Started the Victory Half Marathon from there back in March! Nice spot with great history.

Love everything about this amazing, 12 indoor court, pickleball spot, sans the lighting. But it's great as soon as the sun sets.

Google
Beautiful large warehouse with giant windows overlooking the Bay. Been to events here at night and during the day and have enjoyed all of them. Cool Rosie the Riveter historical exhibit right next door too in the visitors center. Lots to do and gorgeous views. Great for walking around or a bike ride over looking the Bay.

Came here for a pickleball tournament in April. The facility is massive and gorgeous. Parking was plentiful and access was easy. If you are looking for an event space with character you can’t go wrong. The Craneway is amazing! Pros: Giant space, gorgeous brickwork, clean bathrooms, easy access, plentiful parking Cons: maybe a little cool because of the high ceilings

Google
Beautiful venue to play pickleball! I think it needs more members to facilitate an open play that can separate by levels. One drawback is that there are no showers here. I also like that there is a restaurant on-site, but note that it is only open for dinner.

This is pickleball heaven! $25 day pass unless you come on Tuesday/Thursday after 4pm or Monday 10am-2pm it’s $15. $129 for monthly membership which comes with 2 guest passes per month (along with other perks).

Stunning views of San Francisco. Beautiful glass walled event space. 3 separate spaces or can be used as 1 large 60,000 sqft venue. Restaurant Assemble has great food and lots of choices to choose from. Wait staff seems professional and friendly.

I invited friends to play for my birthday and the owner was rude to us. I had called a month before to inquire about options and a friendly gentleman helped me. I shared I was planning this for my birthday. He reserved a court for me and I was told I was able to bring treats (cupcakes) when I asked. The day came and a woman came very confrontational to us when we were on the court and told us she was the owner and we weren't allowed to bring cupcakes. She also asked my friend if she was going to play while looking at her outfit. She seemed very judgemental. We were also all people of color so it felt she may be racist. I really liked this place and I'm bummed I won't be coming back unless there is new ownership.

Yelp
Such a nice venue! This has become an indoor pickleball court with drinks and food you can order. The people here are friendly and they have a good system down that keeps the games competitive! Pretty spacious as well so balls aren't constantly rolling on your court.

We had to go somewhere else for dinner. I really liked this place and I'm bummed I won't be coming back unless there is new ownership.

Yelp
I usually love playing in the women's 3.5-4 ladder on monday mornings but yesterday 3.0 level players (or below) were brought in and there was no ladder happening. So there was no way to move up. It was underwhelming to say the least and certainly not worth driving over the Richmond bridge + paying $25 for. Why is Craneway advertising this Monday event as a 3.5-4 level ladder when that's NOT what it is?

Yelp
Was at an industry event held here recently, the location down on the water is hard to beat. The facility is huge and houses a massive interior open area that can be broken down into large sections with an interior moving curtain system. The event I was there for had a crowd of about 3000 and it did not feel over crowded or packed. The high ceiling and glass exterior walls make the space even more open feeling. The location and parking lots on one end of the area make this venue an attractive spot for hosting large gathering right on the waters edge. The only drawback I saw was as the sun set and the winds picked up after dark, it can be quite chilly and windy outside the building. This was the case the night of my visit, after dark it got cold and very windy. Making outside night time activities almost impossible without a wind block. A cool venue right on the waters edge that can house thousands of attendees if need be. 3.5 Stars rounded up for the overall layout of the facility. 00899

Yelp
Great venue in a perfect location, right on the water. Plenty of free parking available and it's next to the ferry. Attended several different events here and have been pleased with each one. Recently attended for a work event and the staff was nothing short of amazing! They are so helpful, patient, and really help to bring whatever your vision is, to life!

