had the pleasure of trying a few things off the menu including their wings, sweet potato fries, and fish & chips. On the first night, we ordered 10 wings split into two flavors: spicy Asian and lemon pepper. The spicy Asian was no joke, and that's coming from someone with high spice tolerance. The lemon pepper flavor was spot on although I did find these wings to be on the saltier side. I absolutely LOVED their sweet potato fries. Loved them so much that I got them two nights in a row. I had the fish & chips as my entree for night two. The beer batter was thick and crispy, and the fish was flaky and cooked well. Lastly, staff was consistently great. We had different servers every night, but both were attentive, friendly, and helpful.

Rick J.

Yelp
This place was great. The bartender and a patron took me under their wing and suggested the fish & chips and Scottish eggs and they were both amazing. When in downtown Dallas, check it out. Actually went back one more time on the trip

Lisa B.

Yelp
This was the most wonderful place. Authentic Irish pub and food. Burgers were juicy and made exactly medium to rare as we asked. Huge beer selection. Nice atmosphere. But the star was the scotch eggs. OMG. They were soooo tasty and the egg was perfectly done. And the creamy mustard sauce was first rate. I could eat these every day!!!!

Sara L.

Yelp
We stopped in here after a show at the Majestic around the corner. They had a great draft selection including ciders which are my preference. The food was delicious and their kitchen is open until midnight on Friday night so it was helpful because we were hungry after the show. The guys behind the bar were great and the atmosphere was really fun. We probably could have stayed for a while and enjoyed a few pints. We'll be sure to be back next time we're in town.

Cheryl L.

Yelp
The scotch eggs and the starter cabbage and beef were amazing! Definitely coming back!

Kelsey E.

Yelp
The fish sandwich was fabulous and my husband really enjoyed the shepherds pie. The drinks were delicious too . Service was great too!

Shiloh W.

Yelp
The vibe, service and overall experience was great. We had pretzels as well as their chicken and both we really good. I don't live in Texas but I'd definitely go back

Kim R.

Yelp
We ended up going here because the place that we originally wanted to go to was closing and I didn't want to make a last minute order. Upon entering the place was pretty crowded, but we got lucky and was able to find a table in the middle of the bar. The server came over quickly and asked up if we'd like to start with something to drink while we looked over the menu. She was very friendly and quickly went and got our drink orders. When she returned we were ready to order. We started with Corned Beef and Cabbage Rolls. Not at all what I was expecting, and I wasn't really a fan. It was more like an egg roll with corned beef and cabbage in it. I was thinking it was just a cabbage roll with corned beef in it. My boyfriend said that they were good, and the server even said that they are a favorite of a lot of people. So, if you like that kind of thing, give them a try. You may like them. For my meal, I ordered the fish and chips. The fish was light and flaky, and cooked perfectly. It was very good, and also HUGE. One piece of fish was plenty for me. I even had some leftover. The fries were also good. They even had malt vinegar on the table to go with the fish. All and all, it was very good and I would order again for sure. The take away for me was the service. It was one of the friendliest experiences that I've had in awhile. So, no matter if you're going to eat, or just to belly up to the bar for a few drinks. This place will fit the bill.

James C.

Yelp
Found this little emerald a block away from the hotel I was staying at. It's only negative and maybe not for all is that is isn't that big of a spot if you have a large group or go during busy hours. The Irish food was spot on & tap was ice cold. The bartender was attentive but not intrusive. I had the scotch eggs & a fried cod sandwich. Both we delightful. The cod was huge and came w fries. Crafty Irishman, you built something special - In!

Breanna T.

Yelp
Not even exaggerating this was the best burgers Ive had in a long time. It was so juicy and full of flavor. Even the fries was so good and fresh. It was very convenient cause it was open at 12am! Nice little bar to get some food food from. I def will be back.

Donovan S.

Yelp
Man this place is tha ! The fish and chips was cooked perfectly and the spicy cheese curds were fantastic! My half and half was poured to a tee (see photo), and the service was great: fast and friendly. The prices are quite reasonable and I had a couple wings off my friend's plate and the pepper wings were very tasty. What a hidden Dallas !

Christina B.

Yelp
Well, after moving my brother into his new place, we wandered over to the Irish pub. It was a great choice! Emma was amazing, she explained to us what the specialities on the house were, and we tried them all... And now we're planning on going back and trying the things that we didn't try. But the Irish coffee was kick ass. The froth on top had Baileys in it and the bottom had good Irish whiskey. My brother loved his black and tan... But how do you go wrong with that? For appetizers we had the Scottish eggs which we were too busy devouring to take pictures of, but after eating lots of Scottish eggs, all over the world, I have to say these are the best I've ever had. Then they brought the Gaelic mac & cheese, which was three different kinds of Irish cheese, made with and served with a banger... For the uninitiated this is a sausage. It was also devoured because it was equally delicious. And then we got the fish and chips. Pictured here, light, flaky fish, and a really amazing crust, with really delicious tartar sauce. All in all we had way too much fun and will be returning soon.

Paul J.

Yelp
Good service, cold beer. Great cod special. Scotch Eggs are just ok. Ran out of some beers.

Uncle G.

Yelp
Get you're creamy pints right hear. Lovely scran as well. Knot sure if it's pet friendly as I didn't see any dogs.

Spencer Q.

Yelp
Beer was room temperature. Food was meh and the bartender was more interested in cutting limes than refilling patrons drinks. Expected more. Maybe that was my fault.

