The Best Bars In Santa Monica - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"The Daily Pint is a 20-something-year-old English pub/dive that might not look like much, but you’re not going to find a better craft beer list on the Westside (not to mention their 500 kinds of whiskey). Quirky, dimly lit, with old pool tables scattered about, this is the kind of place 50-year-old pirates go to get their Stone Imperial Russian Stout and reminisce about ports of call." - brant cox, sylvio martins

The Daily Pint Review - Santa Monica - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"In a town that doesn’t exactly hold on to its past, the Daily Pint remains a classic. The 25-year-old English pub/dive might not look like much, but the fact remains you’re not going to find a much better craft beer list on the Westside (not to mention those 300 kinds of whiskey either). Quirky, dimly lit, with old pool tables scattered about, this is the kind of place 50-year-old pirates go to get their Stone Imperial Russian Stout and reminisce about ports of call." - Brant Cox

I had an amazing experience at The Daily Pint Bar recently, and I wanted to take a moment to recognize Manny, the manager, for his exceptional service. From the moment I walked in, Manny was attentive, friendly, and made sure every detail of my visit was perfect. He took the time to recommend some great drinks. Manny is passionate about creating a welcoming atmosphere and making every guest feel valued. Also great to know he’s a SM local running the bar. I’ll definitely be back for the great service and overall experience. Highly recommend!

Always chill, even on occasion people are friendly and talkative. Can play pool or darts or other games. I like the decore, pennies under resin on the oak bar, bathrooms are nice since the refurbishing. Prime Pizza walking distance (a lil far but not bad). Park across the street. Coffee place I haven’t been to a few doors down that closes shortly after this place opens. Lazy Daisy breakfast location right next door. Street parking at meters, or park down in the neighborhood south on the cross streets, not far at all. Sometimes I park and jog at the park then stop here. Also I like the jukebox app they got going. There’s also back alley parking and entrance. They just started offering pretzel, dog, snacks, I used to have to go to grey block pizza, now prime pizza. There are other Mexican, fast food, and 7/11 joints nearer. There’s a Whole Foods less than a block away too.

This place is a gem. Very traditional pub, sentimental man’s heaven. None of the booming/flashing music and “fabulous” fake crowds Just a great place to meet friends and neighbors, friendliest staff with solid service. And that whisky wall - let’s just sit down and give respect. We will be back very soon

Went here super bowl Sunday due to a change of plan. I was pleasantly surprised by this establishment and it's atmosphere. It was all very enjoyable and the staff was very friendly. Big screen TV's and many beverages to choose from. Conveniently located, and easy to get to by bus or car.

Google
This is my kind of high-end dive bar! Large beer selection. Possibly a cider on tap and one on the bottle. Two pool tables that take quarters, the balls may or may not have number on them and/or repeated numbers. There are also PAC-MAN machines, and connect 4. Incredible gold women’s restroom!

Google
I ordered hard kombucha and the bartender, Maggie, gave me sweet tea with vodka. I had two glasses and noticed on the third and she was rude when being confronted. Terrible experience.

Yelp
I used to visit the Daily Pint back in the day when I was a student at SMC. I am glad to report this is still a great spot to hang out, whether in a group, on a date night, with girls on a night out, or even if you want to catch a drink by yourself. People are friendly and down-to-earth here. You can dress up or down; you will be welcome here no matter what and no matter where you are from. Easy street parking. They have non-alcoholic beer!

Have drinks at a local bar. It's always quiet and chill. Everybody in the bar is so cool.

One dollar pool, a great draft list, and excellent service. What more can you ask for?

Yelp
We went for a bloody Mary on mothers day and Jake did an amazing job!. Perfect hand made drink with a great attitude, super nice. Mellow on a Sunday afternoon. 5 stars!

