from one of the first bars to reopen inside a Downtown Las Vegas casino | Eater Vegas

"Owned by Derek Stevens, who as CEO and owner of the D Las Vegas and Golden Gate gave away 2,000 one-way flights to Las Vegas to give tourism an early boost, the casino reopened at 12:01 a.m. on June 4 after a 78-day COVID-19 closure; Stevens said the team worked around the clock to bring back the Vegas experience and that they were excited to get employees back to work and welcome guests. The casino on the Fremont Street Experience revived Longbar with its tabletop blackjack and BarCanada, a sports bar ode to hockey, and brought back on-site dining including Coney Dog at American Coney Island, D Grill, and steaks and seafood at Andiamo Italian Steakhouse." - Susan Stapleton

They welcomed us with beer on the house which was nice because we're used to getting water bottles and cookies. The man who checked us in was professional and friendly. Everything about our two night stay was good except for a few minor things. The first thing was that the loud music played until 2AM so if you're trying to sleep then you won't be able to. The speakers were so good we can feel the vibrations from the bass from our room on the 30th floor. We LOVE music and usually is ok with it but by 1am, I was hoping for a little shut eye. The second is that we were trying to dine in at the restaurant on the second floor but it wasn't open. We check a few times but it was still closed. We ended up buying some sandwiches and drinks from the coffee stand but those sandwiches were dry and hard. We decided to eat elsewhere on fremont street. Third, we were disappointed that there was no microwave nor mini refrigerator in the room. The door had a gap underneath that was too wide. Pictures included. The hotel itself was great, they provided complimentary parking in their garage. Would I stay here again? Probably not.

I checked in early hours Monday morning. To be told they don’t have the correct room. And then to be given $30.00 dollars credit in the bar. I wake up in the morning to find the bedding has a urine stain on it. I go down to the reception and ask for a manager. Paulo Gutierrez: This is where it gets interesting. I explain to him I’m not happy with the room. And then I show him the picture of the bedding. Which he can clearly see why anyone wouldn’t be happy. He then says he will give us another $30.00 dollars credit in the bar and remove the room tax for the 1st night because it was the incorrect room. We go out for the day. And I get an email from Him saying the new room is ready. And when I return I ask for him to be told I need to join the queue which would have been a few hours. I checked with the receptionist later to see if everything he had promised had been done. And guess what. NO it was lies from start to finish. No where to be seen and he was there till 6pm. I asked to have a conversation face to face and they couldn’t tell me when he was back in. Whilst Paulo was hiding there was a lady complaining about her room that was smelling. Says it all really - good luck Paulo Gutierrez - you sir are an absolute liar

The rooms were okay but felt cheaply remodeled. I stayed in room 715 for three nights and would recommend choosing a different area of the hotel. It was extremely loud due to the music outside, which made it hard to sleep. On the positive side, I had one of the best steaks ever at Andiamo Steakhouse, though make sure to double-check your bill — our ribeye, porterhouse, and two beers came to $245 before tip. Bacon Nation served a great breakfast as well. Overall, it was a good experience, but I’ll likely stay at a different property the next time I visit Las Vegas.

We stayed at "The D" for four nights in a suite on the 16th floor. The suite itself was super clean, the bed and couch were comfortable, and the bathroom was spotless. The room has a bar with stools, a table/chair set, and triple flat screen TV's on the wall, which is cool. I thought it was a little odd that the room, especially a suite, had two refrigerators but NO microwave or in-room coffee maker. Clearly they want you to keep your alcohol cold but want you to buy all your coffee and food from venues in the lobby or surrounding area. The ENORMOUS issue we had during our stay was the noise from the stage on Fremont street below our window. If you like nightly concert-level music vibrating throughout your room until 2am every. single. night. then this is the place for you! It was not the place for us, however, and we will never stay here again because of it. Also - The casino area stunk of cigarettes and regret and was a chore to walk through each time we wanted to venture out to Fremont Street. I felt bad for the table-top dancers that were in the casino each night - not because of their chosen career, but because every one of them looked so unhappy to be there. Same with the various dealers and table attendants; if they didn't have any customers they would just stand there with this vacant "i wish I was somewhere else" look on their faces.

Had such a great experience staying here for our wedding weekend. Our room was clean, the bed was so comfortable and the service was great. All staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Lots of great slots and a decent amount of tables. Best part is that it's in the heart of Fremont next to a stage where live bands play. This is going to be out go to hotel the next time we go back to Vegas

