Where to Drink Guinness in the Charlotte Area This Holiday Season | Eater

"The Daily is a sneaky walk-up spot in Uptown, serving up easy bites and hosting plenty of private parties. Lucky for the late-night crowds bopping through the city, food is served until midnight, including a double smash wagyu burger and those waffle fries nachos. Not bad for a midnight gorge. This single-room American tavern has also nailed down some creative, budget-friendly specials, from happy hour to game day and brunch packages for a flat fee that includes parking validation, wings, and more." - Kayleigh Ruller

Great late night spot with good drinks and tasty bar food. Close proximity to the Dunhill Hotel & other attractions in the area. 10/10 would drink here again

Google
Great waiter, a comfortable atmosphere, great nacho fries! $8 for a cider is a bit much but we enjoyed our visit!

Google
A wonderful local dive with gastropub offerings and friendly staff! We were in town for the Club World Cup and enjoyed it so much we went back for a second night. They were more than happy to put both soccer matches on so we could watch both, live. All the staff were friendly, but also didn't cut off us trying to watch the matches. We tried each of their recommendations like the roast chicken sandwich and chicken alfredo, each of which was fantastic. My salad was fresh and had plenty of chicken in it and just the right amount of dressing. Portions are a good size too! Looking forward to seeing them when I visit Charlotte again.

Google
Great food friendly staff, very reasonable prices. Wagyu smash burger and fries for under $20?!? Yes please! They also make a mean hot toddy, have live music, and know their whiskeys. Highly recommend for a chill dinner.

Google
I had an outstanding experience recently thanks to Tyler, the general manager, and Hannah, the bartender. Their professionalism and attention to detail were evident from start to finish. Tyler’s leadership was apparent in how smoothly everything ran, while Hanna's expert bartending added a touch of excellence to the evening. Her drink recommendations were spot-on, and the cocktails were fantastic. The food was equally impressive, with each dish delivered to perfection and bursting with flavor. An unexpected highlight was the claw machine they have on site. Not only did I have a blast playing, but I also won a delightful stuffed monkey, adding an extra layer of fun to the evening. Tyler and Hanna’s exceptional service, combined with great food and a fun claw machine, made for a truly memorable experience. Highly recommended!

Good bar, nice beer selection. Wings are really good. Good casual place to have a drink. Went for lunch so no live music but looks like a fun place at night.

Google
Cool dive bar with great food. Awesome steak with waffle fries, that has a delicious rosemarry butter on top. Also serves one of the best smash burgers in town.

Google
The bartenders are friendly and they have great drinks. They also have the best fried pickles! Plus they had live music the night I was there.

Yelp
We stopped by this bar for lunch during a trip to Charlotte and were pleasantly surprised! (It's right across a really awesome museum). The food was classic bar fare, but made with noticeably fresh ingredients. I had the chicken tenders with buffalo sauce. They were perfectly crispy, flavorful, and clearly just made. The waffle fries were piping hot and delicious, easily some of the best I've had. My husband ordered the waffle chicken sandwich and loved it!! Super filling and packed with flavor. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and the prices were surprisingly reasonable for the quality. There were TVs throughout the space showing live soccer games, which added a nice vibe without being too loud or distracting. Even during lunch hours, it wasn't crowded or overly noisy, just a great place to relax and enjoy a tasty meal. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.

Yelp
Food and service was equally amazing. I can't stay away from the shrimp and grits. Their burger is amazing too. The nacho fries (waffle fries) are to die for.

Yelp
Was visiting a dear friend while making hospital sales calls in Charlotte and he took me to the Daily. What a gem. The greeting from Michael the bartender made me feel like Norm. The food was great, served quickly and delicious. Will go back every time im in Charlotte!

Yelp
Went here late night to get some food and despite them being busy the food was amazing and it was quick. I had their white bean and quinoa burger with mozzarella sticks and my friend got their chicken sandwich. The food and my espresso martini were great, it hit the spot after a long day and I'll definitely be back!