Yelp
New owners still haven't opened the doors. Everything was perfect, then it sold, and they closed the doors painted it royal blue and haven't opened. I've owned multiple bars and in a situation like this they're either gonna gentrify it and make a nightmare or open the doors. It's a choice to not just take the keys and stay open. Hopefully they don't ruin our local gem like lost and found got done. It's pitiful. Everyday we Lose a dive in la and it pains me (and all of us) to see something like the pint possibly lose it's footing. To the owners: we don't need another cocktail kook bar we just want our bar back. Don't try to make it something it's not you will fail. Long live the pint we are waiting on y'all. I will happily change this to a 5 star review when I stop hearing excuses.

Yelp
An old friend once described The Daily Pint to me as "kind of a dive bar" which I'm sure you'll find to be apt once you step inside and start nursing a drink. There are pool tables and TVs playing sports games, sure, but what really makes this neighborhood haunt stand out is the impressive whiskey selection. (Unfortunately, the whiskey here isn't accompanied by dive bar prices but hey, you'll be able to order your poison of choice neat or on the rocks without walking around on sticky floors.) If you get hungry after happy hour here, walk across the street and hit up the hot bar at Whole Foods 365. Because "kind of dive bars" can still be walking distance from chicken wings. (Just don't follow my friend's example and eat them in line before you've actually paid for them.)

Vanessa M.

Yelp
Great atmosphere and drinks. Reasonably priced. We always come back and will continue to!

Yelp
Great place except they really gouge you on bourbon prices. They charge $62 a shot for (WSR)Weller special reserve that retails for $25 a bottle. $125 for (GTS) George T Stagg which retails for $99 a bottle. The mark up is ridiculous and who knows how long those bottles have been opened at those prices. After six months of being opened that bottle should be sold or put into retirement. I better see the bottle being opened at these prices. But The downside is a neck pour. Anyway Daily pint lower the prices and maybe you will actually start selling the whiskey instead of collecting dust on all those bottles. It's pays to look around at local competitors prices. But honestly it's a great "collection" of undrinkable whiskeys at those prices.

Yelp
Nice little pub with good layout. Bar centred and service both sides. Comfortable ,chilled atmosphere. Like it! Somewhat of a British pub image but looks more American to me with the exposed brickwork and only American sports on the tv. The bathrooms are dazzling! You have to see the bathrooms. One star taken off for prices. Way too expensive for a British or American pub! I guess they need to pay for the interstellar bathroom but you certainly won't be getting drunk here at those prices. None the less I'll definitely return.

Yelp
Matthew was kind at first but as the night went on it got progressively worse, he was drinking on the job and literally threw the drink at my friend and got mouthy with other customers. Asked for last call at 1:30. He got super aggressive and we weren't bad customers. Ordered 3 ultras and 3 lemon drop shots within 3 hours. As a bartender I know last call is within 5 mins of closing and he refused everyone drinks at 1:30.

Yelp
The Daily Pint has awesome vibes and a spectacular selection of whisky and beer. I enjoyed a Kilkenny Irish Red Ale, which I've never seen in any other bar. Unless, I'm back in Santa Monica, I may need to make a special trip to Ireland to hunt this beer down!

Yelp
Used to come here years ago when I went to SMC in 2018 and 2019. Loved the beer and whiskey selection especially as I was recently 21/22 and wanted to try new things at my local spot. Post covid I was very excited to hear the Daily Pint was open again with a sleek new face-lift. I revisited on a Sunday night to reminisce only to be presented with a very strange interaction As I was waiting to order a beer, a very drunk bartender greeted me and asked for my ID. I presented it to her to which she immediately called it fake. I am 26, balding, and have a full beard. I simply reply that it is not, to which the bartender threatens to cut my real california ID. Not wanting to argue in fear of losing my driver's license I left. I'd like to return to one of the first dives I ever fell in love with but I cannot return because I need my driver's license.