If you're going to Vegas to gamble and not wanting to break the bank, the D Hotel is what you want. But you get what you pay for. The Hotel itself reeks of cigarett smoke. Any time I was in the hotel I was either headed to my room or leaving the hotel, and in that time between I felt like I was being gently pepper sprayed. Of all the casinos we went in and out of that allowed smoking on the floor, The D seemed to be the worst. The room itself (non smoking, two queen beds, 34th floor) was quite spartan with just the bare minimum available, not even a mini-fridge or microwave. But by far my biggest complaint about the room was how incredibly dim it was, it was on the west side so we had the sun in the afternoon, but for the rest if the time the room was inconveniently dim, like I was wearing sunglasses inside. The room itself didn't seem to have much of a smell to it. The beds and pillows were fine, blanket was kinda thin, but the a/c unit works well. The bathroom has a dim overhead light and the mirror is back-lit, so when leaning closer to the mirror, it got darker and harder to see. I was only putting in contacts, but doing makeup in there would be a real pain. The shower works great. Though the half wall enclosing it still lets a fair bit of water get on the bathroom floor. There were only two plugs in the room (not including the bathroom) and three of the four sockets were being used; I ended up unplugging the TV and alarm clock to plug in our devices. Had to leave the single lamp plugged in. Thin walls, and even 34 floors up, the music from the stage below was still loud enough to bother us while trying to sleep. The carpet was kinda lumpy, but that seems to be the same in quite a few of the older hotels. My sock would occasionally catch on something small caught in the carpet, but never enough to bother looking for the culprit. The elevator system they use there keeps you from having to spend much time waiting for one, I don't think I waited for more than 30 seconds and the valet pickup area is a convenient place to call an Uber and not have to wade through a crowd of others also waiting for a ride. I personally didn't do any gambling, but the games they had there didn't seem any better or different than any of the other casinos we went through. The hotel has a few exits that let out in the Freemont Experience, and had a 24 hour McDonald's near one of them. The McDonald's there does their best, but it can get very busy during peak hours. Was meaning to post this sooner, glad I didn't. Got home and discovered out suitcase infested with bedbugs. I understand that is a risk associated with hotels, still sucks though.

Upon arrival, I was disappointed by the service from the valet staff.(Asian guy with long hair above the neck) When I mentioned that we were hotel guests and needed to valet, the attendant walked away mid-conversation and then instructed me to move my car around the pillars on the right—only to park it back where I had initially pulled in, rather than in the secure parking lot across the street. The entire interaction felt dismissive and unprofessional. Inside, the experience unfortunately did not improve. Miss Emma swiftly walked by our table with a noticeably rude tone, asking if anyone wanted drinks in a way that felt more like an obligation than a courtesy. When we politely asked if we could also get a cigarette, she gave a dismissive look and said “no” as she walked away. For a quiet Monday night with very few guests, I expected a more welcoming and attentive atmosphere. Instead, the service felt indifferent and unaccommodating. As someone who lived in Las Vegas for two years, I understand that hospitality is what sets this city apart—but this experience left a very poor impression. Needless to say this was the worst of it. The rooms were clean, the beds were comfortable as well. As a hotel it met the expectations but as a casino it was a disappointment!

My wife and I decided to stay off the strip in Vegas and The D turned out to be a good choice. Check-in was easy and since it was mid-week our room was ready earlier than the normal check in time for no additional cost. Front desk staff were very friendly and efficient (shout out to Chelisa) and the free beer at check in was a nice addition. |The corner room on the 33rd floor was clean and comfortable, and we had no issues although most of the windows were covered with a see-through black coating, I'm sure to keep the sun from heating the room too much but it did spoil any view of the mountains. |The room faced Freemont Street, and we were told it might be a bit noisy, so we were prepared for the music lasting until 1 or 2 in the morning, but it wasn't so bad. The exercise room was lame and had no disinfectant wipes for the machines and the pool on the property is not worth going to. We were offered a free pass to the Circa Stadium pool each day and if you want to relax that's not the place to go. As impressive as it was the music was so loud I could barely have a conversation. I guess I'm getting old.|All in all I think The D was a good value and I recommend it for a short stay away from the strip in Vegas.

Yelp
This is our third or fourth time staying at The D, and each visit has been exceptional. James, in particular, provided outstanding customer service on both occasions we interacted with him. The one-bedroom suite is perfect for our needs, especially for traveling and working. The spaciousness is impressive. My favorite aspects of the hotel room are the bathroom and the view. As someone born and raised in Texas, I find the sight of mountains absolutely stunning. The room includes a large sectional couch and a bar area with three stools. The king-size bed is incredibly comfortable, providing a wonderful night's sleep. The double shower heads are a great bonus, and the shower is so spacious it can accommodate about 10 people. Additionally, the motorized curtains that open and close with the push of a button are a nice touch, adding to the suite's luxurious feel. Guests receive a pool pass, a bus tour ticket, and even a drink card. We love Fremont and everything it offers, from gambling and dining to shopping and the street entertainment.

Yelp
This hotel used to be a lot better. The air conditioning is leaking water a quarter of the room is wet. There's a sort of moldy scent in the room. The bathroom is not bad and it's well kept. But then in the morning I discovered a roach as well.

Yelp
Review for casino only. This place is the last in Vegas with the old school Derby horse racing game. You bet on mechanical horses to race around a little track and win if your horses win. Each horse has odds for each race and bets can be as low as a quarter. It's way more fun than it sounds, especially when the table gets really into and everyone is yelling and cheering for their horse. It's low stakes too so folks are having fun and talking with each other instead of freaking out that thousands of dollars are on the line. Usually get awesome drink service too. Check this place out for Derby for sure, it's worth the trip downtown.

