Authentically St. Louis.
Littered with pop culture, punk rock, and St. Louis flare this divey haunt serves up some solid eats.
When you walk in, the walls are inundated with artwork and an old school movie is on the projector. Menus are printed in old record books.
We got some cheese curds and fried pickles to start. The fried pickles are chunked up spears which is amazing. i love fried pickle spears. They were crispy, salty, and still super juicy. Plus, the sauce was wonderful. The cheese curds were just as great. Please, dip them in the tomato jam! It is sweet, savory, and acidic. Absolutely beautiful.
The steak sandwich was great as well. A nice ciabatta roll with crispy onions, medium rare steak sliced thin, and some jalapeno cheese sauce. Absolutely wonderful.
All of the workers were wonderful. I am not sure if they all share roles, but we did not have just 1 server. Every server would periodically check in, give refills, take orders, etc. Not sure if that is the norm but I thought it was a cool concept to have communal serving.
All in all, an amazing spot. Not upscale, not stuffy. Just a welcoming eatery for any and all to enjoy some wonderfully executed bar fare!