Yelp
I've been to the Craneway Pavilion for a few different things and it has never disappointed. My most recent trip to CP was for the virtual reality show- Space Explorers- The Infinite. Holy moly, can you say mind-blowing???!! Highly recommend this event! Go get tickets now! In fact, we loved it so much we went two weekends in a row and I raved about it to all my colleagues. I also became a major VR convert but that is a story for another day. Craneway Pavilion is the perfect space for an event like The Infinite. The staff were all great and super helpful. Not a lot to the space so you just go, attend the show, and leave but there are restaurants in the area if you are hungry before or after the event. There is also a VR movie showing at the Craneway that looks intriguing so we will probably be back for that. Easy to get to, loads of parking, great location right on the water. I can't find any negatives about the Craneway Pavilion.

Yelp
Came here for a roller skating event. The DJ was celebrating his birthday! Half of the hanger was coned off and the roller rink was a fairly good size. You can order food through Craneway. There's a small bar to quench your thirst. Plenty of tables and chairs surround the rink's northern and western sides. A food truck pulled up next to one of the west side doors. I ordered Fish n Chips from the food truck. One of the Craneway staff members was really working hard to make sure there was enough seats for everyone. She was friendly and had a nice smile. The cover charge to attend the event was reasonable. It was very windy outside. Free water was available! The music was great and the ambiance was fun and playful.

Yelp
Great facility great courts with great view. Head teaching pro not very friendly. Ignores new members or members with similar skill level. Seems to favor female members as well. This is bad because this affects the culture of the facility. Facility very clicky as well. Not good for a brand new facility. Open play isnt very open. Members who believe they are better than others will only interact and play with members they seem worthy.

Yelp
I've been here many times and like it. I saw Taj Mahal in concert with Les Cezontles and that was fun. I also came for the KPFA craft fare. It was fine. The places was a bit more crammed with vendors than I would have expected, since we are in the middle of a pandemic, but the takeaways are as follows: 1) The bathrooms are clean. 2) They were able to have fresh air coming from the many open doors they had opened. 3) It is a huge space! Absolutely huge so walking through, while perusing the goods was a great workout. 4) They've upped their food game with Tommy's BBQ (see my review) and Urban Remedy products (apparently made in Richmond). 5) The beer game is lame! The wine didn't fare much better. And of course, they didn't have a cider, so ... But all in all, I don't mind coming here. There's plenty of parking, especially if you are willing to walk a bit. Coming down here is always a pleasure.

Yelp
Our company held an office kick off meeting. The venue is large and accommodating. I arrived an hour early for setup and was working with the audio and video guys to play our videos for our various presentations. Food and drink was provided from a central kitchen and they can easily distribute the food and quickly disappear. They provided the sandwich lunch for the workers and then quickly cleaned up, and setup snacks for the employee meeting. Throughout the meeting they kept the snacks supplies and refilled the drinks for the next eight hours. When needed, they can setup curtains to separate the areas for your various group meetings. We had a main stage with our backdrop setup in the center. Then when we had our break out groups meetings, we headed to the either wings. On one side is the bathroom. On the other side is a full bar, which we used as a milk shake bar and made use of the blenders. The staff was great, they were very helpful and quick to respond to various requests. I would recommend this for meetings, we we had 500 people and we had plenty of space.

Yelp
Came here for a big company holiday party. It's a huge warehouse, and while you wouldn't think a warehouse would be appropriate for a party, I do like the fact that the ceiling was all decked out with lights, and the catering here was fantastic! I don't know if the catering was a 3rd party hired by the company, or if Craneway Pavilion did their own catering, but I loved the tacos (especially the beef tacos) that were served here, and the desserts were amazing as well! There were pistachio macarons that, the minute they appeared, they were instantly gone! They were by far the most popular dessert of the night! It's right by the water, where they're building a new ferry station, and the glittering view of the city is very pretty. But it was really cold, and quite a walk from the parking lot. I would have liked it if they had closed the doors when we were in line for coat check, because it was a freezing December evening. But it was a lovely party, and we had a lot of fun!

Allen D.

Yelp
Been here for different events. Capable of holding large events or a number of smaller ones. Can be really windy outside if you have to wait in line or walk far to your car.

Yelp
I went with my sister to the 48th Annual KPFA Radio Benefit Craneway craft fair. There were quite a number of vendors who were selling repurposed clothing. In fact, I bought a wrap skirt which the designer said was from a 1945 sleeping bag. Well I immediately put it on and left it on. The design was unique and fun. It's really durable fabric almost like canvass. We also found some fair trade chachikis and clothing for my great niece. It was a great event with so many unique vendors selling different hand crafted items.