Yelp
Got great rates here compared to the other downtown hotels, now I understand why. The front desk clerk seemed tired or mad or sad? she was just not having it and was bothered about something? Not a good way to start off our exciting Vegas vacation. There is no mini refrigerator in the room, the shower is odd with just one door and half opened. I like that the walk from our room to the elevator was close by. Also our room was quiet and had 2 large beds. Wish they had connection to Netflix like at Fremont Hotel.
google avatar

Richard P.

Yelp
The D, like most of Downtown is tired and hanging on by a thread. Our rooms were clean but were bare bones basic. No coffee maker, no mini-fridge, not even a pen and paper. I'm sure Downtown still has some appeal for young people who like to smoke dope in the street and get inebriated. But to me it has become the armpit of THE ENTIRE COUNTRY! Filthy, homeless and drug addicts everywhere.

Yelp
Sleazy We didn't stay at this hotel. We did go in several times during our stay in Old Vegas. If you want a smoke riddled casino with girls that weren't good enough to be strippers dealing at the tables and dancing on platforms around the place, than this place is for you. The place just gives off the wrong sleaze even for Vegas. Also, nothing is cheap either. Why bother? Thanks
google avatar

Marquel H.

Yelp
With so many of the casinos and hotels on Fremont making updates and or being new, The D was very dated. Our room was in need of some repairs as well as more plugs. We had very few places to plug in our phones and there were no USB's. Despite being a "corner" the view was nothing special and the pool can best be described as sad, although you can use the Pool at Circa. The casino is fine. There are a lot of bar areas and options for watching sports. The horse racing upstairs is fun. It's a little dark and it lacks flare. In general it just doesn't stand out comparatively speaking. The one thing the D does that I have referenced several times is the Elevator. Instead of just pushing up or down, you put in your floor and then it tells you what elevator to take. The wait was almost nonexistent.

Yelp
Stayed here for superbowl weekend. My time here was pretty decent. Hotel room was pretty clean, had everything I needed and was on Fremont street so it was easy to just go down to all the activities. It's definitely a loud hotel though so if you have hard time sleeping through noise this won't be for you. Party never stops in Vegas so you can pretty much hear music until 2-4 am.

Rachel P.

Yelp
Long story short, i checked into my room there were BUGS and HAIR(not my hair) on the pillow. I called front desk they said they had another room available but i needed to go back downstairs to the front desk with all my stuff to get the new room key then carry my stuff back to the new room. The new room was an "upgrade" but it was not. The AC was blowing warm air, it was 92 degrees in there so we stayed in the casino most of the night. The bed was hard and broken that it dipped on one side. I tried to get ahold of the front desk and no answer. So i just dealt with it since I was leaving the next day. They did refund the resort fee for the issue but that was only $40. But i think more could have been done.

Yelp
It's definitely a party club vibe. Dancers throughout casino floor. Slots were paying out on a Thursday. Loved the water fountain at the front of casino. Cocktail waitress were passing through with drinks for players. Loved the music and vibe at this spot!

Yelp
Just visited for a night, which was affordable I would say. About $83 for the night on Tuesday. Service easy very nice, they were able to accommodate early check-in. My only complaint is the room I had smell like vomit and I feel like housekeeping didn't clean that very for whoever was there before me. They were able to come into my room later in the night to spray some things which helps a little bit, but still kind of reeks. Also, if you want to have a quiet place, this is not the hotel for you. They were playing some concert until like two in the morning so you're better off finding somewhere further away from downtown.

Yelp
I had a decent experience, I would probably stay at this spot again. It is in a good area, right where Coney Island is and walking distance from everything else. It's in the premier location, so that is its biggest selling point. The hotel itself is pretty clean, I had to wait a while to get things like towels and such, that was the part that I did not like much. They were nice.... but still... timing was a little annoying. Also, the biggest thing that I had an issue with was... we got a room and got early check in. We had early flights so we were dead tired. They got us a room but didn't tell us that the room that we got so we could rest, was the room RIGHT OVER THE BAND ON FREMONT STREET! How was it that you expected me to get some rest if we are constantly bombarded with the loudest music ever! When we asked for a solution, you give a money credit (which was nice) but you dont have any other rooms available? Maaan na! They gave us earplugs... Thanks... I guess lol.
google avatar

Yelp
Terrible service terrible cleanliness and terrible empathy. Had 2 nights booked and showed up to check in to be told I had no room. I'd been charged and got told sorry but we have no room since it got rented and sorry we can't refund you. Soooo there's "check in anytime", I was checking in past that time but in the duration of my stay and you still got rid of it. Greed at its finest.... Poor service deserves poor feedback so bravo you got as you earned :)

Yelp
Love the D because I was able to spend time with my family & also be very close to the Freemont Experience!!! This pool area is clean . There was a weird man trying to touch on us but Security got to him very Quickly.

