Held my class reunion here. Words can't explain how accommodating the owner and staff were. Everything was beyond my expectations, especially since I planned the event out of state. Michael (the owner) is very responsive and attentive to all of our requests. Not only that, he made sure that the bar was decorated with our school emblem and colors! Needless to say, we will be doing business with The Crest in 2024. The food was outstanding! Shout out to Glenn! And, the bar staff...friendly & superb!

Google
Really chill place to catch up with friends. Never had a problem here. Chill and not rowdy place. Only beautiful souls come here. Bartenders are great and super nice. Only one private restroom for women/men. But I don't mind because no one ever takes long.

Google
Amazing bar, Jose was very nice; an amazing and attentive bartender. He made us feel very welcomed and made sure everything was on point! The place is very cozy with a nice terrace where you can smoke while having your drink. I had a great time! A place I would highly recommend.

Thomas Stowe

Google
Love this place. Its very cute and the energy is always super welcoming. I have been here many time with friends, and I actually brought my mom here for her birthday and our favorite bartender Ricardo made us all his special drinks. Highly reccommend!

Google
Fun Gay bar with great bartenders and interesting and friendly clientele. Even if you come on your own you’ll always find it easy to strike up a conversation with someone. Drinks and beer are not overly priced with certain nights having drink specials. They also host some fun events like Trivia Night, Drag Race Viewings and Loteria Night.

Google
Friendly atmosphere. Cool bartenders. Great music. Plenty of parking. Patio area for smoking, but also to relax and have great conversations with friends and others . Overall this is a great place to unwind and have a good time. Drinks are priced just right.

Glenn Fitzgerald

Google
Nice bar with a neighborhood feel and a little something for everyone: large wrap-around bar, pool tables, high tops, video screens, outdoor sitting/smoking area (including a walled garden with waterfall) and clean bathrooms. The bartenders are friendly and you can't beat that happy hour prices. Will be back.

Yelp
It is a very chill, fun spot with friendly bartenders. Drinks never disappoint, and the music is usually great as well. Two separate restrooms, with one being a single for more privacy. A nice back patio with a fountain and some plants for a relaxed vibe. Cash only, but they can serve as an ATM if you don't have any. Just ask the bartender how.

Yelp
I've lived in Long Beach for years and always frequent the Broadway Bars and the Silver Fox and on occasion make it out Hamburger Mary's. Yet somehow only visited the Crest for the first time last week. I'm glad I finally made it. This is the epitome of your neighborhood bar. Feels super local, with a good number of regular patrons, yet still inviting to first timers like myself. Bartenders are great, it's decorated super well, and has a patio for when you need some air and if you're a smoker. Can't wait to add this spot to my Long Beach bar rotation and support them more.

Yelp
It's great to have some gay bars in or near north long beach area. The Crest is unassuming and they do pour some stiff drinks. They also have an outside patio area. Parking is mostly on the street. It can get pretty crowded. They also serve food here as well. Definitely worth checking out.

Yelp
I stopped in The Crest mid afternoon on a weekday. It was slow so I can't give much comment. They did have a small late lunch crowd though I did not eat. The food looked good and the place had a local hangout vibe, which I like. I hope to hit at a more happening time on my next trip.

Yelp
really disappointed that i won't be coming to this bar anymore. i came for the friendly service and devoted bartenders but i refuse to give the owner any more of my money. he talks down to his employees in front of customers, prioritizes his circle of queens and prides himself on an accepting environment when thats not the reality. almost every conversation i had initiated by a regular usually led to me having to explain my gender, reinstate my pronouns and/or listen on to how good of an ally they are bc they "had a trans friend".. and this is after finding out there was talk amongst themselves over people like me invading "their" space. there's no use calling him out either without him accusing, deflecting or denying. i feel for the bartenders who could make this establishment expand as a fun, lively and inclusive safe space for the lgbtq+ community. there's a lot of great qualities about this bar and it shows so much potential but it seems like a missed opportunity..

Yelp
Came into this joint because it's down the street from my house. Had no idea it was a gay (or all-inclusive) bar, but that's beside the point. Happy hour kills with a huge pitcher of anything on tap for $15, the service is great, you got pool tables & a modern jukebox to play whatever you want. Cheap drinks, great service, clean joint.

