The Best Dishes Eater San Francisco Editors Ate This Week | Eater SF

"The kimchi pancake was a revelation — a crispy, gooey-savory circle topped with green onion and hot sauce (and, as I learned, egg inside) that ate like a vegetarian pizza and made me glad I tried a new neighborhood spot instead of my usual haunts." - Lauren Saria

Such a yummy Korean spot in the Sunset! This places offers a variety of Korean food. From soups/stews, to bibimbaps, to delicious appetizers like the one we got which is their signature House wings! They have new menu items that they just dropped which is the Matcha makgeoli, buldak omelette, tofu salad, and the watermelon hwachae. All perfect for this summer! This is what we ordered: - Buldak Omelette - This was such a cheesy goodness omg it was so good! They added the buldak ramyeon into an omelette and then added a bunch of cheese on top! I love that the cheese and egg slightly cuts the spicyness from the ramyeon~ - Matcha Makgeoli with honeycomb - What a fun way to drink makgeoli! I’m actually not someone who drinks alcohol but them adding matcha and honeycomb was just so intriguing! They cut up a slice of honey comb in front of you and add it to your cup, after mixing everything together you get that taste of rice wine & sweetness. - Army Stew - Simple and delicious stew, full of ramyeon, spam, hot dog, tofu and cabbage. I got the mild and that was just right for me. - Beef Bibimbap - This is perfect for two people to share if you’re ordering other items. This came out hot and sizzling. Mixing it all together was so beautiful to watch 😍😂 - The crew house garlic wings - We chose the garlic flavor. I love that their wings were flavorful but the garlic flavor wasn’t overpowering. It was slightly sticky as well from the sauce being glazed over the wing.

SF standard of pricey but delicious Korean food and drinks! Atmosphere was moderate noise level so it’s nice to talk with friends. Definitely recommend going with a big group for sharing!

Google
So damn good you’d start speaking Korean. Okay maybe not but it’s still really good. Came here and had the crazy ramen and bbq beef ribs - super delicious and highly recommended. I’ll be back and this time with the crew.

Google
The best army stew available in the Bay Area!! Delicious and hearty. Kotsal and other beef dishes were great as well. Will definitely return!

Came on a Tuesday night at 830pm and our large group of 7 was able to be seated with no delays. Shortly after though between 9-10pm, the restaurant was pretty crowded. Fortunately we beat the rush. The food comes out and is really yummy but for the larger entrees they actually do not seem that huge. For example the daeho kalbijim definitely way more worth it than this one. But still yummy! Service was good. Overall great late night Korean spot here in the sunset. Enjoy!

Google
The Crew’s Mango habanero chicken wings were amazing. Great flavor and the perfect consistency of sauce that wasn’t too thick or runny. The honeycomb drink had a great presentation with the honeycomb cut fresh in front of us. The tornado potato stick was light textured and delicious! Good mozzarella cheese balls.

Google
We ordered banchan, a seafood pancake, and spicy tofu soup. The food was hot and delicious. Popular K-pop songs were playing in the background. The pancake was huge. Had leftovers to take home.

Google
Really good spot for bbq, Kim chi soup and Kim chi fried rice in Noriega. Parking is the usual with Noriega but worthy the effort. Meat is tender and flavorful and the egg mixed with kimchi friend rice is a must. The galbi, bimimbap, and potstickers are also really good. Service is good as well.

Yelp
We had the Kalbi Jjim, kimchi fried rice, and egg soufflé. The Kalbi jjim is honestly better than Daeho - tender meat, smoky cheese, tasty sauce, and flavourful japchae underneath. The Kimchi fried rice is soooo flavourful. The kimchi side dish is properly fermented. This is literally the best Korean restaurant in the city. Do not miss out! Service is fantastic. The interior is clean and modern. Will be back!