Yelp
I'm shocked to see such low reviews and have to add one! I've been staying at this hotel once a year for the past 4 years, every time from Thursday night to Monday morning during the month of September. Location is fantastic especially for our purpose of attending an annual music festival on Fremont street, but also walking distance to restaurants and abc store. Security and elevator control does get quite hectic after the end of the festival but otherwise it the elevators are easy to manage and I've never felt unsafe. Cleanliness and hygiene have never been an issue, whereas I've absolutely experienced having bed bugs and other leftover items in the room on the strip. As with any other hotel you must bring your eye mask and ear plugs for good sleep, but that should be a given for any Vegas hotel. Price is generous for what you get, only complaint is no mini fridge or microwave for most units.
google avatar

Rachelle D.

Yelp
Almost 4 years later, we had a much better experience here than in 2019. Stayed on 12th floor--yes music from below was still audible at 2:30AM on a Sat. night, but we didn't care as we were still amped up from the Red Hot Chili Peppers show we came into town specifically to see. Room was clean, no surprise rubbish or creatures! Check-in with Edgar was amazing, he was super helpful and eager to help. Coffee at the spot by the elevators was good, too. Didn't dine anywhere here, but was told the Italian steakhouse upstairs is amazing. For downtown, it's a great spot to stay.

Yelp
This was the worst stay in Vegas for us. Upon arrival the guy at the desk was extremely rude. Over the phone we were told our room would be reserved for us upon arrival from our late night flight. To our surprise our room was given away. We were also told that we were lucky enough to get a non-smoking room. We asked to speak to the manager and that was also pointless. They gave the excuse that it was upon availability with rooms, then why allow someone to reserve a room? That was not stated on the invoice when we booked the room. The room was old and not renovated. The room looked nothing like the pictures on the website. The bathroom was disgusting as it made us cringe not wanting to touch anything. There was mold on the shower and mold on the bottom of the bathroom door. Watch out as the stained toilet could also overflow on you. The tv was very small and there were hardly any outlets in the room to charge your phone or watch. We even found someone's bitten off fingernails on the counter top. There was also a usb that was broken off into the usb charger. We cringed to sit or sleep on the bed after what we discovered within the room. We thought it couldn't get any worse. The next morning we purchased Bloody Caesars at the D bar. The bartender didn't know how to make it so he gave us a splash of Clamato and a cup full of vodka and didn't ask how we preferred our drinks. Let's just say that we will never stay in Fremont again or at this hotel.

Yelp
We enjoyed our recent stay at the D . The Staff was extremely helpful. We especially liked that we could use the Circa Stadium Swim Pool. We would definitely stay again!!!

Yelp
Surprisingly..... it's a great hotel!! This was the first time I stayed anywhere near Fremont St, was kind of apprehensive at first due to the high number of homeless, seedy looking people, weed and piss stench everywhere, and ANNOYING street performers. But.... the hotel provided a sanctuary from all of that. Front desk: very courteous, kind, and knowledgeable employees. Casino floor: loud, smoky, party atmosphere WITHOUT THE SNOBBY ATTITUDE you find at most of the Strip hotels. Very loose slot machines. Small gaming area, but it's more than adequate if you prefer more intimate spaces. McDonald's right in the lobby, HUGE PLUS!! Fremont St: seedy, stench of urine and weed everywhere, but they have GREAT drinks and possibly some of the most affordable prices in Vegas. I really loved the loud, party atmosphere. Although one huge negative thing about Fremont St is the constant ACDC music!! Don't get me wrong, I LOVE ACDC, but damn!! It's every other song on their playlist.... D Hotel rooms: very clean, somewhat updated, immaculate bathroom. Very comfortable bed. However, there's lots of noise coming from Fremont St, even in the upper floors. Best thing is the very affordable prices. I also loved all the great restaurants within a 5 minute walk from the hotel. I'm definitely staying here again! And going to try out all the other Fremont St hotels, it's a different party atmosphere than the Strip hotels.

Yelp
I was was very pleasantly surprised with my stay here. Yes there are features that are a little dated (the paint and the AC) but the staff does make up for it! I am now obsessed with the Sigma Derby game (this baby takes QUARTERS! And it had a couple issues while playing it, but Miss Karen was there to fix it for us with a smile!). The public bathrooms were VERY clean, and Miss Gwen was just about the friendliest person I've meet working anywhere let alone as a porter. This property is a wonderful alternative to Circa (The D and golden gate are in that family. So staying at The D you have access to stadium swim at circa in addition to the D's own pool). I would also recommend swinging by Bacon Nation here and BarCanada. Other things that stood out was the quickness of the cocktail servers and how close the elevators were to the gaming floor. I will be back!

Shai G.

