"A popular spot for breakfast and brunch with both locals and tourists. Come here for everything from raspberry peach flapjacks, fried chicken and waffles, and hearty breakfast bowls to steak and eggs, spicy chicken biscuits, and sausage and egg burritos. Pair breakfast with cold brew coffee, daily latte specials like honey rose matcha, or even a mimosa or another brunchy cocktail." - Beth McKibben

This is now one of my favorite breakfast/brunch/lunch spot! Their food and drinks were so good. Its open and kid and pet friendly. I ordered the Tirkey Apple sandwich and a dirty shirt soda. It was the best sandwich. My husband got the biscuits and gravy and a hot vanilla latte. I would say to some the only downside would be no air conditioning. It is a stand in line, order at the counter then sit down where you want. They do give you a red card to raise if you need a waitor.

Our son took us here for brunch on a very rainy Sunday afternoon and HOLY SH*T it’s good. Well, good is an understatement…it’s fabulous! You order at the counter, get a number, find a table and they bring the deliciousness to you. Place is bigger than it seems with tables in back rooms you can’t see from the front door. It’s busy, so try to come at an off hour. Parking can be difficult as the lot is fairly small. The food arrives piping hot and full of flavor. We all sampled each other’s plates and there isn’t anything I wouldn’t order. We actually came back the next day to try more items. Our air B & B is just a block from here and if we lived anywhere near here, the servers would know us by name! Just go. Order anything and have a cocktail, too. Bloody Mary is delicious, but even if you don’t order it spicy, it has a kick. This place needs to be franchised everywhere. I’m not usually crazy about restaurants as we travel and eat out a lot, but this is worth the hype. 100%

Google
I ordered two dishes and they both were exceptional. I got the jerk chicken bowl and the chorizo burrito. Both had subtle teas that rival the best food I’ve ever had. Really interesting combinations of sweet and spicy. You should check this out!

Google
You can never go wrong with this place. Their parking lot is a little small however there’s plenty of parking on the street right beside it. There’s plenty of outdoor seating and actually plenty of seating behind the main eating area which most people don’t know about their drink specials for days And really great food as well. You do order at the counter they’ll give you your drinks and then bring your food to your table a little later. This place is actually really cool.

Google
Delicious food! Amazing biscuit, perfect mouth watering bacon, and a great cappuccino! Highly recommend!

Google
Every time my family and I visit Chattanooga, we have to get breakfast/brunch here!! The food and coffee is absolutely amazing, and staff are always friendly and attentative. I could eat the Southern Benedict for breakfast, lunch wnd dinner!! Definitely stop by here if you are in the area🫶

Google
The Daily Ration had absolutely delicious breakfast & brunch coffee and food. Plenty of options including morning cocktails. I had a breakfast platter with eggs, sausage, and a biscuit. Everything tasted wonderful. The restaurant had multiple areas to sit including an outside patio that was covered. My wife and I added this to our must return list in town. Looking forward to exploring more of the menu.

Google
Okay, it looks like a gas station from the outside, but the food was Fantastic! I had the chicken and waffles. It had a cinnamon butter that was so good that I didn’t touch the syrup at all! My kids loved the pancakes. Best of all? Parking was easy and free, wasn’t too crowded at all (we went around 10am). PS, it’s got patio seating that is dog friendly!

Yelp
Cute place we went for breakfast. I ordered the gingerbread chai coffee. The veggin out and the breakfast plate. Everything was delicious, really loved the gingerbread chai.

Yelp
Delicious breakfast! Bacon and biscuits were amazing. Order at counter and they bring the food to your table. Great servers. Set up in a converted garage, lots of indoor and outdoor space. Fun vibe.

Yelp
If you're in Chattanooga, TN, and looking for a culinary experience that's as comforting as it is satisfying, look no further than Daily Ration. Their *Chicken and Waffles* is an absolute game-changer. The fried chicken is perfectly seasoned, crispy on the outside, and tender and juicy on the inside -- it's the ideal balance of savory and rich. Paired with a fluffy, golden waffle that's both light and substantial, it creates the ultimate bite. The maple syrup, just the right level of sweetness, is a luxurious finishing touch, giving this dish the perfect harmony of flavors. And if you're a coffee lover, Daily Ration has you covered. Their coffee is consistently excellent, with deep, complex flavors that elevate the meal. Whether you're starting your day or winding down, it's a must-have alongside the chicken and waffles. Service is friendly, and the atmosphere is always inviting, making Daily Ration a standout spot for a truly memorable meal. Whether you're a local or just visiting, this place is a must-try.