Yelp
What a beautiful venue! Came her for a co-worker's event to celebrate her son's life. It was five hours of music and food. The acoustics in here were amazing and the light streaming in through the windows gave the event a nice bright arena. This used to be the old Ford plant and it's right by the Rosie the Riveter museum along the water. There's plenty of parking since my coworker had 600 guests and the tables were nicely spaced out so one could weave through them all to get to the restrooms in the back. The restrooms were clean and there was someone in there pretty frequently making sure it was clean and was sweeping constantly. The only slight downside was the tables that got hit directly by sun made people a little lightheaded. Beyond that, it was perfect!

Yelp
Rolled tonight to the Craneway with 3 Carloads of Yelpers to See Woman's Roller Derby. What a Blast It was Richmond Vs Oakland Roller Girls . The was Pyramid Brewery selling beer. Girl Scouts selling Cookies. Boiler house selling food. Senor Sisig had a Food Truck outside selling Sisig Burritos. They should add more food trucks like the Off The Grid Events. The Richmond Jammers where killing the Oakland team. They were scoring left and right. What a Fun Night- Great Bunch Of Eastbay Yelpers and Roller Derby a Winning Situation.

Yelp
I attended VEVO Halloween 2017 here and was pretty impressed with this venue. Located right by the harbor, Craneway Pavilion is a long and wide, spacious warehouse building in the industrial part of Richmond. The views are beautiful as it is right by the water and can definitely see people booking this venue for birthdays, parties, and even wedding celebrations. There is also a huge parking lot so don't worry about parking! I'm not sure if it was VEVO or the venue, but parking was free. One thing that made my experience enjoyable here was not only the artists but the sound quality. Not sure if it was the venue or the speaker systems from VEVO/ Honda Stage, but the sound quality was amazing and provided a more than decent sonic experience. There are a limited number of bathrooms in the building, unfortunately. I only found one men and one womens bathroom inside, but they were clean. There were two staff members in the bathroom cleaning and wiping down the sink area. Good to know that there were also plenty of portable bathrooms outside.

Yelp
I was disappointed when I heard my graduation from my school in SF was going to be held here. I'd had visions of some awesome SF venue being the place. Then I looked at the Craneway's website my excitement increased. It seemed like a venue that summed up my life in the bay with views of SF and the east bay. As the day approached the weather channel promised a torrential downpour and I eye my weather app on my phone hoping that I'd get those awesome views up until the day of. As I left for my graduation it was pouring rain. As graduation started the rain tapered off. And in walking back to my seat after receiving my diploma holder, I glanced out the huge wall of windows and smiled... the sun peeked through showing an amazing view of the SF skyline, Emeryville, and the bridges. The venue looked elegant with its decor, and had enough room for a reception behind the stage. The reception area was windows from ceiling to floor. It's definitely a venue worth looking at.

Yelp
Another wonderful and memorable year of celebrating together, of community, and remembering that we are indeed proud, patriotic, and free.... not to be taken lightly.... thoughts that went through my head watching the head-spinning dizzying array of blooms, twizzlers, multi-thunderous frenzied fireworks over the water as the Oakland East Bay Symphony played their hearts out.... The two male hikers in Evin Prison in Tehran are still incarcerated...thoughts of China and North Korea, Afghanistan, the Middle East, many of the African countries that know only civil war that has torn apart the very fabric and foundation of their livelihoods... it brought tears to my eyes, standing in the dark and watching a celebration that we very well may take for granted. I think of communism, of history, of those who fight valiantly in small or huge endeavor, and plow through the adversity for that glimmering shred of hope...of freedom. I came a year ago to the very same celebration; the venue and program just keep getting better (as the parking situation gets worse...$10 at the event. Otherwise, be prepared to walk a chilly 15-20 mins. gonna try my hand at biking next year) Vine/beer vendors (swanky kiosk!), ice cream, burgers, hot dogs, fancy pants food... Had a lovely time with some neighbors and friends. I feel very, very blessed to be a child of immigrants, born on American soil, who is familiar with how easily my life could have sprouted and been charted the other way.... impoverished, in a village, under Communist auspices. I glory in being an American, and hope not to forget the journey that brought this country to independence, and all of the cascades of blessings ensuing from this. Amen. PS Faves were the great tunes from Sound of Music, and the OEBS Junior Division winner who, at 13 y.o., played the first movement of Chopin's concerto. 'twas amazing... I hooted and howled and clapped as loud as I could. He was inspiring, stirring something deep and hidden for me... of youth, aspiration, determination, discipline.. and, for me, dashed dreams once upon a time.

