The Best Coffee Shops in Dorchester | Eater Boston

"The Daily Market is a go-to neighborhood spot for all your grocery needs. It also slings exceptional coffee drinks. The coffee shop portion of the Daily Market is set up by the cash registers. Its glass display case contains goodies like ham and cheese croissants and generous slabs of carrot cake, and you should definitely grab a bite to eat while you’re there. Order a cappuccino too, or chug a cold brew in the morning to supercharge your workday. Other options include espresso, tea, and a chai latte that packs a punch of spice. The coffee shop at the Daily Market is open for takeout only." - Nathan Tavares

I love this store! They have a little bit of just about everything, all the basics. Also, fresh bread and pastries from local bakeries, a wine and beer selection, seasonal goodies and toys, and great prepared food. I also really appreciate that they try not to directly compete with the beloved local sandwich shop across the street. Such a great place, so glad they set up shop here!

This is like Dorchester's version of Trader Joe's or Whole Foods, but better and local. It's got everything you need, plus a cafe, flowers, and awesome staff!

The first impression I’ve gotten was the modern design and powered doors. The desk at the entrance for dine in, specifically designed spot for pets, fresh fruits, vegetables and other products greet you at the entrance. Great fresh delicious food selection, bakery and coffee shop is available too. ♥️

Google
Super convenient hours, especially since they open at 6am Prices are about what you'd think from a small grocery store in the city. Not great, but definitely reasonable. You'd pay the same or more at a convenience store, but The Daily has good selection and produce. They also have coffee, lattes, etc, to go, and fresh pastries. There is some seating, too, if you want to get a bite there. Overall, a great addition to the neighborhood.

Google
Great shop and such a convenient addition to the neighborhood. Walking distance from my apartment. Great selection, most of what you'd need or want. Has a surprising amount, to be honest. Plus pastries and coffee! The staff are friendly and welcoming as well. I've really enjoyed having this place here.

Google
It’s overpriced, and the food they prepare is not good at all… you all need a better cook or someone who knows how to season food. The thanksgiving turkey dish was so bad. The turkey had no seasoning I had to spit it out. The spanish rice was a joke. The tuna sandwich I got, I can make it better at home. The tuna was not seasoned well, all I tasted was celery and some mayo, and the bread was so thin… for $10. Please do not come eat here. I gave it plenty of chances bc it’s near my job… never again. The place is convenient for groceries, that are still overpriced, but that’s it. Owner: Thanks for your feedback, Ana. While we constantly strive to make improvements to satisfy and delight our guests, your critiques of us (and the other local businesses you've reviewed) are neither helpful nor constructive. You are so immature for replying to me this way, my critiques are helping people avoid places where they’re going to end up wasting their money on low quality services. My critique is this: hire someone who can cook. You don’t like it? Then that’s your problem as a business owner not mine. Maybe try not to be so closed minded next time instead of wasting my time with a backhanded response. Also, please focus on your business and customers instead of stalking my google page.

Google
Go to spot for our neighborhood. Just a great grocery store with everything you need and nothing you don't. Staff is fantastic and so pleasant and helpful. Selection/variety is straightforward and quality. Prices are fair. They are the only store my wife and I shopped during the quarantine as they created a clean, safe and organized environment from day one so it always felt stress free.

Google
Fantastic neighborhood market with lots of goodies in addition to the essentials. There’s a nice selection of delicious prepared foods ready to take and heat at home; we just had the salmon, and it was so tasty I realized I needed to write a review of this favorite local market. Be sure to check out the baked goods, and pick up a coffee, on your way out!

Yelp
Words cannot describe the love I have for the Daily Market. I used to live right next door to this fine establishment and it's probably one of the things I miss most about living in Savin Hill. The Daily is a neighborhood safe haven, especially for those days when you forgot to buy a tomato or onion for the red sauce you were planning to make for dinner. I miss the convenience and luxury of living right next to upscale local grocery store. Not only can you find fresh baked goods (e.g. breakfast pastries, desserts), but you can also find a deli, premade lunches like chicken fingers, sushi, or a Cobb salad. I love that the Daily has fine selection of alcoholic/nonalcoholic beverages as well as healthy organic snacks that you would find in Whole Foods. I especially love Recess and discovered the refreshing magnesium based drink here. Street parking is super easy to find on a side street or the Savin Hill Avenue.