Yelp
This was my first time here . It's in a centralized location, parking is street parking or garage . The restaurant itself is inviting and it feels like a small town bar. I loved the service I received from the bartender. She recommended great options based on our preferences. They have a live band that was there Tuesday night . I ordered the chicken and steak tacos and a side of waffle fries . It was surprisingly delicious! Not to mention the tacos were loaded with meat. Pricing was pretty decent for it to be in uptown . I will definitely be back !

Yelp
Service was great and staff very friendly. Wings were good. Stopped in for a few beers before Metallica concert. Mozzarella Stucks were also good, they give you a ton!

Yelp
Lenny and Lindsey are the best! We have been here two days and this was the best meal..grilled chicken sandwich and the sausage board...omg. chicken was juicy and perfectly done and the mustard on the board was just the touch that put it over the edge to amaze balls. The broccoli quest was unusual...and phenomenal!! Thank you to the two people that were the most knowledgeable and just down to earth good people. Worth the trip

Yelp
Good food. Good drinks. Live music many nights per week. They have 2 pool tables and an 2 outdoor areas that are awesome during the warmer months. 10/10.

Yelp
I am a fan! I came here last Sunday for brunch around 11:45 am, and luckily the restaurant was pretty empty that we were seated right away. We opted to sit outside since it was really warm outside, and it was a perfect decision (I ALWAYS get cold inside places). Anyways, I ordered the French Toast minus bacon, and my bf ordered southern benedict. I loved the french toast especially because the fruit and french toast pair so perfectly. I wasn't a fan of the apples since I don't like apples, but I still ate them. The only thing I have to complain about is the mimosa that I ordered. First off, I don't understand why there is a $1 charge to change the juice. I don't like OJ in my mimosa, I like other juices like grapefruit, strawberry, peach mango, or literally any other juice. Our waitress mentioned how there was a mimosa bar (which was way more expensive), but I didn't want to do that because I literally just wanted one or two if I really liked it. I asked for a Mango Mimosa knowing there would be an added charge to it, and then the waitress told me if I wanted another non-standard mimosa, she would charge me for the mimosa bar. So dumb. To my luck, the champagne that they use was WAYYYY too bubbly for me, and I didn't even enjoy it enough to order another one. I would recommend for food though!

Yelp
This restaurant had a classic tavern feel but the patio made it even better. My colleague and I had a Table against the outside railing which is located on the eastside of Church Street. I got an AP to drink and we started with a meat and cheese board that had an interesting assortment of meats, cheeses, fruit and candied walnuts. I was more interested in the hard salami and cheeses but my colleague enjoyed the fruit and walnuts a lot. I got the Daily Mac burger which was two burgers with cheese lettuce and tomato on a kosher bun. My colleague got the chicken club sandwich. Both came with a heaping pile of shoestring fries which tasted great on my burger. Both of us liked the apps and sandwiches and will definitely put this on our list of fav. lunch places in uptown. After this experience, I would also like to come after work and try it out for happy hour.

Yelp
Stopped into The Daily after seeing Hamilton at the Belk Theatre in Uptown Charlotte. It is only a few blocks away and made for an easy walk. It was a Sunday and much to my surprise was operating more as a night club rather than a restaurant (this was around 5pm). Because the music was so intense I opted to sit on the patio to enjoy a little post show meal. The food is delicious. For an appetizer I had the muscles which were in an amazin rich and buttery broth. For dinner it was comfort food with the chicken pot pie. My portion had a good dose of protein and went down quickly! The biscuit topping was also so so delicious. Brief menu, but I liked that. Great beer and drink list. Just a little bit of a funny atmosphere. You wouldn't post up here for a football game with Club Daily in the background. Not sure if it's like that ever Sunday. I would definitely try it again on another day.