Yelp
I have been coming to this amazing locals bar for far longer than my parents would like me to admit. Michael, the owner himself, is the sweetest; a supper advocate/supporter of local charities and LGBTQ+ endeavors! (Personal) - Thank you Michael! - Apologies about that time with Islander security detal, but def got home safe. It was all my fault and you know you're awesome!!! Jose is always bringing that vibrant welcoming vibe for all pronouns, celebrations, and libations cuz there's no one better than the professor of the pour. Chet rocks the smallest pick~me~up shorts even when short shorts won't get anyone down midweek or midday with a smile and tank/kicks combo I can't dare afford because of my BMI. (He's hot and I think single?) I can't fathom above mid-thigh/thought while he's rocking and pouring at rates that defy gravity. Austin mixes in an irreverent smile and fun joviality into every evening he's your mix master with a smile belying ALL the lime sharp, lemon tart, Cheshire grin you need regardless. (Shirtless or not!) Tommy's navigated that potentially insurmountable chill required by; barstool posts of old timers, obnoxious trail-blazing youth, and even just the "I'll wait." crew. Dealing with all that later evening meeting headaches and traffic nightmares... with flair, smize, and a wonderful wit (but he mostly drives a "Vespa" ). I might be biased but this place is awesome, inviting, ALL ACCEPTING, and supports OUR commuy and local charities! If you get the chance, find the regs. They're playing pool, or being judgmentalthe opposite side of the bar with me likely smackdab in the middle. These guys have awesome stories that need some oral history.

Yelp
Where do I start, I absolutely love this dive bar they have cheap drinks, great music and the most amazing bartenders Tommy and Jose. If you come you must try the Wap shots soooo good.

Yelp
This gay club is probably a really fun place for the locals which I am not basing my review on because I visited on a Sunday night and we all know nobody goes to a club the day before a work week. So the bar is quite spacious with two pool tables and a bar off to the left side with stools all around. There was also a patio in the back but it was poorly lite with an uneven walk way so tread carefully. Besides this the ambience was unattractive and lacking character.
google avatar

Charlie W.

Yelp
Great hometown bar. Bartenders are super friendly and make fantastic drinks. Very casual. Have outside patio. Pool tables. Juke box. Sunday fundays is free bbq 4-9 pm. They cooked to order for me today. Awesome burger and steak fries! Thank you so much for the warm welcome! Will definitely be back.

Yelp
The drinks are cheap, and this is the only gay bar I know in North LB now that Pistons is closed. That's about where the positives end. There's nothing nearby, and the average age of patrons tends to be older than 50. The bathroom has a distinct odor at all times, as does much of the left side of the bar. I have had several interactions with the owner, and all of them left me wondering why anybody would want to support such an unfriendly man who so obviously only cares about our money. Obviously, none of the above matters if you live nearby and wanna get drunk for cheap at a dive with other guys your age. If you're over 35, a gay male, and live on Cherry north of the 405, this is the place for you! For them, this bar deserves a 5-star rating. It doesn't get any better than the Crest for local dirtbag debauchery! That said, people who know the Crest typically don't need to look it up on Yelp. For probably 99% of people reading this, I highly recommend visiting the Mine Shaft, The Brit, or similar on Broadway instead if you want a gay dive bar experience. If you're from out of town and want a destination bar for partying, I recommend visiting Ripples, which is the OG Gay club of Long Beach. Crest is GREAT for its intended audience, but I cannot in good conscience recommend it to anybody else.

Yelp
Let me say something nice and positive about "The Crest" first.. 1. I like the Crest 2. Prices are great 3. Complementary BBQ 4. Jose the bartender is awesome 5. Nice patio Now the not so nice and negative. 1. Owner disrespectful except to his favorite " queens" 2. Other bartenders are rude and not personable.. 3. The Charge of $2.00 to use Debit/Visa card 4. Owner Michael Romero uses his patrons/queens to throw/86 people out including myself. 5. Owners favorites/ regulars think they run the bar.. so beware. ( They usually sit at first table to the left) They are loud, gossip, talk behind your back however they will say hello to your face and much attitude. (Not all of them but a few) 6. Will get thrown out for defending yourself ( like I did) 7. Can not smoke pot on patio however if you want a hand/blow job, please feel free to do so.. ( I've witness all three) So there it is in a nut shell... The crest can be fun however it can be not so fun. There are other bars in area that are greater... Cheers!