Yelp
Went here for the Making Waves Academy High School Graduation. Before decor and feeling of old industrial Richmond. Great views water front of San Francisco, the Bay Bridge and Bay Area.

Yelp
This was the venue for the Yelp Sunset Showdown last night. I'm on their events mailing last but this was the first time I'd been inside. I was first intrigued when I read Ligaya's review in February 2010. When I went to reread it this morning to refresh my memory of the history I couldn't find it. I read Jana's paen to the Craneway and Monica's excellent historical summation, but I couldn't find Ligaya's review. I checked the filtered reviews and voilá! There it was. WTF, Yelp? You filter a review written by your own East Bay CM at the time?? I expect you guys to be significantly less mindless than the TSA. As for the Craneway Pavilion, it is glorious, beautifully sited overlooking the Bay w/ windowed walls to drink in the views. Alan thinks it's even bigger than a football field. I can't add anything to the excellent reviews written by Ligaya, Jana and Monica. Do read them to get the history of this place. I look forward to returning for a concert or other event, maybe even the July 4th bash Jana mentioned. What a place to watch fireworks! Even better than my deck.

Alison T.

Yelp
Sent to an event here yesterday called Junk in the Trunk. Great location and huge event space with plenty of parking which is a huge plus. I love that this place sits right on the wAter. The staff was aroubd and cleaning throughout the event which was also great and the bathrooms were very clean with plenty of stalls even for this large event.

Adrienne G.

Yelp
Recently came to Craneway Pavilion for the 1st time to see BJORK Thanks to previous reviews, I knew not to park in their lots but instead scored some nearby street parking.....made the hassle of leaving that much easier & quicker & helped to keep the lovely evening, well, lovely The facility is absolutely gorgeous & seeing the sunset while looking out at the skyline of the best city on Earth.....I gush Walking in was non-eventful, ticket quickly scanned. Drinky lines went really quickly & both cash / credit cards were taken The sound was really good - not too loud but got the point across. No distortion, sightlines were as expected given we're in a warehouse We had VIP seats & even though we were relatively late arrivers & got in the back, we still had excellent views of the stage ( although ducking / weaving required ) Leaving was equally as enjoyable - people letting each other out, no one crowding the sidewalks or looking to mow you down - as we've all experienced at other venues Looking forward to coming back for sure!

Yelp
This review is for the 3rd Annual Chocolate & Beer Festival 2/11/12 Local Chocolatiers, breweries and bands raising money for a good cause. First I want to say a big Thank you to Nique for promoting another great event! And many Thanks to Yelp East Bay @ Twitter for awarding me free tickets! The venue for this event was spectacular! I have never seen such a place! I was in awe as I tried to take in all in. The industrial architecture, the waterfront location, the amazing views of the Bay, the soaring interior...all of it was breath-taking! My husband & I arrived around 2:30pm and found an extremely long line outside the entrance. The line was completely confusing as most already had tickets in-hand and some needed to purchase tickets. After about 1/2 hour, we managed our way to the correct area to find another long line to get checked-in. There were 4 lines once you past the entrance. 1 for Eventbrite, 1 for Living Social, 1 for Google and 1 for those who didn't have tickets. Then lastly another line to show your ID that you are 21 and over. Then we enter to find more longer lines to actual taste the Beer & Chocolate. Five stars for the concept overall of pairing Beer with Chocolate. Ingenious! {I didn't get to taste the beer since I am preggo} My hubby enjoyed his favorite ales and I sampled a few cocoas. Had it been more organized, I think it could of gone a lot better. A few people that I met all agreed on one thing; we wished that we got a little more for our buck. Although I couldn't complain since my tickets were free. I felt really bad for all those people that waited in those super long lines after we left because all the samples had run out. There were way too many people and it wasn't fair to those that waited when the samples ran out by 4:00 and the event goes until 6:00