Yelp
This restaurant is terrific! Every detail of this place is well thought out and done with style and care. They bring you tap water in chilled green bottles that look like you're drinking Pellegrino. Each wooden table is simply decorated with a pretty daisy and a mason jar candle. Just the right blend of rustic and charming. The bathrooms were immaculate! They didn't have a lot of beers that we knew of to choose from, so the waiter suggested Palmetto. They weren't to our liking. But he was! He provided terrific service. He was fast, attentive and friendly. The menu was rather small, and I didn't see a lot of items That weren't fried, but the prices were fair. You get a lot of bang for your buck! I would not hesitate to go back.

Yelp
This place was such a treat! We stopped in for Sunday brunch before the Panthers game. They have a vast selection of beers on draft from all around, which impressed me. The brunch menu was also diverse with sweet and savory options alike. There were some hardy-sounding salads which tempted me, but I settled on the French toast casserole (I'll make the healthy choice next time). The bacon came on the side even though for some reason I pictured it baked into the casserole, but everything was very good. I really enjoyed the cool mascarpone and fresh berries to balance the dense casserole and its syrup. I also thought the white cheddar biscuits we started with were a perfect little size, and the honey butter & pepper jelly sent them over the edge with flavor. It was my friend's birthday, so we were busy chatting & catching up that we hadn't really noticed that we'd been waiting a bit too long for our food. A woman who seemed like a manager came by the table and genuinely apologized saying that our ticket had somehow went missing. We told her what we had ordered and very soon after, our food arrived. Partway through the meal, she returned to check on us and said that she had comped all of our food, leaving us with just the drinks to pay for. Especially since we hadn't been impatient in the first place, we found this to be such a kind gesture. We really didn't feel like we had to wait abnormally long for the food, so it was a win-win for a yummy birthday brunch! Our server had been attentive, and sincere when apologizing for the wait and kitchen mix-up. Overall, the warm environment of The Daily Tavern is matched with its delicious food and thoughtful staff. Definitely recommend!

Yelp
My colleague-friends and I enjoyed an incredible late night meal at The Daily Tavern last night. First off, the restaurant is really cool; it's long and narrow inside and has an adjoining covered patio area which is where we decided to sit. There are lots of TVs both inside and out, which was great for catching up on some sports. We knew we were in great hands with our server, Lexi (hopefully I'm spelling that correctly!). She offered great suggestions and was on top of every drink refill or other need throughout our visit. We started with fried pickles and clams, both perfect for sharing. The fried pickles were plentiful and served in a basket with a side of ranch for dipping. The clams were in a delicious beer broth with crumbled sausage. Sliced baguette was served on the side - perfect for dipping. There were so many great choices on the menu, it was hard to decide. I opted for the butcher's cut, a sliced skirt steak which was tender and super flavorful. It was served with garlic mash and asparagus. It was fantastic! Everyone else at the table enjoyed their meals as well. As we were preparing to leave, Lexi asked if anyone wanted to take a soft drink to go. I'm staying in a hotel so this kind gesture was greatly appreciated and I happily took her up on some club soda. I'm so impressed by Charlotte's dining scene and The Daily Tavern is a restaurant I'd love to visit again next time I'm in town!

Yelp
This is my second time visiting Charlotte, and my second time checking out The Daily Tavern. Last time we just popped in for a few drinks and gave their delicious picklebacks a shot (pun intended). This time we were very very hungry so decided to do a couple of shareable starters and then each ordered an item from the main dishes section. The Drunken Oysters and Fried Pickles to start were incredible and so so tasty. Everyone at the table was blown away and they should definitely be on list if you have interest in Oysters or Pickles. My main dish I went with the chicken club and oh my goodness it was one of the best sandwiches I've had. It also came out with a mountain full of string fries and they were great as well! I would definitely tell anyone nearby to give them a shot. The staff is great and our server Lexi was extremely friendly, diligent and helpful. Thanks again!

Yelp
11/3/19 Visited after a few friends recommended we try this place. Arrived around 11:45am on Sunday (Panthers Game Day!) grabbed a few seats at the bar. Greeted by a very friendly and knowledgeable bartender, Papa. He mixed us up a couple fantastic Bloody Marys and then we tried the white cheddar biscuits and beef Jersey... holy moly! Fantastic!!