Yelp
Walked in on a Monday around 1pm. Order taken quickly. Took about 30 min to get food, not a big crowd. I got the southern Benedict and it was very good.

Yelp
Esthetic brunch spot that plates & presents well. Things you should know: I. PARKING There's a private lot out front and street parking available. You'll always be able to find somewhere to park your car. II. SERVICE You order at the register and pay. They'll give you a number and then serve your food/drink accordingly. They were relatively timely about getting our orders out; however, my cold brew came out after my food. I found that odd. III. QUALITY You get a lot of food, but the price of this place is like inner-city NY or ATL. My meal was $30. I want to assume you're paying for quality ingredients and the ambience. My coffee, however, I could not say was to my standard. It was very watered down in flavor and disappointing for the price. IV. CAPACITY Fair amount of available seats inside and outside for a Friday late-morning.

Yelp
July Lemonade special: Blackberry Lemonade. Omg best beverage option because it was scorching during my visit. Veggin' Out: crispy sauteed kale, fried sweet potatoes, fire roasted corn & poblanos, black beans, smashed avocado, tortilla strips, vegan chipotle creama added chicken. When I say that bowl was fye!!! whew, I am not lying. Due to indoor seating located near the outdoor area, it was hot and the flies were so freaking active. They do provide water pitchers so that helps however, had I known about the open wall, I would have brought in my small table top fan. Despite the heat and flies, I really loved my order and think this would be amazing spot to visit in the fall.

Yelp
They have a diverse menu with breakfast, brunch, and lunch options, all made with locally sourced ingredients. From their mouthwatering Blueberry Flapjacks to their classic Southern Benedict, every dish is a flavorful masterpiece. The staff was friendly and they provided an attentive service, plus we were able to enjoy the perfect weather while hanging out on their patio. What did we have? - Blueberry Flapjacks - Southern Benedict - Cortado - Apple Cider Mimosa

Yelp
Dropped by while visiting Chattanooga for the weekend. We were able to get in pretty easily for brunch. The food didn't miss. Had the BYO Avo toast with some potatoes. The potatoes had a slight hint of spice which made them all the better. Nice and crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. We also got the sampler as well with the biscuits and the beignets. So tasty! Insider tip: throw some of the divine apple butter on the beignets and realize how close you are to tasting perfection!

Yelp
RUN, don't walk for BRUNCH at The Daily Ration! There's plenty of parking. You walk in, order at the counter and seat yourself with a number in a holder. The wait staff brings your coffee drinks and meal to the table. There were lots of seats, inside and out, in the sun and shaded for plenty of variety. The coffees were delicious and the food came out quickly, hot & fresh. I had the chicken and waffles. The fried chicken was immaculate but the waffle was like a 7/10. I'll get the blueberry stack when I go back! The one thing I DID NOT love was the bathroom situation. There were few bathrooms and it seemed like people were hogging them and blowing them up so there was always a long, slow line and they needed cleaned.

Tim N.

Yelp
I went there specifically for an omelet based on their online menu. I was informed they no longer create omelets. Too bad! Update your site please.

Yelp
This abandoned gas station had an interesting ambiance and an abundance of outdoor seating (as well as some indoors). You will be listening to what passes for rush out in Chattanooga in addition to the birds. The menu is excellent from a vegetarian perspective; there are several, clearly marked dishes with different qualities using mostly whole food ingredients. The fried sweet potatoes were too heavy for me, and a salad too light, but my quinoa bowl delivered ample satisfaction. I needed none of the offered hot sauce given the flavors, and between the fried chickpeas, edamame, and the quinoa itself, this was a filling bowl with plenty of protein. A London Fog had only vanilla as they were out of lavender, but was a pleasant compliment. It wasn't perfect and it wasn't cheap, but given what they offered I wish there were more brunch places like this.
google avatar

Anisha D.