Sarah C.

Yelp
Service was fabulous. We popped in from a HS sporting event. Drinks were tasty. Scotch eggs were great!

Cheryl L.

Yelp
Great food! Shepherd pie was very filling. Nice atmosphere for a relaxing dinner and close to hotel Indigo. Walking distance.

Cody T.

Yelp
Great little spot downtown. Drinks were pretty good and the food was tasty. My friend got the Monty cristo and I'm upset I didn't order it. Nice low key spot for a drink and conversation on a weekday night. Bartender was attentive but not intrusive which we liked.

Jennifer C.

Yelp
Visited this pub while out on vacation, on a Sunday afternoon. Ordered the boneless bbq wings, sweet potato fries, and a pineapple mimosa. The food & drink along with the service was great. The wings were not overbattered as most tend to be. 5/5!

Deborah M.

Yelp
This is definitely an Irish menu so if your use to your shepherds pie being made with ground beef, you will be disappointed as theirs is made with lamb. I stuck with the fish and chips. The fish was battered a bit different than most fish that comes out of Irish pubs. This fish was battered in a more panko style mixture, versus a traditional puff style batter. The fish was also thin and long versus thick and shorter as most fish is a hand held and this whopper was far from being a hand held item. I slandered my fish with the generous lemon slices and malt vinegar as well as my fries with malt vinegar. Totally yummy! The waiter was super attentive and this would be another come back to spot on the next Dallas visit.

Dale B.

Yelp
I usually search for a diner in every city I travel through. This morning I was exploring downtown Dallas for a diner when I came upon an A-frame sign in front of The Crafty Irishman. The Traditional Irish Breakfast caught my eye, luring me in with its title alone. I was absolutely pleased with the Breakfast. The icing on the cake, so to speak, was the terrific Irish Coffee I had. I simply wanted to get the most out of my Irish experience! I definitely recommend this place.

Beau H.

Yelp
The food : especially the scotch eggs are such a deal : this is the best spot for late night anything and while packed the service is most excellent even during sport games and such.

keith l.

Yelp
Fantastic Irish place, Kourtney was the best bartender ever. Great atmosphere and drinks. Would 100% recommend when in Dallas area.

Truc L.

Yelp
Nice restaurant and friendly service. Food is okay since we went on Saint Patrick day, very crowded.

Brianna B.

Yelp
Literally the BEST fish and chips I've ever had in my 28 years of LIFE! THIS ain't no long John silvers BS. These are legitimate FILETS, yes FILETS of fish, lightly bread, hot off the blistering oil! The fish tasted so scrumptious and fresh. It was the perfect partner for some hot sauce (or tartar, if you like being traditional). The fries were alright. Basic frozen stuffs. If they ever decide to hand-cut their fries and leave the skins on them, they would for sure get a Michellen Star. Didn't eat the coleslaw, because as you can tell, I'm not a fan of mayo, but my mayo-eating friend stated that coleslaw was superior to other's he'd tried in the past. Out waitress was great! I loved that she initially offered by tabasco as the hot sauce option, but then unexpectedly gave me some buffalo sauce from the kitchen to improve my experience!

Stacy G.

Yelp
Stopped in for happy hour to grab a pint, great atmosphere however service is abit slow.

Chad H.

Yelp
Came in for a pre-comidy show drink with the intention of "bar hopping" but we got stuck (in the good way). Jeff, our waiter, was informative/attentive. I started with the crafty special and stayed until show time.

Keith H.

Yelp
Really good joint. I enjoyed having the Drunken Mussels. They are a beer cream based broth with lots of favor and toasted garlic bread to soak up all that juicy sauce. The mussels were good and tasty with lots of flavor. Washed it all down with A blood orange cider. In fact the mussels were so good I had two orders the first night and went back the second evening to have them again.

Apryl B.

Yelp
I was here a couple of weeks ago for a conference and this place did not disappoint. Their happy options was great. The food and drinks were very good! Highly recommend the half and half! Also, the service was fast and efficient. They were all very friendly! Feels like you're in a pub in Ireland!

Diana D.

Yelp
I've been to this place twice and it's beyond great. The food is SO good! Even their Curry chicken is good! Their drinks are amazing. Totally recommend the Irish coffee and the watermelon cider. The Scottish eggs are to die for. Waiters are friendly and diligent. It definitely gives Irish pub vibes. I love this place!

Linn P.

Yelp
My friend and I stopped by after a show for a quick bite and drinks. We were pleasantly surprised! The inside area was quite small. We waited for an open seat at the bar The bartender was nice and attentive. The kitchen messed up twice on my order which he corrected immediately. I got the cod sandwich which was really great! My friend got a burger with scotch eggs on top. The scotch egg was good and actually had a good amount of meat layer around the egg. I think my cod sandwich was better than the burger and lighter too. The fish was very light and flaky. Sweet potato fries were very good. Highly recommend this place !

Vaani S.

Yelp
I stumbled upon this place on a cold Dallas night while traveling. Our flight got in late and there weren't many options so went here. Food: There's not much you expect from a pub when it comes to food but this place sets the standards right. I loved the wings and the Irish nachos. They have a huge selection of beer and my favorite was the Manhattan Red ale. Service: Really sweet staff. They checked up on us and got our food out really quickly. Ambiance: It has all the Irish bar feels. Really cozy inside for a night out with friends or a casual date. In-all: Great place, I might go back to try more from their enu, all of it looked so interesting.
