Beautiful wood paneling on floor, columns, walls and ceiling beams. Giant fan shaped bay windows with amazing vistas of downtown on one side and uptown on the other. Large kitchen and buffet serving counter. South facing rooms have plush inset booth seating and an ornate bar room. Surprisingly good acoustics and plenty of functioning outlets.

The ambience was beautiful, the service-attention to details, great! However, the food on the other hand was grossly underwhelming! For buffet, they had very limited options, it didn't taste great at all! The 3 star is for ambience and the fact that they gave us goody bags from the spa.

Beautiful skylines, quite place. My wife and I got some of the best coffee with liquor (gran marnier/bailey's) that we have ever had. It was however a slightly stuffy atmosphere. It reminded us (us being foodies from the north east) of a place our parents would go to. Wonderful, but somehow lacking a 5/5 stars .

Scenery that takes your breath away. Very romantic. Hidden gem in downtown Dallas. Service is excellent and food is delicious. I had a request for dessert and they did amazing.

Drawing at the Crescent Club was thoroughly enjoyable. The room has a calm atmosphere that made me feel at home. I hope that I'll get to draw here again soon.

The valet system is almost enough to not go back. I was with a client that commented that it was a little difficult to navigate the valets between the Crescent court and the hotel and The Valet responded "life is difficult get over it". I don't believe the Crescent, being as dated as it is, and with much newer upscale competition has room for anything other than superior service, in all areas, with high-end clientele. Maybe this could fly when you were the only game around your area but you definitely are not. And for anyone that would defend the Crescent saying that a valet is not representative of the Crescent as a whole, then you don't understand the hospitality industry. There were multiple people complaining about the setup before and after us and the response to everyone was "We are two separate companies, go talk to them".

Would be 5 stars if was easier to park. Otherwise food and service is exceptional!

I went to the crescent club for a wine tasting this my second visit the staff was accommodating and the atmosphere was nice. I will be going back.

Yelp
Three words that could firmly stand alone united on a FB Events flyer to grab my attention: Lobster. Brunch. Buffet. As soon as I saw them, I knew the Crescent Club was where my husband and I would be celebrating our 9th anniversary. No "club" membership is needed. Everything was amazing. The lobsters were dissected longways so we were not shy about asking for 3 pieces each. Instead of lobster claws, there were fat, peeled crab claws and jumbo shrimp for our consumption. The sea bass was as decadent as fish could possible get, like eating slabs of butter without the guilt. Even the sides (butternut soup, green beans and cherry tomatoes, salads, etc.) threatened to steal some of the seafood's thunder. And that was just one side of the buffet. The other side had room-temperature brunch items (fruits, cheese board, smoked salmon and more) and a manned omelette station. We would've appreciated this side more had we not been so full when we found it. This is a nice, niche place to visit on rare occasions, but not weekly nor monthly even, as high cholesterol can creep up on you like the automatic 22% service charge did to us.

Yelp
My family dined here for the first time for Xmas. The overall dining experience was amazing. The hostess and staff were extremely friendly but the "Santa" was obviously unwelcoming and blatantly transparent about our visit. Sadly to say we will not return back next Xmas. We'll simply donate to a more worthy cause.

Yelp
The quail is amazing! Beautiful views from the 17th floor and outstanding service! If you're in the area, highly recommend! The chicken shawarma was very tasty and generous pours on the wine :)

Yelp
3.5/5 stars We reserved a private room for dinner, and the service and staff was superb! I selected the menu for our party, and we went with a four course meal. 1) Tortilla Soup: 5/5 yum, i really like this soup! Really well made! 2) Wedge Salad: 1/3 ehhh, i didn't really touch my salad. It wasn't that appealing. 3) Choice of rib eye, halibut, or chicken: 3/5 I picked rib eye. Very large portion. A bit on the salty side. 4) Creme Brulee: 2.5/5 I love creme brulee, but this one was torched enough and didn't really taste fresh. It tasted like something you would pick up in Las Vegas buffet line.