Yelp
I think this place is a bit overpriced and overrated. The bfast plate was adequate but nothing extraordinary. The service was very slow. The outdoor area was the best part and had great vibes.
google avatar

Elizabeth M.

Yelp
Always delicious and pleasant with nice service and tasty fare. I love sitting in either the indoor or outdoor main areas. Not the biggest fan of the two rear seating areas. We always enjoy stopping by for a healthy bite and sometimes those extra tasty indulgences. Can't wait for the next seasonal pancake dish to hit the menu.

Yelp
*update* We returned for their Friday French Toast, which is seriously the best French toast ever. It was crispy on the outside, coated in cinnamon and sugar, topped with fresh strawberries, blackberries, and blueberries. A server told us they change flavors each week. If I lived here, I would be at The daily Ration every Friday! *original post* Great neighborhood coffee and breakfast spot! Very roomy with indoor and outdoor seating. Order at the counter and they bring your order to you. We only had coffee and cafe mocha; both were excellent! Staff is very helpful and friendly.
google avatar

Shannon J.

Yelp
The food was amazing with lots of flavor. Under the chicken you'll find the cinnamon butter surprise which is great. The beignets were delicious and I wish I could have the Samoa latte everyday.

Yelp
I stumbled upon Daily Ration after an early wake up call! I was excited to check it out after hearing a bunch of chatter about it! My favorite aspect of this place is the ambiance. It feels trendy, aesthetic, and comforting. I also loved the coffee. Sadly, I wasn't too impressed with the food, but it was tasty( just nothing too special). I want to go back and try more food items to change my mind!
google avatar

Yelp
This place has the potential to be great but today was not their best. Most of my food arrived cold and honestly inedible. The bacon (please zoom in) was hard and cold. It seemed like it was left over from the day or two before. The eggs were supposed to be soft scrambled but instead they were cold and hard. The blueberry flapjack was the only item worthy of the stars! It was delicious! I'm sure it would've been even better if it was hot. Depending on where you choose to sit, it's difficult to track down a server or for a server to find you to deliver your food. I think this may have contributed to my food arrive cold. You a given a number to place on your table then you may choose seating from several dinning rooms. Servers scan the rooms looking for numbers associated with the food order. Works until it's your food order going in and out of a room until they find you.
google avatar

Vivian C.

Yelp
Easy to order at counter and food delivered to table inside or outside. Smooth lattes. Crunchy fried chicken with my waffle and scrambled eggs with his flapjacks. Recommended by our hotel desk manager. Busy for a Tuesday morning. Lots of good energy.
google avatar

Kirsten K.

Yelp
it's just okay. i've been here twice, but it doesn't really stand out. i think there's better breakfast/brunch places in chatt. the chicken n waffles were dry and beignets are not beignets? more like churros. we did like their pepper jelly and blueberry sauces though. the ambiance is cute too. service is not that great though.

Yelp
While visiting Chattanooga with our friends and our dogs to go hiking, we stopped at The Daily Ration for breakfast. I don't think we could have found a more perfect spot! They have a huge patio that is very dog friendly (they even have water bowls for dogs), and most of it was shaded. You order inside and then they bring you your drinks and food. We were surprised with how quickly our food came because they were pretty busy. All of the staff was super friendly, too. I ordered a cold brew and my husband had a caramel latte. My friend ordered the brunch sampler, which had biscuits, beignets, and various butters and jams. The beignets and biscuits were delicious! And the blueberry bourbon pecan jam was heaven. My husband had the southern benedict, which had pimento cheese and he really liked it. I had the breakfast platter (love that you can choose avocado instead of meat), and it was perfect for me. Today is Memorial Day, and there was a race in the area. I'm guessing that's why they had some extra things going on, like having live music (the band was great) and King of Pops selling popsicles and popsicle cocktails. It was a fun vibe. We love to travel with our pup, so this will definitely be our go to breakfast spot when we are in town!