Yelp
Used to be a regular when Phil owned it. Went last night and ordered a St. Bernardis 12. Was $12 and menu said it was in a tulip. I was served a glass of 3/4 foam in a stout glass. Clearly: 1) The beverage line was not set up properly for this high carbonation beer resulting in a high degree of foaming. 2) The server didn't know that it was not acceptable to serve a glass that was 3/4 foam 3) That this beer should have been served in a Chalice, which they had, or at the very least, the tulip that was listed on the board. All in all, it was so bad I had to give it back and get an IPA, which they managed to do a better job of serving. Overall, pretty disappointing. If you're going to be a beer bar, then you should properly store and serve your beer, and you should train your bartenders, so they have some clue of what they are doing. To be blunt, this would not have happened at Fathers Office.

Yelp
2 shots of Aldbeg 10yr 2 shots of Nikka Yoichi 2 drafts of Boddingtons ale Total bill $250!! Did we get robbed? Was the Japanese whiskey that expensive?? Lesson learned to ask for the price before you order.

Yelp
They say this place is closed I haven't been for a while so I don't know. Great bar huge selection of scotch, Great place for scotch tasting and trying different varieties. I once drank so much scotch here I challenged Michael Flatley Lord of the dance to a dance off over e-mail! He never responded probably scared.
google avatar

James C.

Yelp
This place is a g*damn gold mine. Now, I'm not a huge beer guy but I do like some diversity. A Irish Amber Ale sometimes, or an actual German Pilsner. A small batch local IPA or a seasonal Bavarian Märzen. All here, and good choices. But really, the prize here is the whiskey selection. Lots and lots of accessible scotch, bourbons and Irish whiskeys. It's actually kind of beautiful.

Alphonso D.

Yelp
Nikki treated me very well when I came Saturday night. I truly appreciate the service. Atmosphere was very chill and they have two pool tables. Dope spot and it's very lowkey when I went on a Saturday night.

Yelp
Good selection of whiskey prices are good. It's under new management and I haven't been since inwill have to try it soon

Yelp
This was a while ago, but this bar experience was among my favorites. I'm not a huge drinker, so me ending up a bar known for basically being a drinking bar was a questionable call. It's called the daily pint, and after seeing observing some of the orders, it should probably be called the daily fifth. Jokes aside, my buddy recommends this place, as he was supposed to meet an old friend there, and my brother and I would just crash the bro date. We show up, and immediately I'm like trying to get a bud light but being shamed into getting a not bud light. I don't know what I got, as all non bud light beers are just not good to me, but the glass was huge. Imagine what you think is a huge glass, and then 2x it. It was that big. I wasn't particularly mad about it, but I was certainly surprised. We wait for my buddy's friend to show up but he never does - I guess no one is safe from ghosting. RIP, hang in there Rich. We get to chopping with the bartender. She is 11/10 chill AF. A straight chiller. Really just absolutely ice cold in the department for how chill she was. We tell he we hail from the Bay, and so all of the sudden she's got a bunch of songs about San Francisco playing. I'm only cultured on like 2000's emo and 80's hair metal, so I'm just playing along, but my cultured buddy seems to be picking up what she was putting down. Still wondering why anyone would write a song about SF. My buddy then does like a straight whiskey flight. As far as flights are concerned, this is transatlantic, because he is sending it for a good time and a long time. He must have had like 10 different whiskeys, and I'm like just cruising on this mega beer. My interest is piqued on the whiskey happenings, as I had hair on my chest once (it was like 3, but I shaved them, it's embarrassing). They (my buddy and the bartender) get talking about what my buddy is gonna buy me. They choose like a $40 scotch, and I'm like "I am not worth $40, give me 2 bud lights and that's the end of this conversation." I get my 2 bud lights, another bartender shows up, we chop, and probably an hour went by of 5 people talking about nothing; it was awesome. I have no idea how long we stayed, but judging by the size of the beers, it was definitely at least 4 years. I would say if you're looking for a chill spot to have 1-47 drinks, you've found it, and if you like whiskey, they've got about 200 to choose from.

Wendy S.

