A Murfreesboro gem! So glad I found The Curious Kitchen. My daughter did a one week summer cooking camp and can’t wait to come back for more cooking and baking. She had a great experience, made some new friends, and made some delicious treats. Instructors are so kind and welcoming and the entire place feels so home-y. We will definitely be back for more cooking!

We had a lovely time making sushi. We had no experience but we were gently guided through the entire process. My son and I will most definitely return for additional classes in the future. Thank you for making us feel so welcome!

The Curious Kitchen is a gem of a place with a wonderful, knowledgeable and friendly staff! We had such a great experience with our friends making cocktails and apps and then cooking and baking with our kids! We will definitely be back and looking forward to our next class!

Absolutely love TCK amazing cooking classes and the kids class is so immersive and the chefs do a great job making sure all children are included and learning so many recipes during cooking camp. I highly recommend signing up for a class or getting your kiddos kick started with their cooking journey 10/10!!

My daughter went with a friend for a cookie decorating class today! They loved it! I got to meet the owner and was most impressed with her care for her craft! We will attend a class again!

Helena and her assistant Marta made the experience we had at The Curious Kitchen perfect. They were both so kind, hospitable and fun! I recently took my 12 year old daughter for the Pasta Making class for her birthday gift and it was her favorite gift ever. She could not stop smiling or hugging and thanking me for bringing her. But we didn't just make homemade pasta. We made an entire 3 course meal! We made an amazing Italian salad with a homemade balsamic vinaigrette dressing that was amazing! We also made a shortbread with berry and homemade whip cream dessert. AND...homemade marinara and pasta with homemade garlic bread with fresh basil...AMAZING. Helena even emailed us the recipes so we can re-create the dishes at home! Then we got to sit and eat it with our fellow cooking mates! All the while, sipping delicious red wine or sweet tea. They took their time and educated us all along the way. But what I loved most was they inspired me to fall in love with cooking again. I could feel their passion and it was contagious. They made making food from scratch easy, doable and fun! Don't start with a box! Don't let cooking become a chore you dread or rush through. Don't just give a gift card. Whatever the reason, find ANY reason to visit The Curious Kitchen. Your tastebuds and tummy will thank you. But more importantly, your heart will love you for it! Thank you Curious Kitchen. I'll see you again for my daughter's Christmas and future birthday gifts! And future date nights, girls nights and me time! GREAT quality time and fun for us both!

Google
Had a good time with the "class". We were under the impression we would be cooking something, but a few drinks and couples games were still fun. They don't show past events on their calendar, so I do not know exactly what it said. Please read carefully what you're getting. Its was expensive for a reheated meal.

Yelp
The Foods of Italy kids cooking camp was my daughter's third experience at The Curious Kitchen and was nothing short of fantastic. She loved the variety of recipes and was so proud to tell me about her part in making them everyday when I picked her up, like the fresh whipped cream she made for the chocolate mousse or meatballs she hand rolled (which were delicious!) I love the samples available at the end of class and appreciate the opportunity to take pictures of the recipes--goodness knows paper copies would get lost in the car, never to be seen again. On the last day, she brought home three different cookies for me to try and they were so yummy I regretted not getting pictures of those recipes, but I emailed The Curious Kitchen and Helena was only too happy to forward them to me as attachments that could be printed if I wanted a paper copy. Every instructor and assistant was friendly, even when solving a disagreement over kids who didn't want to share the couch while waiting to be picked up. I've already started looking for another class for my daughter, and my husband and I are looking forward to taking a date night class as well. I highly recommend The Curious Kitchen experience for adults and kids!

