I recently saw this place pop up on my feed and thought I'd give it a try this morning. Holy joe, what a great find! I was prey menu-focused s as I walked in, and Cooper was very helpful guiding me through the sweet and savory selections (which are DEEP), and the drink choices. I elected to try the house black tea blend, which is one of the most interesting house teas I've seen.
I was leaning toward the "Vermont," which featured maple butter, walnuts and cream cheese, but Copper pointed out a special featuring fresh apple butter, and I couldn't pass that, so took both. As I was waiting for my order, I saw Amy, one of the associates there, trimming the edges of some freshly-baked crumpets and asked if they ever repurposed them. "Compost, mostly" she replied and I gathered my order to dine on the patio.
The outdoor seating area is clean, covered, and likely a hot spot in the summer. On a cool, dreary day it was perfect for enjoying sweets and tea. The music was practically out of my own playlists, and set such a cool vibe both inside and out. The place is immaculately clean, with understated decorations that allow focus on you and your food.
Once I had finished, at least everything but the considerable maple butter walnut leftovers, Any came out to check on me, offering a napkin full of the cut scraps to scoop up the sweets with. I was really touched at the sweet gesture, but honestly, it kinda felt right in character for the mood of the place.
Needless to say, I expect to spend many more weekend mornings there, and hope you'll give them a try too.
