Since 1972, The Cupboard has welcomed customers in the Northern Colorado Region and in Fort Collins to embrace the purchase of home wares, kitchen appliances, spices, and dishware, in addition to cookbooks. The last time I went to this such store, I was very young, but I did remember just how comforting, rustic, and historically significant this such store is, the store has personally not changed since my last visit and still remains the premier place to shop for your home goods and appliances. My most recent visit was met with a similar feel, but new sections to adapt trends, the first floor was still home to plates, knives, cups, and coffeemakers, with the back of the store featuring home appliances and kitchen tools, but they also added portable cups from brands such as YETI and Hydro Flask to reflect interests in kitchenware in the 21st century. The second floor, which I have rarely been to impressed me, the array of cooking, and history books was a reflection of my interests and further aspirations to cook in multiple cuisines, while honoring the histories behind the dishes we make. Despite not being of the target demographic for the store, I would gladly come back to this store in the event I need a gift, or a kitchen appliance/tool.

I have nothing but good things to say about The Cupboard! This local, family-run business has nearly everything you could be looking for at affordable prices. The staff is kind and helpful, and the place is always clean and welcoming. I love when I have time to stroll through this store to get a gift for a friend, or just a bag of delicious coffee! 10/10 recommend!

Love this place! As someone who has lived here most of my life, I take pride in getting gift cards from here for my clients! It is quintessential old Town ft Collins

Google
I love this shop, they have lots of beautiful kitchenware, jams made in Colorado, gourmet food and great tableware. I bought some gifts and they did a lovely job of wrapping them for me. Nice ladies‼️

I've been shopping here for about 30 years - since I was a college kid. Back then and years-since their customer service was outstanding! The selection of products was eclectic and flavored coffee was refined and staff were very knowledgeable about product. I know, the only constant is change, but it's changed. The newer staff seem to have no experience in customer service or customer service isn't their craft. One woman said out loud, "those darn customers" at the counter as she looked straight at me and didn't take her eyes off me as I walked around. It felt slimy and verging on hate. I did not have any contact with her whatsoever. If working with the public in a quaint kitchen store in FT Collins is stressful then it's probably not the place for her. And what she said then roving me with her looks certainly isn't what I needed to hear and experience after driving from Denver and spending money here. Another experience, with a new staff member, who didn't grind my coffee beans as I requested. He simply looked at me with a blank stare and walked away. I asked an older more experienced staff member to gind the coffee beans. I have fond memories of The Cupboard but maybe that's just what they be, memories.

Google
If you enjoy the culinary arts you will love The Cupboard They have a nice selection of just about anything you might need or want in kitchen tools, books, aprons, dishes baskets, timers and what ever including old fashioned candy You can find a lot of the items that are advertised in good cooking magazines A lot of the things they sell are expensive but I went in there once looking for a special little tool that was not very expensive and wouldn’t you know they ordered it for me. The Cupboard has a talent for finding really nice people to work for them. The Cupboard has been in Colorado for many years and it is a favorite. It is pretty busy Christmas time but it is definitely worth a visit

Google
One of my favorite stores in Fort Collins over the past several years. I usually get spices, syrups, chocolates and jams, but this time, we actually found replacement parts for our Bodum French press in addition to the spices and chocolates. Such a fun and welcoming shop!

Very high quality options. A lot of cool gadgets and a great variety in many sections. I mostly come here to browse and haven’t bought much because it is pricey.

Yelp
Rude employees. I bought a bag of tea and it was stale and tasteless. Your review needs at least 85 characters. Add a few more thoughts to post review.

Yelp
I have been to this shop two times and I feel like the employees are very unfriendly. While paying for my items yesterday, I witnessed the clerk being rude to a customer. He was simply waiting for his coffee to be ground and the older clerk told him to get in line and pay while she prepared it. He told her he was fine and waited for her to finish. It was as if she was bothered he was standing there waiting. Maybe try being a little kinder to paying customers?

Yelp
Wow. What a cool place. There is a huge selection from knives to napkins and utensils. The prices are a little high, but they have a great inventory and lots of cool things. Plus, there is an entire candy counter with lots of sweets and other edibles. I wish I had one of these near my home! .