Yelp
A lovely upscale market with premium brands, prepared foods and fresh produce. It is an aesthetically pleasing design inside with tall but wide food aisles. The baked goods looked heavenly including specialty cupcakes and torte. They have a coffee bar, with espresso. One can grab a bite a to eat and sit at a counter bar with plenty of plug in capacity. Stylish logo and staff uniform. One downside is coffee area is near door. Brrrrr in winter.

Yelp
I love the rossieterr bbq chicken Delicious and so good. I shop for fruit and dessert. Good soda. Hot bar and good dinner.

Yelp
What a great market right across the street from The Savin Hill T! I am so happy this place opened in my neighborhood. There are so many selections of food, and tons of gluten free items which is perfect as my son has celiac disease! In addition, they also have a fresh deli as well as fresh made meals to go. There is even an area to buy some fresh coffee and pastries!!! I also love the fact they mix regular day items with local and unique items that you wouldn't find at a stop and shop or star market. As for price, it is VERY competitive to Star Market, and cheaper than Whole Foods. I am a big proponent in shopping local/small business and this place is now my go to for all my grocery needs.

Yelp
So grateful to have this place in the neighborhood! Sayonara star market! Great varied selection, and bakery is wonderful. The pain au chocolat (they call it a chocolate croissant) is the best I have had outside of France. It's dangerous living so close, I'm going to get gordita ;). I'm excited to try more items. Owners are sweet people too.

Yelp
While in the store another customer began using the f word with me, being rude and aggressive. To store workers witnessed the situation and chose to do nothing. Furthermore, their sign says You must wear mask to enter the store but this gentleman was not wearing his mask. The store not only instigates gentrification it does not intercede when needed.

Yelp
Fantastic new market in Dot across from Savin Hill station. Loads of groceries, fresh produce, prepared foods, meat counter/butcher, small bakery section, and friendly, helpful team members! So happy it's here. Check it out.

Yelp
I absolutely love this market. They stock Just about everything and the prices are comparable and sometimes less expensive than the 2 supermarkets in our area. It is a real gem for the neighborhood.

Bro I come in here because it's a hidden gem in the hood. Customer service from the most wonderful Sean himself. Family friendly and clean environment with local n farmed goods.

Yelp
Found this place quite by accident. Great selection for all food preferences. Grocery, prepared foods, deli, bakery. They have it all. Highly recommend

Yelp
I find myself going to The Daily more and more. Just to avoid the large lines and the large supermarket I find everything I need at The Daily Good prices lots of variety! And so convenient! Love it there!

Yelp
This is our new favorite grocery store to go to. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, the pricing is fair and the options are great.

Keith M.

Yelp
Would be fine if they did something about the parking situation. There is literally no where to park your car. Let alone a city councilor lives right on the side of the place and he gets a special parking spot reserved for him.

Chris B.

Yelp
Depending on who waits on you at check out, the price changes. I have bought the same exact item for over a year. Sometimes it's 4.99, sometimes 5.99, sometimes 6.99, Has nothing to do with supply chain issues. It goes up and down depending upon employee. And plenty of attitude from behind the counter. Otherwise, prices are astronomical!. Prices are higher than Whole Foods or Trader Joes, without same selection or quality. I get that this is a smaller mom and pop, but they gouge away on the price tags. On the plus side there are some local made or New England made items which is great to see, but still very pricey. The location is great, but not worth it any more. Market Basket is still worth the trip

Yelp
Lovely new grocery store in Savin Hill. Large selection of products given the size of the store. The space itself was modern and welcoming, and the staff was warm. Glad to have them in the area now, and looking forward to shopping there again.

Yelp
Such a great new addition to the neighborhood! I've been a few times now and love all the great products I've found. Went this weekend to stock up on some things for the week but was nervous they might be low on stock due to coronavirus but everything was great. Fully stocked with everything I needed (and some things I didn't but just had to try)! The two working the check out were super friendly and was great seeing them use gloves to protect themselves. I got 2 everything bagels and the cinnamon pop tart for breakfast treats and they were AMAZING. My husband and I can't wait for our next trip for some more goodies. Thank you so much for staying open, well stocked and having a friendly, welcoming environment during this crazy time. We appreciate it more than you know!

Yelp
Great addition to the neighborhood. Great food choices, reasonably priced. Extremely well stocked for a store with limited space, with a variety of foods, including baked goods, meats, frozen foods, fruits and vegetables.