Yelp
Not a very pleasant stay. We did a late check-in and when we arrived they told me they "ran out of rooms" so they could only offer me a SMOKING 1 bed when I paid for 2 bed Non-Smoking. They told me they would send up a roller bed and that did not arrive until 6am.. Two of my guests had to sleep on the floor.. They told me they would put in a new room request and it would be ready by 11am the next day. Well it was not, we had to keep visiting the front desk to get updates and updates every time they would say "it's not ready." It wasn't until we talked to the front desk representative Brennen who actually had the decency to find a new room for us. And they refused to comp us the first night even after we informed that we have a guest who has asthma but instead offered us $30 food voucher... Overall, after we got into a new room the stay was okay but the situation made our trip very uncomfortable and stressful. Terrible customer service and support. Will not be returning.

Richard W.

Yelp
Worst experience in my life traveling. Posted will print boarding passes. Promised to be at front desk was not missed flight. Triple billed for an additional room because of their short comings. Traveling friend had to leave $800 flight plus my additional cab fair and room. Offered nothing to make this right. Went to Concierge/VIP office 3 days for advise on events, discounts, perks NOTHING ZERO!!! TOLD BE TO SEE FRONT DESK!!!!! Management faked name and would not provide last name. RUN Adds for $39.00 a night rooms FRAUD false ADVERTISEMENT. Billed me $256.56 for the night I missed flight because they did not print my pass AS PROMISED. THEY USED TO BE THE GREATEST STAY AWAY!!!! Disappointed Mr Stevens do you care, your 3rd rate staff sweeping it under the carpet you don't have a clue!!!! Sir Richard Charles Werner III THANXS YELP

Yelp
This was my first time staying at The D and my last. I had booked two rooms for me and my group that were staying here for two nights When first Checking in I was greated by a wonderful staff member who checked us in, graciously gave us rooms close to each other on the 7th and sent us on our way. When going into one of our two non-smoking rooms one had a very musty wet smell to it. The other had no smell. At first glance the rooms seemed cleaned, until one of us in the group noticed a dark gross spot on a pillow, which lead us to inspect the beds further. Both queen size beds in both rooms were dirty. Filled with black and brown spots as well as hair all over the beds. We went back down to the same wonderful lady who checked us in and showed her pictures of the state of the beds and asked for the sheets to be changed. She instead gave us new rooms on the 8th floor. So as one would do after just getting two dirty rooms we inspected the beds in these new rooms one was good to go, but the other unfortunately had a bed that was dirty with what appeared to be bodily fluids on it. We immediately went back down and spoke with a different kind staff member and explained that we aren't trying to be difficult and do not want to keep bouncing around from room to room. So if they can please send someone up to just change the sheets. Which they did graciously. House keeping came in with fresh sheets right out of the wash and put them on for us. (If you get the room with two queen sized beds. Make sure to ask for an extra pillow if you have 4 guests. As the beds only come with 3 small pillows that go flat as soon as you lay your head on them. ) Thinking about walking barefoot or even with socks on in your room? Well think again. The carpets in the rooms are so dirty that the bottoms of your feet will be black within a couple of minutes. The filth of the floor will even seep through the socks you wear. So think about bringing slippers or something to keep your feet from getting gross from the rooms carpet. The shower. When you showered the water drained so slowly by the end of 8 minutes you had a pool of water at your feet. Not to mention neither bathroom had any ventilation system. Which explains why one of the rooms had a musty smell to it. As we looked past these issues and continued to enjoy our experience the rest of the night until it was time to sleep. After traveling half of the day to get here we went to bed fairly early for Vegas time (around 10pm). We shortly realized that we were given a room right above one of the Fremont stages. Where according to their website the music is supposed to stop at 1am. Not sometime after 3:30am on a Monday night.... I know the staff and hotel can't control the music that's coming from outside their hotel but ...When checking in at The D, the hotel and staff. Should know where they are assigning rooms at and provide complimentary ear plugs for the pounding music that will keep you awake. Once you finally think it's quite enough to fall asleep, the paper thin walls between you and your neighbors will be a hindrance. From their alarm going off at 5am like it's right next to you to being able to hear absolutely everything they say crystal clear like they are in the room with you. Also if your neighbors do decide to go out of their room anytime during the night be prepared to be jolted awake by the room doors automatically slamming shut behind them with no force needed what so ever. The A/C systems in the room have this plastic part they attached to it. So instead of the air blowing up into the room it blasts directly in face of the poor soul who's sleeping on the bed next to it. When using their parking garage elevators make sure to hold your hands out on both sides of you while stepping in and out of them, as their safety sensors don't work. When entering the parking garage elevators (on our last day) one of our group members was halfway through the elevator doors when they slammed shut on her smacking her head so hard there was a dent and bruise instantly. After the incident occurred. We went to the concierge's desk and instead of asking us if we are OK and needed ice or medical attention insisted we go and talk to Security, at this point we were so fed up with The D. We left and will never return. Here's to hoping this review will help you make your decision on whether or not you would like to stay here. I will never recommend this place to anyone to stay at. P.S if yelp would allow me to attach more pictures to this review I would

Yelp
Affordable location nearby party! Fremont Street experience is a bucket list location. Dazzling street performers and professional bartenders juggling actual liquor makes for a great time! My guy Biesley even made sure I got "home" safe. I knew then I'd always have a good place to stay. Having a room nearby makes it feel like home.