Yelp
We went here for their Sunday brunch lobster buffet, $75 per person + 22% gratuity. The place is very nice and quiet. The staffs here extremely nice and polite. Food excellent, I recommended the place to several friends for special occasions.

Yelp
Beautiful view of downtown. That's about the only plus sign for this place. If u enter this place on a Saturday evening & there's only one table, that's a red flag! And one waiter too. The food is mediocre, can be hit & miss. The Tuna steak was served on a piece of rubbery crostini. Go figure. However, the lamb chops was pretty good. Knocked off one star for the service. No smile the entire time we were there. Can't blame him coz he is probably going home with very little tips everyday considering the business here.

Yelp
I purchased a voucher from Travelzoo for the Crescent Club for $59. The Crescent Club is located on the 17th floor of the Crescent Rosewood Hotel. The voucher included club access (of course) and a four-course dinner for two which included two soups or salads, a shared appetizer, two entrees and two desserts and complimentary valet service. The cost is regularly up to $122 for the meal and $10 for valet service. Our table was not exactly right in front of the window so that we could survey the Dallas skyline but we were pretty close. We were the next table over and still was able to enjoy the skyline. It was beautiful as night fell. I got to see 560 all lit up. The mood was romantic and there were very few tables seated next to us. However, the dining room was quite large but they sat everyone close to the window so we could hear conversations as they were being had. For that reason, I think many of the tables were speaking softly and only spoke a little louder as they ordered their meals. The service was great. It wasn't exactly a 5-star service but was better than many and could be considered to be one of the best. My husband chose the tortilla soup, blackened salmon fillet, and the cherry turnover for dessert. We shared the Texas quail as our appetizer. I chose to have the baby mixed greens salad, herb roasted lamb chops and the creme brulee for dessert. At first bite, the entrees seemed a bit salty but as we continued to eat salt wasn't the primary spice anymore. Everything we ate during our visit was phenomenal and we would definitely love to come back if we could. However, we are not memebers of the club and I read that the initiation fee for the club itself can be up to $5,000.

Yelp
My husband and I recently dined here after purchasing a Travelzoo voucher and I have to say it wasn't worth it; we were not impressed. Ambiance: The Crescent Club is located on the 17th floor across from the Crescent Hotel and offers great views of the Dallas skyline. The restaurant itself is very grand and almost feels as though it's from a different time. I'd imagine it hasn't changed much over the years. The dining area itself was surprisingly small (perhaps there's another room we didn't see) with only a handful of tables having full window views. Service: The service was probably the most professional I've encountered and was almost over the top. It was impressive to say the least and was certainly outstanding. Our drinks were refilled regularly and there were numerous individuals stopping by to check on us at various points in the evening. I will say though that the staff as a whole was not overly friendly - I honestly don't think I saw our waiter smile once during the entire evening. Food: The food was where we were really disappointed. It just really wasn't anything special. We started with salads (fairly basic, nothing special there) and then moved on to the shared appetizer (part of the voucher deal) which ended up being the highlight of the meal. We selected the "roasted baby pear" which was served with gorgonzola, pecans, arugula, and a drizzle of balsamic vinegar. It was absolutely delicious and the flavors worked wonderfully together. For our entrees my husband ordered the steak and I opted for the buttermilk chicken (we had to order from a limited Travelzoo menu). The steak was ok but it really was not up to par for this type of establishment. It honestly tasted no different than what you would get from one of the local chains and was no where near the quality of The Place at Perry's, Bob's, or any of the other great Dallas steak restaurants. The potatoes that came with the steak were overly salty almost to the point that they were inedible. My chicken was average though I will say it was very moist. Again I can't say that it was anything special and again the spinach that it was served with was extremely salty. Dessert was a real disappointment. I ordered the chocolate cake which was covered with ganache and served with raspberry sauce and my husband ordered the cherry turnover. Both were very small portions and were beyond bland. I'm a huge chocolate lover and I only ate a few bites of the cake because it just wasn't worth it. If I had to pick I'd say the turnover was the better of the two, but it ended up being more dough than anything. Even with the Travelzoo voucher this was a fairly expensive dinner and I honestly can't say it was worth it. I can only hope the regular menu is better than the limited version that we saw, but we certainly won't be back to find out. Such a shame - this place could really be great if they only fixed the food!

