Very knowledgeable staff, with a great selection of both true leaf and blended teas. When I had questions about their oolongs, David took the time to explain the steeping process and even gave us a demonstration and tasting. Wonderful selection of artisan tea accoutremants. A must see experience for the tea enthusiast or someone new to tea wanting guidance.

I love this place. I bought some matcha from here and I am obsessed with how good it tastes. I just called to ask if they carried a product, they didn’t but the person who answered helped me with some tips on the matcha and recipe I want to try. Highly recommend this place and I will be returning for more teas!

I visited Culture Cup Tea Store for the first time with my daughter, and it was a wonderful experience. All the employees were incredibly kind and welcoming—they made us feel like family, as if they had known us forever. They took their time with us and showed us a variety of teas to try. We sampled three of them! As someone from the Middle East who is very familiar with tea, I was surprised by how unique and different their teas were. We ended up buying several, and we’ve already tried two—it was excellent. I made iced tea using the Mango Tango blend, and it was out of this world. The flavor was amazing! I also brewed the French Blue tea as a hot morning tea, and we absolutely loved it. I live in Houston, but I honestly cannot wait for my next visit!

This is a nice place. If you are a connoisseur of teas, this the perfect place to go. On Saturdays they do tea tastings. I'm not a tea person but I'm this is a great experience. (Saturday 8/16/2025)

The Cultured Cup is one of those truly special, locally owned shops that once you discover, you want to share it with everyone you know. Every visit is a unique experience, and you can feel and taste the love and knowledge that the team has for these products. Be sure and ask questions - they love sharing their extensive knowledge and introducing people to new things. I appreciate how they give back to the community, especially at the TEXSOM Awards and conference - you always add a little pep in my step on those long days! And these sugar hearts for the side of a loved ones tea cup are such a great Valentines Day idea! See you soon!

This place is heaven on earth for every kind of tea lover, from casual drinkers to tea snobs like me. They have a wide variety of high-quality teas. The staff are very knowledgeable and can provide very educated recommendations. I trust them so much that sometimes I come in, describe my taste, and blindly ask for them to give me a couple ounces of a tea they recommend. They always provide me with a tea that perfectly matches my taste! I highly recommend the mountain stream oolong, strawberry goji oolong, and ancient tree tea (black tea).

Google
Just left the cultured cup with tons of new teas to try! Tom helped us and was so knowledgeable and helpful. I am new to tea and he helped me along explaining each one, their notes, and provided such great service. They had such a wide variety to choose from, from classic flavors to floral to spiced, it was hard to narrow down my search! So glad I found this place I will definitely be back!!

Yelp
This inconspicuous tea shop is located at the corner of a small strip mall in a business district along a side street. Frankly, it's easy to miss if you blink, but doing so would deny you the opportunity to view a wide assortment of teas and accessories. As someone who can be described as an avid consumer of tea, I will never pass up a chance to replenish my supply. When you walk in you can readily see the metal containers adorning the shelves. They have an excellent selection of Japanese green, black, oolong, matcha, and other herbal loose leaf teas. Regardless of individual tastes, there is something for everybody and everything you need to brew it, from clay kettles, electric water boilers, cups, and other drinkware The staff were quite friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful, which made my visit all the more memorable. Moreover, they seem to embrace tea culture, which spans the globe from England to South Africa and all the way to the eastern fringes of Asia. After browsing tentatively for what seemed like an eternity, vacillating between Japanese green and herbal teas, I wound up selecting a bag of kukicha, a mildly toned Japanese green tea consisting of both stems and leaves. So, whether you're a casual tea drinker, or a bold connoisseur seeking a new adventure, steep yourself in knowledge and pay them a visit!

Yelp
We order from California! They have amazing tea and as dedicated iced tea drinkers we are always trying new teas through them. The coconut cream iced tea is our favorite along with Marco Polo, black orchid etc. we love purchasing from and supporting small business. They have amazing products and if you are a tea lover you will not regret purchasing from this company!