Yelp
Wasn't too hungry so only order two items: Beef Bulgogi and Seafood Pancake. The bulgogi wasn't as tender as I expected and the portion size was a little small. I felt that the flavor was a little lacking as well, it didn't have much of a taste. The Seafood Pancake on the other hand, was AMAZING! It had a good amount of crunchiness to it and the flavor was on point: not too salty nor bland! This is a must try at this restaurant!

Yelp
I visited The Crew with some friends on a weeknight, and luckily it wasn't too busy for us! We ordered Corn Cheese, Rose Tteokbokki, and Kalbi Jjim. I was impressed they were all very flavorful and easily shareable between a group of 4 people. We didn't get to try the Matcha Makgeolli or Watermelon Hwachae since we did come late, but hopefully we can try it next time!

Yelp
Coming from someone who often eats in la ktown, this place is pretty good! Service was really nice and there was good seating in the inside. There's like some silver theme going on inside. My friend was pescatarian but they took on the fish cake off from the rose tteokbokki for some reason which i didn't ask about.... anyway i'm giving this place 4 stars because theres a bit of a higher price point to the amount of food, and the food wasn't THAT good or unique to justify the prices. If you want korean food, this is the place, but there's no innovation or specialty here that draws me back
google avatar

Rachel L.

Yelp
Yummy little spot good for late night chats and grub, although definitely in the pricier size in terms of portion per cost. Came with 4 friends and tried 5 dishes and two drinks. Forgot to take a picture but the Crew wings were garlicky and amazing! Also enjoyed the kalbi bbq and kalbi soup, along with the buldak omelette (new item). The alcoholic beverages like the watermelon hwachae and matcha honeycomb amakgeoli were such interesting flavor combos that worked together nicely. The hwachae literally had an entire watermelon in there; felt like never ending watermelon but very refreshing. Service was pretty good despite there only seeming to be one guy working the front. He looked a bit overwhelmed but was otherwise nice and attentive. Place itself is pretty small and you have to find street parking.

Yelp
I came across this place on TikTok while looking for a good Korean restaurant in the Bay Area. I was especially craving the seafood pancake and honeycomb makgeolli, so I ordered those along with the galbi and steamed egg. Everything exceeded my expectations, especially the seafood pancake. Usually when I order it at other restaurants, it comes out soggy and lacks seafood. The pancake from The Crew is hands down one of the best I've had. The honeycomb makgeolli was exceptionally tasty too, aside from the fact that I had bits and pieces of the wax stuck in my mouth. The waiter was very attentive and brought out the food quickly! I would definitely come back!

Yelp
A small intimate restaurant that has decent street parking and most recommended for dinner, as it opens till 1am! Absolutely loved the tteokbokki, incredible flavor profile, was probably most notable for me. They're known for the honeycomb rice wine; it was very sweet and enjoyable! The waiter brought out the honeycombs itself and cut them for us, it was an original experience. (^-^*)/ The galbi and spicy pork were delicious as well, marinated and seasoned pretty well. It's nice to pair it with the purple rice! The wings fell a little flat for me even though it was a menu favorite I think I've just had better wings elsewhere, it was a bit too salty. Lastly, corn cheese you can never go wrong with at any Korean restaurant. Nice to go with a group to share amongst the dishes, especially the meats!

Yelp
The service was friendly and helpful. It was busy when we were there so it was a bit hard to get the server's attention at times. We were here when they were training their cooks; decided to chance it anyway. The garlic chicken wings were very flavorful. However, because there was a lot of sauce at the bottom, the chickens at the bottom weren't as crispy. I think I would have preferred the chickens tossed in the sauce and still keep it's crispness. 9/10. The bimbimbap was delicious. It came with purple rice so you know it was legit. Beef was nicely cooked. Since it came in a stone pot, I was hoping there would be some burnt rice at the bottom. There was none. Still good nonetheless. 9.5/10. The tacos were just ok. The tortilla wasn't holding very well so all the meats was falling out and the tortilla was turning into mush. The flavor itself was pretty mid. I think it would have been better if they used toasted corn tortilla. 4/10. The banchan was less than other Korean resturants I've been to and their variety was small. Out of all of the dishes they had, I was only able to eat the kimchi and fish cake.