Brett S.

Yelp
Ugh. So disappointing. We had a voucher and were very excited about it. That was short-lived. It's telling when on a Friday night, with 7:00 reservations, there were 2 other couples in the restaurant. Quick food overview - grilled oysters were ok but other flavors overwhelmed any oyster flavor. Salad was the best part of the meal, but ok. Salmon was...salmon. You have had it before. Steak was ordered medium but brought out well done. They fixed it and brought out complimentary glasses of wine as an apology. When fixed, still very average. VERY average. Honestly, side by side, texas land and cattle would destroy this place - take that as you want. Really bummed overall. Total tab after the voucher, 2 drinks, after dinner drink and tip, $130. You can buy 2 much better meals than this for the same price. Don't make this mistake.

Erin F.

Yelp
Obviously, you're not coming to the Crescent Club for an everyday lunch or dinner, so when a mentor invites you to join her, you join her. I had lunch at the Crescent Club not too long ago and it was delicious. I'm typically opposed to buffets (they are wasted on me), but this one was healthy and beautifully done. I had white fish with a mango salsa on top, caprese salad and fresh veggies on the side. Fruit and dessert were both served, but that's not what you do when you are a lady who lunches. Also, the waiter understood that I wasn't going home to take a cat nap. but was headed back to work, so he got me a coffee to go. So nice!

Wendi M.

Yelp
We used our Travelzoo voucher for my fiance's birthday, and were looking forward to a night of great food and a wonderful view of Dallas. Definitely the highlight of the evening was the view from the window seat and the staff. While the staff was very friendly and accommodating (the girl in the bar was super sweet), I have to agree with the other reviews that the food was sub-par. My steak had quite a bit of fat on it, and the potatoes were a bit bland for my taste - nothing tasted overly salty, like I have seen in the other reviews. The highlight was the pork belly appetizer. For the price point ($122 value), there are so many other Dallas gems that could satisfy your tastes and get you more bang for your buck. Here I feel you are just paying for the name.

Rika H.

Yelp
Great location! Great service! Average food. The pianist at the bar is one of the best thing of this club. We got a drink at the bar, then the manager moved us to the dinning room when the window table is ready. Sweet! It's sad to see this kind of grand place is struggling. The place on a Thursday night is not busy at all, most of the patrons except one table came here to use the Travelzoo deal.

Jules B.

Yelp
Nice experience! Came here using a travelzoo voucher, and after reading some reviews, we were skeptical. Initially when we got to the restaurant, there was no host/hostess to be found, so we wandered around for a few minutes trying to find someone to seat us. Once we finally did, we received excellent service throughout the night. Overall, the food was good but not excellent, especially for the price point. Strip steak was pretty dry and flavors were ok. The scallops were cooked well. Cherry rhubarb cobbler was our favorite! 3 stars for food, 4 stars for ambiance and service. Glad we came with a voucher to try it out, otherwise pricey. But I guess you pay for the view and atmosphere!

Casey C.

Yelp
The view, holy goodness the view is the best view out of any restaurant I've ever had in my short 24 years of life. We made reservations for 7:30 because we wanted to be there from sunset - nighttime. I would recommend this time for April. At first there was only 2 other couples in that side of the restaurant, but it filled out pretty nicely as the night went on, not too quiet or crowded. We were there on a Saturday night. There was a young live singer singing and playing the piano, she was really really really good and gave the place a great vibe. Oh right, the food. My wife had a seafood pasta which was their special for that night. However, she asked if it could be made with alfredo instead of the normal olive oil that it came with. The waiter asked the chef and they said no problem! Aaaaaand it was awesome! Incredibly fresh scallops, JUMBO shrimp, crab, and fresh veggies. I had the duck breast, which was cooked perfectly. Very tender and at the right temperature. At first the portion looked small but it was actually good sized and filled me up satisfactorily. We also had the forbidden rice, but we didn't like that at all, very sour and just not our thing. It would be 5 stars, but I can't because their dessert menu was kinda lacking in what we like to eat. No cheesecake, tiramisu, creme brulee, or anything with a good solid cream base to it. Closest thing was chocolate cake but...nah. Overall, take your date here and reserve a table next to the window, it's very worth it!