Yelp
I came here last night for a snack & drink with my friend prior to attending a concert. We really enjoyed it! It's definitely got that "tavern feel." They play great music and the service was impeccable! Joe was outstanding. Personable and friendly! We each had a drink and shared an order of the wings. My only complaint is that there were only 7. Why not 8 or 10, or an even number in general? A little odd to me, no pun intended. However, these were absolutely delicious! Homemade hot sauce and a smoky & spicy flavor. I can't wait to come back to try more menu items!

Yelp
Outstanding SERVICE!!! This was our first time stumbling upon this place. I know this place has been several different bars in past 10 years but I'm really hoping this one sticks around. I love the vintage vibes of the place very cool. The two bartenders Angel and Papa I think their names were. They went above and beyond to make us have a great experience! Hats off to them, we will definitely be back because of that!!! Would love to try their food next time for sure, menu looked appealing...LOVED THE HOMEMADE BEEF JERKY!!!!!
google avatar

Rachel M.

Yelp
Came here on a rainy evening for a drink after going to the Christmas market close by. We had our dog but they have a really nice covered patio with heaters so we were comfortable. Our server was friendly and quick. We ordered a few beers and the fried pickles. The fried pickles were delicious!! Crisp with great flavor. Good selection of beer too.

Yelp
Tried out The Daily Tavern after hanging out in Uptown with the Mrs. and working up an appetite. It was later in the evening maybe 9pm or so and when we first arrived we were probably 2 of 15 people here which after navigating the crowds to get here we didn't mind. Eventually the crowd picked up and the staff kicked into high gear which was really cool to watch. I couldn't resist getting the beef jerky as a snack. It was very tender, but just a little too salty for my personal preference. I would order it again and bank on the idea that maybe I just had a salty batch. The rest of our food was on par with what you'd expect from ine if the better bars in CLT. The drinks were tasty and made with flare. Definitely a place I'd go to again!

Yelp
The Daily Tavern is one of my favorite places to go in uptown. The staff are always friendly and attentive and while every time I've been there it's been crowded I've never had a issue getting a bar stool or table. We've had dinner there a few times as well as brunch and the food has been delicious. My favorite menu item is the biscuits so I highly recommend trying them with the honey butter and pepper jelly. On our most recent visit we ordered the chicken club and pot pie both of which were filling and super flavorful. We will absolutely be back again!

Yelp
The Daily Tavern is a great addition to the Uptown bar and restaurant scene. We popped in with a couple of friends last night to grab dinner and drinks before seeing a movie. I love the way the bar is decorated and laid out, but keep in mind that the space is very dark (only a couple of windows) so I personally think it's best for a bad weather day or sometime in the Fall or Winter when you're looking for some place warm. We grabbed four seats at the bar and the service was quick and friendly. They have a full bar, a large beer selection and about 10 different by the glass wine selections. The food is awesome. We ordered the white cheddar biscuits to start...comes with butter and pepper jelly, so good. The chicken wings are also really good and the ranch is bomb. I love that they're served with pickled veggies. Everything else we ordered (burger with shoestring fries, fruit and nut salad with chicken, beef jerky) was really tasty and great portions. There are TV's in the bar so I'm thinking this is a great spot for football season. We will be back!

Yelp
The Daily Tavern is the most affordable bang for your buck brunch spots in all of Charlotte right now! They have high quality tasting food without breaking your wallet and an atmosphere that works just right. We order beef jerky and wings to start for brunch as we sat out on the patio because it was a beautiful day outside. I wanted the devil eggs but they were out. Please judge me on all the meat I consumed via appetizers ... but it was so good! The wings hands down are so balance in taste and I think The Daily Tavern is one of the top places to get wings at a none wing joint! They bake them first then fry them and add their sauce to it! Literally finger licking good but far better than KFC. The jerky was moist and had a great taste and kick to it as well. The southern fried chicken biscuit is the way go here! It is a warm sausage gravy cooked just right and drizzled around a fluffy warm butter biscuit with the moist crunchy chicken and egg in the middle. The flavors sent my mouth into an overdrive of wonderfulness! I highly recommend given it a try! We also got the French toast that comes with a fruit topping that was very good as well. I am definitely coming back here more often!!! You will not be disappointed with the food or service. Hope to see you there too. Share the love if you agree.