Yelp
Came here for Audio On The Bay earlier this summer, and was pleasantly surprised with what I encountered. The venue itself was unexpectedly large - it's basically just a wide, lengthy warehouse with glass paneling (so that you never find yourself feeling enclosed or wishing for additional room). Additionally, for the event that I attended, I found that it was surprisingly very easy to make your way to the front of the crowd - being that all you had to do was cut around the outside of the venue and make your way to the front side of the stage by following the warehouse's perimeter. Speaking of this same outdoor area, you're offered a pretty pleasant view of the surrounding bay - which just so happened to offer a fantastic sunset on the day that I paid a visit. The combination of water rushing past pairs surprisingly nicely with the relentless thud of banging bass and a plethora of neon lights... Also worth giving kudos to are the staff that help keep the venue up and running! While waiting in the Will Call line to claim our ticket cards, my friends and I found ourselves getting pretty thirsty. On a whim, I decided to ask one of the event staff if I could have one of the bottles of water that I saw stacked by the case in a corner of the tent. To my surprise, he handed out waters to myself and everyone in my group! I'm not sure whether to attribute this to Insomniac's customer service, to Craneway's, or to volunteers who happened to be working the event. Either way, the good vibes were evident and truly helped me get my night going on a very positive note. Speaking of which... For what it's worth, the rumors that everyone has about Nor Cal ravers are indeed true - they're so much friendlier and more polite than what I'm accustomed to here in LA! The crowd was social, good-natured, and clearly just wanted to have a good time (as opposed to LA's party-going crowd, whom I find are sometimes just looking for an excuse to make complete fools of themselves without getting judged). (Maybe everyone's just raised better here...!) I'd gladly pay a visit to Craneway again in the future. Hopefully I'll have the opportunity to get ravey once again during my next trip up north!

Yelp
A wonderfully restored historical building that combines a cutting edge industrial charm without compromising the history of the building . It feels very 21st century and yet I could feel its past and could almost hear the voices of the people who assembled cars and built ships there so many years ago. It is a showplace not only for Richmond the but all of West County The massive floor to ceiling windows provide breathtaking views of San Francisco over the waters of Richmond. There is a price to pay for the view. The building is cold and by 1 am. It was colder inside than it was outside. Ample parking and very a clean bathroom Reviewed as an attendee:

Yelp
They did a nice job with the Great Train Expo and the free parking was a bonus (and the lot's close to the entry). Craneway Pavilion is only a couple of miles off the I-580, easy to find. And, it's a heck of a lot nicer than Cow Palace!

Crystal T.

Yelp
This event venue is located in Richmond. I cringed when I first found out it was in Richmond, considering the reputation of it's location. But once I arrived, it wasn't as bad as I thought. I was amazed actually... Finding parking wasn't a problem. I attended a B-boy jam (Breakdancing Competition/Event) here during the summer. This place is huge! I love the high floor to ceiling windows and I couldn't help but admire the breathtaking view of the ocean. This venue would be a perfect reception venue for a private party, perhaps a wedding! Beautiful. If you're looking for a spacious venue for your upcoming event, check out the Craneway Pavilion!

Irina V.

Yelp
Great location and I just love how they use this old historic building which was used to build tanks during World War 2 to hold events like East Bay Home Show.

Gina K.

Yelp
Came here for a gymnastics meet. Breathtaking views! Great spacious venue! While driving through, the neighborhood definitely looks a little sketchy, but once you arrive, you feel like it's not too bad. Lots of parking.

Leslie K.