Yelp
Love this iconic whiskey bar. We visit when on the westside for a pour of our favorite drink. Josie is my favorite bartender! She pours a great drink, is always smiling and super fun to be around. Huge fan!
google avatar

Karen C.

Yelp
Great dive bar feel, but -1 Star for the non-dive bar prices, except the Weihenstaphaner beer on tap, that comes in an extra large tall draft glass! You can play pool, watch sports, and still talk in a dark dive bar setting. Lots of whiskey / scotch selections, too! I wish one day they would do a whiskey tasting, because it's basically way too costly to try more than a few whiskeys in a night there, so be wary of how quickly drinks add up!

Pundres C.

Yelp
It's a dive bar. A wonderful, stale beer smelling dive bar. The selection is great, whether you want beer or hard liquor.
google avatar

Yelp
Rudest people... Literally just called at 1:15 for them to tell me that they don't sell strangers play 1:20, but they close at 2am!!! Clearly a pool game and my money wasnt acceptable for then

Yelp
Great selection of Irish Whiskey and other Irish treats. Though the whiskey is the draw for me.

Yelp
I have been at TDP many times, and I generally think it is a great bar for whisky. But they have a serious problem with their beer tap system lately, which I suspect is not being rigorously cleaned as it should. I was there last tuesday afternoon, and all of the beer I had was completely musty and ruined. These are beers I am familiar with and have had recently at other locations, tasting perfectly fine. There's no point in pouring Blind Pig if it's going to pour tasting like TD Joe's six month old non-refrigerated Mission St. Also, and more worryingly, the bartender woman gave me a fairly unjustifiable attitude. They were pouring IPAs in those open belgian chalice glasses, and I asked if she could pour my beer in a tulip or snifter instead. She said no and asked me why I wanted that. I said I thought tulips are good retaining hop aroma, and are also easier to swirl, and she said "I work in beer and I think you're buying into some bs". I understand if they have a pouring policy, but to respond in that way is plain rude and actually remarkably hypocritical when she is pouring beer in that state. If she 'works in beer' she would know that what was coming from those taps was unjustifiable. Frankly, very disappointing.

Yelp
Beer & Whiskey! Not that I'm an alcoholic, but I'm a fan of venues where people can come together, and just have a good time. Whether it's a bar, or not - it's one of the reasons for living. Or it should be. To just be with others, with not a care in the world, except, maybe, what to drink. For me, I didn't see food, but I heard someone mention that you have to order takeout from nearby establishments. There are two pool tables, a shuffle board, a foosball table and a big screen TV. Not much else needed. Well, except beer and Whiskey. And this place has a lot of that on hand. The whiskey collection is insane. It's like the afterworld for alcoholics. There's one wall, from floor to ceiling, of nothing but bottles and bottles. Bourbon, Scotch, Beer, Casked Beer - name it - I believe they had it. As for the service, my interaction with one of the bartenders was fine. There was a female bartender, who we didn't interact with, but she was friendly enough from what I could see. It's a fun place. Loud though so don't go expecting to have nice intimate conversations. Lots of parking across the street at the park as well as on the street. Read the signs though.
google avatar

Kevin L.

Yelp
A typical dive-y bar with a large selection of pretty much everything. A couple of pool tables and cramped seating. YAY! Drinks are reasonably priced at around $10-$12. I got the Red and White Wietbier. They also have a selection of whiskeys. It gets extremely loud so get your voices prepped and your ears wide open so you can communicate with your buddies. The place gets extremely packed so it's a bit annoying but I guess that's a sign of a poppin' bar. Not sure if I'd prefer to come back again but definitely has it's charm if the dive bar scene is what you are looking for.
google avatar

Shawna G.

Yelp
This little dive bar is pretty standard. There is only street parking available, which is a bummer. Once you get inside, there are plenty of places to sit, pool tables and some awesome liquor decor. The drinks are average, I believe their beer and cider selection is good, but the cocktails are nothing special. A great place for a quick drink after work, but if it is a hot day, it can get really humid inside.
google avatar

Alexis L.