Yelp
We were there last night and I was pleasantly surprised at how great everything was! I can't wait to go back! We tried the Jerky, meat and cheese plate and fried pickles to start. No complaints. The beef jerky had a wonderful flavor and texture. For my main dish I had the pot pie and it was hands down the best I've ever had. I adored the little kick of spice it had. Not overwhelming but a seasoned beautifully. Really enjoyed my Tequila Mockingbird drink as well. We will be back!

Yelp
Love the Daily- especially for brunch with my peeps and dog. The bamboo patio is a great dining spot! Intimate and cool, with TVs too. Music was upbeat and chill. Everyone is super friendly and helpful, seems like they really like their jobs which is nice. Ask for Angel if you want a super experience- he's a great guy. Food was great - Southern Benedict (Cheddar biscuit, fried chicken, over easy egg, sausage gravy) and The Daily Mac (house-ground double burger, jack cheese, and awesome skinny fries).

Yelp
The service here was great. We came in before the happy hour crowd made it in, but once they did, this place was busy. Despite the chaos, our server was super attentive and pleasant. I highly recommend the local creamy pale ale on draft, it was a new one for me and delicious. The food menu is short, but I decided to give the fried pickles a shot. The serving size was generous and taste was perfection. The short ribs were a miss for me though. I was excited to try the interesting blueberry barbecue combo flavor, but it was odd. The slaw, however, was good and exactly the tangy flavor I expected from NC. You also can't go wrong with the shoestring fries. They too were cooked to crispy warm perfection.
google avatar

Kieran M.

Yelp
If you want to eat a meal here, do not order the delicious cheddar biscuits first. Each one weighs about 6-7 lbs and comes with honey butter. Once you start eating them, you won't have room for much else. I would recommend starting with the beef jerky, though. It's a great way to enjoy a snack while you sip on a cocktail. The beef jerky and the white cheddar biscuits were the highlight for me. The cocktails and wings were fine, but I would come back here for the beef jerky and biscuits, with a couple of drinks.

Yelp
Sunday Funday calls for two things---Great drink specials and food! This was my first visit to "The Daily". I'm a fan of any establishment with purse hooks Under the bar. My friends and I arrived around 1:30PM (no wait time). I expected the bar to be packed, only a few tables were occupied. We choose to sit at the bar, the bartender was most informative. To our delight mimosas were special for $5! Yesss!! I ordered the chicken wings--A perfect game day appetizer! I must say these were the best wings I've had in a long time. The flavor was amazing! Baked, fried, then tossed in a homemade hot sauce. The wings weren't too spicy, I liked the crisp texture. We also orders the White Cheddar biscuits with honey butter and peppered jelly. I didn't care for the peppered jelly much. Overall, I look forward to visiting "The Daily" again soon.
google avatar

Lauren K.

Yelp
The Daily was great!! I called ahead for an 8 PM table for 5 on a Friday and they held a table for us no problem on the patio. Landon was a great server, the food came out quickly, the beer and cocktail selection (we didn't try any wines) was great and their vegetarian options were fantastic. They do a white bean burger and instead of serving it with fries, they automatically serve it with a side of veggies (carrots and cauliflower) because the fries are cooked in animal fat. The burger was great and the consideration of vegetarians was very thoughtful. We'll definitely be back next time we are uptown!
google avatar

Tonya R.

Yelp
The Daily Tavern seemed to cater to a lot of business people getting off work at the time we came in and had to wait a bit for a table. We ordered the Cheddar Curds for an appetizer. They were just okay and was close to being over cooked. We also ordered the Little Neck Linguine and the Chicken Club. The chicken club was a big sandwich that bordered on the dry side. The linguine was again a dish that was just okay. We came here because it had 4.5 stars. This place is definitely more of a beer and bar food place and definitely not a nice place to sit and eat.
google avatar

Megan K.