Yelp
I've heard about this place but never had a reason to visit. It's kind of hidden but the entrance is right near the water. We pulled into a museum to ask a guard where Craneway was. Maybe there's signage but it's awfully small signage. We attended a women's roller derby tournament. it was great to watch the sailboats pass by as well as the game. Food trucks were the main source of concessions although a few bars were set up inside with wine, beer, and mixed drinks. The bathrooms were like one might expect in a stadium environment. They weren't too bad but the crowd was minimal on Fathers Day for the roller derby crowd.

Yelp
Rob took us on a complete tour of this place which included the Craneway Pavillion, talk about WOW!!!!!!!!!! This place is ideal for large events and even weddings! I told Rob that alongside our Photography business, we also have a Wedding Planning and Events business, I would love to host a wedding here.....breath taking sunset views from this place....LOVE IT! Folks if you haven't read up on this place, please do you will find that The Craneway Pavillion behind the restaurant is the original Ford Plant in the 30's, and the original home of Rosie the Riveter during WWII when they built the tanks here. The amount of TLC that went into this restoration is worthy of a trip here alone! It's gorgeous! I will upload a few shots and you will see what we mean! Great events were hosted here like the Chocolate & Beer Festival, the Superbowl 44 Party, and both brought in tons of folks. Planning an event......call Rob, this place is the best NEW thing this town has to offer, you will love the locals who sit at the bar too...very nice! Next thing in mind to order......The Cobb Salad or a cheeseburger! YUM!!! Oh! And looking forward to their patio seating coming up this summer!

Alexander E.

Yelp
I'm ashamed to say that I've lived in Richmond for over seven years and had never been to The Craneway Pavilion. However, leave it to Yelp to throw their biggest party in my very own backyard. The venue is off Harbour Way and easily accessible off of I-580. Additionally, the venue is accessible via ferry and bus. Better yet, the venue has tons and tons of parking that wasn't ignorantly designed. The venue itself sits nicely on the water front and has great views of the Bay. The location causes for some heavy winds, which is to be expected. The event space itself is huge with high ceilings and floor to ceiling windows, The Yelp party had crowds and crowds of people and the venue never got stuffy or smelled. Restrooms were easily accessible and were clean throughout the entire party in part to the hard working staff. All in all, a really cool venue that is yet to be discovered.

Vicky T.

Yelp
Great venue for a lot of vendors!! Conveniently accessible via ferry and tons of parking! The security were super nice Bathrooms were clean I know it is difficult to clean as you go, but there were several huge spills (goes with the territory I know but safety first!)

Jenny T.

Yelp
After you make a right off Harbor from Hwy 580, you can't help but notice the big giant tuna can that sits on top of the hills. Shamu, the killer whale must live in one and Chicken of the Sea lives next door to Shamu. I'm sure of it. They live like gods in those tuna cans... But back to the venue... Omg! Fantastic views of the bay. Seriously, if they knocked down that venue, you can build some nice houses with views views views! Oh wait... back to the venue... It's a big giant white canvas warehouse where you can build the best event in your life (ie weddings, dance events, etc). I went to Oktoberfest here and the venue was impressive for a rock band. It held a few hundred drunk, beer guzzle folks... mostly locals because I was eavesdropping on conversations. If you ever make it this way... stay away from the other side of 580 for your own good! Just drive straight to the venue and don't look back! Once your there, you'll be blown away by the views views views!!

Christina N.

Yelp
Craneway Pavillion is literally a warehouse by the bay. Came here for a EDM concert and was a little surprised to find it located in an industrial zone with lots of warehouses in the vicinity. There's plenty of spaces for event parking around, but if you live in the city, you can also take a Lyft or UberX out to Richmond. It should cost about $30-$35 (without surge pricing). The view of the bay is pretty decent at night, and especially good if you just want to chill and enjoy the breeze while listening to the music. The ceiling is pretty high and the warehouse spacious, so you dont feel too cramped. Security is rather chill if you go late. There's limited bathroom in the venue, but tonnes of potty loos outside. Overall great venue!

Tito Y.

Yelp
Could be a nice place for a party.. Warning to those however that, those sliding doors will create a miserable draft of cold air blowing in if its freezing outside. Also.. parking requires you to hike in like 200 yards. Plan ahead and or plan to be dropped off.