Yelp
Not a bad spot, decent rooms but on top of Freemont Experience. If you stay here request room furtherest from Freemont Street. The Rave & EDM music won't let u sleep til after 3:30 am. Sportsbook is run by Circa so they have decent odds. It is close to everything and reasonably priced yet Street noise is off the charts LOUD!!! You near the Freemont experience you will NOT Sleep..

Yelp
When they tell you, you can check in at 3 o'clock you should be able to check in at 3 o'clock especially if you come from out of state we get there they tell us the rooms aren't ready they didn't have our adjoining rooms. We paid extra but as soon as we called a manager, our rooms are ready and they were adjoining. I've never been to a hotel in my life where you weren't able to check in at check-in time. Worst experience TV wasn't working. Bathroom blew a fuse. The only thing good about it is the rooms were clean. We had four people in the room they gave us two towels. And like I said we paid 400 a night and they said because it has a view we had a view of the roof never again I don't recommend this place. Way too pricey for what they offer.

Yelp
It's a 2 star hotel so I didn't expect 5 star amenities. My experience here was very good. Pros The staff were professional, the room was immaculately clean, and the beds were super comfortable. Cons You can hear the music (beats) of The Fremont Experience (ends around 2 am or so). However, once that ends it's nice & quiet in the room. Food options inside the hotel are extremely limited.

Yelp
Fremont Experience, Slotzilla, great music, clean street, great location in the of it all. We were placed on the quieter side of the hotel which was a blessing. Yes, we don't go to Vegas to sleep but a great rest is warranted for some. Vegas street views and/or side shows are what one would expect in Vegas. My suggestion for what it's worth is to upgrade the beds. Mattresses are similar to sleeping at an old motel from 1987 and bedding consists of a fitted sheet, a sheet and a very thin blanket.

Yelp
This is my 4th time staying at this hotel and it has been the absolute worst experience. First we booked a double queen room, but when we checked in they only had king rooms left. We got a roll away bed. We are on the 21st floor above the Fremont street experience and it sounded like we were on ground level all night. I couldn't fall asleep until it ended at 2am. I can't believe the noise level that comes in through the windows on the 21st floor. It was almost louder, but easily as loud as hearing people walking in the hallway. We also got a handicap accessible room. The whole bathroom is a giant wet room. The bathroom sinks are large squares but the water stream doesn't allow you rinse the sink out with it. They're very impractical. I have not had this experience on previous stays, but after this visit I will not be staying at The D again. Very disappointed.

Yelp
Paid $91 for 3 drinks at their outdoor bar, I should've asked first but oh well my fault. But learned my lesson and not going to pay again for ridiculously priced ice blended drink with a shot of vodka. Plus the lady serving us had an attitude, still gave her tip though. She was probably having a bad day or it was a busy day but that's not an excuse. That's all, thanks for coming to my TED talk.

Yelp
Steve is a friendly and amazing flair bartender . He makes great cocktail while flairing.

Yelp
This review is for their bar along Fremont Street: Not only was the bartender's lack of customer service off putting, they tried to scam me by putting in multiple charges two days later (I know because this was the only place in Vegas that I used my card, everything else was cash). Good thing my bank declined the other 4 charges, notified me, and closed this card. Avoid this place!!

Yelp
This is one of those instances where you get what you pay for. The positives are free valet parking, right on Fremont so you can just walk up and down, safe elevators because you need your key to go up, price is super low, the bathroom lighting is amazing. We did one night in Vegas and it was great, the negatives are the outlets in the room didn't work, there was a cricket in the ac making noise all night and the TV wouldn't turn off. We were only there to sleep so it wasn't a big deal to us. I'd say definitely worth the price but nothing fancy of course

Yelp
I liked this hotel. It has a lot of amenities and restaurants inside. I went there to meet with family and I had an awesome time for 3 days. I recommend this hotel. The staff is nice and professional. Valet parking is free (don't forget to tip), parking is free and they also have room service daily. I can't wait to come back. Cocktails are good and this is conveniently location on Fremont street

Yelp
Customer service was slow but accommodating. 5/5. I called for house keeping due to them only having a long bed and a pull out cot which I agreed to but was not confirmed. This upset me slightly due to the quality of service I was given. This would have been 5 stars if house keeping did their due diligence in terms of 24/7 house keeping. I was referred to a king by size bed and pull out house keeping would set up. This was not the case. House keeping did not arrive till 7:30 AM when requested at 5:30AM when requested which was affirmed 24/7. Otherwise the casino people are more than nice and willing to teach you the games. Floor is amazing. Wanting to learn a game, perfect. Looking for a flawless stay, check again.

Yelp
We accidentally booked a room on the wrong date and called them to see if we could adjust it and because it was a past date they wouldn't correct it.