Yelp
Visited for the first time this past Sunday. My friend and I had a nice afternoon there enjoying good food, friendly customer service and a nice outdoor seating area. Would have enjoyed music outside, too. Will definitely return when back in the Long Beach area.

Yelp
I don't have issues with these bar, but these bartender Brad he always make a day miserable when I'm there. We always have something to make mad. Love the rest of the bartenders but this guy it's rude.
google avatar

Claude B.

Yelp
Visited for the first time in several years. Friendly staff. Good vibe. Nice outdoor sitting area with garden and waterfall. Free burgers for happy hour. Will definitely return.

Yelp
Was on my home home and spontaneously dropped in not knowing what to expect. Wow, the bartender Matthew was awesome made me feel totally comfortable so I stuck around to enjoy the crowd

Monica G.

Yelp
Love this spot! Very low-key but crowd & bartenders are the best. Everyone is very friendly. Good music & cheap drinks! The patio is super cute with a small waterfall!

Yelp
I was visiting from phx and wanted somewhere to go. I found the crest on yelp. It was a hole in the wall type joint, with a handful of patrons. From the little I observed(from my seat), it's definitely a male establishment. I bought two drinks and gave my debit card. The bartender notified me that there would be an additional $2 charge for my purchase because they make a withdrawal from their drawer. It's 2017, get a debit terminal or a square!
google avatar

renzo f.

Yelp
I've been coming to the crest for quite some time now and I know what to expect. it's a dive, they cater to a certain age group, and it's better to bring cash than deal with their convoluted card handling system. but it's not a bad place to come for a casual beer and a chat with a friend and not feel like you have to fight for a table because there are usually plenty free. last night I came in with a friend to watch drag race. they had plenty of drink specials and we found a good table. I was chatting with the bartender about how the show brings people in on an extra night of the week which is usually dead for the bar, but most patrons dip out as soon as the show ends. imagine my surprise when the owner, who appears to have come in specifically to manage the sound system, cut off the audio from the show as soon as the main show ended and the after-show commentary began, leaving all of us sitting in front of the TV a bit shocked and disappointed. he then came over, not bothering to notice or perhaps ignoring our collective air of disappointment, and changed the tv to some ancient music videos. if the show is the only thing bringing people in to spend money on a night that is usually dead for you, don't you wanna squeeze every second and every penny out of it that you possibly can? maybe he didn't know about the after-show. sure enough, as I was walking back to my car, there was a caravan of cars kicking up a huge cloud of dust on their way out. I guess I really just feel bad for the bartender.

Yelp
Super chill on off nights with a sexy little back patio where nobody cares or stares.. free pool one night a week, $2 And $3 special all the time. Michael is the owner and is in quite often and always has a smile and small convo for you. The bar boys are excellent, not dicky at all and lend to the relaxed atmosphere. I love the patio with its mini garden and pond to enjoy and Brad is defiinitely my favorite bartender. Went here with my fave and have to say this place made the night that much more interesting!:)
google avatar

Frank A.

Yelp
Great prices! Nice hang out with a couple of pool tables, and a great patio. Another improvement was they added parking, it was a pain in the butt before. Not a bad place to frequent... lots of potential
google avatar

Dee W.

Yelp
This place is so much fun! Cool dive bar with a great staff & cheap strong drinks! LOVE LOVE LOVE this place, especially Sunday Beer Bust & Friday Happy Hour! Also....Thank you Crest & Panda Productions for making my 41st Birthday AMAZING!
google avatar

Glen M.

Yelp
Ok The CREST is my favorite bar in Long Beach . Friendly staff and the BEST DRINK PRICES in town. 6.- pitchers on sunday with free burgers on the patio. The waterfall outside and two pool tables inside add to the fun. I had a 50th birthday party here and the owner supplied decorations it was spectacular. Parking is ample and FREE . Ive been to every bar in town and this place is my go to bar for a great time.
google avatar

Syerra A.

Yelp
First time coming in was a blast! Came in Wednesday night, for 2 dollar beers with my friends. Matthew was such a delight, he made sure we were taken care of all night. Drinks were never empty. We will be back on his shift!
google avatar

Bob L.

Yelp
CREST is a good bar been there for 20+ years same owner, always good service and good bartenders. Sunday beer bust always fun, and have great hamburgers and hotdogs made to order. Good place to come sunday afternoon or anytime.
google avatar

Edwin V.