Yelp
Was there last night. Won't ever be back which is a bummer, because the prices are reasonable and the setting is cool with the pool tables and shuffle boards. Went there with a semi large Work group and the bartender was EXTREMELY rude. If I wasn't there with my staff, I would have left. I ordered a round of drinks and when I was trying to finish saying my order (after he gave me the wrong drinks which I accepted and just ordered more) , he said to me "I'm the captain, not you." . We were all appalled! And then he proceeded with calling me Miss Devile. We were very confused, because I was just trying to order drinks for everyone and was very friendly even when receiving the wrong drinks. It was a big order, you would think he would want to make some money. It gets better. Later, a man tried to follow me into the restroom. Luckily my bf saw And came and grabbed him. The bartender was extremely rude to me and my bf about it and pretty much calling me a liar. Again, appalled. It is obvious he was a complete sexist. Will not be back. Will take my parties elsewhere since he doesn't want the business.

Yelp
Very interesting spot. I've been twice alone. I think it would be more fun with friends. It's a total local spot though and they know it. The bartenders recognize you treat you accordingly. If you don't know much about beer or whisky come in meekly and ask for advice. You may still get a sharp response, but be persistant and gentle and you'll end up with a wonderful beverage. The whisky is by far the most impressive selection I've ever seen, they also have some fantastic craft beers. Game tables are also in the side room which makes it a good male bonding place.

Yelp
The Daily Pint ...going up, on a TUESDAY (in my best Makonnen voice) It was packed this past Tuesday night! I sat at the bar, waiting for my friend and observed the variety of people hanging out... group of 5-6 friends (guys & girls) Tindering behind me, an older gentleman left after having a drink at the bar alone, several couples there having a drink, games going on at the pool tables... it was going up at The Daily Pint.... on a Tuesday! Quite the impressive selection of whiskey here, but I ordered Tito's and soda... Bartender was nice, he asked and made sure to know my preference of fruitage to accompany my beverage -I appreciated that. I acknowledge the little things. That's what makes places GREAT in my eyes. I'd go back here again for a divey, dark, and casual spot to hang for a drank, after work.

Tony M.

Yelp
Love the daily Pint! Such an amazing local spot. The Scottish gal behind the bar is always friendly and takes great care of us. Whether it's with my boys are on client outings always have a blast. If you want a authentic bar in Santa Monica and enjoy the friendly atmospher, The Daily Pint is highly recommended.

Yelp
I love this place but ever since the bartender guy being so rude and disrespectful im not coming back.

Yelp
When I think of a "Dive Bar", I think of the Daily Pint! Maaaaaaannnnn, I love this place... beer, whiskey, and a bunch of solid bar games on the other side with plenty of places to put your pint down. This is the perfect place to go to after work during the so called happy hour. You ain't trying to stay out late and miss out on dinner with the wifey and fam, but you're trying to hang out with colleagues and random people so you feel like you have some sort of outside life to keep up with current events in the society of your local town. Yup! The Daily Pint... doesn't matter if you work at Taco Bell or Yahoo.com, you all can still enjoy a drink or five at The Daily Pint! What's even better about this place is that you can bet against your colleagues or some random playing a game on one side and then hop onto the other side to collect your winnings of a new brew or whiskey... win or lose, you're going to learn about new brews or scotches that you've never tried before and soon you'll be schooling some chump on these libations in the future when you've beat them on a game from the other side of the bar. So fucking rad! Parking blows chunks here though... better get on Google and start searching like a mo' fo' for a spot.... Yeah, the type of spot with no dress code and no cover... HOLLA! P.S. A food truck might appear in front of this spot too.... when I walked out one time, it was the Philly Cheese Truck - wit whiz!