Yelp
I went here for the first time last week to check out their tea selection. I received great help from the guy working there, who recommended some new teas for me to try (which I really enjoyed). I look forward to checking this place out on Saturday when they do free tastings!

Yelp
This place is a jewel. Delicious tea and coffee for sampling, a well informed staff and a relaxed atmosphere. Tom was hospitable and made our visit a five-star experience.

Yelp
Overall thoughts: Fantastic service, and great quality teas! If you love having a variety of loose leaf teas, but don't want order it off the internet or from big chains, please support the Cultured Cup! My friend took me here because I was low on loose leaf tea, and new to the area. I'm so glad I came here! Everyone was so kind and we ended up looking and and smelling lots of different teas! The gentlemen that helped us had some really great recommendations, and did not push us to hurry up. I ended up buying 3 different kinds of tea! The mango tango, Goji Berry Green, and Baked Apple Almond. So far I've tried the Baked Apple Almond, and it felt like a warm hug in a cup! The flavors were rich, and smooth.

Yelp
When you walk into this location you are greeted with the most beautiful smells that puts your mind at easy. The service is amazing the people there will explain everything too if it your first time or if your an experienced tea drinker they will help you with everything. They have a huge tea and coffee collection you are bound to find something that you like. So if you in the mood for some tea or want to get introduced to it this is the place to be.

Candace N.

Yelp
We weren't sure what to expect when we walked in - looking for a Christmas gift. The store is very cute and the staff were very knowledgeable about the teas. They do tastings every Saturday, we tried 2 types of tea and both were delicious! We walked out with 4 different teas, tea pot and cups! We can't wait to go back and try some more! Highly recommend!!

Yelp
I came in for raspberry caramel but left with snow Jasmine loose tea leaves, chocolate, and caramel and few samples. Hehehe I love unplanned food adventure. I sampled their macaron tea and chocolate dessert tea. They really tasted just like dessert but I prefer green tea. I smelled about five different Jasmine green tea and loved the snow Jasmine the most so I got 8oz. I didn't realize 8 oz was so much, will get 4oz next time. Customer service is subpar, I ended up staying and checking everything out. Didn't know about this place before. They sell coffeee and lose leaf teas to take home. It's a cute shop! They got tea sets and they really are the tea expert! Very knowledgeable

Yelp
We stopped here on a random Saturday to be welcomed to a tea and cookie tasting for free! This place is very small and intimate but the staff here was wonderful! I enjoyed the tea flavors and even bought some to go.

Vincent P.

Yelp
Excellent service by a knowledgeable staff that truly loves tea. We'd been looking for a solid loose leaf tea option since moving to Dallas and so happy we found one. We bought two tisanes and a black tea with almonds, and they're all outstanding. Worth the trip no matter where you are in DFW.

Yelp
Booked a private tasting for steeping here as a date! It was so so fun, learning about how the teas work, expand, temps, flavors, and so much more! Everyone there was helpful and incredibly knowledgeable about the teas, coffees, and brew methods ! We will definitely be back to buy some more teas and experience different class and tastings
google avatar

Yelp
I invited a networking contact here thinking it was a Starbuck's type of set up. Nope, it was even better. It's a tea and coffee shop that has mazing loose leaf teas. They seriously have a tea that tastes just like apple pie. The staff is wonderful, the teas are amazing and it's definitely on my list to visit often when I need to re-fill my at-home tea stash.

Yelp
This is a terrific company for finding teas, elite, unusual, you name it. BUT they ae open only only Saturday. So make a date and plan ahead.

Yelp
We had a great experience here, not only did we leave with some new, high quality teas to try but we learned something new too

Matti D.

Yelp
If you are a tea lover, you will come back to this place again and again! Loved the stories they told about the different teas.

