The Crocodile Hunter Lodge

It's expensive but worth it! You get 'free' zoo access while you stay with an excellent shuttle bus service. We had a red kangaroo lodge with one bedroom which was very lovely indeed. Rear veranda had loungers and was very private. The kitchen was well equipped. Towels were provided for the pool at the main building which was great. You can watch animals from the infinity pool. Architecture and the grounds were lovely and well thought out. Staff were mostly brilliant and very helpful. There was a lovely bag of goodies to take home in the lodge as well.

Stunning. Well equipped cabins with lots of roo visitors each day. I was travelling with my two boys (9 & 4) and was worried they might wreck the place and there may be some pretentious vibes. Absolutely not the case - staff were all wonderful, helpful and welcoming. The price tag may seem steep, but with free admission to Australia Zoo for every day you’re there (including check in and check out days), restaurant credit, really nice touches (like a piece of art from Robert Irwin) and then the proximity to Australia Zoo this place is a no brainer. We spent mornings at the zoo and then the heat of the day by the pool in the afternoon.

Absolutely divine! Beautifully relaxing atmosphere, friendly staff always ready and willing to help with any query. Restaurant and food was amazing. Can't beat waking up with the birds and wildlife, breakfast & dinner watching the kangaroos & koalas, or even relaxing in the pool while the koalas feast in the trees next to you. Highly recommended staying here.

A truly TOP quality experience. Everything about The Crocodile Hunter Lodge oozes effortless quality. Pre check in the reception team were in contact with me to ensure they were ready for my visit and they pre booked a table in the restaurant and other services for me. On arrival everything about the premises was cool contemporary and effortless. The location is superb and the fact there is wild life everywhere is a real bonus. The reception team were super friendly and Kim went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed for our visit and also gave great local advice about travel and services after we left the lodge. The infinity pool and patio area at the back of the lodge is awesome with Emu, Kangaroos and Koalas to keep you company whilst you swim or sip drinks. The restaurant and breakfast room have very friendly staff and offer a wide range of high quality delicious foods with a good wine list. The guest rooms were very modern with natural elements added in key places. There was great lighting and AC if required. They were really well appointed with lots of nice touches like Irwin artwork, tasty treats on arrival, Irwin books and literature, excellent range of teas and coffees in the room, a good range of bath products including a snazzy Dyson hairdryer for my wife. There is plenty of parking at your room or in the main lodge car park. TOP TIP - If you're staying here you are probably going to visit Australia Zoo. Your visit to the lodge allows you access to the Zoo on the day you check in and also the day you check out. You can easily park your car for free at the lodges main reception before you formally check in and take the free shuttle bus that goes the short distance between the lodge and the zoo all day. This maximises your time at the zoo and your time at the lodge allowing you the best of both experiences.

This place is amazing. The attention to detail in the cabins is incredible. The beautiful photographs by Robert and books by Terri about Steve and their journey were heartwarming and absolutely lovely. The cabin is more like a luxurious home, with all the mod cons. The pool overlooks a manicured lawn with relaxing kangaroos, emu and koalas. Hats off to the chefs at the restaurant, our dinner and breakfast was spectacular. The two days at the zoo are memories that will last forever. The entire place is a sanctuary for its residents and an educational experience for us visitors.

The cabins have been done really well. Great quality design and fit out. The staff are super friendly, the pool is amazing and so is the restaurant. If I had to pick something to improve I would say have a different lunch menu to dinner. Everything else is perfect and I would stay again. We had entry to the zoo included and a $100 voucher for dinner. Good value for money.

Our stay at the Crocodile Hunter's Lodge was unforgettable. The cabin greeted us with the fresh scent of the Australian bush, cool A/C on a hot day, and even brownies in the fridge such a warm touch! The cabin had all the comforts of home, and we woke up to a mother kangaroo and her joey right outside our window. Dinner and breakfast were delicious, and everywhere you look, you’re surrounded by the Irwin legacy, photos, stories, and animals. A truly special experience!

We did not want to leave. It was amazing. We had a spacious two bedroom "cabin" that overlooked a waterfall and lagoon filled with crocodiles. Absolutely fabulous! The accommodations were beautiful, with full patio furniture outside, our own dip pool and a full kitchen. What a gorgeous resort. You are welcomed as you drive in with free roaming kangaroos that live there, lounging on the grass in front of the lobby. The staff was fantastic, very helpful and friendly. Once you arrive, you don't have to walk any distance to get to the lobby, as they have a buggy to pick you up at your room and bring you back to the restaurant/lobby. The restaurant was delicious and very convenient to the rooms. They have a small gift area if you want to purchase anything in the lobby. They also include entrance fees and transportation to the zoo, which is really convenient. I hope we have the opportunity to stay here again and for much longer next time. It was definitely worth every penny - so unique, so well done and so amazing.