Yelp
I think I found my new late night Korean spot in the city. My wife and I were craving Korean food after watching kdramas all day. We happened to go after outsidelands and we got there just in time before peak. We were expecting overpriced entrees and appetizers but to our surprise it was all reasonable. We didn't get the honeycomb makgeolli because of me driving but all the food was so good. It all came out fresh without having to wait too long despite how busy it ended up getting. Staff is very attentive and helpful. This place is definitely the vibe whether you're there for early dinner or late night cravings.

Yelp
Walked in with a group of friends on a Korean food craving and luckily got seated right away--win! We might have gone a little overboard ordering, but zero regrets. The rice wine with honey was such a fun surprise--sweet, smooth, and perfect to sip between bites. The rose rice cakes were also a standout--chewy, creamy, and super comforting. Everything hit the spot, and the vibe was laid-back and perfect for group hangs. Definitely coming back to work through more of the menu!

Yelp
Went at 7:30pm on a Monday and there was plenty of space! We were seated immediately. The place is cozy; there's a projector playing videos, pop music playing, and chandelier lighting. There's some tables with comfy booth seating, and others with a grill. Service was friendly and very attentive. Fried chicken ($19 for 8 pieces) - crunchy and delicious sauce. We got the sweet and spicy sauce, but I'd be curious to try the garlic next time. Seafood pancake ($26) - very big. Would share among 4 people. I liked the crisp! We didn't get the mozzarella and I still liked it. King tonkatsu ($20) - yummy curry! Due to the heaviness of the food we ordered (since it was all fried), big plates, and price, I think this place would hit the spot for a late night snack after karaoke or going out with friends!

Yelp
Came here a year ago and never wrote my review lol but this is a great Korean spot! Lots of variety on the menu and it went viral a while back because of their malkguri with honeycomb and egg bomb. Got a few of their items: spicy pork intestines seafood pancake kimchi pancake with egg bomb malkguri with honeycomb and everything was really good! Very instagrammable presentations and fun for a group of friends!
google avatar

Jamie T.

Yelp
Nice place for hanging out with friends, great ambiance! We enjoyed the honeycomb rice wine
google avatar

Yelp
Cozy spot with limited seating, and very popular. Service was kind and pleasant. We got kalbi tang for this cold night. And the original makgeoli with honeycomb. The kalbi tang was ok and plain but not worth $24. They added an already shredded bone, but I had better with two bones. The makgeoli with the honeycomb for $25 had pretty good presentation but I didn't even get a buzz from that. It's probably a nice place to go with friends and snack late night, but pricy for what you get.
google avatar

Yelp
Hidden little hole in the wall Korean restaurant! Large portions of army stew (good enough to feed 3 people, comes with spam, sausage, beef, tofu, ramen and cheese). The sweet and spicy chicken wings were good but a little soggy (granted they are coated in sauce..!) The banchan had salad, two types of bean sprouts, fish tofu, potatoes and kimchi! They're currently working with a smaller staff but they're quick at coming to get our orders and serving the food!
google avatar

Eunice Y.

Yelp
Good enough as a hangout / light drinks and yap place but not the best. One of the fewer places open late though and pretty good at accommodating semi-large groups. We came here on a Friday night around 9:30 as a group of 8 people and were able to get seated right away (although we did take the last seats). The food in general is standard for Korean food in SF, and the prices are just okay. We ordered the combo set where you select 4 meat options and also ordered fried chicken wings and rose spicy rice cake a la carte. No alcohol and the total split ended up being ~$50 per person which I thought was kind of steep for how much food we ordered
google avatar

Yelp
Last visited a year ago, the robot is gone....darn. Service still top notch. Had: 1/2 order Kalbi, 1/2 order Spicy Pork, Bulgogi Hand Rolls, and Pork Tofu Soup. Brown rice and 5 Banchan with our dinner. We've never had the Bulgogi Hand Rolls before and liked them a lot, 3 to a $15 order. Diagonal street parking with plenty of other nice restaurants, drink, and dessert places located on Noriega.