Yelp
The holiday season really snuck up on me this year, but I can always rely on the Cupboard for last minute gifts. With such a diverse array of kitchen gadgets, cookbooks, international treats, and local items like hot sauces and BBQ sauces, there's something for everyone. I also am enamored with their selection of specialty knives. Even shopping at The Cupboard during this busy time of year, I was met with incredibly kind and helpful customer service as always. And I was pleasantly surprised to hear live music when I walked in! A string quartet was playing music on the second floor of the store, which was a very sweet and thoughtful touch. It really helped to keep the holiday shopping stress to a minimum. My only wish is that the Cupboard didn't use plastic bags. I still love it, I'll just remember my reusable bag next time!

Yelp
Wow, what a great shops in downtown/old town Fort Collins. I was blown away by all the great home goods they had-- cookie cutters, table placemats, knives, baking sheets, cooking tools, dishes, marinades, bread boxes, specialty chocolates, and so much more. I was referred to The Cupboard to get vanilla bean paste (I couldn't find it anywhere--even WF doesn't carry it). While I got the vanilla bean paste, I also ended up going home with a couple of other kitchen goodies. Prices are extremely reasonable AND the staff was SO friendly. Much recommended-- I will definitely be back.

Yelp
This is our go to store for anything to do with cooking. Friendly staff, fun seasonal decor and anything you would like for the kitchen. Many unique items you just don't find in any other store. Well worth stopping by and seeing their selection.

Mary M.

Yelp
Great selection of quality kitchen cookware, and unique foods. Hard to find foods, treats, etc. A fort Collins favorite.

Yelp
Amazing place.. Every kitchen gadget and appliances, pots and pans, cooking books, linens, grilling utensils, popcorn seasonings, hot sauces, gourmet coffee & teas, colored dishware, homemade candies and way more! Give yourself time to browse..

Yelp
I simply love this place. I was just in a hurry. So, shoutout to the ladies that helped me get honey mustard, a random selection of chocolates and a Cuisinart food mill purchased in like 4 minutes flat. That was incredible.

Yelp
Whenever I visit Fort Collins, I end up getting way more excited to visit The Cupboard rather than shopping for clothes. Their variety of knickknacks is so fun to explore! We always walk in with no objectives in mind, and yet end up buying so many cute and/or useful things to take back home to Denver! The last time we came to visit, we ended up buying some coffee syrups, locally made honey, recipe books, hot sauces, and more! It's like going to a supreme Homegoods. This place was designed for kitchen superheroes, and even if you're not kitchen savvy like me, you'll definitely want to become one after visiting here!

Yelp
This is a great little kitchen store. They have a lot of cool household items. What we loved the most was their selection of craft chocolate bars, jackpot!! We could shop here often and have a really cool kitchen.

Brenda K.

Yelp
In 2016 I started taking my knives to the Cupboard for sharpening once or twice per year and they did a great job. The last few years when I get them back it doesn't seem like they were even sharpened. The last time I remember them coming back razor sharp was 2019. Since that time the quality has diminished significantly. Others in the household have also noticed and asked if I quit getting them sharpened. I am going to try taking them somewhere else.

Yelp
You know you've reached adult when spending time in a kitchen shop is the best thing ever. I remember years of being a youth visiting FoCo, walking through this store, finding nothing of interest, and going next door to satiate my interests. But now in my olden, wisen-ed age, The Cupboard is one of my favorite places to browse! They have everything here you need for a fully stocked kitchen; from dining ware, espresso machines, to hot sauces. They have a section for the boozy aspect of a kitchen, coffees & teas, to anything one can stick into a cupboard. All sorts of kitchen tools, aprons, hot pot mitts... legit everything. There is so much to look at, and fantasize about. My favorite part of the store has to be their huge selection of Fiestaware. My last few visits have allowed me to return home with some colorful soup mugs - what I love to use as giant latte mugs at home. The prices aren't bad at all for these either, and I love it. The Cupboard is the perfect shopping store for an adult. Not the best for kiddos, speaking from experience. Send the kids next door, and enjoy hours of browsing and shopping at this awesome kitchen hub.

Norah A.

Yelp
This is my favorite store in Fort Collins, hands down. They have everything you can think of in terms of kitchen gadgets, and their mug selection is the best. The reason for my rating is that they still offer plastic shopping bags! I think that's deplorable now that the city has finally decided to phase them out. Come on Cupboard! You can do better than this! This has me rethinking where I choose to spend my money.

Eileen D.

Yelp
Cute shop! I grab a good amount of Irish goods: Barry's tea, Cadbury chocolate, and black currant!

Yelp
Visiting from Texas - the customer service here is amazing. You walk in and your immediately greeted by a happy face. Tons of home, kitchen, and cooking stuff. Loved the unique Colorado items you can find as well. I love tea and I found a whole section dedicated to everything tea, which is great! You can easily spend a lot of time here since there is a lot to look at. Upstairs had items on clearance. Love my travel tea dispenser I bought from here!

