Experienced my first show here as a VIP for 311.
We were able to enter the VIP section early, only to check in and receive wristbands. Then had to wait in a long line outside on the street. Once the doors opened we moved very slowly into the club. The inside area designated for VIP was lackluster, to say the least. We had our own spacious bathrooms, and a bar, but nowhere to lounge or do anything really. Plus it was really dark. Everyone piled up at the bar inside, totally missing the quiet one outside the door! No wait for me. The drinks were pretty strong for venue drinks. It had been advertised on Facebook that Fuzzy's Tacos were going to be free, but they weren't. They were the only food stand in the VIP section that I could see. Everything else was in general admission -including the merch tables. The best amenity offered was the divided pit. GA had stage right, VIP had stage left. I was able to get right up front, and that rarely happens for me at 311 shows. 311, Karl Denson's Tiny Universe, and Fortunate Youth sounded incredible!
Although I love Ybors antique charm, this venue is incredibly outdated. I would revisit but without paying extra for VIP.