Cindy K.

Yelp
This place has been on my radar for a while ever since their viral honey makgeolli but I left feeling disappointed. We came as a party of 4 and shared the army stew, rose spicy rice cakes, and spicy wings. The stew and wings were just okay - nothing memorable. The tteokbokki tasted like the $10 frozen packs you can buy at Hmart and some of the noodles were undercooked. The drinks were also just meh - the honey does melt into your drink making it really sweet but it all felt very gimmicky. Strangely, all our stomachs hurt after this meal so that wasn't great either. The server was nice and the ambiance was clean/modern but food definitely fell short of expectations.

Yelp
I went here with some friends on a Monday at 8pm and the restaurant was only half full at the time we arrived. I've never been to this restaurant before, but it's been on my list and I've been wanting to try this place for awhile now! Ok, so everything was new to me since it was my first time here, but we tried a good amount of items. My favorites that I tried that day was the Corn & Cheese Pancake, Kalbi Short Ribs, and the Sweet & Spicy Wings! I loved how crispy the Corn & Cheese Pancake was and how it held its shape together well. The Kalbi Short Ribs is always one of my usual favorites and the ones here tasted just as good like the typical short ribs. Then there's the Sweet & Spicy Wings, which is also one of my favorites! The Sweet & Spicy Wings was basically like the "star" for me that day; it is so crispy and saucy at the same time. They also have an alcoholic drink called "Makgeolli" and it comes with a freshly cut piece of honeycomb! That drink felt a little powdery, but the bitterness of the drink went well with the sweetness of the honeycomb. I'm not sure if the honeycomb was supposed to melt in the drink, so I ended up nibbling on it. I'd recommend this place! Everything I tried was good and the service seemed fast to me. It's a small restaurant and most tables looked like it can only fit a party of 2 to 4 people, so it might be a long wait if you have a larger party.

Yelp
Great service and good. Since we have large party. We cannot grill ourselves. They don't take reservations on weekends. A late night hang out spot for Sunset:

Yelp
Food - Overall food was really good and tasty. Not pictured was the seafood pancake but that one wasn't crispy and felt a little undercooked. everything else though was super flavorful and yummy Service - got seated quickly, nice servers, had to flag them down but no biggie Ambiance - cute little spot with really amazing korean music and the vibe is really nice and cute

Yelp
Came here at about 11pm on a Friday with two other friends. Unfortunately, after COVID happened, most restaurants in the city close at about 9 or 10pm. Fortunately this place was open until 1am. The restaurant was PACKED for 11pm. Luckily we were able to secure a table with minimal wait. The staff was friendly and quick to get our orders in. The menu had plenty of pictures and made ordering easy. Parking is plentiful. Inside had trendy lights which I appreciated. Below is an outline if what we ordered that night: Ban chan: 5/5, unsure if they make their own ban chan or not, but the radish squares had the right level of sweet and sour. The kimchi was not too acidic and had a good spicy to acidic ratio. Okonomoyaki fries: 4/5, nothing to boast about. I liked the skinny fries and they were quite crispy. But it lacked flavor and depth. i'd suggest trying some of the other appetizers Spicy pork: 4/5, It was lacking the "spicy" component to it. it quite mild. Pork was tender, however the organic vegetables didn't quite go well with the dish. Kalbi: 4.5/5, tender, juicy, and flavorful. I liked the sweet onions that accompanied it. Classic korean protein dish, would recommend. Seafood pancake: 5/5, not pictured but my oh my, this was the highlight of the night! It came out perfect with a beautiful dark yellow crust, topped with plentiful seafood and onions. MUST try. Overall, if you are looking for a korean restaurant during the late night hours, this is a must try!