Scot D.

Yelp
There really is not enough letters in the word WOW to accurately describe the experience I had during a business lunch at the Crescent Club. I would have to petition YELP to add a sixth Star to rate the overall quality of this private club. This is a place where wearing a suit for lunch was surprisingly a pleasant experience. The food was exactly what you expect from the top dining club in Dallas...Excellent. The service was not outstanding it was astounding...and this was just lunch. I can only image what dinner would be like and what the view from the 17th floor of the Crescent Tower would look like. Maybe someday I will get to take you there to show you and we both find out. If you are looking for a private dining experience...I cannot think of a better place.

Dan B.

Yelp
We celebrated Easter 2011 with spectacular brunch at the Crescent. Delicious (especially the salmon, crepes, omelets, mimosas...) Great service! Fantastic atmosphere! Could have done without the guitar player, though (who considers (unrequested) Bruce Springsteen's "I'm on Fire" to be appropriate for Easter Sunday morning?)

Cindy F.

Yelp
This place sucks. I don't know how a "club" to old money gets away with such hard, generic bread, salads with old lettuce and waiters with uniforms that are 4 sizes too small. The steak was edible. Skip this place, it's resting on it's laurels and the smart rich folks are eating it up. In case you missed it, that was my take on sarcasm.

Love B.

Yelp
The most exclusive country club type private membership in Dallas. A must to be a member if you're in Dallas and in business since all the who's who go there. You'll notice the difference in service and treatment. It's in one of the most incredible buildings in all of America, which has so many unique places where they add their own signatures to it that any guest you bring here will be impressed by the ambiance.

Donny D.

Yelp
This was literally the best restaurant experience I've ever had in my life. The service, view, food, and music made this a very enjoyable and memorable experience.

Darlene L.

Yelp
The food was good, the service was slow but acceptable as we were not in a hurry. Quite expensive for what you get. Not worth the drive

Louis F.

Yelp
I also purchased a voucher from Travelzoo for the Crescent Club for $59. The Crescent Club is located on the 17th floor of the Crescent Rosewood Hotel. My wife is a personal chef so we decided to experience the "best". The view was OK from where we sat. We found out that the prime tables in front of the window where reserved for "club members" so....not a chance with a voucher. The staff is incredible. Very attentive and pleasant to be around. The atmosphere was a little "stuffy". I had the blackened salmon and my wife had the free range oven chicken. From a chefs perspective the salmon was very salty and the chicken was dry. The quail was cooked perfect and was very tasty. The banana bread pudding was incredible. A must have. One thing we did notice is that the "members" that were seated in front of us by the window , were dining on foods that we did not see on our menu. Sea scallops, beef tenderloin, asparagus....just to name a few. So obviously there is a menu for "members" and a menu for "The Voucher club" Overall the staff experience was pleasant. Don't expect five star food with a discount voucher. Don't anticipate sitting by the window unless you have $5000 to become a member.

Susan M.

Yelp
I hosted a series of client meetings in one of the private rooms at the Crescent Club this morning and then we had lunch in the dining room. Rodrigo and his staff could not have been more accommodating and professional! Not to mention, the food was superb in a beautiful atmosphere. I will definitely be scheduling more meetings and luncheons at the Crescent Club in the near future!

Karen R.

Yelp
Ambience: This is located in the 17th floor and the view looks great! Service: Great. Staff were friendly Food: POOR! We were so disappointed.

Cheryl J.