Yelp
Love this place, as a casual restaurant/bar with tons of beer on tap and lots of outdoor seating. I'm in town visiting and wanted a casual place after a long afternoon of exploring, with some outdoor space and delicious food, which did not disappoint! It's a Thursday so beers were $4 so my friend got a cider which she loved. We both incidentally ordered the chicken pot pie and a side of fries. The crust on top was crispy and buttery. The pie itself had chicken peas and carrots with a bit of a kick in the sauce. Combined it was homey, not too heavy. The portion of fries were huge and I'm glad we split. They were thin and crispy, easily enough to share. Our server was great and I loved the environment! Glad we stopped by!
google avatar

Matt S.

Yelp
Apparently one of those places where they advertise a good-sounding burger, but ask you how you would like it cooked, even though it'll come out well done regardless of what you request. Other than that, this place has a nice atmosphere and seems fun to hang out at. OK craft beer selection. A lot of options, yet Guinness was the only dark beer on the list.
google avatar

Adrian B.

Yelp
Popped in to pass a little time before a show. Nice wine selection and atmosphere for lingering with friends and having conversation. The food selection was nice. We split several appetizers which were maybe priced slightly above what they are but with good company and drinks that's the least of our concerns!
google avatar

Yelp
What a great choice for a pre-Panthers game hangout. I mean, the location is far enough from the stadium that people don't really think about it as their first choice but close enough to be less than a 10 minute walk. AND between their drink specials and hearty comfort food, it's perfect. Yesterday was The Lady and my second time coming here, and the food, like last time, did not disappoint. Although dark inside, there's a large variety of seating between the bar, high tops, tables, and the patio (covered in the winter, yessss). Their drink special of the day was $5 Jameson drinks, which for me, came in the form of a Jameson Ginger and an Irish Mule. Kudos to the bartender who came up with more ideas for me! Food is elevated but nowhere near pretentious - like the crab gnocchi sitting right next to a hot dog. The Lady and I wanted to share some things so we got the meat and cheese board as well as the vegetable bowl (farro, brussel sprouts, other fall-y type things). Warning, portions are BIG here. They actually split our bowl into 2 separate bowls and it *still* looked like an entree at any other restaurant. Talk about bang for your buck. Just as a tip, they now validate parking in the nearby garage, so you don't have to deal with uptown hell as much! I'm looking forward to coming back here again on Wednesday, when they have $5 Whiskey nights. Hello, Redbreast.

KLynn S.

Yelp
Great drinks and loved that they had vegetarian/vegan options!! The white bean + quinoa burger was sooo delicious!! Also really enjoyed having lunch out on their cute patio! Would definitely recommend!

Yelp
What a charming little place. Our server, Christi, was absolutely fabulous. Not being from Charlotte we were still finding our way around town. She was knowledgeable about the area and took the time to chat with us (who does that?) The charcuterie was just the right amount for two and the mimosa's were delightful. We enjoyed the fried pickles as an appetizer. Yum! The tavern does have an inhouse dj which you can hear from the patio. This is a sports bar so there is a good view of a tv screen from just about any table. We found this place charming and if we ever find ourselves back in Charlotte we will most definitely spend some time here.

Yelp
Ambience, Ambience and more Ambience!! It was very lovely. With a lot of exposed brick and amazing outside lighting, this place is for sure a looker. We attended for a birthday gathering and it was very nice. The waitress greeted us within 3 mins of joining our party and took our drink order. I ordered my fave cognac with a splash of ginger and lime. THE ONLY REASON they received this 3 is due to those drinks. They were very weak and tasted watered down. I assumed it was just that one so I ordered another one however this time a whiskey and spritzer. Still very weak! This really bummed me out as I love a good drink however THE PORK RIBS!!! OMG!! This were sooo delicious. They have a kind of grape/blueberry jam taste along with the tender meat that fell off the bone which was SUBLIME!!! TRUST ME, you will not be disappointed. However stick with a water or fountain drink.
google avatar

Kristen S.

