"This spacious modern restaurant, decorated with authentic Indian artefacts, is only a few minutes’ walk from the city centre – just follow the wonderful aromas. Owners Shamsul and Seleha Krori opened it in 1977 and consider it one of the oldest Bangladeshi restaurants in the UK. Their daughters Monrusha and Fatiha are also involved in the business, making this a real family affair. Shamsul still prides himself on never missing a service and is on hand in the kitchen each morning to oversee the roasting of the day’s spices. The menu is a roll-call of time-honoured classics, some named in homage to the famous faces who have dined here over the years. The mantra of the kitchen has never really changed – it’s all about preparing simple, unfussy and satisfying dishes. There’s also an emphasis on using seasonal, local ingredients, many of which come from small, artisan producers across the Cotswolds. The flour for the samosa pastry, for example, comes from Cirencester and the beef from local Longhorn herds. Along with their credentials, reputation and great tasting food, the thing which really shines through here is the sheer pride of the Krori family doing a job they clearly still love." - The MICHELIN Guide UK Editorial Team

My family visited the curry corner and had an amazing experience. The family running the business have been doing so for 3 generations and everything about the experience reflected this. The host talked us through the menu to ensure we experienced a good mix of flavours and we were the better for it. The vindaloo and biranyi were amazing and I thoroughly recommend ordering these

The food was delicious and the staff were really attentive. Excellent range of dishes and was one of the best Indians I have had.

Lovely restaurant, a warm welcome as soon as we arrived. All the staff we met were polite and friendly. I had dinner with my mother. She had king prawn dansak I had the jalfrezi. Prawns were fresh and bouncy, sauces were flavourful and delicious, not oily in any way. We also had 2 lassi’s to drink, some sides, a honey and pistachio naan and a peshwari naan, both fantastic! The Interior itself is very charming and my mother loved the music too! Looking forward to going back.

I spent a week in Cheltenham and visited this restaurant for dinner three times, it was that good. So different to most Indian restaurants, they have their own speciality dishes three of which I tried and completely enjoyed. It was a hot week, and although they are alcohol free, their mango lassi was perfect and the best I've ever had including in India. My Favourites were the Chili Raan Gosht (the tenderest lamb shank) with Bengal potato mash and the Katta Meeta (duck) with sesame ghee naan. And as a starter, do try the Chotpotti. Oh and, the service was personal and excellent

Had a wonderful array of Bangladeshi foods with family. The restaurant had a great atmosphere with exceptional service. We sampled many courses and the highlights were the Street food Aloo Chat, Paneer Tikka Mahkani with a perfectly balanced fragrant tomato fenugreek gravy. The mixed Tandoori platter and the Pistachio and honey naan bread was perfection! Would highly recommend a visit.

Ordered a takeaway for delivery and can honestly say that’s the best Indian takeaway we’ve had in years. Each dish was full of flavour, really enjoyed the chutney selection (especially the chilli and lime pickles). Top quality! Will be making a trip to dine in asap.

First time having The Curry Corner and certainly not the last! Can’t wait for people to come and visit us in Cheltenham to take them here. We had a take away, it was divine and very reasonably priced. We collected and the restaurant looked beautiful so will be eating out there in the future. Definitely recommend the 16 spice masala with lamb tikka, it was so fresh and a nice 6/10 spice intensity. The garlic pilau is a must and a homemade Mango & Coconut lassi to end made a perfect meal! Thanks all x

Yelp
Due to being extremely fussy when it comes to curries, in the last 20 years I only know of four decent Indian restaurants - this one, The Taj in Bishops Cleeve, Balti Cottage near Birmingham airport and one in Islington. Decor is a little overdone since the refit but what an improvement from the little dark carpeted dingy place with the fishtank it used to be. Curry Corner is quite expensive but the chef knows exactly how to make a proper curry and always has done. Whatever you order you will not be disappointed. Fantastic food! Book to avoid disappointment as always busy. Referring to a previous review - I would rather have just one of these curries than 4 of the Bath Road ones!