Yelp
First, the ambiance and service is excellent. We were seated in the beautiful palladium style window and had a great view of the city. Drinks were well prepared and wine list was broad. Didn't use valet parking because it was not obvious where that was, so took a spot pretty much right in front of bldg. The food was mediocre. The seafood bouillabaise was actually just tomato soup with potatoes in it; the mahi mahi entree was tasteless; the lamb chops were cooked as requested but again, flavorless; the dessert just tasted of sugar. Service and ambiance do not make up for food that isn't even as good as what you get at a cafeteria. Secondly, used a Travel Zoo voucher for dinner for two, and that is a rip-off. You pay for your drinks, of course, for any extra food items you want that are not included in the deal such as a side dish for your entree, and for tip and tax, but tip is calculated at 20% on estimated value of meal which is at least $30 more than the items would be if purchased off menu. So your bill on top of cost of voucher is easily more than the cost of the voucher initially (if you order drinks).

Kathi N.

Yelp
Beautiful atmosphere, fabulous view of Dallas, and good music in the bar...but everything else...very lacking. My husband and I were looking forward to a nice evening out. Reservations for 8:45 and we arrived exactly on time. We were told they were running behind and our table wasn't ready. No problem, I read about how nice the bar was and looked forward to relaxing and setting the mood for dinner. We ordered a bottle of wine, to enjoy and take to dinner. We danced...lovely music. And we waited...and waited...and waited. 50 min after we arrived the bartender realized we had not been seated. They totally forgot us. I even think the matre'd had gone home as we never saw him from about 9:00 on. Ok. So thinking the staff will want to go home and will treat us well since we were forgotten. Not to be... 10 min after being seated...waiter happened by and realized no one brought us a menu. So...finally order placed...spoon for our soup...soup arrives...still no water. Finally water and one load stale dinner roll. Food ok, but nothing special. Husbands steak very fatty and tough. I shared mine and we got through. No one asked if our meal was acceptable. And a final laugh. As we are waiting for dessert, husband says...I'm not getting any coffee. :-) True...coffee was never offered. He wasn't getting coffee if he wanted it.! So...go for a drink in the bar and enjoy the view, the beautiful facility, and the music. Pass on anything more. Even with the discount Travel Zoo price...was not worth it.

Mase A.

Yelp
We celebrated my wife's birthday at the Crescent Club last night. I bought the Travel Zoo voucher and was so excited to treat my wife to a really nice dinner overlooking Dallas. I was so disappointed from the dinner and evening. We arrived and only saw 9 people dining other than us. Of those 9 we were guessing that all had the Travelzoo voucher except for 3. The waiter was very kind but we waited often for him to take our order or give the bill. It made me sick to think I was spending a lot of money on the food that was not great and I could have made myself for a lot less at home. There was nothing special about the food and some items were tasteless. The price of the evening was unbelievable even on top of what I paid for the voucher. My wife and I both left feeling as though we were cheated. I apologized several times on the way home that I thought it would be a great dinner but was very disappointed. This club has so much potential. The atmosphere is nice and formal overlooking the Dallas skyline. If they found a chef that created some great food this place would be buzzing. Please save your money and go somewhere else until this place finds a way to make food worth the price you are paying.

Chris K.

Yelp
I'm not sure what some of the other reviews were about but we went to the restraunt on a friday evening. As we arrived, we were asked by the hostess if we would like to go to the bar first or to have a seat. We chose to sit in the bar and enjoy a cocktail first and they brought us to a small table at the window overlooking the city. Inside the bar there was a live singer/pianist that provided a nice backdrop. After enjoying half of the drink we went over to our table which was a nice table. It was not the prime seat by the window but it was as close as you could get to the 2 great seats. To be honest, anywhere in the dining room provides a great experience. The food was a little more exotic that what we were used to but there was nothing that we thought tasted horrible. I ordered the steak and my girlfriend had the seabass. My dinner was great as it was a nice sizable cut of meat, not too fatty, served with some potatoes and fancy mini carrots. My girlfried actually liked my steak better than her meal but she still enjoyed the fish as well. We were offered a nice selection of deserts. I ordered the banana bread pudding and she ordered the creme brulee. We finished both of them and tried to stay awake on the way home. I will definitely purchase another travel zoo voucher given the opportunity. Just so you know, the dress code seems to lean more towards men wearing a jacket. Though I wore just a nice button down shirt and I saw another guy with the same......however we were outnumbered by about 6 other suits.