Yelp
Fantastic, helpful employees! I went in needing some guidance on the various loose leaf tea selections. The staff was extremely knowledgeable and patient. the selection was awesome and I look forward to going back and trying some additional varietie.

Yelp
My favorite tea house in Dallas. The service is wonderful, always willing to help when your not sure what your in the mood for. Tea's are amazing I've not been disappointed with my selection. My favorite is the Mexican Cinnamon. So stroll in have a sip of tea, browse the high selection of loose leaf teas and enjoy!!

N C.

Yelp
Overall, I had a great experience. This is a hidden gem in the DFW area. They truly have a great selection of coffee and tea globally. It does take time to get everything (if you have a large order), but that is because it is fresh and they are weighting the ounces in front of you. The tastings on Saturdays are also very helpful for trying flavors you may not have bought otherwise. Love this place and will be back.

Yelp
Ordered online which was quick and easy; however, I didn't like what I ordered due to allergies. Contacted owner and it was so easy to exchange. We even decided to splurge on some coffee. Great business! Eager to visit after Covid

Yelp
This place got featured in Food and Wine, but the in person experience was what makes this place stand out to us! My wife and I came in today to do a private tea tasting with Kyle. We were blown away! It's always refreshing to see someone be passionate about something, but Kyle is truly an expert with 29 years of experience and he's a master at sharing it! I walked in with my knowledge about tea starting and ending at the "sweet" variety. I walked out actually interested and wanting to know more about and try more tea. I may still enjoy mine with a bit of sugar, but my appreciation and intrigue for this art has grown tenfold. Kyle, thanks for such a warm welcome into the world of tea! We'll definitely be back for their artisan tasting or their weekend tasting sometime soon! We also bought a couple of teas on the way out and got to "sample" a variety of unique flavors and teas that we'd love to try! The tea expert bagging our leaves had fantastic customer service! We'll be back!

Yelp
As others have said - a true hidden gem. I don't think there is another place in Dallas quite like it. I was running short on my favorite sticky rice puerh tea and it was sold out online at Silk Road Teas. I didn't expect to see puerh tea at a small shop tea shop in Dallas so I never looked. I got desperate during COVID and decided to check online. And lo and behold. Not only did they have sticky rice puerh, they had tangerine puerh!! I've only had this in Portland and was stunned to see it on their website. Not only will you find beautiful puerh tea here, you can also find Mariage Frere Tea, which is a well established tea shop in Paris. You can find Mariage at Dean & Deluca but to have it at my fingertips in Dallas made me feel incredibly spoiled. I found the website easy to navigate and the quick service to be outstanding. The Cultured Cup has curbside pickup so I hurriedly placed an order and an hour later I was able to pick up all the tea I ordered. I almost cried after brewing my first pot of sticky rice puerh tea. Thank you Cultured Cup for bringing some calm and peace into my world during these crazy COVID times.

Yelp
This was a very nice little tea shop and the staff was extremely friendly. The teas they suggested we're fantastic. I really enjoyed my Mississippi black tea, the Orchid dew, the Silk Road Pu'erh, And my favorite the ancient tree black. Looking forward to ordering more tears from this true gem of a shop! ~Shad Chancey at JustAnotherTeaBlog.com

Yelp
Experienced and knowledgeable staff. We are so lucky to have The Cultured Cup in Dallas! I love their Silver Needle tea (it's a staple at our Mahjong games), Goji Berry Green, Rouge Métis and Uni-tea. To be honest everything I've tried is fantastic. Make sure you buy some Texas Turtles, if they have them in stock. You can thank me later.
google avatar

Yelp
Great little tea shop with a good variety of both tea and coffee. I am super partial to Mariage Freres french tea and love that I can go to a place, locally, and smell/sample the tea before buying it! Highly recommend this place if you are a tea lover!

Yelp
I've been using The Cultured Cup for years. The education and knowledge these two business owners have on their products is spectacular. Go down for a tasting or order a small batch online. This place is wonderful.