Yelp
Brunch at the Daily Ration was a great way to start our day trip in Chattanooga. Not many places offer brunch options on weekdays so we were excited to see that Daily Ration did! Dog friendly on the mostly covered outdoor patio! So that's a total win to begin with. We started out with a carafe of the Eldermosa to share. It was only $18 and it served a couple drinks a person. The blueberry flapjacks are a MUST! Fluffy, not dense or heavy, and not too sweet after all that powdered sugar and fruit. But maybe I shouldn't have drowned it in syrup lol. What foodies do for the gram. The Southern Benedict was not what I expected, although I don't know why I expected a traditionally plated Benedict based on the pretty clear menu description. A lot more greens than I expected, which I guess was good for me, considering I'm eating a brunch entree of sourdough bread topped with pimento cheese and candied bacon on a Monday morning. The ingredients themselves were super tasty on their own, although a bit heavy. But then again, when has pimento cheese and candied bacon not been heavy?? Overall, I would probably have to stop in again to try some other items on their brunch menu!
google avatar

Christianne B.

Yelp
Friendly service and everything we ordered was delicious! I had a strawberry fields matcha latte & a veggie burrito. We shared an order of beignets which were the best I've had outside of New Orleans! Would highly recommend for breakfast or brunch

Yelp
I wanted to love this place because hubby hyped it up, and it appears everyone in our group ordered chicken and waffles except me and my son. I guess it's safe to say the chicken and waffles were probably good. My ginger latte was warm but made pretty. I had the chicken and grits with scrambled eggs. My eggs were old and cold, grits were warm, chicken fried too hard. The side of kale and onions were delicious. My son had a kid plate of pancake, bacon, and eggs. His eggs were scrambled and old. His pancake was a generous serving. I don't think he needed the big dollop of butter, so I quickly removed it. He enjoyed his bacon. He's 4 he ate most of the food but couldn't eat even even half of the pancake. We chatted with our table mates mostly. Our server didn't come back in time for me to complain. I actually was waiting for over 10 minutes for her to return with my silverware, so maybe that's why my grits were warm? I wind up seeing a stack in the corner and got up and got me a set when I realized she may have forgotten. The place was packed and seems to be a popular choice amongst the locals as well as us visiting

Yelp
Disappointed the vegan chorizo nachos are no longer on the menu but tried the vegan chorizo burrito - NOT THE SAME - very bland- left my entire plate of food- atmosphere and service still great !

Yelp
Ok. I'm in the city of Chattanooga. I love local restaurants. Like I search for them. Stay away from chains. So my daughter suggested The Daily Ration. Pretty promising. You wait in line and order and they bring it to you. I ordered the fried chicken and grits! Ok. It had a fried egg on it. Very tasty. My wife got eggs Benedict and my daughter ordered the pancakes. All of it was amazing. For sure try it out. These local restaurants are not ok. Go share the love with them. And over tip morning restaurant wait staff. They have to get up a lot sooner than you want to.
google avatar

Yelp
We went here for the first time on Saturday morning. You walk into the front counter to order, and you are given a number and a red card. (If you need anything at your table, you stick the red card on the number holder and someone will come to help you!) Then you can pick any seat you like. They have some seating inside and then a bunch of tables outside. It was a beautiful morning so of course the outside tables were full, but we found a table sitting under the beautiful trees. We didn't have any issues with bugs or anything despite sitting under the tree. We loved this spot for a cute breakfast spot! I got the breakfast plate, it was tasty. The sausage wasn't my favorite because it had a little too much seasoning. It tasted like rosemary and that's just not what I was expecting. But the potatoes and biscuit were amazing. My husband got the chicken and waffles. He said it was delicious. He never eats more than a couple bites, but he almost cleared his entire plate! That was a win!!
google avatar

Daniel M.

Yelp
Great food and atmosphere. One of the best lattes I've ever had. Friendly attentive service even in the patio
google avatar

Nadchen A.

Yelp
My friend and I came right in the middle of Sunday brunch hours and it was so packed that I barely cinched a good parking spot, but we had a nice time. The outdoor seating was very spacious and cute. I ordered the Huevos Rancheros and wow, it was so delicious. Sometimes I think about that entree from time to time and how I should visit again. I highly recommend this place! So yummy
google avatar

Yelp
The Daily Ration is a nice spot for weekend brunch vibes and a great summer patio in Chattanooga. We stopped in on a recent Sunday afternoon and found the spot relatively busy. After waiting in line, we happily ordered a mimosa for her and delicious Paloma for me. We followed that up with another mimosa and a hellfire spicy Bloody Mary. For brunch, she had the breakfast plate whereas I had the chilaquiles, which resembled more of a breakfast nacho situation than any chilaquiles I've ever seen, but were satisfying nonetheless. The draw of this spot is their relaxing open air patio that seemed like a perfect spot to enjoy a summer afternoon with drinks and friends.