Nichole M.

Yelp
My husband & I recently celebrated our 50th birthday at this restaurant & unfortunately were very disappointed. The view was nice, however when we made our reservation, we requested a table near the window so that we could enjoy the view. However, on our arrival, they placed us in the middle of the restaurant despite our request. The overall ambience of the restaurant though was very nice. My husband ordered the ribeye steak & it was terrible. Poorly cooked, 30% fat, thin, over-cooked (even though he ordered it medium). As he stated - he had a better steak at Chillis. Dessert and appetizer (we had quail) was good, but the main dish was very disappointing. Selection in menu overall poor. Service poor. Server rarely came to check on us, we barely saw him the whole night. He was very unhelpful. Overall, do not recommend this restaurant. Plenty of other restaurants in Dallas for the price with much higher quality of menu & service.

Fred C.

Yelp
I dined at the Crescent Club last night with my wife and friends on a $155 voucher for four from Travelzoo. The restaurant is all pecan wood and traditional elegance with amazing views of the city. The service and food were quite good as well although, the waiter never cracked a smile and was rather rude when questioned about the hefty check we received. We had ordered four drinks, one inexpensive bottle of wine ($45) and an extra appetizer as the voucher only allows for shared appetizers and desserts. We were presented with a $253 tab including tax and a automatic 20% gratuity. After an uncomfortable discussion with the waiter he said an error had been made and reduced the bill by $52. How can you make a $52 mistake when there are only six tables on a Saturday night? The bill of $201 still seemed high setting the total price at $356 for four. We could have dined better for less anywhere and left feeling good about it.

K J.

Yelp
Ambiance, service and views of skyline are great. Wish I could say the same for our four dinners. Best way to describe food is mediocre and overpriced.

Sara B.

Yelp
A friend and I had dinner here after she bought it on Travel Zoo. They didn't let us see or select from the menu. They had a "special" menu only for Travel Zoo patrons. It was okay but ended up spending as much or more than we would have at another better restaurant. It wasn't okay to treat us differently.

Michael A.

Yelp
A most disappointing evening. Friday night, ambiance was nice....but the food and service.....wait staff was not very interested, not once did they come and ask if we needed anything after they took our order. Nor did they care to inquire whether We liked the food. However, that is understandable as the majority of them did not speak English and their accents were terrible... It was a strain just to order a beer... Then the bread rolls....really I have had better rooms at any gas station in East Oklahoma, at least fresher... The tortilla soup was bland, gooey, and without imagination... Any Mexican chain restaurant can do it better... And then the butternut squash soup....horrible, the sous chef must have dropped at least a cup of lemon juice into the soup rendering the thing inedible... Appetizer were ok, but the Kobe meatballs were not much different from the Walmart variety and the scallops were tasteless as if they had been frozen....a white tasteless blob, or actually 2. The best part was the tenderloin which was cooked right....unfortunately, they forgot to cook the potatoes which seemed raw....the lamb chops would not have been bad, but they managed to cook each one differently....why do they ask how you like them prepared if they come well, medium well, and medium.....? Oh well, the desert was not much to write hom about. At least the key lime pie had time to thaw.....funny thing though about banana bread pudding.... It sure looked like a banana bread muffin.....but again, nobody came to ask.... The thing I most regret ,however, is that I used a travelzoo voucher and they calculated the tip.... If I could have, I would have given a tip of about $ 0.05.... The service was that bad!!!! At least I now know one more restaurant to tell all my friends they must shun at all cost.

Billy P.