Yelp
Great Tea shop! a little out of the way but clearly one of the best selections I've seen in a long time Not to be missed.

Yelp
This place is a tea lovers dream. Talk about a lesson on all kinds of tea in a good way. I felt like I was transported to NYC or Chicago because there were so many offerings and the tea czar(yep, I just coined that) was just willing to let you taste a variety of teas and give a history on the tea. Plus, they have tea cookies to munch on if you go on Saturdays. I went there for a ginger tea but was sold on a roobias tea from South Africa. Talk about make my stomach settle in minutes and it didn't need sugar. Yass!!! I purchased 4 ounces and left a happy tea lover. I also tried a white resiling tea which was light. Oh and they have quality coffee for the coffee drinkers. This little place that is in a shopping cen

Yelp
Recently entertained drinking tea. After doing an Internet search The Cultured Cup fit my needs. I was met by one of the staff and introduced to some of basics. I've been back several times all a while learning about teas. Ask questions and sample them all. The staff, the selection, and pricing are great. A Great Find on any day.

Yelp
I order from the Cultured Cup purely online. They carry a decent selection of Mariage Freres, which I love. I'm so glad I found them. They are very quick to ship out your order. I had to contact them once because UPS did a weird thing where they said my order was delivered, but it wasn't. Sean was quick to try to help and offer solutions. In the end, I got my order, but it's nice knowing they stand behind quality service. I'd love to stop by their store if I'm ever in the Dallas area.

Yelp
This place is a Dallas treasure! Been going for 25 years. Amazing tea, tea ware, and hospitality!
google avatar

Sabrina A.

Yelp
This place is for all the tea lovers out there. I've been looking for a place to get authentic tea for a while and finally found this place, definitely wasn't disappointed, there's a huge selection of loose leaf teas with different herbs, spices, flowers and dried fruits, they let you sample them too before you buy. I got the jasmine pearls and lavender tea last time and they lasted me a long time. Can't wait to go back for some more tea.
google avatar

Ruth F.

Yelp
David provided essentially a one-on-one tea lesson, patiently explaining the variations of tea from white to Earl Gray. I was able to enjoy the fragrance of each type of tea as he covered the how oxygen impacts the tea. Never would I have imagined choosing a white tea, but I learned it is sweeter and lighter because it is less processed. The White Ginger tasted delicious without any added sugar, honestly not how I typically drink tea. Also purchased Wuyi Rock Oolong for its notes of molasses.

Yelp
The Cultured Cup is a tiny shop now of days in an unmarked business building, the funny thing though is that even though they're hard to find people keep coming out of the woodwork to find them. Kyle is amazingly knowledgeable about his teas and is one of the only Certified Tea Specialists in Texas. Phil has a great dry humour, and his ability to find you the right cup of coffee is spot on. When you're going in on Saturday, you get to taste the teas before you buy them, but it's not only that! You get to learn about what you're really getting, they aren't going to market a "weight loss" tea or some cure all like I have seen some other distributors do. They're going to sell you a story, the cultural origins of a tea like the Jade Goddess who blessed a devout worshipper with a single tea plant that eventually became two of the most delicious oolang teas: Amber Goddess and Jade Goddess. They will help you discover your tea, help you expand your tastes, all while engaging you and teaching you about your drinks. Since I discovered them my tea collection has grown comically large, but I drink it all! Now, it's not all sunshine, and rainbows, but it's pretty darn close! Saturday's tend to be packed! Their tea room only has four tall chairs for their bar, and there are some weekends when you're standing four deep in a small 8 by 8 room. They're also one of the only Mariage Feres distributors in States that I know of, but the trouble there is they tend to sell out of those teas very quickly, and have to wait until several of those teas are sold out before they can import more. However, Kyle is pretty good about finding an alternative if one of your preferred teas is sold out, just think of it as an opportunity to find a new favourite! My favourite part of going in on Saturdays is the fact that I get to meet so many different people. Young and old, if you go in and spend some time with Kyle and Phil you are going to walk away with a bunch of new friends for the future.