Dustin C.

Yelp
This place has a little bit of everything. I loved their selections for Colorado made items. And their coffee section is awesome. The staff were so friendly. My girlfriend and I went in during a busier time and yet you got the feeling no one was stressed out, which is how it seems elsewhere. Competent and very quick. It's a great shop. Also, did I mention the local coffee selection...you can get 1/4 lb bags which is awesome, so you can try many different coffees and not break the bank. Very fun. Check it out!

Yelp
I could spend soooo much money in this place. I took my cousin and Grandma here recently and we just couldn't leave. It has so many unique things and quality cookware. And yummy chocolate. However, as much as I want to have a completely positive review... I have to say it is true. Some of the woman,Not all, But some are act like you don't belong there because it seems like you can't afford the stuff. Which is so sad.... I get the feeling I'm looked down on sometimes when I am in there. And it makes me hesitant to buy things. I almost bought some Le Creuset things for my mom. I ended up not buying it because I could get better customer service and the outlet and get it for cheaper. That being said. Other than the occasionally rude employees I love this place and make a point to stop there when I can.

Yelp
This is a store I bring my family and friends to when they come to visit (and me and my husband also visit in a regular basis). Not only is it quaint and well organized but every time someone goes in I know they can find a little something cute for their kitchen/ home, whether it's a cute piece of cookware, some vintage candy, or a cute decoration for their home :) We have gotten absolutely amazing service at this store!
google avatar

Yelp
Pros: You'll find high quality kitchen items here you may not be able to locate elsewhere in Fort Collins. They've also got a lot of imported treats, fun candies / spices / marinades, etc. Cons: Staff isn't terribly friendly or knowledgeable. Also, as others have mentioned, the store is INCREDIBLY packed, with both people and merchandise. There can be very little room to move around. Still, four stars based on their stock. They may have too much stuff crammed into that store, but much of it is good stuff!
google avatar

Sonya B.

Yelp
Very impressive independent kitchen store! From tableware to baking supplies, this place has it all. The buyers are clearly savvy because the store is stocked with high quality products, including a wide range of specialty food items from condiments to hard-to-find British foods. The extensive selection of coffees and teas are reason alone to visit. The staff is knowledgable and they keep the wide range of merchandise beautifully displayed for easy shopping. Whether you want a quick specialty candy fix or need a wonderful wedding gift, The Cupboard is a great place.

Yelp
I love this store. So much to look at, they're a bit expensive though. I like looking here but checking for better deals online. They also have a large selection of coffees and coffee flavorings including the large pump bottles of Ghirardelli syrups. They offer frequent buyer program for coffee. I live in Loveland and drive out to shop here. Worth the drive. I will add from a previous reviewer who has dealt with snide/rude customer service. I would have to agree. They do need more customer service training. A smile goes a long way.
google avatar

Ruben B.

Yelp
Really great store with lots of cool stuff for your home and kitchen....just be prepared to be shamed at the register by the super rude staff.
google avatar

Yelp
As far as cooking stores go, this one is top notch! For Christmas last year, my parents took my siblings and I on a cooking shopping spree at this store. Best Christmas present EVER! Not only does The Cupboard carry a wide variety of kitchen supplies, but they have a great selection of cookbooks on the 2nd floor. This store has yet to disappoint me (even though I've only been here twice). Most recently, I stopped in a couple weeks ago to get a birthday present for my little sister. It was easy to find both items I had in mind and I had a great time just browsing the aisles. The cupboard also has a variety of candies close tot he checkout counter. Kind of hard to resist while you're waiting in line! I'm not a Fort Collins local, but I am up in the area every so often. Any local foodies that love to cook at home should be thankful to have a place like this in the area!
google avatar

Mary S.

Yelp
Whenever we make our way to Fort Collins I always stop at The Cupboard. Love to check the gourmet food and candy section to see what I can't live without. Our last purchase included some wonderful sauces and seasonings I had never seen before. And I always find some sort of kitchen gadget I never knew I needed. I absolutely adore their collection of cast iron cook ware. 4 stars only because of the service. The staff always seems like they loathe any sort of younger crowd (I'm 28 and my husband is 33) but we would end up spending so much more if I didn't feel like we were being eyed the whole time.
google avatar

Andreas H.

