"You couldn’t meet a friendlier family than the parents, daughter and son-in-law who run this rustic roadside pub. It has spacious bedrooms and a cosy, shabby-chic style. The concise menu of pub favourites utilises the best of local produce and changes regularly to keep things interesting." - Michelin Inspector
We stayed here on Saturday evening. We had a lovely room. Dinner was amazing. Very difficult to narrow down choices on the menu as it all looked great! Service was very friendly and attentive. Breakfast was the best I have had in a long time.
Would thoroughly recommend staying here and we will come back in the future.

Stayed for one night mid-week in October. Lovely spacious room with very comfortable bed. Dinner was in the bar area and was delicious with great, friendly staff. Only downside is that it directly fronts onto a busy road so even at night it can't be called quiet but they do make this very clearwhen booking on their website. The inn is closed in the afternoon but we were contacted and given instructions on how to access our room beforehand so that was not a problem. Lovely breakfast, again with great staff. Very much recommended.

Perfect pit stop for something to eat.
Called in on a lunchtime to get something to eat and drink on the way to our holiday in Cornwall.
A great choice of sandwiches which tasted fresh and flavoursome. A good range of drinks on draught and genuinely friendly staff, we even got a table by a fireplace- the perfect pub.
For those wanting a bigger meal the menu looked great and the food that came out from the kitchen looked amazing.

Tess, Jay and all the staff gave us a 5 star experience. The pub/hotel nestles just below the most fantastic Dartmoor hills and scenery and you can be on the moor just a two minute walk away.
The welcome we received was very warm and relaxed and the room was spacious with a wonderfully, comfortable bed.
The dinner was excellent but just as much care was taken with the breakfast. All of it was superb. It’s easy to see why The Dartmoor Inn have won awards since Tess and Jay took over six years ago.
Thank you to all the team and we will definitely be back…with family!

We just had lunch - but if the rooms are anywhere near as good as the restaurant, they must be amazing.
We had lunch on 19/6 after recommendation from friends.
The staff are lovely and the food was truly amazing and remarkably good value. The presentation of the food was beautiful and every mouthful delicious. Probably one of the best meals we've ever had.
Thank you for great memories

This was just tremendous - food, service, atmosphere/tone, alcohol free drinks list, value. Even the music is right. You have nailed it. The kitchen, especially, really deserves a pat on the back - we are hard to please in this regard. Thank you. We wish you tremendous luck with your business.

We stopped by for our last lunch whilst on holiday in Dartmoor and by goodness I’m glad we did! The landlady is an absolute delight, very welcoming and accommodating considering we turned up 45 minutes early. I had the pigeon to start which was out of this world and flavours that were beautifully executed. My husband had the duck which was also sublime. We both had the steak and chips for mains, which were utterly delicious. For pudding I had the brownie and my husband had sticky toffee pudding, again, both superb. The service was faultless and the wine menu both varied and excellent value for money. We cannot wait to return!

Stunning, sensational and spectacular food. Starters : goats cheese and asparagus were sublime. The sticky toffee pudding is the best I have ever had and I must have eaten 167 in my life so it was literally the best out of 167!! Lovely staff too and the setting is unpretentious and welcoming. This is how you do restaurant meals.

Yelp
I have also been here to eat many times (from way back in 1972, on and off, up to quite recently!) It's a nice place to have a meal and chat with friends and family as it's never too noisy (little or no background music). Lots of good home cooking and a varied menu, with several vegetarian choices too. Near to Lydford Gorge so you can go for a walk afterwards if you can still stand up)

Yelp
Awesome food, lovely atmosphere, very friendly staff. Service can be a little patchy when it is very busy and the food is a little pricey but it is probably worth it. A large proportion of the food is locally sourced and the staff can tell you all about where it has come from. Very cosy and warm on a rainy Dartmoor Sunday! There is also a boutique-style shop where the owner displays and sells her shabby-chic goods many of which are also used to decorate the pub. Small outside area. Excellent local reputation. Very easily accessed as it is on the edge of the A386 but you wouldn't know that once you are inside!

Yelp
A classy place to eat that also has rooms. Restaurant is split into several smaller cosy areas. Consistently excellent food and good atmosphere. Close to Dartmoor and plenty of good walks. Good sized car park. Have been going there now for many years and have never been disappointed with the cooking which is to a very high standard. Staff are friendly and service is excellent even when the place gets busy. Highly recommended. Sunday lunch there is also top quality.