Yelp
I came here on a weeknight with a buddy to have a quiet conversation. While this is a busy place most weekends, I finally figured out that week nights are the best time to come. I could hear by friend talk, and best of all, the locals were very friendly. We were taught how to play shuffleboard by some very kind folks. and that made the night memorable. It's a dive, so what do you expect? As for drinks, you better be a beer or liquor kind of person to be here. They have all kinds of great beers, including some very hard to find belgians. They have $5 beers, and $100 shots in a cask room, so take your pick. We even saw bourbon from 1975 sitting here, and I'm sure it wasn't the rarest item here. So consider it a cool place, with sticky tables and nasty bathrooms. Bring your hand sanitizer. Parking is also readily available, and some folks even park at the auto shop next door (after hours). Consider that this is a place where you can go with your friends who don't care to class-it-up, but not for those you may be looking to impress. Either way, enjoy it.

Yelp
Last week, Matt B. and I had dinner on the Westside with a few friends. We were a group of five, and I happened to be the only woman present. We moved to The Daily Pint after dinner, and our proportions were properly echoed in this bar. I guess a group of guys is more likely to seek out a dive bar than a group of girls, thus creating this obvious imbalance. Whatever the reason, The Daily Pint seems to attract dudez-a-plenti. Maybe women are turned off by the disgusting bathroom with no seat covers. I mean, I'm a particularly slovenly person, and that bathroom pushed my limits pretty far. Anyway, the place had a cool vibe, despite a crowd and limited seating. There was a bar area, where we hung out, as well as a room with games and from the sounds of it, well insulated karaoke. The bar was respectable, with a huge beer selection as well as tons of Scotch, if that's your poison. The menu was written in pastel chalk in a clean woman's hand, with a couple beers starred as $5 daily specials. I saw that Ballast Point was on the menu and that the Ballast Point Piper Down Scottish ale was starred. I got a bartender's attention and ordered a Scottish ale and a Telegraph XPA for Matt. The service was not immediate, but it was reasonably fast. When I got the check, I noticed I'd been charged full price for my beer and asked if that was a mistake. The bartender said it wasn't on special and that it must have been starred by mistake. I was ready to sulk as she went to check and correct the board, but she came back and gave me a $3 refund. She wasn't super friendly about it, but she wasn't mean either. My beer ended up tasting kind of wrong, but I blame the watermelon Jolly Rancher I had on the ride over. What was I thinking? Think toothpaste and orange juice, but with beer. Regardless, I had a good time, and I'll keep The Daily Pint in mind next time I want a beer on the Westside.

Yelp
I have been here twice now, and have decided that yeah, im a fan! They have darts, foosball, pool tables (or table?), and I think I saw a shuffle board. The drink prices are decent and the service has always been fine. If you like scotch they have a HUGE selection, which I've been told by a couple of scotch drinkers is good. All I know is that they have Kettle, so im happy. The people watching is great, especially if you're a chick. There are ALOT of dudes in there, and not many decent looking girls. So go get em ladies! My only complaint is that they do not have air conditioning-or it was broken if they did, which makes it feel like it's about 200 degrees in there at night. The only air I felt in there was a tiny little wisp of a breeze coming from a small vent above my head. Overall a great dive for catching up with friends, playing games, or just getting sauced! Count me in!

Yelp
Do you like pints of delicious craft beer? Yes. Daily? Sure. Do you like getting drunk and playing shuffleboard? Yes. Do you like getting drunk and playing pool? Yes. Do you like chill crowds of people who also enjoy the things listed above? Yes. Come here.

Yelp
I've been coming here for years. It's a weird dichotomy of divey/dirty yet expensive, and attracts a lot of dude-bros, and lots of white people in general. You will see lots and lots of plaid. There are games like shuffleboard, foozball and pool, and they have karaoke on Saturdays. The bar is split into two halves with a wall between them and the bar opening to both sides, but they're usually understaffed. Bring cash! My hefeweizen last time I went was $8, which isn't cheap, but they have a pretty good selection of international and domestic brews. Overall, it's a pretty casual place to hang out in an area that's sorely lacking in nightlife. Parking is easy to find on the street.