Yelp
The only place that sells Honeycomb Makgeolli in SF, it is so popular in Korea until recently and I was so amazed they have it in SF. But we gotta talk about the food too. This place knows what Koreans eat. The Crew, is the oldest Korean restaurant in SF, since 1974. Also popular here is their Bae Joo cocktail served in a traditional hang ah ri ceramic jar, this drink is made with the most popular fruit in Asia - the Korean Pear . The perfect balance of crispness, sweetness, and juiciness, it's the perfect match for their signature soju cocktail. They have mouthwatering dishes with generous portions. We started with the Cheese Corn, ooh the cheese pull delicious. All these dishes are meant to be shared so come with your hungry best friends - the bulgogi, spicy bulgogi, pork belly, Tteokbokki, and their addictive okonomoyaki fries. The eggbomb Kimchi fried rice which I thought was a regular eggfry on top of kimchi fried rice but I was pleasantly surprised when they brought us a huge stone grill with rice in the middle and poured egg wash around the side. It was magnificent. This place is small, but this neighborhood gem is a reliable place to get bomb Korean dishes!

Yelp
My brother wanted to come here for his birthday. they don't take reservations so we decided to come right when it opens so we wouldn't have to wait. we were lucky and found parking on the corner. There's only street parking. The restaurant is tiny. I shared the kalbi tang short rib soup with my mom. It was the perfect thing to order since it was raining that day. The beef broth had so much flavor like it had been cooking for a longtime. the short rib meat was so soft and tender. I'm glad I shared. I was full after eating that. My brother ordered an army soup which he ate all by himself. He was excited and has been waiting to try honeycomb makgeolli. I tasted it. It kind of tasted like 7up to me with a large piece of honeycomb in it. It was interesting. He also ordered an alcoholic drink with cotton candy. This was a good spot. My mom liked it and she usually hates everything. Lol.
google avatar

Joseph M.

Yelp
It was my birthday yesterday and I was craving Korean food with my fam so here I am. We ordered a lot of items. We got both the honeycomb Makegeoli and the cotton candy slushy Makegeoli. The honeycomb drink was sweet, the drink itself tasted like candied sprite. The cotton candy drink also was sweet. For food I ordered the Budae jiigae, my sister and my mom ordered the original chicken wings and kalbi tang short rib soup, and my dad ordered the beef kalbi and kimchi fried rice. All of the food was pretty good. Sadly didn't get a pic of the kalbi tang soup and beef kalbi cus we were soo hungry haha. The service here was good. Food came out pretty quickly and our waiter frequently refilled our water. The ambiance has some nice neon lights with limited table seating inside. Try it out if you like. :)
google avatar

Allen W.

Yelp
Ok food - the kimchi fried rice was a little too salty and the potato pancakes too bland. The pork belly was a little dry. Parking not bad - there's street parking around.

Yelp
Stopped by on a Saturday at 11pm for a late-night bite and were seated right away, perfect for our party of 3! Every dish we tried was delicious. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the laid-back vibe made it a great spot to unwind. Can't wait to come back and explore more of the menu! FYI - you get a discount on the bill when you pay with cash.

Yelp
We have been wanting to come here ever since we heard about the honey makgeolli. We came a few months ago and there was a two hour wait on a Sunday night. This time around, we had no wait on a Thursday night. We ordered the crew wings, pink rose tteokbokki, seafood pancake, and the buddae jjigae. We also got the honey makgeolli. Kinda thought at first this wouldn't be enough for 5 people, but we didn't end up finishing everything! Loved the seafood pancake and the pink rose tteokbokki, wasn't too spicy! I could pass on the crew wings next time, they were just ok. The honey makgeolli was a fun experience, should definitely try it if it's your first time there. Overall, would come back if I was in the area!
google avatar

Lauren L.

