Yelp
Four stars, even though there were problems with the food - more like 3.5, but rounding up for good service.
Drinks are a very good pour - strong, and well prepared. Sake is priced a bit on the high side.
My wife ordered short rib bibimbap, which had to go back - rice was swimming in liquid, the egg was missing, and the short rib was more of a giant glob of fat than anything else (yes, I know short rib is generally fatty, but there was virtually NO meat at all). Thankfully, the server handled it quickly and apologized. Replacement (vegetable tempura a gyoza) came quickly and were quite good.
Chirashi was a disappointment. The quality of the ingredients was good, but when the menu says "18 pieces chef's selection", I don't expect 1/3 to be shrimp and crab stick. Chirashi usually includes pickles, which were not included here and it felt as if something was missing. Fish was good, but the "chef's selection" seemed to translate to "selection of the cheapest available".
Although $15 is pricy for edamame, the portion quantity was significant, and justified the price. Hamachi Kama was well prepared, but would have benefited by using a lighter sauce (menu clearly indicated "eel sauce", so I recieved what was expected).
As mentioned, service was excellent, friendly, and available when needed. The roof patio is very nice, and the sound from the ponds drown out almost all the street noise.