Yelp
My wife and I recently discovered this place (Gamma Road location) after hearing about it from a restaurant that served some tea that they purchase from The Cultured Cup. This location is difficult to find since there is really no sign...but it is well worth the search for it. Kyle and Phil were quite friendly we stopped in a few weekends ago without an appointment and we had a chance to ask a few questions about tea and then schedule an appointment for the following weekend for a complimentary tea tasting. The tea tasting is complimentary and Kyle will pretty much talk about whatever topic you may want to discuss as far as tea is concerned. We ended up receiving a wealth of knowledge on Chinese and Japanese green teas and sampled some really good tastings of both types. We also got to meet one of their regular customers, Anna, who had brought in some Jasmine Pearls tea that her daughter had brought back from on a recent missions trip to China. The overall experience left us feeling rejuvenated and we are excited about learning more about tea culture in the future.

Yelp
On a recent trip through Dallas a friend and I were off in search of a lovely tea, so we could sit, chat, catch up and nosh for a bit. Somehow we stumbled upon The Cultured Cup. It is in the Preston Center home to Sprinkles and lots of other trendy shops but that didn't stop us, we persevered hoping it would be good and IT WAS! Unfortunately we noticed that they didn't have any lights on. Wouldn't you know it that a transmitter just blew in the complex and no one had any lights. Bummer. They let us in to wander around anyway. The staff was wonderful! They were knowledgeable about all of the products, process and materials. Thought we couldn't have any tea as we planned we did get some gourmet chocolates, homemade marshmallows and dark chocolate hot cocoa mix togo. It was all WONDERFUL! The shop is adorable, lots of great gift items and wonderful setting for visiting with a friend! GO!

Yelp
This is not a coffee house. Came into town looking for a place to grab some coffee and relax. Stumbled across this place and was pleasantly surprised. Kyle opened his store for us even though they were 10 min from closing, and showed us his tasting room and his massive assortment of fantastic teas. We're expecting a coffee shop but this place was a tasting room for teas. Really enjoyed ourselves and Kyle's time educating us. Next time I'm in town, I will be stopping by to learn some more!!
google avatar

Mallory B.

Yelp
Very impressed with the selection of teas and knowledge of everyone that works there. I have been around loose tea my entire life and have an extensive knowledge to the point most tea shops selections bore me. This shop had some new, exciting teas for me to try plus a nice collection of classics.

Yelp
The Cultured Cup is a tiny tasting room hidden away in an office park on Gamma Rd. We were initially confused getting out of the car as there are no markings that we could see on the outside, but the address is correct - just walk in and down the hall and there'll be a sign directing you to the correct room. We called in the previous day and made a reservation for a tea tasting, and as we walked in were greeted by Kyle. After running us through the history, chemistry, and processes of the different types of tea and providing us many smells and recommendations, we were able to choose a few teas to taste, which he made for us. We sampled the Cream Oolong, the Golden Needle Black, and the Nepal White Buds white tea. Everything we tried was of the highest quality, and tasted amazing. Each sip you notice something about the flavor you missed before, with careful prodding in the right direction from Kyle. I thought I knew a lot about tea, but I learned so much more during our 1-2 hour visit than I ever have before. If you like tea, if you're new to tea, if you're looking for new tea to try- you must stop here! Kyle will tailor your tasting to your needs and you will absolutely end up going home with some loose tea that you love.

Yelp
Greetings!! Went here on Thursday to buy some loose leaf tea. Customer service is awesome the minute you enter the door. Everyone was very attentive and very knowledgeable of teas. I purchased andtried 2 delicious flavors so far and I will definitely return for more tea.