Marina M.

Yelp
We went here doe nerium meeting. And I have to say the building is pretty nice and simple, historical. On the inside we had beautiful view of the ocean and San Francisco. Which was my favorite part of it all. The down part that it gets really hot inside in warm weather that we had. And there was no a/c, fans. After sitting there in the meeting for 5 hours, we were beat tired! And also they had super hard chairs which were really uncomfortable to sit on :( Other then that it is perfect place for big or small events!

H T.

Yelp
We looked at Craneway Pavilion as a possible wedding venue since we really admired the industrial architecture and beautiful location. I called to inquire and was put in touch with James Wilcox, their event manager / technical administrator. He was pleasant and accommodating on the phone, and we set up a time to tour the venue. Up until we toured the venue, James was in constant contact with us and we were hopeful that we had finally found the right place. We toured the venue with James, and it was pleasant and informative. James said he would follow up with more information like preferred vendors, more detailed pricing, etc. We were excited that we had potentially found a venue. And then....nothing. We were ghosted! It was honestly kind of shocking and unbelievable. We and our wedding planner reached out to James Wilcox repeatedly via phone, email, etc. and he did not answer us at all (!!!) Not even to say someone else had booked our dates or that something had come up. I honestly never expected to be ghosted by a "professional" in this capacity. My suspicion is that he got an offer for a more spendy corporate event on our dates and just didn't want our business (even though we had indicated we were open to multiple dates), or maybe he randomly hated us? Our tour was very normal, so I have no idea what could have happened. An explanation was necessary either way. Either way, this was extremely unprofessional, jarring, and disappointing.

Yelp
I went here for an event, Una Bella Sera, over the weekend and it is a great venue for big events! The showcase had several vignettes of how you can setup your wedding reception as well as samples of music, dresses, cake, photography and food. Back to the venue...the Craneway is ginormous. Might not be the best place for an event here if you don't have a lot of guests. Unless you got a lot of drapery to shrink the room. But if you are planning a big party of like 500+ people, this might be a place you want to check out. It can probably fit over a thosand people easily. As the sun goes down, the place looks very nice. Wtih all of the windows and the waterfront, it would be a great atmosphere for a wedding.

Yelp
I came here for the Sunset showdown and the location is wonderful! The scenery of the bay is pretty relaxing. The warehouse is huge! The event itself gave people an eye opener! This location was an ideal place for cars and buses to park. I definitely thought the Yelp event was full of fun. Food everywhere, free drinks and prizes, interesting concerts, and more! I love it! It was also my first elite event too!

Yelp
Went here for Slaughter by the Water II. This place was a great venue for the show. It's large, spacious, and airy. Parking lot is large with many spots. The only downside is it gets super windy by the Bay and is kind of cold. Oh, and who wants to pay $7 for some Budweiser?

Yelp
I definitely agree with fellow yelper Erin C. She captured everything my hubby and I felt about the third annual beer and chocolate festival held here on 2/11/12. I know it was for a good cause, especially for children but the festival itself was the most unorganized event I've ever attended. Who doesn't love beer and chocolate? And combined in one event? We're in. The venue itself is so historical. It used to be a Ford assembly plant. Located right on the edge of the waterfront. Beautiful location and spectacular views of the bay area. But i digress. We ordered our tickets via Goldstar. I caught a one day online special where we paid $10 per ticket plus service charge. Others purchased tickets via Google, Living Social, and Eventbrite. How do I know? It turned out folks who bought via Google, Eventbrite, or didn't have tickets were escorted into the venue through an adhoc line while the rest of us remained in a very long queue. This happened twice while we're in line. We arrive around 3 pm. The line is snaking down the length of the pavilion. We get inside and go to the Goldstar table. We get our tickets and we see swarms of people. The pavilion is huge, but they've sectioned it off. Tables are cramped together and the people and lines are squished. We go to one table serving Pyramid beer and they say sorry. They're out. Already? The event closes at 6pm and it's only 3:30pm. It goes downhill from there. The next table has little cut up pieces of chocolate. We redeem one yellow ticket. Better get something while we can we're thinking. We bite the bullet and decide we'll stand in the huge cramped line for Drake's Brewery based in San Leandro. While I wait patiently?..hubby goes to a different shorter line and scores a couple of 4 ounce plastic cups of beer. Which brewery? Who knows? We're just happy to have something in hand. Bottom line - never again. If there are future beer and chocolate festivals by this same organizer, we will not be attending. It's a case of too many people who paid discounted tickets, ourselves included, and not enough goods. Why couldn't they spread out more? The place is huge. We left our remaining tickets on the table by the door and left. 5.0 rating for the Craneway Pavilion 1.0 rating for the beer and chocolate festival