Yelp
I looooooove this place always so chill and Jose the bar tender is the fucking best always so humble and sweet and so honest I love him he makes the whole experience worth it. Drinks are good vibe is right best place to go on a Friday
google avatar

S W.

Yelp
I've been to The Crest twice and had tons of fun! The owner is awesome! We reserved tables on the patio and had yummy food for a large party. The drinks are strong and the bartenders are friendly. They have a large selection of beer and liquor, something for everyone.
google avatar

Tim E.

Yelp
This is a dive bar but it's a great place to meet up with friends and have some beer and play darts and play some pool. For some reason the Hot dog on a stick is good here and I order Hot dogs here too when I come hang out. The drinks are pretty cheap.
google avatar

Lance H.

Yelp
Cool vibe, nice bartenders, and it was great watching the playoffs here. Had some beer and ordered pizza. Good time here. Clean and new feeling.
google avatar

Christopher T.

Yelp
The bartender who was over in the front counter was being an asinine prick when I asked for a bottle of water he told me it was $3 I told him that I had $4 to my name on the card can you do it as a one-time fee he retorts and said that you need to have more money I was walking from a very long walk I wasn't expecting rude service from an asinine bear cub of a bartender to whoever owns the bar please educate your Associates who run things when you are not around they are making a bad name and service for your establishment
google avatar

Jennifer M.

Yelp
Super fun place! Have had a few party's there and food and drinks are always amazing!! Owner Michael is the best.

David R.

Yelp
Went to a party last night at this bar, party was great despite the owner acting like an idiot. You can have entertainment as 1 time thing, so the birthday boy asked the guy from the Eagle for karaoke . Owner pissed all over it, to busy being a jerk to the guests. If you don't know anything about running a bar , stay in your lane. He was enough to make me want to never go back.

Salvador A.

Yelp
This bar has been nothing but accepting to me and every patron that I have seen walk through these doors. The only people that have been rude and disrespectful to patrons, from my observations as a regular, are the clientele who get extremely drunk or whose advances are rejected by the bartenders. I've always been taken care of in a timely manner, addressed professionally, and treated like a queen. No matter how bad my day has been, my night is always made better when I come in. I'm bias when I say Brad is my favorite bartender but Jose and Chet are amazing as well. If you want cheap drinks and great customer service that will make you laugh or feel great, come to The Crest!
google avatar

Jacob D.

Yelp
This place may not be in the best of neighborhoods nor does it get crowded (which is a plus) but the prices are decent and the bartenders are very friendly and it is a very casual place with "real" guys not the fake WeHo crowd.
google avatar

Joshua P.

Yelp
I give this five stars only because of Jose he is the best bartender he's fair and down to the book he is very friendly and loving and treats everyone with respect you would know because he's never had any complaints to my knowledge this is someone you can go into business with he's trusting promising and good for any business keep him and give this man a raise because he's one to keep everyone I urge you to come on down to crest on the days he's working which is I believe Thursday through Sunday and don't forget to tip him on every round you buy he is worth it and more

Clifford M.

Yelp
I like the Crest but tonight was not so good the bartender Brad was very disrespectful he such a chatty Cathy he ignores the customers and he talks about his husband all night long about how much he loves him but he's always trying to pick up and have a threesome with all my friends that I take to the Crest. Its so annoying and it makes my friends very uncomfortable. He also brags about how he has the owner wrapped around his finger and that's why he talks to him the way that he does.I have a lot of respect for the owner but I will not be going back or taking my friends on Brads nights!!!
google avatar

Dave M.

Yelp
Here's my first review! Before I moved to Silver Lake this was MY bar. The staff and owner are awesome! He retrieved a prize that I won and someone walk off with a coup[le of New Years Eves ago. Price wise, you get a lot of bang for your buck. Sometimes you can even get banged by a buck as well. My favorite nights are Wednesday (free pool all night), Friday (Leather Night) and Undie Sunday afternoons (discount drinks if you strip down to your underwear). If you wear leather on Friday, you get discount drinks. Sunday afternoons are really fun in the warmer weather. You just can't beat a free BBQ and various guys in various stages of hot running around drinking in their underwear. The crowd ranges in all shapes, sizes and ages and are usually super friendly. Even if you're the shy type, you will get talked to and cruised. In this place it is really obvious when someone is interested in you. If you're not shy, even better. Find a conversation that sounds interesting and jump in. I still try to stop by at least one or twice a month just to say hello.