Yelp
Divey, a little cramp and no AC usually means stay away. But what the Daily Pint lacks they make up for with a fantastic beer (they are lucky enough to tap the Younger each year) and whiskey selection. Throw in a shuffle board and pool table and you've got yourself a staple on the West side. They don't serve food but a handful of local places do deliver there, if you are lucky you might catch a food truck out front. Like most places on the West side parking is terrible, but you are drinking good beer and scotch so you should be Ubering/Lyfting anyways.

Yelp
Not sure if this classifies as a "dive" bar. I only went there once though I am a local. I obviously was not welcome. It may have been my age and gender. A true "dive" bar usually has friendly bartenders and generally congenial clientele. TDP had neither.

Yelp
This is my go to post work bar! Always find my self here on a Thursday or Friday and I've never have had a bad time. Great drink selection and awesome service! Keep the whiskey bar open more often! Jea is THE BEST bartender there!!

Yelp
Stumbled upon this place while looking for a bar that stays open past midnight on a Wednesday night--that is surprisingly hard to find on a Wednesday night... A few other bars in the area were already closed, so we ended up here, and I'm glad that we did! They have a large list of beers and the bartender was friendly. Seems like the space is divided into 2 sides by the bar. One side has a regular bar feel with a long bar and high stools, and a bit on the darker side, while the other side has more of a sports bar vibe with shuffle board, high-top tables, and a big screen TV with sports on. I've heard that they have an extensive scotch and whiskey collection, so I'd like to come back some time to check that out. It wasn't that crowded for a late Wednesday night, but that might be because most people had already left (although it was far from empty). We were able to find a table to accommodate our party of 3 easily.

Yelp
First time here yesterday. I thought it was just a little dive. It has the atmosphere of a dive, sure as hell looks like a dive...but ohhhhh the whisky! Woweee! They've got every kind of whisky that you can think of. And quite a few that you never knew existed. I LOVE MY WHISKY!! Tons of beers on tap and in bottles. The top of the bar is lined with bottles of whisky and two refrigerators completely filled with 24oz bottles of who-knows-what-but-I'd-try-every-single-one beer. The older gentleman working the bar was very knowledgable about the bar. I thought he was the owner but apparently he isnt; He's been there longer than the actual owner there he said. He showed us a bottle of whisky that is from 1960. He said the bottle itself costs almost $3000 and a shot of the stuff will run you $175! Wow. I had a nice sipper shot of Macallan 18 year for $21/shot. Soooo good, caramel goodness. The beers aren't overly pricey either. I had a pint of Boddingtons Pub Ale for $6 and a glass of Dogfish Head Midas Touch Ale for $8. Very tasty! A quote from the Dogfish site about this beer: "This recipe is the actual oldest-known fermented beverage in the world! It is an ancient Turkish recipe using the original ingredients from the 2700 year old drinking vessels discovered in the tomb of King Midas. Somewhere between wine & mead; this smooth, sweet, yet dry ale will please the Chardonnay of beer drinker alike." I'll take it! They've got two pool tables and a foozball table, which I unfortunately didn't get to play. But next time I intend to annihilate the competition. They also have an internet jukebox. I really liked this place and intend to go back one day when I'm in big baller status and buy myself a $175 shot of whisky!

Yelp
This is a great bar! I came here on a Friday night and it was definitely crowded, but not so packed that you couldn't move. We had no problem getting a place to sit, being able to talk to friends, and even getting a game at a pool table. The scotch selection is amazing, and I hear they have some great beers, but who care? Go for the scotch!

Yelp
This place gets hot as balls. That's my main memory. It's pretty small so it gets very cramped with all of the people they let in. I came for the beer selection and though they carry some brews you may not be able to find many places in town, it's definitely a better place if you're a scotch/whiskey fan. Definitely better selection for the scotch afficionados. Parking situation around here not great either with permit streets, but if you arrive later, you should be able to find street parking. If you are looking for a dive full of sweaty dudes and want to sweat off a couple pounds while drinking, this is your haven!