Yelp
Extremely high quality curry either eaten in or taken away with a varied menu, friendly staff and a really enjoyable ambience. I think the place tends to be overlooked because it's not near the centre of the town, but it's well worth the extra distance. The food is presented rather carefully and creates a range of flavours rarely found elsewhere. More extravagant dishes include local rabbit and some less common fish dishes, but the standard madras, tikka masala and jalfrezi, and others, are all on offer. There is also a large dessert menu, itself uncommon at curry houses, most of which are traditional Indian or Pakistani sweets, rather than attempts to satisfy the western taste. The atmosphere is quite relaxed with modern furniture and decorations that hint at the east but never impose. The fine touches make the difference here, such as unusual bottles of water that resemble large test tubes, outstandingly smart waiting staff, and the use of gloves when laying tables to prevent marks on the cutlery. One would be forgiven for thinking that the restaurant is pretentious, but the staff are welcoming and friendly. The prices are on the high side for a curry house, but this is truly fine curry, and the price of the food is a fair reflection of the skill and care that has gone into producing it. The only small complaint here is that the hand dryers in the toilets are extremely loud and do intrude on your dinner if sitting near to the toilets, but this is not enough to be a serious distraction to an excellent dining experience.

Yelp
I without a doubt this is the nicest Indian food and the most beautifully presented we have ever experienced. The service was wonderful . A little hard to find but for a great special occasion or date night hard to beat. Definitely not your average spot for curry dishes. We had the mixed grill and split it still a lot of food.

Yelp
Great food, puts the usual currys to shame. That said you do pay for it! Nice decor and very friendly & attentive staff.

Yelp
Well worth the trip. Great flavors, lovely atmosphere. I had the vegetarian thali, which had a wonderful array of dishes. The mushroom curry was a standout and I loved the delicate spices in the rice. If I lived nearby, I would go back to try more dishes. I recommend getting appetizers and dessert as well. I really liked the almond kulfi (creamy Indian ice cream).

Yelp
The food here was nice but very overated and the decor very dated i think the owners need a reality check as they think they can charge what they like. The owners daughter was quite rude to my wife when she queried the price WE WONT GO BACK AGAIN

Yelp
Somewhat overrated & overpriced. OK, the food is good, but it should be for the prices charged. You'll find other Bangledeshi restaurants in Cheltenham serving equally good nosh but for 20 per cent less money. It can't be the location which is a bit out on a limb and useless for parking. Personally, I think that the major refurbishment may have moved their aspirations to a level which is fine for Chelteham's Regency grandees, but not so good for your average curry lover. Great for a special occasion but you'll get 3 Curry Corner's for 4 of anyone else's in the Bath Road!

Yelp
Shocking. After visiting the curry corner previously, we felt comfortable on the level of food and service we would receive. 45 minutes before our first drinks arrived. 1 hour 45 minutes until our first lot of mains arrived, 4 of the 8 people in the party (having no starters). Then 15 minutes later another three mains arrived, with the 8th persons meal arriving later. Then the naans arrived after that, where as some had already finished their meal. Management were not interested in the terribly poor service they had given. Will most definitely not be eating here again, it is as if it the restaurant is being run by amateurs, amateurs with no passion in what they do. Shocked how this restaurant has changed and how downhill it has gone. If they are relying on reputation, I feel stormy waters ahead for them, such a shame. There are many better value restaurants in the area, restaurants with far better service and atmosphere.

Yelp
A group of us went here on business expecting great things, everything was OK but very expensive.

Yelp
Well below average with bland over expensive food. My girlfriend & I both left feeling sick. They add a 12.5% service charge automatically. Perhaps it used to be good but it sure isnt anymore. The popadoms & dips are the same as you'd expect at any Indian Restaurant. I started with crab sambrosas which looked great & were presented well however there was hardly any crab meat inside & I wasnt able to taste it (pointless). For main I had a rabbit massala with olive & tomato. The rabbit meat was too tough & the curry sauce was bland, gluinous & lacking in any interesting flavours also presentation was poor. I only ate a small amount before I felt a little sick. I was put in a very awkward situation & had to ask for it to be swapped. I wasnt offered the menu & it was recommended I have 'the chefs trademark king prawn massala'. This curry was almost as bland & lacking spice or any interesting flavours. Also they only serve huge beers which is annoying if you'd prefer to have a half pint or small bottle. My girlfriend & I had to sit in the car for 10mins after as both felt sick. Overpriced below average food. Avoid.