Yelp
Went on a Weekday ~5pm, no wait. Their menu was a blend of traditional and modern takes on korean food. You could find a lot of what you'd find elsewhere like bibimbap and other meat plates, but also had like korean tacos. We got the fried chicken, bibimbap, and bulgolgi tacos. The chicken was crispy and flavorful, everything you're probably thinking about. Bibimbap had great variety, what you'd expect in my opinion but I wish it had some more flavor. But! on that note, it felt homey, like something your grandma or mom might throw together. It was comforting. The Tacos were actually sooo good. Flavor was there, the sweetness from the meat marinade and the refreshing lettuce with the siricha mayo that tied it all together. Ban Chan was also great, I'm alwayssss craving the vinegar seaweed and I'm so glad they had it here. Love the kimchi radish as well!

Yelp
I really don't like writing bad reviews, but after spending over $200 (with tip) on a takeaway dinner for four, I have to say something. The Crew used to be great before the remodel--now it's just overpriced and disappointing. We ordered Kalbi (x2), Bulgogi, Japchae, Tteokbokki, and a Kimchee pancake. Almost everything tasted salty and reheated, not freshly made. The kimchee pancake was soggy and soaked in oil, and we got just one tiny portion of banchan (pictured). Really? Worst of all, the guy who took my order was rude and could care less for my business --no hello, no thank you, no goodbye. Unacceptable. Never going back...
google avatar

Yelp
Cozy pocha serving up comfort Korean food and a very unique honeycomb makgeolli. There isn't too much seating inside so I wouldn't recommend going with a huge group (probably 6/7 max). It was packed even on a Tuesday night, and overall it was a great casual vibe! The honeycomb makgeolli is a must order. Each piece of honeycomb is $10, but it could easily be split between 2-3 people (just need to ask). The drink tastes best if you break down the honeycomb into the drink first. We got the original but I was super curious about their other flavors! We ordered the combo of meats (comes with soup), and all of them were not bad. My favorite was the galbi because it was the most flavorful, but it was hard to eat since it was a bit tough. The seafood pancake was yummy (actually packed with seafood) but took quite a long time to come out so we were waiting for a while. The rose tteokbokki was a hit! It's packed with noodles, rice cakes, and sausage. Definitely recommend ordering. While not cheap, The Crew would be a good option for a chill late night dinner + drinks with friends. Service was pretty good; on the slower side at times and not super attentive always, but fine for a casual establishment.

Yelp
Saw this place all over my Instagram and TikTok so had to check it out! Food was great! Parking was a little difficult to find but not too bad if you come earlier. There was only one more table dining when we got there on a weekday around 6:30 ish. They do turn down the lights after a certain time which makes the vibes more like a lounge than a dinner spot. We split a honeycomb into two pieces instead of having a full one each (saves money too!) I love the concept and loved the honey slowly dissipating into the drink, however I felt like the wax was really hard to remove and the bits kept getting stuck (swallowed oops)
google avatar

Kaycee C.

Yelp
Came out here with my sister and husband for a quick bite before heading to the beach. The food here is really good, we tried the bibimbap (beef) with the cheese corndog and the fried chicken wings. The food and service were very good, but it was pricey for what it was.
google avatar

Ruby C.

Yelp
Came here on a Monday night for dinner and everything was delicious! We came right around the time it opened so we got seated right away. Ordered the Korean cheese balls which were so chewy and fluffy since it had a mochi-texture on the outside. The seafood pancake was also delicious and some of the best I've ever had, highly recommend ordering this! The rose tteokbokki was also good but I wouldn't say it was mind blowing. Got some makgeolli for drinks but decided to skip the honeycomb since it was $10 for one piece. Overall a great Korean restaurant and definitely a place to check out in the sunset! It does get crowded once it gets closer to dinner time to expect a wait or just go early.
google avatar

Kimberly Y.