Meredith M.

Yelp
Quick and friendly service, good quality food and delicious coffee! Restaurant itself had a charming atmosphere and a creative selection of drinks.
google avatar

Colleen L.

Yelp
Cute little neighborhood restaurant with lots of open air seating. Good coffees and chai teas. Entrees are amply sized and tasty. We enjoyed the breakfast plate, D.R. burger, sausage burrito, and southern benedict. The staff was very agreeable to substitutions. Would definitely recommend.

Yelp
With so few dining options in the Riverview area, the Daily Ration was a welcome addition to the former Farmer's Daughter location. This brunch restaurant has been open since 2016 and I am now getting to try this wonderful brunch restaurant. The Daily Ration is one of the few local restaurants in the area that welcome dogs to the patio. I didn't visit Farmer's daughter as often, as I didn't care much for their menu. Food was not as good and I felt as though my options were limited. In comparison, there are many items I would be willing to eat at the Daily Ration. Breakfast is served from 8a to 2p from Sun to Sat. From my friends that come here all the time, this place is always packed. When I think of my favourite local haunts, there always seems to be an element where the food feels like it was made in my kitchen. My experience was like that. I ordered the Balsamic Avocado Toast [local multigrain bread, smashed avocado, cherry heirloom tomato salad, feta, soft-boiled egg] and Blueberry Flapjacks [three blueberry pancakes, whipped butter, bourbon maple syrup] and I topped it off with herbal hot tea. Great flavours and hearty portions. I found the service to be attentive as my friends and I were there for about an hour on a Sunday morning. There were tons of dogs on the patio. If your dog is not well socialized, there will be lots of distractions. Otherwise, a great place to hang with your pooch on a sunny day or after a walk in the neighbourhood.

Yelp
The BEST waffles I've EVER had! Wow! Pet friendly outdoor eating. Amazing breakfast. Delicious lavender latte Wish I could give more than five stars.

Yelp
Our air bnb host recommended this place as a good breakfast/brunch spot. We were not disappointed! Being from Atlanta, my bf and I know good Chicken and Grits and I have to tell you that the grits here are amazing. Super creamy and tasty and the chicken breast was surprisingly juicy. I like the order at the front and seat yourself flow they have going here. It's makes for quicker service and a solid dining experience. If I'm ever back in Chattanooga, I'll be sure to return. Yelp
My standard for brunch as changed after eating here. If I could give them 6 stars I would. Cute shop, indoor and outdoor seating. Outdoor seating is pup friendly AND they have heaters for colder weather (so if you're like me and are traveling with a pup, you can eat outside in January and not freeze to death). Food came out quickly and was delicious. The blueberry pancakes were thick and hearty, the bourbon maple syrup was delicious and not overly sweet. The biscuit was fantastic, buttery and just a hint of salt which really elevated the egg/cheese/avocado. I'm a breakfast purist and appreciate a well made breakfast sandwich. Coffee comes with a free refill, staff was super friendly and accommodating. 11/10 would recommend and hope to be back!
google avatar

Emma G.

Yelp
Amazing breakfast!! The patio out front is so cute and the food is so fresh and you can tell they put their heart and soul into the food. Will definitely be back the next time we're in Chatt!

Mandi W.

Yelp
The food at this place is 10/10. Been a handful of times and would travel back to Chattanooga just for this meal, no joke.
google avatar

Rachel G.

Yelp
Delicious Dog Friendly Brunch Spot. The coffee was just as yummy as the drinks! Mimosa and a Eldermosa! The food was excellent! It was fast and fresh with a friendly staff. My bowl was delicious it was flavor packed and layered with the right amount of crunch. Don't let the vegan crumble deter you. (Chipotle vegan crumble, cilantro-lime rice, black beans, grilled peppers and onions, chimichurri, fried tortilla strips.) Enjoy.
google avatar

Kimberly B.