Yelp
Stopped in to write away time between meetings. Gambled a bit but it seems there are only reel games in the main casino area. I'm not much of a gambler so tables are not my comfort zone. They are available and spaces were available. I didn't see a single cocktail waitress so I didn't have a drink so I'm not able to comment to that aspect. I may come again it's not a terrible environment.

Yelp
The rooms were clean, we did not have any issues with that. We ordered delivery from their in-house restaurant and had some of the best stuffed french toast I gave ever had. Only complaint is that it's so far from the strip when you don't have a car.

Yelp
It started at check in. Slow and inefficient. Computer problems the said. Never got emails from them. I had to call them for confirmation number. Room was clean but definitely not refurbished. Looked like the same old hotel it's always been. The only major change was the name. THE ROOM WAS NOISY !!! AC was loud, that helped drown out the very loud music from Fremont street, We asked for a room change but they said NO. They said we were on the quiet side, I'd hate to be on the other side. We checked out the next morning. They offered only a partial refund until we got a manager to refund the remaining cost, I will NEVER stay there again. We went to the Orleans for the remainder of our stay, beautiful quiet room at about the same price.

Yelp
I recently stayed at the d Hotel & Casino and unfortunately, my experience was less than satisfactory. While the hotel itself boasts modern amenities and a convenient location, my stay was marred by hidden fees and unhelpful staff. Upon check-in, I was shocked to discover hidden fees that were not disclosed during the booking process. These unexpected charges significantly inflated the total cost of my stay and left a sour taste in my mouth. It's disappointing that the hotel failed to be transparent about these fees upfront, as it reflects poorly on their commitment to customer satisfaction. Furthermore, the staff's attitude towards addressing my concerns was unhelpful and dismissive. When I raised the issue of the hidden fees, instead of offering a resolution or apology, I was met with indifference and defensiveness. It's clear that customer service is not a priority at the d Hotel & Casino, which is unacceptable for a hospitality establishment of its caliber. Overall, my experience at the d Hotel & Casino was marred by hidden fees and unhelpful staff. While the hotel may have some redeeming qualities, I would caution potential guests to beware of additional charges and to manage their expectations regarding the level of service they can expect during their stay.

Yelp
Hotboxed with smoke, blasting horrible music inside that you have to shout over, complete gross trash casino, hidden fees and scams. Arriving here at 3pm feels like you're trapped at a seedy nightclub at 3AM having lost your purse and jacket and no way to get home. Everyone is wasted and shouting, including the check in staff who seem angry. Oh and there is no internet, they will charge you for it but the SSL certificate is expired so my computer won't even let me navigate to the page. Now I am stuck here on a business trip. I have not even gotten to my room yet and I have had to fight off $250 in THREE different hidden fees. Firstly, I shipped myself two boxes because I'm here for a wholesale conference and I have product. They repeatedly claimed that they don't have the boxes and then they demanded to see proof of delivery and now they want a $36 for a handling fee. I had called before and they said I could absolutely ship the boxes here and when I left they'd re-ship them (aka just let me leave them in the office with my own shipping labels for USPS). They will not release my belongings without paying the fee. Also I initially extended my room for one night by phone, and instead of continuing the $50 base rate (80 with fees of course) I paid, on the extended night like the other two nights, they charged me 150 base rate before taxes. They will not honor the initial rate, so now I'm here for this conference and I have to check out in the middle of it and I don't know where I'm going to stay. If I knew this upfront I would've possibly been OK with $150 but the fact that they snuck this on me and try to stick all these hidden fees FOR THIS HELLHOLE means I am leaving. They also charge $50/night deposit when you check in, (?!?!) and they tried to charge me the fee on all three nights even though I already canceled the third night. I have never even heard of this before!! What a trash hole, I feel like I'm in prison, MORTIFIED. If you object to them screwing you over they treat you like a complete Karen, make you sit in the smoke-hotboxed security office for 30 minutes, etc. But it gets "better". All the rooms smell like smoke even the non-smoking ones so my entire business wardrobe will need to be drycleaned. And the "best" part is the noise - I have never stayed somewhere louder. The (ultra trashy) street party on Freemont street is super loud and pounding all through the day and night. I asked for a quieter room and I can still hear every drunken shriek, every drumstick strike on a drum from up here on the 32nd floor. Did I mention that the hotel lobby is completely hotboxed with nasty smoke, with wasted people stumbling everywhere and shouting with pounding music? Bottle girls dancing up on the tables, copious mobility scooters languish and block the exit near the MacDonalds which is inside the hotel. \ I always try to be super super nice to service people and I can tell they are very tired and very sick of dealing with drunk people, and they have to execute the super crooked sketchy policies of this hotel, and I'm sure fight with people about the hidden fees all the time - but there is no reason to treat me like a criminal before they have even met me. All I can compare it to is showing up sober to a bar just before closing time and everyone is screaming at you. Its like spending the night in a drunk tank completely sober. Run do not walk away from this hotel unless you love super nasty nightclubs and getting repeatedly scr3wed by people that hate you, with no services, no internet and having your whole wardrobe ruined. The idea of getting a hand with carrying boxes or having something brought to the room or being treated like a... guest, is like a complete joke. On my last day instead of following up on sales leads I will be walking 4 blocks with 35 pound boxes to the post office, twice, in order to avoid the $35 "handling fee" (scam) that the hotel will charge just to drop off my boxes to be shipped home.