Yelp
Two highlights of this place: The patio area is very cute The buttermilk ranch served with the fried pickles Our server was very sweet but not the most knowledgable. I got a salad which was very short on the amount of bacon.... and very heavy in the dressing. I may have just ordered wrong (and maybe a little boring). Overall though it was a fine experience... I would go back. The fried pickles were quite yummy.

Yelp
If you are looking for a neighborhood bar feel this is the place for you. Always reminds me of "how I met your mother" bar. It has a chill vibe where you can bring your friends to hang for the night.

Yelp
Andrew helped me to set up this wonderful outing/happy hour for my colleagues after a long day of helping to set up Uptown Charlotte for the Pride Parade. We had apps, lots of cold, frosty drinks, a shady place to rest, and a wonderful and attentive server who made us feel right at home! Thank you so much for welcoming a bunch of tired, smelly workers!! We LOVED the food and drinks, the atmosphere was relaxed and lovely, and we WILL be back soon!!

Yelp
To the team, to PaPa! Thank you for making every visit feel special. Your food is incredible and your hugs and handshakes forever welcoming

Yelp
Despite a few negatives, i absolutely love this place! Negatives: Not a place to watch sports. TVs are tiny. My computer monitor at work is bigger than the TV at the bar. There are others that are a little bigger. Okay for the casual sports fan. Really loud if you are over 37 and four months. Acoustics issue i think. Sometimes thI bartender can't hearMusic is great though. Wings - one sauce to rule them all? It is a good sauce but it tries to be spicy, zesty and yummy. I can pull that off but the sauce doesn't. Give me a few choices dammit! Everything else is great. Bartenders are one of the best crews in Uptown which says a lot. Collectively they are smart, professional, knowledgeable, funny and hot. Strong food options. Really enjoyed the pot pie, gnocchi, oysters and chopped salad over the course of several visits. Beer selection is excellent and includes many locals. Only tried one of their cocktails. It was good but too sweet for me. Love The Daily! So this place has been open for a while since my first review. We live one block away and happy to say we still give five stars. We still come for the drinks and the food. More often than not, we order the pot pie and the wings. The biscuit are to die for. Their strawberry jam on a biscuit is heaven. We also occasionally enjoy Brunch. The bartender staff has changed but they are in great hands with Papa. Living in uptown, you get to know the best bartenders/servers. There are some great people everywhere but I can say without pause that none of them are nicer and more customer service focused than Papa. He always remembers us and the second we walk through the door, he is greeting us. There is no one who treats their customers better. If you want to go where the locals go for great food and great service, The Daily is that place.

Yelp
My husband and I came across this gem when we were at a hotel a few blocks away. I always find that many restaurants in uptown Charlotte are either too busy or too upscale for what I'm usually looking for, but the Daily Tavern really hit the spot! The atmosphere is very cozy, even though there is lots of room for seating. They also have quite a few TVs if you're looking for a game! We shared the olives and bread while deciding because everything sounded so delicious. I ended up ordering the crab and bacon gnocchi, which was honestly one of the best soups I have ever had. You can't go wrong with gnocchi, and theirs is amazing! My husband had the roasted chicken club, which looked great as well. We will definitely be returning to try more next time we're in town. That pot pie (& burger with mac and cheese) won't eat itself!

Yelp
The daily tavern is a great brunch spot! The food was delicious and and the ambience was very cool and trendy. I highly recommend the southern fried chicken biscuit. The chicken was very moist and flavorful and was topped with sausage gravy. The servers were also very friendly and personable. The only downside is the brunch menu is a little limited and if you are looking for your typical brunch fare you won't find it here. But the food they do offer is great. So if you are willing to step out from the usual eggs and bacon you won't be disappointed. Just make sure you get the biscuits
