Amazing service, great food - what a hidden gem!
I had the pleasure of being waited on by Barbara, who was very nice, friendly, and attentive. She was able to answer all questions that I had about the menu with a smile and joy!
I had my eye on the Fried Seafood Platter before I came in, but since fresh crawfish season was coming to a close and it was my first time in, Barbara brought me a sample of their boiled crawfish with their house sauce (which was so tasty!) and with their garlic butter.
Since I had quite an appetite, I continue with the Dos Platter with Fried Catfish, Fried Shrimp, and sweet potato fries. All of this was outstanding! Even the shoestring onions rivaled those from steakhouses with how fresh, crisp, and flavorful they were. The catfish and shrimp were also very fresh tasting with a thin batter and cooked to perfection.
Then for the last course, what could be better to round out the night than nice hot beignets? The beignets were tasty and very unique. Rather than being bread-y, they are almost a cross between a traditional beignets and a croissant. Crisp and slightly puffy on the outside, but flaky underneath very soft / tender.
Great experience overall, and will definitely return when I am in town! Next time if crawfish are not in season, I might have to get some garlic noodles to go along with my fish and shrimp!!!