Yelp
What an awesome spot that all the box stores wish they were like. The selection of food is awesome, including their oddball imports. The candle shop upstairs is fantastic, featuring some awesome local goods, and let's not forget about all the kitchenware! Whenever we visit Fort Fun, we always stop in here.
google avatar

Samantha E.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite cooking stores ever. They have everything you could possibly need, from pots and pans to flatware to flavorings. Their knives are very high quality; the have Henkel, Wusthof and ceramic. They also have everything you didn't know you needed but now desparately want-- an entire wall of kitchen gadgets that never fails to make me wish I'd recently won the lottery. They also have a great selection of cookbooks upstairs, and every type of coffee you could dream of. I lived in Fort Collins for a few years before I found this place via Sunset magazine. Now I try to go every time I'm back in town. Highly recommended.
google avatar

Rachel L.

Yelp
Dear cupboard, Thanks for being the most rawking store in FoCo. My culinary needs would not be satisfied without your knowledgeable staff, varied selection, and delicious teas. You're awesome. You even provide me with free candy. =D Oh, also, please drop the price of your cooking classes, so this poor girl can attend some. Love, me.
google avatar

Hans T.

Yelp
This Just In... They DO have Kinder Eggs in stock. They're right up front by the register at the candy counter. In plain eyesight... GEEEZ! Also found a Beer Lovers Cookbook - they just might have everything in there.
google avatar

Alicia R.

Yelp
This is a great kitchen store. Being from out of town, this is one place that I am sure to always visit when I am in FOCO, and I always find something that I love here, since they stock a great range of kitchen goods, from local foods to high-end equipment (including Kitchen Aide and various espresso makers). Yes, there is a lot going on, but that is the charm of it....seeing tons of products collected in one place. You are almost guaranteed to find what you are seeking, and (if I am typical) things that you did not know you "need," in this kitchen paradise. As others have mentioned, it is a little pricy, but you can always visit the sales corner, which is a great place to pick up the kitchen gadget you did not even know you needed, at a reduced price. The staff is always helpful, ensuring that I can find what I am looking for, and in my case, when I note that I am just browsing, they are not hovering (which is a big pet peeve). They also gift wrap and have a large candy display....can you ask for more?

Jesse L.

Yelp
As an avid cook and baker, The Cupboard was like a toy store to me. Unfortunately, after multiple instances of rude service and poor customer care, I can no longer frequent this establishment. The last (and final) time I tried to make a purchase was when I decided to add a new 3.75qt Le Creuset Braiser to my collection. The Cupboard only had one in stock in the color I wanted, and the bottom had been severely scrapped and damaged during shipping to the store. Much to my surprise and shock, they offered to "buff" out the damage for me and sell me the pot at full price ($285). When I declined that idea and said that I didn't want a damaged pot, the sales woman made a snide comment to her co-worker about me wanting a "pristine" pot, and said they would have to order it in. I was told that the pot would arrive within 10 business days; after 3 weeks, I called to check on the status of my order, and was rudely told that they would call me when the pot came in - this was over 6 weeks ago and I have still not heard from them. It really is too bad, because this is only place in Ft. Collins to get good quality kitchen tools. However, the people who work there (especially the older sales woman and her counterpart who does the ordering) are rude, snide, and overall contemptuous toward their customers. I want to support local businesses, but not if this is their customer service platform. Shame on you, Cupboard; you've lost a loyal customer.

Yelp
The Cupboard is one of those stores that you walk into and, no matter who you are, will find something that interests or amazes you. It goes way beyond cooking supplies. They have an amazing array of dishes, cookbooks, knick-knacks and food. I absolutely love black licorice and their selection of licorice from around the world just can't be beat! I went in there the Saturday before Christmas, which also happened to be graduation weekend at CSU. It was a madhouse! So what do I do? I decide to buy something. The lines were quite long, but they had enough staff and a good enough system to keep the line moving quickly. I didn't have to stand in line very long and before I knew it I had paid and was walking out the door. Whether you come here to shop, browse, dream or drool, The Cupboard will not disappoint!
google avatar

Zachary F.

Yelp
This is a real jem. The selection of kitchen things is gigantic and high quality. The service we a little week. I did not feel welcomed. While I was at the register the person helping me gave me minimal attention, which I found a little rude.
google avatar

Alden C.

Yelp
This place is great when it comes to kitchen equipment for your home. No one else can beat it in Fort Collins! They also got great chocolates to pick from and a nice little grocery section where you can get all kinds of unique candy, chocolate, spaghetti sauces, salsas, teas and much more. They also do cooking classes here as well every once in a while. Great place! :)
google avatar

Nora A.