Yelp
All of your coffee and tea needs are found right here in Farmer's Branch with some of the BEST teas and coffees in the world as well as some delicious chocolates and caramels (especially the chocolate turtles, nom nom nom). I order here either online to ship to me if getting a lot, or I go to a weekend tea/coffee tasting to get one or two bags. They also have great tea prepping equipment. It is hard to find in the middle of a bunch of brown one-story office buildings, but they have a cute small tasting room to try and buy. The guys who own it are also lovely to speak with and know so much about their products!

Yelp
Cultured Cup has the potential to become a great business, but it lacks the common neighborhood friendliness of a typical Starbucks. A shame, because CC offers an impressive selection of loose teas and occasionally features decorative ceramics from the Dallas Pottery Guild. Mike L. touched upon CC's essential problem: What is supposed to be a relaxing and chic experience comes across as mysteriously stuffy and unpleasant. The general atmosphere is primarily attributable to a vaguely annoyed nonchalance plaguing many of the female operators. Several visits were made over many months and each visit left us wanting to leave about as quickly as we were drawn inside. A shame. Why bother drinking tea in the first place if the vibe isn't cordial? I find this unfortunate because several years ago, Kyle (one of the owners) was on site and freely offered advice and samples of his favorite hot brewed teas. It was a wonderful experience. However, subsequent visits have been anything but. With the recent closing of York Street and the demise of their tea tastings, perhaps the owner has moved on? Hard to say, but without his constant vigilance, Cultured Cup lacks the very thing its name implies. Tea aficionados and random gift-seekers will appreciate the selection, but otherwise should not plan on making an afternoon of it. This is a place with no time or patience for the clueless. Get in, get out, don't let the door hit you in the you-know-where. Update: Original review was written for the Preston Center location. I have not visited the new Gamma Rd location.
google avatar

Mike L.

Yelp
I got a cup of coffee from here and it was good but it wasn't made with love. It came from a really expensive machine. That to me is unacceptable. The coffee was smooth, and tasted fine, but again it wasn't made with a human touch. I'm sure it's probably really consistent, but I'll take coffee made by a well trained barista over a machine any day. My second beef is with the atmosphere. Granted, this location is in the Park Cities, but it's trying too hard to be classy. Being a middle class guy, I felt out of place and kinda wanted to vomit. While I wouldn't go here for coffee, they do offer quite the selection of chocolates that look really good. They also serve something I didn't even know existed, but sounds AMAZING called drinking chocolate. Bottom line: Go here for chocolate, not a cup of coffee. --Coffee Snob

Yelp
My girlfriend and I recently went to the Cultured Cup for a complimentary tea tasting appointment with Kyle. I knew absolutely nothing about tea going into this appointment and honestly didn't care to learn but thought it would be a fun date idea. I was a little surprised by the layout of the location because you enter through their warehouse back room where they place orders. Then, Kyle took us into the tasting room which was very nice. The tea tasting was incredible. Kyle wants to meet you where you are at as far as your tea knowledge and what you desire tea to be in your life. Kyle spent 2 and a half hours educating us about tea and allowing us to taste numerous kinds. It was incredible. Kyle was so kind and friendly and was very patient with us and our low knowledge of tea. I was surprised to find out that the Cultured Cup mainly supplies to large clients and Kyle still took 2 and a half hours out of his day to share his passion of tea with us. Overall an incredible experience that I have recommended to many other people. I will be returning to purchase more tea and look forward to growing my tea knowledge. Thanks Kyle.

Yelp
I love this place Phil and Kyle the owner are amazing- extremely knowledgeable about tea and service is always top notch They always have excellent recommendations, my favorite tea is Marco Polo Highly recommend this place

Yelp
We've been customers of The CULTURED CUP for over 10 years. We started buying their coffee and teas when they were in Preston Center, East and followed them out to their Carrollton location. Bill and Kyle are two of the most knowledgeable nicest coffee and yes connoisseurs in the Dallas area. Not only do they have a great assortment of coffees and teas but they have really cool accessories. If you've never tried them you should.