Yelp
Food is good but not the cheapest. Pretty big portions, but still not the best value I love their tteokbokki; it's the reason I keep coming back. The rice cakes are very chewy and the right amount of spicy for me (I can only handle so much). The tofu soup is also really tasty and comforting, though a bit bland the most recent time I've been there. I do prefer it without beef though. I thought the Kalbitang was decent, but my friend found it a bit too fatty and rich for her. The kalbi is just okay; for 8-9 pieces for $30, I thought it would be yummier. Be ready for lines. Even on a Tuesday night, we took the last table around 6:30 pm and there would consistently be 1-2 tables waiting outside for the rest of the dinner service. On Friday night, we probably waited 30-40 minutes outside and it was very cold outside. I wouldn't recommend coming here with more than 4 people unless you come before 6 pm. Definitely need to flag servers down, and they can take a while.
google avatar

Nancy D.

Yelp
The food here was great! I went with a group of 6 and there was no wait on a Thursday night. The server was so nice and was patient with our ordering. We got the chicken wings, kimchi pancake, army stew, rose toekpokki (our fave). We also got the honeycomb maekgoli which was yummy! Super sweet but we drank it all anyways. I highly recommend this place in the sunset and there's a good amount of parking nearby.
google avatar

Richard C.

Yelp
Great place! Clean, friendly staff, and YUMMY food! We had Kalbi, Soon Dubu, Japchae, Dolsot Bibimbap, and more and they were all delicious.
google avatar

Karen L.

Yelp
It's a nice small place. The service is good. The food is pretty expensive. The seafood pancake was really good. I ordered the rose tbek-something ramen dish and didn't care for it. It was sweet and the soup was too thick for the ramen to cook right so it was partially uncooked and chewy. The other soup/ramen dishes everyone else ordered was ok. I would only go here again for the seafood pancake.

Yelp
Hands down one of my favorite Korean spots in SF. The food is just so amazing and at a relatively decent price. I've been here twice now and my repeats have been the pig intestines and the seafood pancake. It's not your typical korean interior for late night vibes but the food just hits the right spots that it's always going to be a repeat on my list!!

Yelp
I came here on a Friday night with a friend. There wasn't a wait and we got seated very quickly. We were excited to try the Makgeolli Pot with Honeycomb, and we ordered the Kimchi Fried Rice with Beef to pair with it. The Kimchi Fried Rice came in a stone pot. We assumed the rice would be sizzling but it was the same as if it would come on a plate. The flavor was amazing and the beef was so well integrated into the tanginess of the kimchi. It was a great pairing with Makgeolli. The waiter came to our table with a wooden plank of fresh honeycomb and cut it in front of us. This was so cool to watch! The honeycomb went so well with the makgeolli since we got the original flavoring and it was a bit bitter. Once you let the honeycomb sit in your drink for a while, it mixes very well. The portion of the Kimchi Fried Rice was so big, that it filled two people! Although the atmosphere was quite loud and hard to hear what each other was saying, I had a great experience! I would come back again to try other dishes!

Yelp
Came here on a weekday and the place was pretty slow. Staff was nice and attentive! Star of the show was the tofu soup and garlic wings! Would love to come back next time with a bigger group to try out their seafood pancakes and other items!

Yelp
Come with a small group and order a bunch of different dishes to share, including the honeycomb makgeolli! Some of our favorites are the potato-cheese pancake and tteokbokki- I prefer the rosé version here over their regular because their sauce is on the mild side (not spicy enough for those who who prefer to have the kick) but rice cakes are a good chewy texture.

