"What were your first impressions when you arrived? This grande dame of Commercial Street is an oldie but goodie. It's impossible to miss the columns and porticos outside, and even more impossible to miss the drag queens you'll find lingering around the property. What’s the crowd like? There's certainly a strong LGBT contingent—this is a gay institution, after all—but all are welcome here. What should we be drinking?Potent, cheap pours. Main event: the food. Give us the lowdown—especially what not to miss. There's a restaurant and bar menu here, but you'd be better served by enjoying a couple of drinks by the pool and grabbing lunch elsewhere. And how did the front-of-house folks treat you?Extraordinarily warm and welcoming. Most of the bar staff has worked here for years—they're a wonderful resource to ply for local tips and insider info. What’s the real-real on why we’re coming here?In the early afternoon, grab a spot by the pool and enjoy a few drinks under the sun. Later in the day, cash in on one of the happy hour specials and sing along to the live piano music before catching the last ferry back to Boston."

"Yes, it’s in a beautiful historic home, and the rooms are clean, quiet, and quintessentially New England, but people don’t stay here for luxury. They stay here for the location: Most rooms offer views of the water, and the premises is smack-dab in the middle of the action on Commercial Street, literally steps to the Boatslip, where Provincetown’s most popular tea dance takes place."

"As if summering in Cape Cod wasn’t enticing enough, Chatham Bars Inn will be extra exciting for any science and wildlife enthusiasts in your group. The Cape is known for its great white sharks, and there’s no better way to play citizen scientist than out in the field, gaining a better understanding of these majestic creatures. Book a charter with Atlantic White Shark Conservancy, as seen on Shark Week with biologist Greg Skomal, and choose a one-hour receiver excursion (from $50 per person) or go big with a private expedition for up to six passengers (from $2,500). Guests will have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to assist the AWSC with its tracking and tagging of great whites. Back at Chatham Bars Inn, meanwhile, landlubbers can indulge in a private beach stroll just steps from shingle-style oceanside cottages, clambakes at the Beach House Grill, whale watching and lobstering, and jaunts into nearby Provincetown. Book now: Cottages from $585 per night; skylark.com" - Nina Kokotas Hahn

The service was exceptional. The inn has a common area, they call the library. It was so comfortable and accessible. One of my favorite parts was the outside deck which overlooks P-towns commercial street. Great people watching. Rooms were clean and comfortable. The food was innovative and delicious. This is the only place I would stay again in Provincetown.

We just stayed at the C&A for eight nights to experience Carnival Week 2023. Third time staying here for Carnival. AMAZING experience. The new ownership just gets it. They’ve done a lot of upgrades and improvements. The new guest lounge area with the balcony overlooking Commercial is a great addition. Anything we needed, the staff was very accommodating. The new restaurant menu is VERY good. Really fun parties at night and a great pool during the day. Will definitely be back! Thank you C&A for the BEST Carnival Week yet! ❤️❤️

I came for a Dina Martina show. She was excellent. I had a great time. The theater itself was very basic. The bartender was nice. The bar was also very basic. Seats were slightly uncomfortable. I would return for the right show.

Cannot describe how amazing their pool parties are. We enjoyed events at this location back to back 2 days. Nice place to hang with friend and enjoy their nice cocktails with reasonable pricing. Their night time shows are also amazing. We attended a show with our nephew and he loved it. People work there are very friendly, helpful and sassy lol. Overall convenient location, good pool and good bay view with great cocktails.

Words cannot describe how wonderful a place this is! Jonathan and Paolo have been such great owners of the crown and anchor and it shows not only in their establishment but also in their staff. I always feel welcomed by the staff at the crown and anchor each time I visit. Never had any issues and always enjoyed my time seeing the piano bar and ticketed shows. And the food is very delicious! Keep up the great work Jonathan and Paolo! Myself as well as the Ptown community are so very grateful for you both.

One of my favorite places in town. The place speaks for itself, you just have to check it out to see for yourself. They have nightclubs, a restaurant, many bars, and a hotel. I enjoy the nightclub quite a bit. What a wonderful place for free expression and a fun time. Especially fun during 4th of July or carnival week :)

The hotel staff and pool staff get 5 stars. But all rest was disappointing from filthy stair carpeting to thread worn bath linens. Some days our room was made up and other days it was not. This is an entertainment venue with hotel rooms above. Lots of noise. We were awaken every morning by the garbage truck coming to pick up dumpster trash and bar bottles from the day before. We won’t return.

Sunday Drag brunch. Talent was 10/10 But it is set up so they perform 1 song each per hour. So you arrive and sit Down and order your drinks and food. The 4 queens do 1 song each and you drink and eat and the whole thing is done in 30 minutes. Ummmmm I’ve never spent such little money at a drag brunch. Because I only had 1 drink and only got to tip each queen for one song each. Normally you are at a drag brunch 70-90 minutes have 3-4 drinks and tip the queens each $20+. There poor queens are sitting off stage for 55 minutes an hour doing nothing. Does that make sense? Let them perform. Let us get drunk and give them the tips they deserve. Love me.