Yelp
Listen. I loved The Crest. I've been going there since it was still a hole in the wall, dungeon/castle-themed dive bar. The awful night that I will be recounting was literally the same night that I had said how much I loved The Crest to my friends on the way to the bar. I went in on Pride weekend and of course, it was packed. There was more so a hoard of people rather than a line, waiting to get drinks. Look, I get it. It's busy. People are drunk and being sloppy. I sympathize. When bars get busy, I ALWAYS tip very generously, so long as the bartender is at the very least, attentive. But if the bartender is pounding down drinks and not serving people and doing, I don't know, HIS JOB, then my sympathy stops there. Not only was the bartender TRASHED, but when I walked up to the bar and waved to get his attention to buy another round, he looked at me, rolled his eyes, and shook his head. He literally REFUSED to serve me. And to top it all off, he still served the men at the bar but refused me. Now I don't know if it's because I'm a woman or if he just assumed that I am straight (I'm not), but either way I've never felt so embarrassed in my life. And it was literally the first time I had been up to the bar that entire night. UGH. The poor barback had to pick up all of the slack for this incompetent bartender and it was honestly just an entire mess. This one experience made me feel unwanted and unappreciated in an establishment that I have been supporting for years. Just absolute trash. Do better.

Angie G.

Yelp
This has to be the best gay bar around the bellflower Lakewood area , specially a bartender named Chet . The sweetest cub ever ! Five star service and friendly faces makes this place an awesome time to come drink with your buddies or partner !! Shout out to you guys keep up the great service and kick a.. drinks !!
google avatar

Pete S.

Yelp
Great service. Both bartenders behind the bar are very attentive and polite. Drinks are strong. Come on down.

Matthew C.

Yelp
Awesome place! Michael the owner is amazing. The atmosphere and drinks were spot on. I highly recommend to anyone looking for a fun time.

Kenneth W.

Yelp
The Crest is what you would call a hole in the wall. A bar that is not just a gay bar but a bar that is for everyone who is just looking to hangout. It has affordable drink specials for every day of the week and if you're an avid pool player there are two tables for you to enjoy a few gams while you enjoy the company of friends or meeting new people. This is a bar that is just now finding its rebirth with its nice wood interior and its amazing chill outdoor dive setting patio. All the bartenders there are nice, but if I had to have my favorite one I would say it's Jose. Jose is very attentive to all his customers and makes sure that the bar remains clean at all times as long as he isn't that busy. He's what you would call a "man's man" with how easy he is to talk to and his excellent personality, every experience with him is a great one and is what keeps me coming back for more.

Victoria C.

Yelp
A gay dive with pool tables, darts, and a garden with fountains? Yes, please! The Crest is a perfect place to spend a night with your boys! Check the drink specials! Friday $4 whiskey? Yes, please!
google avatar

Dandy D.

Yelp
Always a fuuuuun time. Local watering hole with really neat and cute peeps. See bartender Chris' photo. Yum

Anthony J.

Yelp
The crest rapidly became one of my favorite gay bars. The bartenders are very kind and respectful;especially Jose. I love how the bar continually has events going on and the drinks are inexpensive! Make sure you ask Jose for a michelada, for they are the best!
google avatar

Jose P.

Yelp
I live in the area and nothing quite beats the convenience of driving to your very own watering hole. That is exactly what it feels like when going to the Crest, the staff and owner are very attentive and the drinks are always strong. They have drink specials for every day of the week to satisfy every customer and have complimentary BBQ nights as well. All around great vibe, judgment free zone. If you are looking for a place to have a great time and just hang out with friends, don't think twice about stopping by! They have a jukebox and pool table as well!
google avatar

Michael R.

Yelp
Great new hire in Seth. Really makes it a worthwhile place to drink. Will be frequenting this place when he works and telling my friends.
google avatar

Christopher A.

Yelp
My friends and I come here almost every Sunday. The prices are fair and the atmosphere and music is great. The bartender jose is EVERYTHING!. He's always friendly and makes you feel welcomed. Overall the crest is a great place to have a drink and catch an episode of drag race at the end of a long work day.

Dale M.

Yelp
The Crest is a Great neighborhood bar and lots of fun... ALL the bartender are fantastic. The review by Blue B. (aka Blue Balls... his problem) is by a disgruntled fired employee...