Yelp
4.24.24 Dinner post pickleball session around 8pm - no wait. This spot reminds of your typical Korean bar, but serves more than your typically fried foods. I came to try their soup and seafood pancake. FOOD: They have your traditional Korean food - tofu soups, kalbitang, various pancakes, kalbijim, and they also offer kbbq. We opted for: - banchan: they offer a pretty good selection and the kimchi was fresh. - seafood pancake: we were pretty impressed with the size, taste and generous amount of seafood. I would say top 3 seafood pancakes I've had - and I've had my fair share of seafood pancakes - I ALWAYS order seafood pancakes at Korean restaurants :) - tofu soup mild: this was the perfect amount of spiciness and came with an raw egg as usual and a plus for including purple rice. - kalbitang: I always order this as it is my fav type of Korean soup. But their was okay. It didn't come with much glass noodles and did not come with egg strips or the wasabi soy sauce to dip the ribs. The flavor of the soup was pretty good overall. AMBIANCE: Neon signs and dark vibes so the late night bar scene. Not the biggest spot, I can imagine it can get pretty busy here during the weekend nights. SERVICE: Very friendly waiters! Verdit: I would return to try their other items.

Yelp
I came here one night with my family out of curiosity since we always passed by the restaurant and saw it was packed. From the moment we stepped inside, the dim lighting and relaxed ambiance made it feel like the perfect spot for an intimate dinner or a chill night out with friends. The kimchi fried rice is one of the best I've ever had, especially with mozzarella added. The rice was perfectly cooked, with just the right balance of tangy, spicy, and savory flavors, all topped with a golden fried egg. The ddukbokki is another standout--chewy rice cakes in a spicy-sweet sauce that delivers just the right kick. I also highly recommend the galbi! It was incredibly tender and marinated to perfection, with a smoky, charred flavor that's simply unforgettable. There was so much more I wanted to try but couldn't fit in my stomach. I'll definitely be back again!

Yelp
Delicious late night Korean spot to satisfy all your cravings! Highly recommend their korean cheeseballs as an app, it had a mochi like texture which I loved. Their army stew was huge and super filling. Seafood pancake is a must too, super crispy and yummy!

Yelp
Finally! A place to try in the Sunset. This Korean restaurant has all the staple Korean foods to eat including tofu soup and kbbq. This place is pretty small so there's probably always a wait. Galbi Tang (4/5): this dish includes beef brisket, bone, noodles, and egg. This was Korean soup has the best galbi tang broth I've ever had. It was soothing and flavorful at the same time. However, I thought it lacked the amounts of meat and noodles. Korean Cheese Balls (5/5): This mochi ball was basically a Korean Mozarella ball, it was cheesy na flaky at the same time. Chicken Tonkotsu (5/5): The sauce was sweet and paired well with the chicken. The chicken wasn't too dry, but it was very plentiful. Honey comb ice cream (4/5): This honey comb was a bit too sweet for me. Definitely check this place out.

Yelp
The crew is located in the sunset district. We went on a Friday night and parking wasn't too bad! I was actually surprised to see how not packed it was. We were craving Korean food and appreciated how late this place opened. Immediately walking in, it felt like cool pocha vibes. Their playlist was soooo good. I also would say they have really good experience. The waiters checked in on us often and refilled our banchan multiple times. The salad was my favorite! As for the food, I would rank it a 7/10. It was decent but nothing too crazy. Ranking the items we got (best to least): Seafood pancake, pink rose tteokbokki, kimchi jjigae, and then the kimchi fried rice. The seafood pancake was doughy and lots of toppings! I really enjoyed it. The pink rose tteokbokki had that perfect creamy carbonara flavor. The tteok was a bit overcooked tho but the long noodles was a perfect texture. The kimchi jjigae was decent! My boyfriend thought it was too fermented but I thought it was perfect. Not that much kimchi in the soup and it felt a bit thick. The kimchi fried rice was ok... we got it with beef and the egg drop. The egg was cool but I felt like I couldn't really taste the beef. I marked it down a star since I felt like it was a bit overpriced for the quality but overall, decent food. I would want to try their drinks next time!

Yelp
Had a nice time checking this place out on a late Monday night. It's street parking and next to the Tiki Haven bar. Cool vibe and friendly staff. We ordered Japchae and Tofu Soup and paid around $50 (including tip). One star off when they did not know the origin of "The Crew" name. But definitely a cool place for late night SF eats! Check out "The Crew" Yelp squad!