Yelp
I took my mom here for brunch and we loved it! It was crowded so I had to drive around a bit to find parking. There was plenty of room inside and the decor was light and modern. We both had a Bloody Mary and they were very good, they use Hoff sauces. I got the sausage burrito and it was very yummy with grilled veggies and eggs inside also. My mom got the avo toast with egg and bacon, which she loved. We will be visiting again soon!
google avatar

Rick S.

Yelp
Great outdoor patio area. Their breakfast is great as well as their espresso. (They have the best jam!) I would say the only problem is parking. There is a popular burger place right next door so the closer to lunch you go the harder it will be to find parking.
google avatar

Wally W.

Yelp
Between the food quality and presentation, the atmosphere and staff, I love this place. I've had everything on the breakfast menu - most of it several times over - and each dish ranks high. I am fortunate to visit CHATT regularly, and I never skip a visit to The Daily Ration!
google avatar

Stephanie Y.

Yelp
Super popular local brunch place with tons of options that's not in the downtown area. Overall a great find, food was delicious and high quality! Beautiful outdoor space with plenty of seating. Veggie bowl- each component was fresh and complemented each other. Tortilla strips were pipping hot and right out to the fryer. Roasted corn and sweet potato were cocked perfectly. Chipotle dressing has quite a kick and is quite tasty. I ordered a side of their pork belly, which was essentially 2 thick slices of bacon.
google avatar

Clariee J.

Yelp
Delicious. Surprisingly delicious, actually. This is a hipster place that I fully expected to be overpriced and mediocre. It was overpriced, but my dish was excellent. I got the chicken and grits mainly because it sounded weird. But man, the combination of white cheddar grits topped with glazed honey kale, a chicken breast, a sunny side up egg and pickled onions was so good. And the ratio of all of those ingredients was perfect. When I tasted the kale, I was immediately disappointed that there wasn't more in the bowl. But it turned out to be a great balance with everything else. The pickled onions packed a nice punch. Having African rooibos tea alongside it all just made for a delicious breakfast. And how could I not end it all with a triple berry pastry? The pastry almost tasted undercooked but it was weirdly delicious. The berries hit that back part of your mouth that makes you salivate uncontrollably. It would've been even better with a touch of whipped cream on top, but it didn't need it. My friend got some kind of veggie dish that has sweet potato, kale, black beans, avocado, this chipotle sauce. Hers was delicious as well. I'd say it was super busy and very loud in there. We got seated in the back room, which was nice cos there was a bit more room for us, but we had to yell at each other to be heard. Our server was wonderful and polite. I felt like it took a while for our food to come, but it was a casual Saturday and I was hanging with my friend so I didn't mind. I'll be back!
google avatar

J.R. C.

Yelp
Really good burrito. My 6 year old picky eater ate every bite of his kids meal. We sat on the patio and loved that! I had the pineapple mimosa and it was very good tii
google avatar

Ryan G.

Yelp
Food was decent but way over priced. Breakfast for 2 adults and two kids was $78 with tip (and no alcohol). They think very highly of their $5 side of potatoes. We had Ruby Sunshine yesterday with a Bloody Mary and a mimosa and the total with too was $60. The atmosphere is nice, but wouldn't come back.

Merry B.

Yelp
Consistently great service and unique delicious food options! Love the ambiance with the outdoor seating. Great place to people watch while you enjoy your meal. My favorite breakfast spot in Chattanooga!

Mandi H.

Yelp
Have been here several times. The kindness from service is always hit or miss. My dad got the biscuits and gravy and he wasn't a fan. Said they were hard and cold. The coffee is usually good but the food is hit or miss as well. Not a super consistent choice but is there if you're in a pinch!
google avatar

Jamie P.

Yelp
Really great brunch! Was able to split pancakes & a couple sides with my mom and we both left happy & full. Service was a little slow, but we got there at a busy time. Will be going again!

Yelp
Had brunch on September 12th. Order placed at counter then seat yourself. Pretty easy process... employees happy to assist with drink carries etc. enjoyed outdoor seating. Food and drinks were great. A favorite brunch spot.