Yelp
It's not very often I end up in Richmond, but if I am, it's probably because I'm at the Craneway. I've been here on three occasions: Yelp's Sunset Showdown, The Chocolate and Beer Festival and The B.ay A.rea D.erby Girls' Opening Night Bout. It's tucked away near the Marina so there's an awesome view of the bay. This is Point Richmond so it's actually the nicer part - near the warehouse district. There's a lot of space so each event had strategically placed vendors. I think the Beer and Chocolate Festival could've used the space a little better. It became a cluster of people if you didn't get there early. They keep the venue clean and the windows make this place seem pretty cool. I'll have to remember to get here early for the next bout because the bleacher seats were taken pretty quickly. Bring something soft to sit on because the floor and the bleacher seats are pretty hard. Overall, this venue is a good place to host a big event.

Yelp
Came here for Alesso and the lines for anything were ridiculous! Getting into the parking lot was ridiculous, getting inside was ridiculous, trying to pee was ridiculous! Everyone was cutting and it just turned into a huge crowd. No regulations what so ever! I hope there's no other good event around here cause I'd hate coming back here. Despite all that, the event itself was amazing. Hope Alesso chooses another venue next time.

Yelp
Located near the San Francisco Bay, this structure has nice views of the bay, plenty of room for events with a few thousand people or less, and has plenty of historical significance on top of it all. There's a parking lot nearby that can hold about 100 cars or so, plus a parking lot in the back that's near the Boilerhouse Restaurant, and the 74 line ends here, though driving here is the best way, as its only about 2-4 minutes from I-580. This pavilion is one long hall that can be used for events such as one big party, a small gathering place for dance practices, or just a conference hall for a mass of people. It used to be a Ford production plant until World War II, when it was converted to build tanks and other war materials. Relics of its past can be seen with huge 50-ton pulleys, girders, and other factory support features are seen when you look up. Depending on the type of event being hosted here, Craneway Pavilion can be a great place to do things, though it can be far from other things in the East Bay, so go at your own leisure.

Yelp
Don't be put-off by the fact that you have to drive through Richmond to get here. The Pavillion is actually the old Ford Manufacturing facility, and the inside is a giant, airy and well-lit warehouse. We came to watch Roller Derby (which is awesome, by the way!) but couldn't help but keep commenting on the beautiful light and shadows made in the building, as well as the awesome bay view. This is definitely a cool place, and I'll be keeping an eye out for other activities held here.

Yelp
Mmmmmm Beer and chocolate..... Went here few weekends ago for the 3rd annual chocolate and beer festival and this is how my bf and I felt about our experience: Event: 2-6pm; showed up around 3pm. Regularly $30 for tickets, got 'em off pinchit for $15 bucks -"Whoa... long line!" -"Whoa its paaaaaacked, loooooong line for beer" +" CHOCOLATE IS BOMB + "BEER IS BOMB WITH CHOCOLATE" - cluster fuck of lines +awesome music ++People got fed up with the long lines+ gave my bf n I their extra tickets= More booze and more chocolate samples for us!!! Conclusion: This is what they need next year 1. More space 2. More chocolate venders 3. MORE BEER!!! They said 1st year: 400 people, 2nd year: 800-900 people, this year: NO IDEA. They promised, " Next year: More chocolate, more booze, less waiting" Def down to experience it again! It was such a wonderful day!