Yelp
DO NOT bring your children here, or yourself. The staff and owners are VERY rude. I brought my daughter and her friends here for her birthday and none of the girls could talk during the three hour class, or they were blamed for not listening. I called three times prior to the class to check in on a couple of details for the class, and no one ever called me back Three times! Unprofessional. As I am spending $65/person x 5 people! They advertise as a cooking class, but each kid gets one minimal task as they go around in a semi-circle and wait for their turn again. While they wait, they have nothing to do but stand there for hours, not talking. They can't even talk to each other or else they get in trouble by the instructors. Why are they not cooking and being instructed?! (As advertised). The building is in an unsafe area. Upon arrival (10 minutes before class time started), the door was locked. Based on the feeling that there was NO WAY I was leaving my children and their friends here. The staff said I could stay, however the owner of Curious Kitchen saw through a camera that I was sitting in the room and asked me to leave. Why is she unknowingly watching the children? They would not let me stay in the same room as the children, but instead I had to sit in the next room for three hours waiting. Why not let a paying customer be in the same room as their kids? Why lock the children into the building? Isn't this against fire code? When I called the owner to ask if I could stay in the room , a huge argument arose. Both of the co-owners, mother and daughter are absolutely horrific. Horrible attitudes. Defensive. Rude. I am shocked that they are still in business. The food was poor quality and tasteless. How do you mess up pigs in a blanket? The potato wedges were cold. DO NOT SPREAD YOUR MONEY HERE!!!! - - - - - - RESPONSE TO THE OWNERS RESPONSE- - - - - -- - I would hope that you take your feedback seriously. I also can not believe that you are still in business with the way you treat your customers. You are claiming that the things I noted about my experience visiting your business are false...they are nothing but TRUTH. Let me be clear, I spoke with BOTH of the co-owner's yesterday - the mother and and daughter yesterday. I was on the speaker phone with the woman that you called a .....and I quote "RACIST" because of the safety issues she experienced outside of your business yesterday. Not only that, you hung up on her. Neither of you stopped talking long enough to let us, the paying customers speak about our negative experiences. We were both having these negative experiences at the same time, which validated both of our feelings. Let me also be clear that I called THREE times before I visited your establishment. I never received even one call back dialing the number that is clearly listed on your web page (615-956-6077). My husband heard me leave all 3 messages and each one was left after a message stating it was the Curious Kitchen. Thus, another validation that I was calling the correct place. I wanted to gather information on a private event - 10th birthday for my daughter. Boy, am I glad I never got ahold of either of you and spent more money than I already have! Regarding the "safety", or lack thereof. Why would I want to do a cooking class for myself or my children that requires for everyone to be locked in because the neighborhood is so unsafe? Also - you skirted around the fact that IT IS AGAINST FIRE CODE TO LOCK CHILDREN INSIDE OF A BUILDING. ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU ARE COOKING AND HOT OVENS AND FIRE ARE INVOLVED. In regards to the food - you do not provide QUALITY INGREDIENTS. I can bake food in my kitchen that is much better quality. So for you to blame it on the kids since they prepared the food - it's disgraceful. And no - the potato wedge wasn't cold "because parents are invited in after the children have already eaten." I was there before they even got their food because I never left and pushed into the next room. Thus, I was there the entire last 30 minutes of class. Nice try though! AGAIN - DO NOT ATTEND ANY CLASS HERE. THIS PEOPLE SHOULD BE OUT OF BUSINESS.

Yelp
For a first-ever kids' cooking class experience, this was pretty amazing! Located in Murfreesboro, this small business is a great way for kids, couples, families & groups to pass a few hours learning new skills. My girls loved the Grinch-themed menu (Who Hash, Roast Beast, etc) & the fact that it was kids only (ages 6-15). Everything was geared toward them from the countertop height to cooking utensils. Really well thought out & both asked to come back again. Will definitely come back for a family or couples class.

Yelp
This was one of the worst experiences our family has ever had. Started with no confirmation on our reservation after 4 emails. Finally when we showed up we quickly found out that this was more a class on how to stand around and watch others cook poor quality and flavorless food. When we arrived the doors were locked, and when we got in the building the doors were locked behind us, for "safety reasons," yet when we asked about this practice we were told by the owners we must be racist?! That comment came out of nowhere and was shocking to everyone in the room. We were told we could not be in the same area as our kids as we would be a distraction. Our kids said they never got to actually cook, and were constantly shushed to the point they felt like they couldn't participate. Bottom line. Food- terrible. Building- unsafe. Instruction-poor. Interaction with staff and owners- absolute worst I've experienced. This place should not be allowed to stay open. They are stealing money.

Yelp
Ms. Lexi is the best teacher for this class. Super fun and would come back again! Just note that you need to contact about allergies.

Yelp
I have not been to this establishment yet. I am looking for a unique cooking class experience for my niece. I am impressed by both the comments offered by Yelp reviewers and equally important the responsiveness and openness of the owners. I will leave another review in January after our experience.

Yelp
What a great experience!!! Went here with a friend for a "food tasting" originally thought it was a food class, but this was a full-on 5 course meal with champagne, a white wine pairing and a red wine pairing. It was absolutely out of this world fun and delicious. Even had an Italian soda as an addition. I definitely want to comp back for a couples date/cooking competition, that would be fun. And they also have regular cooking classes with different regional and ethnic foods.

Yelp
I have been to multiple cooking classes here and they keep getting better. I always have a blast at The Curious Kitchen

Yelp
The worst class I have taken in a long time. The owner was rude and made racial comments when I complained.

Yelp
Sweet little tearoom atmosphere. Tasty daily specials. Fresh salads. Lovely sweet treats.

Yelp
I went to lunch today with my friends and fellow volunteers from The Garden Parch Thrift Store. We ordered ahead so our food would be ready. All the food was ready for us and excellent!! Great service and excellent food. We all highly recommend it!

Yelp
Thoroughly enjoyed lunch at Curious Kitchen today. Seriously fresh and good and unique. The best organic cafe that we have experienced since we left DC. Highly recommend. Hubs loved his veggie panini and I had an awesome quinoa salad. Go to the restaurant. You wont regret it.

Yelp
I love finding off the beaten path restaurants. This place did not disappoint. The food was fresh and flavorful and the staff/owner was pleasant. I'm looking forward to holding a future event here.