Yelp
We bought the Travelzoo Voucher for 4 guests. We were celebrating our friend's retirement and a late Valentine's Day meal on Feb. 19th.. I just wish I had read the reviews before making this choice (my fault). We had a great table with a view of downtown Dallas but unfortunately this was the best part of the evening. (There was only one other couple in the entire restaurant). Should have been a clue when the three phone calls I made to the "Club" were answered by an answering machine which advised to leave a number and "someone" will call you back. The last call was just an hour before our reservations. Service by waiter Angel was good. The food was average to below average. For the price and supposedly a first class dining experience this was just terrible........a ripoff........a joke. Food basic and tasteless not even close to being what we expected. Bread was barley warm, very plain and likely from off the shelf of a local grocery. Steak was average and not as good as one I had at a Roadhouse Restaurant once (what a terrible comparison). Fish was smelly and inedible, roasted quail was O. K. but nothing special, and those "sweet potato" sides did not even resemble anything like a sweet potato.......more like half cooked pasta.......sticky and tasteless. The apple pie with cinnamon ice cream (about the size of a walnut)........was mostly cold dough and not even edible. Must have come straight from the frig. Marie Calender's from Tom Thumb much better. No one ever inquired as to how the food was?? Either no one cared or they were afraid to ask. I doubt that the chef was even present in the kitchen. This place does not deserve to be classified as even a good restaurant or club. Obviously struggling and on the way out of business, don't be surprised if we read of bankruptcy soon. Shame is that they are willing to squeeze out their last few dollars from folks who are wanting to celebrate a special occasion with friends............then have to apologize to their guests for the food and very bad experience which will leave only bad memories where good ones were expected. TravelZoo and Crescent Club manager you should be ashamed to sell these (over 500 sold) and to be associated with this joint.

Yelp
Ate here back in July with a Travel Zoo certificate and just ate her last night during restaurant week. July 6th meal was SUPERB (will post that review soon!) but this one was not quite as good. After the first meal, couldn't wait to come back and since this is a private club, thought I would never get here. But surprisingly, they are part of restaurant week. We were a table of six and had 4 courses and 2 bottles of wine - a sauvignon blanc and the Hess Cab that was part of the tasting. Both delicious! All 3 starters were winners - from the deeply satisfying tortilla soup to the succulent pork belly and delicate pear Gorgonzola salad. "4th course" was a battered bone-in quail that was absolutely delicious. Crunchy coating and juicy bird and very generous portion. Everyone liked this one! Entrees were a mixed bag. I had the fish and was mystified by the bright orange sauce that drenched the plate. It was vinegary and slightly sour and did not enhance the fish in any way. In fact, I pushed it all aside so it would not touch the delicious fish. My friend agreed exactly so it was not my taste buds. The pork dish was quite delicious and I think that best entree. The strip steak was OK but not as juicy and I would have hoped. It also according to my other friend, had strong olive flavors so you need to be an olive lover for that one. I had the tres leches passionfruit cake that was yummy. The people who ordered the chocolate dessert were not amused. It did not meet their expectations. So, appetizers were all terrific but entrees and desserts a mixed bag. Restaurant is lovely and a real treasure. Service is very adept and the piano music a welcome accompaniment to a very nice evening.

Yelp
Purchased a Travelzoo voucher in January for when friends came to town in May....using it turned into a disaster. When calling to make reservations for a Saturday, I was told only 6pm and 10pm was available. Was told I should dine during the week instead. Of course when mentioning the Travelzoo Voucher when making the reservation the tone changed immediately. And not for the better. So I emailed the restaurant (using the address under "contact us") and got no response....then I forwarded it there again and no response (this was all weeks ahead of the Saturday in question). I called and asked to speak to a manager, and was sent to Alexander (the assistant food and beverage manager)'s voice mail. I left a detailed message with my contact information. Still no response. (2 calls to Travelzoo later didn't prove helpful so I am disputing via my credit card.....which I have never had a poor enough experience to actually dispute a charge). Ironically, I work in the home office of a restaurant group and was looking forward to trying a new place with ambiance, hospitality and great food. I wasn't even able to use this voucher to eat a meal there. How sad is that? Lisa