Yelp
They have EVERYTHING related to the kitchen! A vast collection of Japanese dishes, Fiesta ware, Le Creuset, English Bone China, Kitchen Aid mixers in every color, local gourmet jars and packets, imported chocolates and sauces and a wall of gadgets that will leave you stumped to figure what some of them are used for! It is expensive though. Love to visit on "First Friday Gallery Walk" nights when they have a sort of scavenger hunt through t he store.
google avatar

Lynda K.

Yelp
I love this kitchen store! They have the best selection of Fiestaware in town. The ladies are always very helpful when I come in looking for some obscure kitchen tool. Their clearance, located upstairs, always has some terrific little treasures. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Michael B.

Yelp
A great store with a mix of fairly nice kitchen gear and associated goods. I like stopping in here when I need something specific for the kitchen, and also when I need to pick up a gift for someone. It gets a little crammed in there sometimes with the very narrow space in the aisles though, so I can't be there long before getting frustrated.
google avatar

Bill V.

Yelp
One of Fort Collins best places to shop and enjoy We love Old Town and few companies exemplify why more than the cupboard. Great company, people, products and ambiance.

Lena B.

Yelp
The store itself has charm and very nice (albeit EXTREMELY marked-up) merchandise. You can get a lot of the same stuff at World Market for a lot less $$. That is not the problem, however. The problem is the snot-nosed staff who act like they are better than everyone just because they know how to operate a coffee machine. Also heard that they bully their employees. Will not be returning here.
google avatar

Rochelle D.

Yelp
What more can I say about the Cupboard? It is an awesome kitchen store, with super helpful and friendly employees. They always seem to have what I'm looking for, and plenty that I didn't even know I needed! I wish I had more family in Fort Collins so we could have registered here for our wedding. They have everything the big box stores have, and you are supporting a small local business. Always worth a visit when wandering around Old Town.

Ashley R.

Yelp
Love love love this place! Definitely a must for shopping in Fort Collins. They have a wonderful selection of spices, sauces, pots, and anything else you could need for your kitchen. They also have a huge coffee selection which is great!! They're sale section is also great for crazy good deals!
google avatar

Aimee V.

Yelp
THE store for so many things! Foodies must shop here. Every Christmas I get tasty, unique candies for the children. Great selection of cooking/baking/food & drink serving supplies. I love the unique selection of items, where else can you get black licorice for your German Mother-in-law? Polish pottery? Japanese tea service? Knife sharpening service? Obscure cookbooks? A few years back my husband finally got wise to my cooking obsession and got me an amazing knife set for my Christmas gift. I have only had very positive interactions with the staff. They are helpful, organized and very educated on the products. Love this store.
google avatar

Rachel W.

Yelp
The Cupboard is a little slice of heaven. They have EVERYTHING that you could ever want for your kitchen. I can always go in and find something for myself or a friend. This store makes gift giving easy. What is even more impressive is that for being a boutique kitchen store their prices are very reasonable.
google avatar

Craig L.

Yelp
What a great place. The best kitchen store I have ever been into. They have been able to supply my every need without exception. LARGE selection and very high quality. I can do all of my Christmas shopping in this one store. A true gem. Not the cheapest place to shop but it is the best.
google avatar

Zach W.

Yelp
The cupboard is a wonderful place to visit. High end cutlery, beautiful tableware, gourmet chocolates and various international consumables are just a few of the cool items found within. Parking is decent, the selection outstanding and the staff helpful and friendly. This place is worth a visit.
google avatar

Husky D.

Yelp
Incredible customer service. Love to hang out there and browse and choose select items. Inspiring me to be a better home chef.

Charisse O.

Yelp
I wish the Cupboard wasn't so expensive! I love the things they have here! This is a great upscale kitchen store, especially if you are needing something of a higher quality than Bed, Bath, and Beyond or Walmart. I got a waffle iron from here once, and it's still in great condition and makes awesome Belgium waffles. They also have some goods and ingredients. I usually buy my Chai Tea mix here. I'm sure the other things are great as well, I just don't find a need for them. They have things on clearance in the back right corner. I recommend browsing through there. You may find something that you need at a good deal. The spacing is a little cramped, so be careful not to knock down expensive things!
google avatar

T. W.

Yelp
I loved their selection of O'Dell's glasses and wish I had bought a New Belgium as well. Oh well, next visit.
google avatar

Moira B.

Yelp
One of the must-visit shops in Old Town. They are expensive, yes, but that's because they sell quality products.