Yelp
Their coffee is SO GOOD, as are the sandwiches! The owners are kinds and treated me like family from the first visit, I'll definitely be making this place a pit stop. A+

Yelp
Love The Curious Kitchen! I bought one of their cooking class Groupons as an anniversary gift to my fiancé. We had such a great time! This was my first time taking a cooking class, and I'm not a great cook, but the married host and hostess, as well as their helper, made the experience something I will never forget. This is something we will definitely be doing again!

Yelp
Just had your grilled chicken, green beans, mac & cheese, and a corn muffin at a Fooda popup restaurant in Brentwood. I have to say, the grilled flavor was overpowering and had no other flavor to it! Also everything else lacked in flavor! Are you afraid of salt? Everything was under-seasoned and I never add salt to anything. Even the corn muffin was lacking salt! Curious Kitchen needs to get curious about spices because the food I had tasted like it as done for a nursing home. I don't like being negative but I felt feedback on this was needed.

Yelp
Went there for lunch. It was great! Loved the healthy options. Finished our meal with a delicious blackberry lemon cupcake. Real gem in Murfreesboro!

Yelp
Fresh ingredients, great customer service, and a nice atmosphere. This is a place you definitely want to check out for lunch in Murfreesboro. We had the roasted vegetable Panini and the vegetable of the day. Very flavorful and fresh tasting. They have a great selection of desserts. Many of the menu items can be accommodated for vegetarians and vegans. Highly recommend!

Yelp
I have been dying to go to one of their cooking classes and just haven't been able to make it yet...so I was excited to see them offer lunch. I met a girlfriend there and had a lovely lunch. We ordered the brussel sprouts with pancetta side as appetizer, it was yummy...we both had salads. I had the steak, blue cheese and arugula and finished every bite despite it's generous size. (I had just been to barre 11 and was starving) My friend had a huge salad with all kinds of grilled vegetables and pine nuts. She liked it a lot too, though she couldn't finish it! The menu has lots of options from fresh soups, quiches, salads and sandwiches. Mostly healthy fare, however there is a truffled Mac and cheese that sounds delicious and homemade desserts. The space is open and spare but pleasant. I will be back soon. It's nice to have this option in Murfreesboro for lunch and on this side of town. Try it out you won't be disappointed.

Yelp
This was the Fooda choice today at Nashville City Center. I ordered the herb "baked" chicken since they were out of the quiche & wrap. The chicken wasn't even close to being baked so never going to eat that again. Ewwwwww!

Yelp
Great new lunch locale. Homemade everything with small bite desserts just perfect for a sweet tooth.

Yelp
After sending email to owners and explaining the poor experience that my husband and I experienced in April, we were persuaded to try it again. They assured us that the problems had been corrected. My husband opted out so I took my daughter to girls night; this visit, only had 3 participants, which was very cozy and interactive.. We really enjoyed it. It was more of the expected cooking experience. Rachel was very personable and definitely encouraged participation!! Rachel also emailed the recipes so that we could try them at home. A much better experience this go round. Good communication.

Yelp
My fiancé and I showed up to the Mexican fiesta class excited to cook some amazing food and drink some quality margaritas. Instead we got a group class in which you were lucky to dice a single tomato in a recipe. The items were made as a group so the amount of work each person got to do was pathetically minimal. The instructor also had no idea what she was doing to the point the class had to correct her. As if standing around for two hours watching everyone take turns doing small basic tasks wasn't enough, when they finally feed you there isn't enough for everyone. You end up paying $65 a person to chop a clove of garlic, one Roma tomato, and go out for food afterwards. Everyone in our class was planning their meal afterwards while watching how small the portions we were making were. They also tell you they will send their sub par dry recipes to you afterwards and never do. Do not take this class. It's not worth the money or frustration.

Yelp
This is a great place for a quick, delicious lunch. Rhonda and I have made The Curious Kitchen a regular stop on our lunch tours. Fresh food.

Yelp
There for lunch with my wife and daughters. Had thy chicken club, it was great. Girls loved their meals. They were very willing to adapt the menu items to our preferences.

Stephanie H.

Yelp
Great lunch with 5 fun friends. I had the Malibu and the chocolate ganache pie. Both are to die for. We'll be back. Maybe in about 2 hours.

Katy H.

Yelp
I have eaten lunch at the Curious Kitchen three times since its opening last year, and I've had a great experience each time. The service is always great. The women serving there are always friendly, helpful and attentive. My glass is never more than half empty, the food comes out fast and the treats for dessert are always delicious. There is a set menu with salads and sandwiches, but they also do daily specials. There is always a different quiche, and daily soups. I have tried the eggplant parmesan when it was the special, and it was outstanding. Best I've ever had. I also love the curious salad, the potato and corn chowder, and the mobster caprese sandwich. The dressings are all house made, and they have different flavored teas and coffees all the time. This place is really unlike any other in Murfreesboro. They even have cooking classes at night, which I would love to sign up for. I love to support local businesses, and I will continue to introduce friends and family to The Curious Kitchen. Definitely try it for lunch soon!