Yelp
If I could give this hotel no stars I would. First of all they don't provide coffee, no vents inside the restroom , the air conditioner broke down and it was vey hot. I will give David & David F., props for replacing the air conditioner quickly! When I checked out of this hotel I was given charges to a place called "Saginaw's Delicatessen Food" located within the hotel. I never ate there and no one in my room did either! I spoke with "Sheree" and advised her that I wanted these charges removed, video taped reviewed and willing to sign affidavit, because these charges were all fraudulent! She advised me that she couldn't and she was the supervisor in charge! They would look into these charges! I got charged with these fraudulent charges and nothing was ever done either! Few days later I spoke with "Chase" he was just as worthless as her and he never did anything either! So I spent hours with my bank on the phone and in person referencing these fraudulent charges and disputes! Finally after weeks, months my bank finally removed them! So just be careful using your credit card and it's older hotel that removed with fancy paint and new signs.

Yelp
This is the first time we decided to stay at another hotel, other than the California hotel in downtown lol. The room was spacious and pretty nice. The bathroom was way bigger than the California hotel's bathroom, which was a plus. The beds were nice and clean and comfortable. The maid was really nice and gave us more towels and soap and stuff since we got only one set of towels and there were three of us lol. No coffee maker in our room even though they list it on the website and their yelp page. Probably only specific rooms. The downside was that every night we could hear the night entertainment from 6:30pm-2am. I don't know if that was intentional to create an "experience", but even with earplugs we could still hear it. Sure after a couple of days, my body got used to it as we turned up the TV and the fan, but I don't know if every room experience it. That's going to be one thing that might make us hesitate to book a room here again...but overall it was a good room and it's very close to a bus stop.

Yelp
I was able to book 2 queen beds room here for a weekend from their Spring sale. The room had a television that looked like a computer monitor, particle board furniture, and minimal decorations or paintings. There is no fridge, microwave, or coffee table in the room. The beds and sheets were very soft and comfortable, and the bathroom was modern with a large sink on the white vanity. The toilet would shoot water out when flushing so it should be closed when flushing. There's not too much on the property itself, but a decent casino and access to the Circa Stadium Swim for 2 guests is included. If you just want a cheap room to go straight into the action being located right on Fremont Street Experience across from the White Castle, this will probably do it. + Good discounts usually available on hotel rooms + Good location in Downtown Las Vegas + Close to Wallgreens, has McDonald's on-site + Decent looking casino with lots of slots and bars + Access for 2 to Stadium Swim at Circa Hotel + Modern bathroom and beds - Hotel Room decorations somewhat dated/boring - Furniture not the nicest, no coffee table - No refrigerator or microwave - Hotel pool small and facing the main street (Use your free Stadium Swim Access)

Yelp
Hey hey it is downtown, everything's a little outdated except circa. Fun slots, up and down all night. Cocktail waitresses a plenty. We had a room and it wasn't special but we didn't need it to be. They had a player rewards first timer special where you make $5 every like 90 points. That was cool. Jefferey at the players one club was very helpful! McDonalds there is open 24/7 and obviously it doesn't break the bank !

Yelp
I was in high limit last summer. I was about to win and the machine malfunctioned. It was obvious they were watching and I left immediately. I told my husband I will never play there again. Total crooks!!

Yelp
This was my second time visiting The D, and since I live in Detroit, I am always amused by it. They have an Andiamo restaurant, which is a small chain in Detroit, and last time they had a sign up advertising Zingerman's baked goods, too, another prominent Detroit/Ann Arbor restaurant. Overall I like the theme of the hotel and the gaming floor - this review is solely for that, as I have not stayed at the hotel. I will say that one of their Craps machines ate my $3 this time, though, and when we pushed the Attendant button, we waited about 5-10 minutes and nobody shows up, so I took the $3 as a loss. I've heard the rooms here are also nice, and the lobby and bathrooms have always been clean when I have visited.

Yelp
The location was perfect, right off Fremont St and super close to LIB. The rooms were nice and spacious, and really just your typical hotel room. Right on Fremont Street Experience and right next to the band stage. If you are up for a crazy time and a fun adventure then this is the spot. We enjoyed our time at this casino.

Yelp
So I got a comped room here during the holidays and I figured, why not? I've never stayed in downtown and thought I'd give it a try. To be honest, staying in downtown is very different than staying on the strip. They are two totally different experiences. I stayed in room 1507. It was a double room. In the middle of the night you could hear them testing the sound frequency which definitely interrupted my sleep. Another thing I didn't like was the structure of the sink. It was a square sink which couldn't get rid of the water/gunk. I had to get a cup of water to wash it down all the time. The hotel itself is relatively kept up and looks newer, so I give them a bonus for that.
