The Best New Restaurants to Try This Fall | Bon Appétit

"Led by James Beard–nominated chef Thai Dang in collaboration with Lettuce Entertain You, this River North spot expands beyond Dang’s Vietnamese focus into broader Southeast Asian cuisine with shareable plates like sugarcane beef wrapped in betel leaves, clay pot lobster pad Thai, and crispy prawn toast served on Chinese donuts; for Dang it’s a full-circle moment after starting his career with Lettuce Entertain You." - ByKate Kassin

Great spot, good energy and solid food. Make a reservation as this place is busy. Food comes out quick. Service is a bit slow, but not egregious. Great flavors and presentation. The soup was flavorful and a bit spicy but not overwhelming. The steak was cooked perfectly and the sauce made it excellent. The sticky rice was a nice bonus on the side.

This cute thai restaurant can be classified as an upscale thai dining with an amazing atmosphere. The waiters are super friendly which elevates the experience to a new level. we had the pad thai with shrimps, chicken satay, yellow curry with shrimps and the sauteed vegetables. The portions were great for sharing, flavors were on point. I would absolutely recommend trying it if you are into thai cuisine.

An excellent Thai restaurant in Paris Papaya salad was quite good despite not being Thai spicy (you can ask for some chili and fish sauce to your like) The angus beef was excellent and its dipping sauce as well. My chicken green curry was a little watery but quite tasty. All in all, tables are too close to one & another but the place is enjoyable Happy to come back and taste different food again! Too bad it misses Thai spiciness tho!

I’m Thai, and I can say the flavors are authentically Thai. However, some ingredients are a bit off—for example, Pad Thai should have garlic chives (ใบกุ่ยช่าย), not coriander (ผักชี). The service could also be improved. When paying by card, the machine prompts for a tip of 10–20%. This feels unnecessary—we’re not in the USA. At the very least, it should clearly give the option to select “No tip.” in a SMALL corner. The prices are quite expensive compared to other Thai restaurants in Paris.

Such a big surprise this spot!! I want to go back and try the other dishes as soon as possible! Plus the desserts are 🔥🔥🔥 The service is way beyond Paris avarage. Love it♥️

The only thing crying after a lunch at Crying Tiger is you—out of joy! I had a flavorful chicken satay with a fresh coriander salad, paired with their homemade iced tea (not sugary at all, just as I like it). A perfect combo for a warm Saturday afternoon. I’m not usually a big fan of Thai food, but this was one of the best experiences I’ve had in the genre. The staff were friendly, smiling, and fast, and the mixed crowd of locals and shoppers gave the place a great vibe. We didn’t manage to get a table outside—our fault for not booking—but it hardly mattered. I’ll definitely come back next time I’m in the 6th!

Food is good, not the most authentic, and also on the pricey side. The sausage appetizers are to die for though. Cocktails? Kinda needs more kick.
