Yelp
Three stars because the staff is lovely and tries very hard, the lobby is pretty, and the room was tidy and clean.
The lobby looks like a hotel that should charge $400 a night, but the rest of the experience and quality should be in the $250-300 range.
Starting with the food, the quality doesn't justify the cost point - the lobster ceviche for example is over cooked refrigerated pieces of lobster on top of diced pineapples. That isn't ceviche or close to it. Soba noodles were mushy, flavorless, and the lollipop chops were tasty enough but low quality meat and minimal meat. An up charge at hotel restaurants is always expected, but the quality of food here isn't what you'd expect and certainly not at $20-ish dollars a plate. I ordered it as room service, which they brought promptly which I appreciated but it arrived in take out / to-go bags with plastic utensils and just doesn't have that hotel experience vibe, and the trash cans in the rooms aren't big enough to throw the takeout containers out... overall felt like what you'd get if you ordered Uber eats from a lower end takeout. The restaurant also closes at 2pm sharp for lunch, fyi, so I can't speak to whether it's better during the day.
The room itself was pretty to look at. I was bummed because where the majority of reviews talk about water views, I was overlooking cement roof, a sliver of water extended beyond that but view was 99% roof. The bathroom is fine, nothing special but clean and nice looking. No bath robes, and the bath towels are pretty thin just fyi.
The rooms don't have minibars, so if you want a snack at night or finish the two complementary water bottles that are in your room, you have to go all the way downstairs to the market in the lobby to buy, which is great when, you know, you wake up at 11pm at night because you can hear people walking above you and talking in the room next to you, and want some water and debate being thirsty, going downstairs in your pajamas, or getting fully dressed to go buy water. That said, the popcorn they sell in the market is delicious and I'd highly recommend.
The pool is nice, small but well maintained and intimate.
But take away is this place is so-so. It feels expensive for what it is, and that it's priced at $400 because it looks nice and photographs well, when the actual quality doesn't meet that.
I wouldn't book here again.
